Famous Hollywood Dental Care

FHDC was the dental office I chose after moving here 14 years ago, I found some good reviews and it was close to where I live. But today I feel it’s time to write a much deserved review after all of my years going here.
I’ve always had a good experience, from the free valet parking, super clean rock n roll building, gorgeous views, friendly Nina at the front desk, Shake’ who has been cleaning my teeth every single time I’ve been going; there is a great sense of consistency and care here.
Last week I had to go in to take care of an old filling and fill a cavity.
And I found myself talking with the Dr. Kalantari and wonderful Jose– her friendly tech assistant, and mentioned how impressed I am when ever I get the Novocain shot that I NEVER ever feel it –ever. Her technique is just superb, you actually are waiting for it to hurt and she’s already done. I’m always amazed, as I didn’t have the best experience when I was a kid. And I thought– I need to share this fantastic experience– this is why people don’t like to go into the dentist and let me tell you there is no reason to fear. There is never any pain. and she works so quickly, I’m in and out of there in under an hour.
I highly recommend Famous Hollywood Dental Care, they do care.

Absolutely fantastic experience! I had a great dentist back in Europe my entire life so was a little bit anxious when i moved to LA to try a new one. A piece of composite felt off my tooth so it was a bit of an emergency. They were able to schedule me in immediately for the next morning even as a new patient! Everyone was super professional, efficient and so sweet am actually looking forward to going back to finish my treatment. Felt pampered in the massage chair with a warm blanket, beautiful hollywood hills view & music are so suthing :)

I moved from NYC 6 months ago and know no dentists here. My boyfriend went through Unilocal reviews for me and gave me their number first to call and I was treated over the phone perfectly. My bf told me to call another place, because picking the first place seems strange, but after a horrible second call I immediately ran over to FHD and felt a huge wave of relief instantly. I called this morning with a dental emergency and was seen 45 min later. The payments were 100% transparent and clear, the support staff was professional and thorough, but it was the Doc that has made me a loyal patient. Life really is easier in Los Angeles! Basically, I am a harsh and judgemental NYer who found zero fault with this practice. Thank you.

they are a great team. They know how to make you feel comfortable and during a procedure they check to see if your doing okay.

This review is about the office not the dental care…
I recently had a disappointing experience with Hollywood Dental Care. I had scheduled a teeth cleaning that i unfortunately had to cancel the day before due to a work scheduling conflict. I didn’t see how there would be any issue. Well the next day I was told I would have to pay $ 50 dollar cancellation fee. I was shocked. Never EVER had this been discussed. But then it occurred to me. Since I’ve started my new job, I no longer had dental care so perhaps when I cancelled previously it wasn’t an issue because I had dental insurance that could be maxed out annually, which it was. I asked if they could make an exception and wave the fee that had never been discussed and if they could get back to me that would be great. Well, it’s been over a month and no word. Can’t say I’ve ever been more turned off by an office practice. I wonder how much my insurance paid out in the years I did go to them?
Insurance is a funny thing. We don’t think about it until it’s no longer there. Apparently Famous Hollywood Dental Care doesn’t think about its patients when the insurance is no longer there either.
Sadly now that I have written this I will never return. I can’t tell you how many times their office would call me when I had healthcare and then nothing. And sure, what’s $ 50 bucks? It’s not the money, it’s the principle.
MY RESPONSE to their response…
First, if you read this again, I did speak with your office and I asked if they could speak with you in hopes of waving this fee. I never heard back. That is why I posted this review.
For sake of argument, let’s say you are correct in saying I did not show up for «Several» appointments. If that were in fact true (which I would love to see records indicating this). Why wouldn’t just one person in your entire office tell me on one of those «several» occasions there would be a $ 50 dollar late fee assessed? Instead, I got a hesitant and uncertain reply of «I’m… sure we told you.» No, you did not. I’m a big boy. If you tell me I’m going to be changed a penalty fee, I make sure not to let that happen. If you tell me I need to cancel 48hrs prior, I’ll do that. Not the day before as I did in this case. But that was never communicated because by your rational, had it been communicated your office would not be getting this poor review.
Dentists are like mechanics. You just have to trust they are all being forthright. The reason I bring the insurance up is because I went from receiving calls and texts for appointments I didn’t request (basically endless unsolicited calls), to getting nothing at all after I informed your office I no longer had dental care and would have to pay out of pocket. Coincidence. Perhaps. Coincidence that I am now being assessed a $ 50 dollar fee for canceling the day before now that I no longer have insurance, when all those «several» times I missed prior, when I did have insurance, I was not charged a late fee? Perhaps. It’s disappointing to say the least. Good luck to you too.

