I ate here in 2002 and food was tasteless. I gave it another shot in 2010 and it hasn’t changed. If you want real mexican food go to: Villa de Jerez, El Michoacano, Super Taqueria or Los Gruillenses!

NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
This factory is THE one-woman engine behind the tamales at Progresso Tamale Parlor. Liz Valenzuela, cousin once removed, from the current owners, is the magic behind each tamale. Each tamale is individually prepared and hand-tied the old-fashion way. The masa is prepared daily using corn which is stone-ground in a Mocajete just like the Aztecs used to do it. The tamale sauce is also prepared daily using ground dried chiles. Everything is absolutely fresh with no added preservatives. Nobody makes tamales like these anymore.
