I’m only going to give this place 2 stars because of the horrible service. It was for take-​out too.
I went on Sat., morning, before they opened, was the first in line so I could surprise my house guests with so fab food. Again, I have to reiterated, I arrived ½ hr before they opened and was the FIRST in line. Once they opened, I was directed to the back next to the kitchen and computer. So I stood there waiting for 10 minutes while they help seat customers. Then I tried to flag a staff down only to be told that the sitting customers get priority. WTF?!
After all the people who where in line BEHIND me were seated, I thought, «great, I’m next». But then all the servers started bringing water and coffee to the patrons.
I was fed up and found the host who told me to wait a few minutes but I explained to him that I was the FIRST in line. He then apologized and try to get me a server to take my order. This guy Tony said it was another servers job but he’ll just help me. (I was actually appreciative as he probably had tables to attend to too so I gave him a $ 5 tip– just for taking my order).
The rest of the ordeal was decent. Two servers were debating who should pack my takeout order.
Food was good as expected but the experience left me with bad taste in my mouth.
For the owner, I know you have a huge following but how would you feel if u planned your morning out only to be hindered by some douchie workers.

Love this place for breakfast every time I get to LA I stop in. It is packed and often has a line out front. What does that tell you when folks stand in line (smiling) waiting for their turn to eat here? Today I had The Yellow Brick Road Pancake! butterscotch, caramel and walnuts in a ginormous pancake a bit larger than a large dinner plate. I was unable to finish even a third of it but look forward to nibbling it later on!
I also want to say everyone I have encountered here is kind, courteous and friendly. However I will make special mention of Eric and Tony.

So good! I love a hearty breakfast!
My omelette was perfect. Cheesy. Chicken was tinder. Potatoes were hot.
Next time I want to try the pancakes but I need someone to share them with! Any takers? Ha!

The biggest and most delicious pancakes you’ve ever had… EVER!
Soooooo good. Very reasonably priced — about $ 10pp unless you order something other than pancakes. But if you don’t want pancakes, don’t come here!
Pancakes as big as… God, I don’t know. They’re HUGE. You’ll be eating them for a week!
All kinds of toppings.
Want Oreo pancakes? They got em.
Want strawberries & fresh whipped cream? They got em!
Bananas? Carmel? Chocolate chips? DONE!
Go for pancakes! Don’t be a freak and order something else. Nothing is as good as the pancakes!

Let’s be honest, you can’t got wrong here!
It’s a hot spot in the city. But the quality is up to par with that!
Waffles, pancakes, eggs Benedict and co… It’s all good.
If you’re upset the way it looks, please go elsewhere. If you’re a foodie. You’re at the right location.

Ammmmmaaaazing so delicious and worth the wait! I can’t believe I’m saying that because I never wait in lines for more than 10 minutes for food but this line was about 15 minutes and worth every minute.
These are the most delicious pancakes in the universe I dare anybody to try to finish one as they are ginormous! I also love the Papas y poached eggs Benedict! The Music was also a big hit it’s an experience going there and there’s also a secret room in the back! my suggestion is to split pancakes with somebody and then share something savory. You will be in a food coma!!! I had the golden ticket which are banana pancakes with walnuts and Caramell and whip cream and we shared those w the poached eggs Benedict!!! W potatoes!

The food was delicious. I ordered the «not so secret» french toast, which is amazing! It’s a cinnamon streusel crusted french toast. The portion size is pretty large, so I ended up taking the 2^nd piece home and reheating in the toaster — still just as good.
I’ll say what they are known for is their giant, ridiculously portioned pancakes. Which, ¾ of our table did order these. however, keep in mind it’s like 10″ personal pizzas… but instead of pizzas, you get 3 large fluffy pancakes. And often, they are covered in butter, whip, or something super sweet.
So, be wise and share. Otherwise you’ll end up fairly miserable like most of the table.
All the pancakes were delicious, so just pick something that you’re okay with taking home and eating there.
As a note, they’re pretty good as leftovers if you heat them up over the pan again. In fact, probably easier to eat this way.
But if you’re not ready to take it home… or just don’t want to, it’s a pretty incredible amount of food waste. :(

So many feelings when I went to griddle today:
— Arrived at 11:30 on a Sunday, 2.5 hour wait — not fun
— The Golden Ticket Pancakes — how are these even real, it doesn’t make sense for them to taste so good, I don’t even like pancakes and I couldn’t stop
— Good selection of tacos, got the «Kicking and Screaming» — it has really good creamy sauce
— Rest of the food (besides the pancakes) was good, but wasn’t amazingly special
— Service ended up being mediocre, the kitchen forgot one of our orders so we had to cancel a dish, we were missing some side dishes, had the wrong food come to our table a few times
I think I would go back because the pancakes are basically made in heaven and carried down by breakfast food angels, but I’m definitely going to try to go earlier to skip the ridiculous line and crazy brunch rush that possibly led to chaotic service.

