Days Inn Hollywood Near Universal Studios

Rooms appeared to be clean at first until we spotted a roach on the bathroom sink and stains on the shower curtain. Walls are thin all around you can hear everything especially stomping of people staying upstairs.
Other than that parking was easy and location is perfect.

First thing first, this is no Hilton. But it was clean, comfortable and most importantly felt safe. My father had to have heart surgery at Kaiser, which is 3 miles away. My mother and I stayed here for 4 nights. They have secure underground parking, which requires your room keep to enter, and then the room key to use the elevators and even doors leading from the lobby to the rooms, this made my mom feel safe when I would leave and she stayed. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to a lot of Hollywood hotspots. If I needed I would totally stay here again.

Located just a short walk away from Hollywood Blvd and directly next to an In-​N-​Out. The price was far less than surrounding hotels, but the quality was definitely low. Throughout our stay, there were various unpleasant smells, the shower curtain had mysterious stains, and the room was very basic. Even walking through the hotel to get to our room seemed dirty.
Our room had a very spacious fridge and a microwave. Thin walls — woke up several times during the night from people talking or noisy cats outside the room.
Parking is $ 10 per day but is awkwardly accessible from the main street.
The complimentary breakfast consisted of bagels, toast, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, and assorted pastries.
We chose this hotel as it was a very short walk from Jimmy Kimmel Live’s studio, and we will most likely stay here again if we come back for another show and are trying to save money.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We originally booked with another hotel but as soon as we saw the inside of the hotel that we booked with, we had to leave there and find a new hotel. When walking up to the front desk we were immediately greeted by Gina. We asked to see a room before we committed to the hotel. Gina called a really nice man (I forgot his name) and he showed us the room. He told us about some history of the hotel as well. The room was clean, neat, and spacious. Long story short, we left the original hotel we booked to come stay here.
The breakfast was a continental, quick, bagel and cereal ordeal.
Everyone at the front desk was super helpful but I just wanted to give an extra praise out to Gina, who helped us adapt and made sure our stay was perfect. She was extremely friendly, professional, and kind! She is one of the main reasons why we stayed at the hotel as well. So THANK YOU GINA!!! She was very helpful and knowledgable about activities and things to do in the area.
When we returned every day, the room was cleaned and felt fresh!
Perfect location for tourists because everything is close!

Me and my family stayed here for a weekend getaway and was so impressed with the cleanliness of the place and the professionalism of the staff would definitely stay here again !!!

This place is a dump including a homeless crackhead that lives next to the parking entrance. The location is good since it’s near a lot of LA attractions and there’s an IHOP across the street. The elevator is small and smells. The rooms are outdated. This place needs a total remodel. Lots of street noise in the room as well. We will never stay here again.

when I got in the front desk assitant did not even greet me. When she looked for my reservation she said I booked something I couldn’t check in until 3pm. I asked her if she could check me in now for an overnight stay and she said she was fully booked. Kind of upsetting and I feel like she could’ve been more accommodating.

NEGATIVE 100 STARS*********AWFUL…From the moment we walked in. In the middle of the night, the party people in the next room thought it would be funny to pound on the wall right on the other side of my extremely tired, fast asleep head and then laugh about it and ways most caused me a heart attack. They continued to do so and finally after a call to the front desk they sent security who did nothing. I called again and she said security couldn’t hear anything going on. Through the paper think walls, I could even hear them breathing. She claims that she called the room and woke them and they said it wasn’t them, but I can guarantee their phone did not ring until I had to call back a second time because those idiots thought it was so funny to keep pounding the wall waking get everyone in our room up including 2 sleeping little ones that they had so scared. They did not offer to either remove them or move us, even though they still had vacancies. The front desk creep couldn’t even look me in the eyes in the morning when I was asking for the manager and again displayed how awful the stay was. He rolled his eyes, looked all over but directly at me. And of course, no manager to be found. Awful… Awful…Awful…

My friend and I checked in on Oct. 1. 1^st night was ok. And then 2^nd night was a disaster. We were in room 103 (room with balcony facing the pool). During our 2^nd night, there were banging upstairs which seemed to last all night long. We were going back home to NorCal the next day and we didn’t have sleep at all.

I would give no star if I could, this place is very dirty and noisy to stay. I found bugs in the room. It’s super dirty and they try to charge you for the price of 5 star hotel. Take my advise and don’t go there.

