My son Brandon and I have shot with John three times over the past few years…
John is AMAZING and easy and FUN to shoot with! Our agents love his work (um we do too!) and he uses natural light… exciting outdoor locations too that make you feel like you’ve already made it! LOL! I can personally say that over the 20 some years I’ve had my head shots taken, John is the only one that I literally can choose more than 30 shots that I really like (those aren’t the ones the agent chooses though… hahahha) Thanks John! You are a true professional and way cool guy. Cute too!

I had my second shoot with John… I liked him a lot the first time and really loved my second shoot…
He challenged me to try different looks and angles on my face, which threw me out of my comfort zone (in a good way) AND he kept reminding me of how best to place my arms and hands to get the best angle out of my body. Not that I «need» that b/​c I model as well, but John was very attentive and is a very detail-​oriented and affable soul. He’s quick and so «on“that his energy gets contagious.
Well, I love that the shots I got are natural yet super appropriate for theatrical and commercial usage b/​c he got the right energy to come forth… I had so much fun!
He has sooo many backgrounds to shoot on and then we wandered a bit around the area for awesome outdoor shots which I always prefer, although natural lighting is also used when inside.
I would most certainly shoot with him again, although he has so many other projects going on he’s super busy!

John Allen Phillips and the ClickWest team are thorough professionals. Working in the Entertainment Industry as I do, I know how important it is to have the proper image, whether you work in front of or behind the camera, it matters! Today I received yet another compliment on one the Head Shots that John took, he captured ‘Me’ — I always recommend John Allen Phillips and ClickWest to my colleagues and those looking for top notch photos.

The last 2 photo sessions I shot have been with Click west. I feel so lucky to have booked a few national commercials, and a small reoccur on a network show recently and it it JP’s photo that got me in those rooms! Thats a great photo that is doing it’s job! (and you have to do your job too of course). JP certinly takes care of his end, he knows his light, the timing, framing, and he knows how to get the best out of you. He is super friendly, easy to work with, he creates a really nice relaxed environment, and a great product. My agents always ask who took my shots. I get comments like «great headshot» from strangers, or «you look exactly like your picture» from casting directors. Couldnt ask for anything more!

Made an appointment for head shots back in December. For context I paid for the $ 450 premium package. During the shoot, I had a great time. John and the makeup artist were very relaxing and made the whole day enjoyable. It was fun and John did a great job of making me feel at ease, helping to select the wardrobe for the shots, etc. The quality of the photos were fantastic IMO.
The reason for the 1 star is due to the fact that I feel like I paid upfront, in good faith, for services that I did not get. For context, the premium package I paid for indicated on the Click West website that I’d get the photos within (I believe) 48 – 72 hours. Back in December, I had to politely follow-​up after the shoot a couple time to get the photos. It was definitely not the 48 – 72 hours advertised on Click West website. But, honestly, I wasn’t in a rush back then and thought the couple extra days were no big deal. Plus, I liked the photos so much that I paid (again upfront) for retouches on a couple of them in mid-​December. But, as of April I have never received those photos. I have sent multiple emails to John to follow-​up and feel that I’ve been more than patient. Finally — and four months later and haven gotten no response to my most recent emails — I was left with no choice but to dispute the payment for the retouches via PayPal. It’s very — very — disappointing. (And for those who may not know, as I did not — after 45 days PayPal can’t give you a 100% refund. They were able to give me a partial refund, but I basically paid out money for the retouches that I will not get back.)
As mentioned above — the experience during the shoot was fun and great, and the quality of the photos I did get were superb. It’s clear that John is a great photographer. As much as I would love to be able to recommend Click West — I just can’t. It’s very disappointing to feel like you have to chase someone for services when you paid them upfront, in good faith.

