Lone Palm Beach Bar

Came to Lone Palm (part of the Margaritaville Resort) for dinner and drinks with my wife. Although the bartenders were friendly and professional, the drink menu was very repetitive. Prices were a little high compared to other spots on Hollywood beach, and the drinks were a little small (but tasty).
After three rounds of drinks, I asked our bartender to take our dinner order, and she said she’d be right back to help us. I headed to the bathroom, which is in the Margaritaville hotel. On my way back from the bathroom, I was stopped by a security guard who asked for my room key. I told him that I was a patron at their bar, and that I was just heading back. He told me that I needed to leave the resort, and go to the bar from the public boardwalk, which I did immediately.
When I finally got back to the bar, I found out that the bartender never came back to check on us or take our dinner order, so we decided to take our business elsewhere.
If I spend my money at a business, I expect to be treated like a customer, not an intruder. There are plenty of other great spots on the beach, won’t be back.

What I witnessed here last night was utterly disgusting. As the bartenders were cleaning up for the night they were taking each liquor bottle and wiping them down. One of the bottles he picked up had a huge dead bug floating around in a half full bottle of what looked like a flavored schnapps. Once the bartender noticed it, he immediately set it aside. He brought it to the attention to another bartender. A few minutes later I heard him say, I’ll be right back I’m going to take care of this. He took the half empty bottle with the bug and left. A few minutes later he returned with the same half empty bottle of liquor but now there was no bug. He didn’t bring back a new bottle, he brought back the same half empty bottle and put it right back in the well. Rather than do the right thing and discard the contaminated liquor and bring back a new bottle, he just fished out the dead bug and felt completely satisfied serving that nasty concoction to the next unassuming customer. Think twice if you’re considering a mixed drink here.
