After two months of research and testing, the winner of the USB turntable war is Stanton. However, the included software (Cakewalk Pyro 5) does not enable you to listen to your music while recording! That totally SUCKS!!! I wasted one month of trying to get some support from Cakewalk (the software company). No call backs. No follow up e-​mails. Nada! I only received their daily spam e-​mail announcements! Three stars gone! I really hope my review gets Googled so that other consumers like me can get a positive feedback from Stanton or Cakewalk. I’ve finished about a crate of vinyl and still get a few re-​recordings because I wasn’t satisfied with the sound quality. Its not the vinyl. It’s not the turntable… Its not the USB connection. Its not me! It’s the dayam software program!!! If anyone knows any helpful tips, please let me know! Meantime, I’m just suffering with Cakewalk. AND IF YOU’RE FROM CAKEWALK… HERE’S MY SIMPLE MESSAGE: YOU’RE CAKEWALK PURO5 SOFTWARE SUCKS!!!

Here’s a few pointers that I would like to add to the Cnet review: And other things that should have been said during my research before buying this turntable.
— This is a magnet driven turntable. Avoid the other ones (belt driven) that are sold at Costco or the record stores.
— This is ideal for professional DJ’s and vinyl collectors wishing to convert there precious vinyl into MP3’s
— No sound check while recording. The Cakewalk program sucks. Yes, I’m going to say it again and again.

Can I use it as a regular turntable with my stereo? Yes, audio connections are available as well as RCA cables.
Dust cover included: Yes, cheap fabric cover
