I can tell they care about their food and coffee. Saw it was rated high and had to try it out. Wonderful food and service.

Woohoo! As good as it gets! OMG ~ i love this place and i love benjamin and i love love love the cuban cappuccinos he made me and my girlfriend last saturday. the biggest cup and the perfect temperature and yum-a-licious. i’m sure his food is awesome too ~ haven’t even eaten there yet. It’s so refreshing to see an owner running his own business … and loving it! I vote with my dollars and i will always pick a local business, especially because i am a local business owner. It just makes sense. thank you benjamin ~ see you soon ! love, love

This place is awesome! The owner was so nice and welcoming and they had the most amazing coffee. The food is also super good and pretty cheap for the portion size. Would highly recommend this place. It’s a little out of the way but totally worth it.

A perfect café con leche, a guava filled pastelito and a croqueta. Hits the spot every time. This little place has home made sandwiches and breakfast fare — and great coffee. The friendly owner always has a smile on his face and makes you feel right at home. a patron here once paid for my order in a spontaneous Pay it Forward gesture of kindness. Sweet! This place has good vibes. There are only a few tables and a small counter, but I’ve never found the place to be full — though I have only come on weekday mornings for breakfast treats to-go. I so wish The place was open on Sundays for hangover brunch. It is usually closed on weekends. FYI Simple food, sweet service, sweet and simple prices — simply delicious. Please come — and pay it forward !

I love hispanic food. Unfortunately, I grew up in Belgium where it’s hard to find something authentic. So whenever I’m travelling to Spain or Miami, I’m looking for the real whole in the walls. The TL-Light kind of places which aren’t very cosy but you know, that the food will be good. El Cafecito is the definition of a local spot when landing in Fort Lauderdale. Pure Cuban service but they still speak English which is amazing to me in this area. I went and order the breakfast special which was a croquetta sandwich. A croquetta smashed between a Cuban sandwich with ham and cheese. Only the bread by itself, was amazing. It was plenty to get through the day and the flavours were spot on. It is a small place so it’s not very good with a group but they will handle it if you do. Very friendly, open and hospital. Did I mention it’s only 10 minutes by car from FLL? Perfect if you have a three hour layover and don’t want to deal with airport food. It’s definitely on my radar next time in Fort Lauderdale on my way to Miami

I really enjoyed this place. The service was quick and friendly as well as very attentive. It’s very cozy and welcoming inside, but the food and coffee is absolutely amazing. The eggs were fresh and perfectly cooked and the café con leche was the best I’ve ever had! I plan to make a few more visits to this spot whenever I’m back in town :-)

We were looking for a breakfast place and found this place through Unilocal… its a local neighborhood café with lot of potential… we parked on the parking structure, but if you go one street further down and park in the street, you can park for free for 3 hours. We went in, looked at the menu… looked like two person operation… one person cooking and the other person doing the rest… after five minutes or so, we were told to have a sit… water came and we ordered our food. I went with Cuban Sandwich and friend went with the Cuban bread Ham and Cheese sandwich and home potatoes. Ham n Cheese — not bad… but felt like something was missing in the sandwich… not sure what it was, but it didn’t wow the taste bud… Cuban Sandwich — this was good… I think the pork inside gave it the extra flavor to the sandwich. Café Cubano was excellent. I could have drank that all day… granted with less sugar! I hope this places does well and will be around when I revisit the area in about a year… Service was great, the owner(I think), was welcoming and checked up us… just keep in mind, when the place is busy, give yourself some time for the food to arrive.

The chicken empanadas were moist yummy. The cuban bread in the sandwiches is thin and crispy and buttered with a slightly salted butter.. . Delicious! The café is small with only 6 tables but it was clean and bright and inviting Great attentive service too!

This place has amazing cuban coffee.. It’s, a must try if you are a fan of strong but delicious coffees. It’s decently priced and if you are slightly hungry or just wanna try cuban bread you have to come here. I loved this place.

First place to visit right after a red eyed flight. Get the omelette with mixed greens and a caffe con leche get your day started. The food is very hearty, our waiter was very nice and easy to talk to. I had a very pleasant breakfast, you should too.

You know those little cafes that you see on TV where people just go and hang out and act like it is an extension of their home? This place feels like one of those. A friend and I ventured over here after seeing overwhelmingly great reviews on Unilocal. We drove around the area 5 times searching for this tiny little shop but for some reason my navigation app sent me everywhere but to this spot. After some assistance from some local Cubans, we were directed to this little gem. As you can expect in any really good Cuban café, there were a few obvious regulars sipping their coffee and reading the paper. Occasionally they’d holler at the owner who would chat with them for a bit. We arrived at a brunch-ish time and were told that they have limited hours and offerings on Saturdays, which I felt was understandable in an area such as this when business traffic would be minimal. The owner was very friendly and offered suggestions of what to order. I got a traditional cuban sandwich and a papaya shake. OMG, that papaya shake!!! It was so good that I forgot where I was and let out a scream of pleasure. My lunch companion would have likely been embarrassed if he wasn’t also having a mouth-gasm from his sandwich and coffee. This is one of those places that you wish you had down the street from your home. You’d probably visit every day if it was.

Fantastic café con leche! I stopped in here on my way to work to grab breakfast and was so glad to find it. The cafecito was delicious, the café con leche sublime and the customer service was spot on. It did take a very long time IMO for the omelette to come out with only one person being served. I wasn’t in a rush but I wouldn’t stop here if you don’t have time to spare.

Oh wow. Came here with my gf because it was close to the beach and on the way. Did not expect it to be amazing but I was hit by an explosion of flavors from the Cuban sandwich. The pork was so tender, juicy, and flavorful with the crispy bread. I’ve eating a lot of Cuban sandwiches in the Miami n FLL area. But this was the best sandwich I’ve had and that is saying a lot. The ham n cheese sandwich was OK but obviously the Cuban overshadowed it. Café con Leche was mediocre, I still haven’t found a place that makes it as good as Las Olas in miami.

Café con leche was great and held down my appetite as I waited for my breakfast which I thought took quite a while to come out. Cafecito omelette was very good and worth the wait. Can’t go wrong with Cuban bread toasted with butter.

El Cafecito is the place to go for the best Cuban Café con Leche. If you’re in Hollywood, FL make sure you drop in and have a taste. P. s. Breakfast was good too.