Normally, going into a head shot session there’s a bit of give and take between the photographer and the actor. It normally takes a while for me to get comfortable, especially when shooting in an outdoor and somewhat uncontrolled environment.
John did a great job of making me feel at ease and comfortable in my own skin, making it much easier to get some great shots. He really seems to understand light in a way that makes the photos seem very natural.
In a time when photographers are thinking they’re creating more demand by charging almost a thousand bucks for a session, Click West’s price point is awesome!
I understand John is working on getting together a complete interior space he can work with. I will be back for sure.

Pretty much blown away by the professionalism, skill and speed with which we were able to achieve a variety of looks. Now that I’m looking through all the shots after, I’m even more impressed!!!
What I loved was how John asked exactly what I was trying to achieve in terms of looks, and then combined that with his artistic sensibility to create some great shots. What a gift to find a photographer that puts in the extra energy to make sure you leave happy. Needless to say, my reps are thrilled.

I came to JP after a few years of searching for the right photographer.
There is no right photographer, but I definitely clicked with Jp (haha, pun intended.:)
Here’s what I liked:
He took my phone call instead of directing me to his site
He took over 700 photos
Uses indoor and outdoor lighting.
He’s pretty zen. Had some Buddha stuff in his house. That’s a plus for me.
He directs not only your expressions but also your posture. This was a big one for me because in the past I have had photos that I couldn’t use because I do this funny thing with my chin and it makes me look like I have no neck. Needless to say, some of the photos I got back had this issue, but I had many others to choose from.
Here’s what I didn’t like:
It took 2 days to get my proofs back.
Usually he posts the proofs on argentum website but argentums was closed for the holidays so I just got a drop box folder of the proofs.
Overall, the good outweighed the bad so much, I had to give him 5 stars.
Something else I liked was that he’s is always looking for a shot. He was always on. He got some cool shots of me while I was getting my makeup done.

John is an absolute gem. I work with photographers constantly and it’s not easy to find one that is both talented and grounded, real and fun. He took the time to think through the backgrounds that complimented my looks and did not rush through the day. He even reshot a series that had lighting issues just to be safe. I am very critical of my photos and I found more than a dozen GREAT shots. I could not be more pleased to have found Click West. There’s absolutely no need to spend $ 700 on head shots in L.A. John’s work is fantastic and a bargain. Highly recommend!

I just had my 3^rd shoot @ Clickwest today. It went great! I am always happy with the results. John is so professional. The atmosphere is completely comfortable and relaxed. He is super efficient and fun! What more could you want from a photographer? Plus he has the best price for this professional level!

Just had my second session today. My last one was two years ago. I finally found an agent that had a plan for me and wanted new headshots. So naturally I thought of John Philliips. Like I said before, John has a great personality and makes you feel like your long time friends. I told him what my new agent wanted; young, energy, fun, funny, and tech guy. John immediately knew what to do and how to achieve those looks. John knows his style and how to make your looks come through with it. Again, this is a no brainer. I have used him twice and each time I was amazed and proud of my headshots. I see myself, which is what you want. Thank you John… again!

$ 295 for 5 looks! And you get all your photos on a CD right after the shoot (it just takes an hour or so). He is the coolest and a total professional… he knows his camera and lighting very well. Now, I’m an actor, not a model so I still get camera shy… and I feel like I’m boring the photographer with the same old pose but, you’re in good hands with John. He gives you your freedom to be as natural as possible but, for those who need some technical assistance like «turn a little that way, chin up/​down, rest your eyes, etc… he’ll take over when he has to. He’s also an actor himself so he understands actors. that’s gotta give him more street cred. I can go on and on about how great he is but, if you need new headshots, shoot with him. Great photos, great times, great price. What more can you ask for? Seriously. Thank you John!

John is a professional, highly enjoyed working with him as he just doesn’t take your photo but helps you get the shots you want.

i’d have to say most of my shots were unusable. the pictures themselves came out great but the photos are framed with like half of the top of my head gone or the picture is done at some piss poor angle where my face is diagonal from corner to corner. it seemed to me there wasn’t a straight shot in the bunch