I’ve been to 3 different (very highly rated on Unilocal) dentists in the last month.
I didn’t like the first 2 for various reasons.
I loved Famous Hollywood.
Dr. Kalantari, Jose and the rest of the staff were top notch.
I was there for a second opinion and they were very thorough and informative without being patronizing or alarmist. I felt like I had all the information I needed to make an informed decision on a procedure without any pressure to do it.
They even gave me an itemized invoice beforehand so I would know exactly how much it would cost.
I’m beyond satisfied with the work they did on my tooth.
Very happy I found them.

I would love to start by thanking each and everyone that helped me get through this experience. I always been scared of dentist and I couldn’t find one with good reviews with a good location until I found FAMOUS HOLLYWOOD DENTAL CARE, I love going to the dentist now. They treat you like family. Let me start by saying that Claudia (office manager) was amazing. She helped me with any questions and concerns I had and she is super sweet. Dr. Fariba and Dr. Shake’B, thank you so much for this experience. You guys took good care of me at all time. Jose S, you are an amazing person. Thank you for all the help and good conversation we had! If you need a dentist, this is the place to go !!!

I LOVE everyone at Famous Hollywood Dental Care, Dr. Kalantari, Shake’, Nina, Claudia, Jose. I’ve been a patient for years and couldn’t be happier with all of them. Incredibly skilled, thorough, kind and caring. I’d give them more stars if they were available. Beautiful views, state of the art equipment, you are in great hands the moment you come in to the moment you leave. I like the massage exam chairs too :)

I can’t say enough nice things about the helpful, kind, and incredibly skilled team at Famous Hollywood Dental Care, but I’m going to try anyway.
I went in for a cleaning/​checkup/​xray since I hadn’t had any of that done in years. I wasn’t made to feel ashamed for waiting so long and in fact was assured (with a smile), «You’re here now.» During the cleaning/​exam, I was checked in on to make sure I was comfortable/​if I needed water. Oh! And the exam chair has a massage function. How neat is that?
Jose did my xrays but I hardly even noticed since he was so quick and, even without drugs, had me laughing the whole time. He also showed me all of my teeth (and where any problems were) which was probably the first time at the dentist where I’ve actually SEEN my teeth and had everything explained to me.
Oh, and in case you need MORE incentive, the views are unreal and they validate parking! I… actually can’t wait to go back for my next cleaning. I love this place.

Thank you thank you thank you for helping me when I was in pain. I had a filling covering a cavity that was hitting a nerve. I called them and explained my situation as best as I could. Within minutes they referred me to a great endodontist. This morning I woke up in pain and by 10:30 they were numbing me up. I cannot say thank you enough for such kind and caring help.

No one likes going to dentist, at least… I hope most sane people don’t enjoy it.
This office, on the other hand, is great. I was able to switch from my dentist in my hometown to my new dentist here in Hollywood with a simple call. Claudia was incredibly helpful, not only in getting me into their office for an appointment (which was super quick) but also with insurance, referrals, etc.
The entire staff and team upon arrival was knowledgable, thoroughly explained everything and very friendly. They welcomed me to their practice and I felt right at home.
Dr. Kalantari is warm and comforting as a dentist. Especially when she has to bear the bad news that you have to get 5 fillings. I just had mine filled today and can actually say… it wasn’t a horrific experience. In fact, it was no sweat. I’ve never been able to say that about a dentist before. Here it is just a few hours after and besides a little sore jaw, I feel normal.
I highly recommend this office to anyone searching for a fantastic dentist office.
They also validate parking. Hallelujah! There is hope for Hollywood! :)

I just had my first visit for a Zoom! whitening procedure. The office is really nice and the staff is wonderful. The person who took care of me during the procedure was extremely professional and nice. I went there just to have my teeth whitened, but I have decided to make them my primary dentist for all visits. I highly recommend this place!

