I regularly play here on wednesdays, there is open volleyball. First come first serve. The staff are pretty friendly and it’s usually more or less regular set of people which makes it a little more fun as well :). I know you can also rent those gyms for other events. Just make sure you inquire about them in the front desk.

Open gym volleyball every Wednesday night from 7:30 — 10:00 pm. It’s a great time! HOWEVER the process is idiotic. If you don’t live in district you’ll have to arrive at about 6:30 and sit there for an hour hoping 28 Hoffman Estates residents don’t show up. Why? Because they only allow 28 players and residents have priority over nonresidents. That’s right! You could sit there for an hour and if 28 residents walked in together at 7:29 you aren’t playing. Why is it this way? Because one man came late one night and pitched a fit because he was a resident and thought he deserved to play over those who lived in other towns. He showed up once, they have changed the rules ever since. It’s also a process that takes more time than it should. You show up and wait to be called by residents or nonresidents(obviously residents go first) and try to keep yourselves in order of appearance as you wait to get your ticket. Then you sit and wait some more. Then at 7:30 they take payment, calling all residents up first and dividing them by credit or cash payment. The whole process is a headache. So come out on a Wednesday if you dare to brave the crowd and take your chances on getting in!
