Love the crispy, flakey & perfectly balanced cherry turnovers, the Apple turnovers are great but my new favorite is now the cherry. The cakes here are perfect for birthday or holidays. Super moist & tasty cupcakes too.

Came here with my family to pick up some goodies… the cup cakes were super moist and the chocolate moose whip was awesomely delicious. the kids cookies were very chewy and not hard they like it as well. Will come back for more. I will recomend paying them a visit you will be hooked after that and will come for more.

Wife went in for burnt almond cake. She was told if she didn’t order it too bad. This cake is in high demand and I don’t have time for walk ins. If it’s in such demand you would think they would make a few extras. Basic business practice. We won’t be back. She was very rude.

The food is very very good! The burnt almond cake is very light and fluffy! Everything I have had has been incredible! My one complaint is one of their employees has terrible costumer service. I went in one morning with the intent to get a pastry and sit inside, I felt very unwelcome by the girl working there, I don’t think I ended up buying anything, i turned around and left and went to Starbucks instead. Other times I have gone in the afternoon and I received very welcoming and friendly service.

Okay start of by saying the hospitality in this place feels just like home. I got a burnt almond cup cake and a pistachio macaroon. Both were absolutely amazing it’s like I never wanted to stop eating them. The décor in the bakery is so cute and made me feel at home with the ocean feel. 5 stars for the amazing taste in their sweets and the amazing hospitality. Keep up the good work! Can’t wait to go back!

We made this bakery a planned stop on our vacation in August. We were not disappointed! The maple bacon bars were incredible. We had the chicken salad sandwich were fantastic. We left with turnovers, tarts and macaroons For our travels. Then in Sept we had an event in Morgan Hill so we headed to our event via Hollister just so we could visit Lighthouse 55. We had another fabulous visit! This time it was lime tarts, cannoli, burnt almond cupcakes(the bomb!) and more maple bacon bars. Their don out are baked not fried so the glaze doesn’t slide off and there’s no greasy aftertaste. We plan on making this a regular monthly/bimonthly side trip for our family. Great goodies and friendly service. Thanks Lighthouse 55!

I decided to stop in and check out this bakery. And I am so glad I did. The chicken salad on a croissant was fabulous. And then the owner gave me a burnt almond cupcake to try. I wasn’t to eager because I’m not a cupcake fan. Needless to say after trying this cupcake I am a fan now. The best cupcake I have ever had! I will definitely be going back.

I could list a dozen items at this place I really like. Simply put they are all secondary to the burnt almond cake. Perfectly moist and floating right in the middle between angel food and pound cake the cake itself is delightful. Frosting is whipped cream, and the almonds are candied and delicious. They have a consistent and yet evolving lineup of items, the french macaroons are on par with any I’ve tried. Chicken salad on a croissant makes an indulgent picnic lunch for two.

I ordered 12 dozen cupcakes for my daughter and her new husband’s celebration party. they were gorgeous and delicious! I had the owner select the decorations and they were unbelievable. I had them at a baby shower a d couldn’t believe how moist they were. When I went to order the cupcakes we ate a sandwich at the bakery and tear they were amazing as well. I highly recommend Lighthouse 55 for any occasion!

I’m soo happy that I was recommended to try this bakery! I was looking for cupcakes to have made for my friends bridal shower and this place had so many flavors to choose from. I have to say that the almond cupcake is amazing! Everything is not overly sweet but just the right sweetness needed. The macaroons are also great. I also purchased some turnovers for my dad and he loved them. Would definitely go back again to try more things.

The cakes and pastries are absolutely amazing. I have ordered a few custom cakes from this place and they were both gorgeous and delicious. I give a 3 star rating because although their product is amazing, their attitudes are awful. They are always rude and seem too busy to give you attention(even when the place is empty). I continue to order from them only because I like the results. As soon as I find someone else who can make custom cakes, I am moving on. Customer service is key! If they weren’t so rude, I would happily continue ordering from them.

The food is a five but the rude people are a two. Not a word said after standing at counter and asked what do you need. Wasn’t busy but was ignored and no recognition as a customer. I want to buy local but I also want an atmosphere that includes pleasant people which they were not.

My mom and I had a wonderful time in Hollister today. From looking at homes to lunch and then dessert and I have to say this is the cutest bakery ever! Lori is amazing and super friendly. All the desserts look so yummy wish I could have tried them all. I’m so glad I found lighthouse 55 here on Unilocal.I will be back soon even if I don’t move to Hollister an hour drive from San Jose is absolutely worth it!

I have gone to this establishment twice because I have heard wonderful things about the food. The first time I went the young lady taking my order was short with me and rude. It seemed like she didn’t want to take my lunch order at all. The second time I asked if they were still serving lunch because the food is actually not bad, but I didn’t see the menu. She told me that they were closing for 30 minutes right then(it was noon) so they weren’t serving lunch. I’ll never go again. I make it a point to support local business, but this business doesn’t seem to support locals.

$ 5 sandwich is a steal for lunch. Over the course of two trips, I tried the chicken salad sandwich on white(which is a hoagie roll) and the turkey/bell pepper sandwich on a croissant. I would definitely get the croissant again — not the hoagie! YUM!(FYI, I don’t typically like croissants as my sandwich holder). The turkey sandwich has a little kick to it and melty provolone cheese. So goood. The chicken salad is to die for. They sprinkle some sort of toasted almond mixture on top as garnish… it is sweet, crunchy, and delicious — a nice compliment to the chicken salad filling itself. I also got a chocolate mousse cupcake. I don’t know if that is actually what it is called, but it’s the one that has the chocolate cake with mousse on top, dipped in chocolate. Omg. Heavenly. I don’t like thick and heavy frosting, so this was perfectly smooth, whipped, and chocolatey on top. The cake itself was pretty good, but the mousse/chocolate on top was definitely the star.

Yum yum yum. Ok we got the toasted almond cake, lemon curd cupcake, bacon maple doughnuts and a chocolate cake pop. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Not to sweet just right. It was fun to home and have a picnic with this stuff and get to try one bite. Amazingly there where leftovers; but there must be gnomes in the house because when I got up the next morning everything was eaten. Oh they also have a little lunch menu that I’m excited to try.

This is a awesome bakery, pastries are great and the chicken salad sandwich is to die for! Pricing on everything is just perfect, very friendly staff and quick service. plenty of tables to sit down and enjoy your food. The custom made cakes are all done amazingly and taste just as good as they look, normally special made cakes look good but taste plain, this is not the case at Lighthouse 55. you can tell by the look and first taste that it was made with love and care. anyone looking for a place for there wedding cake, birthday, anniversary or graduation I Highly Recommend this place.