Best dentist ever — friendly, efficient, courteous, and beautiful office!
I have been to 6 dentists in 6 different cities over the past 10 years, and Dr. Kalantari and her staff have been by far the absolute best all around.
I just had my second visit to Famous Hollywood Dental Care. What makes the office so great starts with the booking process — everyone is very friendly, and careful to explain your options to make sure you make the choice that is both most economical and best for your health. For example, I had recently moved from Boston and was encouraged to order X-​rays my previous dentist had on file rather than paying for a new set I didn’t need yet.
You receive friendly reminders a few days in advance of your appointment via text message and email that you can respond to automatically — very convenient! I had to change an appointment and when rescheduling for a different day, was asked if I was okay with having a different hygienist vs. my last appointment. I didn’t mind at all since I knew everyone at the office was great, but was happy that they asked me about this.
Upon arriving at the office, I received a wonderful greeting and was very pleased with how well-​designed the office was, as well as its beautiful views of the Hollywood Hills. Every single person who worked there was very kind, friendly, and courteous, and made me feel like a welcomed, valuable customer. You also get free parking!
I’ve been very happy with the quality of the dentistry as well — every time you enter /​leave the office you will feel great about your decision and your teeth will thank you too!

I had my first visit to Famous Hollywood Dental Care, and I was very impressed. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and they have a fantastic office space! I felt very welcomed from the first minute that I called to make my appointment. I am confident that I have made the right choice in dentists (which, btw, my decision was based on the reviews on Unilocal)
Would it be weird to say that I am looking forward to my next dentist appointment? Well, I am!

I went threw about 10 bad dental offices before I found this place! This place worked with my insurance, and worked with me when my insurance ran out, they even treated me and let me go on a payment plan when I couldn’t pay for the work but I really needed it. It doesn’t t get better than this. The staff is so caring and they all are so nice and do a great job. AND their dental office chairs have a soothing massage button so you feel so relaxed while getting your teeth cleaned. Also a great view! I recommend this place for all your dental needs! SO NICE!

i’ve never been to a dentist and liked my experience. I doubt a lot of people have. At Hollywood Dental, not only is the staff and dentist friendly and loving, they don’t just seem like doctors. They seem like your friends! They love to help you and especially with my mouth (which needs what seems like my entire life to work on my teeth…) they seem very helpful in getting me through my entire dental process.

I found Hollywood Dental through my insurance carrier after I fought a losing battle with an aching tooth. Did I mention that I was TERRIFIED of the Dentist???
The receptionist who answered my call was sweet, warm and caring once I explained how afraid I was. She immediately put me at ease, well as much ease as one could feel upon setting up a dentist appointment.
Upon entering their office and meeting their staff I was even more impressed with the personal treatment they gave everyone. The hygienist and dentist were both versed in my phobia and took their time to make me feel comfortable.
There were no high pressure sales to get me purchase other treatments (i.e. teeth whitening). They explained everything in detail of what they were going to do and what would need to be done in the future — a crown for my cracked tooth.
I would HIGHLY recommend these guys to anyone, especially if you are afraid to go to the dentist even for a simple cleaning.

I found this awesome dental group while searching for a good dentist in the Hollywood area. After going through multiple dental groups, this one pulled me right in.
The staff is extremely kind! They really make you feel like they care about you and not just your money. When Nina called to update me on my appointment, she was nice enough to ask me about my wisdom tooth pain i was experiencing last week.
If you are searching for a dental care group, I highly recommend Hollywood Dental Care.

I originally found Hollywood Dental through 1−800-Dentist and had no idea what to expect but it was close to my home. Now I have such a high caliber of service to compare to that I may never find a dental office in NY (where I now live) that comes anywhere close to the exceptional quality I received from Dr. Kalantari and her amazing team. Beautiful state of the art office, environmentally friendly services, super sweet and very personable staff… and great dentistry to boot. I will miss my favorite dental hot-​spot!!!
Plus the view from their office is AWESOME… and that helps any procedure feel better!

Had my first visit here today. I was more than impressed with the friendly and courteous staff, who all introduced themselves to me and shook my hand. The hygienist was extremely gentle, and my cleaning was one of the best I’ve ever had. I would recommend this place to anyone who is unhappy with their current dental care facility.