Oy vey! I found myself having to look for a hotel at 1am because of a booking mistake I had made with another hotel. With that being said, I wanted something reasonably priced, fairly close to UCLA, and not a motel. According to Unilocal,Days inn fit the criteria. On the way there, you immediately notice all these cool bars and restaurants on the ever so popular sunset strip which I found to be very fascinating considering I’m a huge pop culture fan. My bf and I pull up at the days inn and notice a couple cockroaches chilling on the stairs leading to the entrance. Gross, right? But I thought, whatevs I’m tired ! We walk in and were not even greeted by the front desk but I understood because it was pretty late. The phone then rings and what do you know? It was the 60’s calling! they had said they wanted their décor back ! The place looked so old and outdated smh. I then asked her if cockroaches we’re going to be an issue and she rudely replied «what do you expect? The place is old.» Hmmm. I stood there and thought that definitely meant Yes! Staying in this hotel gave me the heebie jeebies! It had some sort of creepy vibe, it stank, and it didn’t help that the lighting in our hotel room was dark. The beds seemed clean but everything else was dusty and old looking. The tub In our room also had spiders crawling all over. I wouldn’t suggest staying here unless you like spiders, roaches, and rude employees.

Waren im Oktober 2014 in diesem Hotel. Das Hotel ist sauber und im typischen amerikanischen style eingerichtet. Unser Zimmer war zum Innenhof/​Pool & es war sehr klein. Vergleichbar mit Hotels in New York City. Aber wir konnten uns damit sehr gut arrangieren. Das Zimmer wurde täglich gereinigt. Die Einrichtung war gut & es war alles vorhanden, was man benötigt. Wir hatten gratis WLan auf dem Zimmer, welches auch sehr gut funktioniert hat. In der Buchung war Frühstück inbegriffen & diese war typisch amerikanisch. Auswahl sehr klein & alles in Plastik & Pappe. Aber für uns kein Problem, Hauptsache was im Bauch. Man kann gegen Bezahlung direkt in der Tiefgarage des Hotels parken. Da ein Auto Voraussetzung für einen Urlaub in LA ist, ist es somit echt praktisch und super. LA ist mega weitläufig & die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel sollte man nicht gerade nutzen. Gegenüber vom Hotel ist ein kleiner Shop, wo man Getränke kaufen kann. Direkt neben dem Hotel ist ein Fast Food Restaurant. In ca. 5 Minuten Gehweg ist man auch gleich am berühmten Walk of Fame & Madame Tussaud.
Unsere Ausflugsziele haben wir von diesem Hotel super & schnell, wenn kein Stau war, erreicht.

If you’re looking for all the bells and whistles of a five star hotel, this isn’t it. However, if location is important, this was a great place to stay. We were a short walk from Hollywood. Several of our tours left from there, so this was perfect. They also have inexpensive parking, so that was convenient for our rental car, which is pretty much a necessity in LA. It’s a quick drive to Beverly Hills, a bit longer to downtown or the main beaches. Although a bit dated, the room was clean and the service was excellent. There is also an In N Out next door, but expect long lines! Breakfast is exactly what they say it is. Nothing spectacular, but a nice perk.

I stayed at the Days Inn Hollywood for 7 nights while taking a class north of LA which made it an easy 30 minute commute.
Very clean room a bit on the small side but nice big King size bed. Our room was a corner room facing the pool. Easy acces to the pool and reception area which looks very nice. Staff is very friendly and forthcoming.
Breakfast is a variety of bagels and toast as well as cereals juice coffee and tea. Also a frugt tray. Nothing fancy but fine.
Hotel is located on Sunset boulevard by La Brea and only 2 blocks about a 5 – 7 min walk to Hollywood boulevard and the walk of Stars and Highland centre where you can view the Hollywood sign.
Easy access to Highway 101 and only 2 exits from Universal Studios.
The hotel is very close to Beverly Hills and The Grove where I would recommend you go for dinner one night and maybe some shopping. Also Santa Monica was a 30 min drive before we enjoyed the Pacific and people watching.
The pool is smaller than it looks in the photos but warm and clean.
Would definetely return to the hotel again for an LA vacation.

To sum up the Days Inn Hollywood — great location, poor customer service, clean but tiny rooms, okay continental breakfast for $ 100/​night. Add $ 10/​car for parking.
We ran into all kinds of problems with the room. The first room we received had a leaky sink, so we were given another room on the other side of the hotel. That room’s showerhead didn’t work, so we were given a third room. It was oddly shaped and the view outside the window was a hallway. Strange. The tv stand was 1 foot away from the end of the bed, so it was also a tight squeeze. The room itself was clean (hard to tell how clean because the carpets were so dark).
Customer service was shitty. We had to keep changing rooms and the lady at the front desk was rude and not at all apologetic. Also, my friend checked in before I got there and was told that we could only get the AAA 10% off discount if we presented the card within an hour. Since I’m the one with the AAA card and didn’t get there til 2 hours later, we were SOL.
The one silver lining about the Days Inn is the location. There’s an In-​n-​Out directly next door. It’s 1 mile west of the Arclight Theater, a couple blocks south of Hollywood & Highland (Grauman’s Chinese Theater, Walk of Fame, etc.), and there’s lots of good eateries along Sunset Blvd.
So yes, you get what you pay for, and it may not matter if you don’t plan to spend much time in the room. Oh, and the continental breakfast, although not great, is an added bonus. Expect bagels, white/​wheat bread, cereal, juice, coffee, bananas, and individually packaged pastries.