We arrived at the Griddle around 10:30am and the line was crazy! But i would say 45 minutes wait was really worth it. Whoever got called in, the whole line was watching them entering the restaurant with jealous eyes!
Food was amazing! Recommend the coconut pecan flavored pancake (only ordered 1 bc nobody can finish 3… there was a table of 4 sitting next to us and they only finished a quarter of the 3 pancakes…) and omelete my soul and two eggs over hard.

Pancakes as big as truck tires. And they’re good! I usually end up with the Fiesta Scramble — which is very tasty and filling and served with some awesome sourdough toast with peppers and cheese.
Service can be a little slow because this place is pretty much always packed. And the whole coffee thing (press down after 2 minutes) seems like a lot of show for what is actually not very good coffee. As everyone knows, unless you show up super early, you’ll be in a line. I can’t stand waiting in lines (especially outside on a sidewalk), so I don’t bother going unless I can be there very early.
But the little hassles are part of the experience. And the Griddle remains a MUST experience.

Nearly 4500 reviews with close to five stars says a lot about this place. Believe the hype. These are the pancakes of the gods, and the portions are so big, don’t even think Even he can eat it all. I couldn’t even finish one of the three. An order at 12 dollars feeds possibly 6 – 8 people. Easily four or five.
Ordered a third order of Oreo pancakes and the golden ticket.
Golden ticket is absolutely where it’s at. Their signature dish, German strudel infused pancakes, with a sweetness that requires absolutely no syrup, the taste is utter bliss.
Oreo pancake is great, too, but not equal to golden ticket.

I came here with 2 girlfriends and we each ordered an entrée along with «The Golden Ticket» pancakes. BAD IDEA. We were so overwhelmed with the size of the pancakes that we each only took about 3 – 4 bites, leaving a ridiculous amount of left over. The pancakes-​without a doubt — were delicious, but just very overwhelming.
My advice — order the pancakes alone… or order them to share with more than 3 people.
I ordered «Gone Shrimping» as my entrée… and honestly, it was just alright. It lacked a bit in flavor. My girlfriend on the other hand ordered the «Poached y Papas Benedict», and I wished I had ordered that instead. (I had a couple bites of hers & it was goooood!)
This place is definitley worth checking out if you’re in the L. A area.

Honest opinion: no one really needs that much pancake. Let’s be honest, it’s 2016 and a pancake that feeds 4 with sugar and whip cream and Oreos all over it isn’t exactly healthy. Or necessary.
There is something here for everyone but I don’t really think it’s worth it. I live around the corner and feel astonished daily that people will line up and hang out all around the area for breakfast food. Esp when at off times, like before 8am and after lunch… There’s no line at all.
The patio is about 3 tables on the sidewalk of Sunset, with tons of people walking by as you eat.
I think if you have friends in town that want to check it out– then maybe. But just to go and wait– no thanks :) plenty of amazing other breakfast spots.

Small spot with giant, I mean GIANT food. Mid week, mid morning is the best and fastest time to try this Hollywood hot cakes café. You can park for freeeee behind the Rite Aid just ask the lot attendant for a ticket for validation.
There were three of us and we waited maybe 5min. To be seated. It’s a tight squeeze once inside but spacious enough tables and countertops for the giant plates of cakes! We read a few reviews and took the advice to ½ order and to share. Even then, we still had over ½ of our food left over!
A most definitely 5 star «I’m a pancake princess I know» great food, service and location review!

I heard about this place from a friend and decided to visit and try their infamously large pancakes!
FOOD:
We ordered the Black Magic pancake (Oreo pancake) and shared it with 3 people. We also got their omelette, which I didn’t like because the egg texture and thickness was weird.
The Black Magic pancake was humongous. I think it took us 3 days to finish it and we didn’t even end up finishing it because it didn’t taste good by then. It was actually pretty good — not overly sweet like you would think.
I’ve also heard great things about their crème de la crème, which I will order next time I’m in LA :) It basically tastes like cheesecake and french toast, which sounds amazing to me!
SERVICE:
Attentive and nice! The food came out fast and despite the long lines, we didn’t have to wait that long to be seated.
VERDICT:
I think most people probably come here for the experience and the instagram pictures: P The food itself wasn’t to die for, but it was a great experience to eat the oreo pancakes and the omelettes. Prices are so reasonable, and it’s a cute brunch spot if you really do love pancakes.
P. S. There’s parking for this place behind the restaurant!

Even though the name of this establishment is The Griddle Café, I came for breakfast tacos. Why? Because tacos. But is this kind of like going to a burger restaurant and getting upset because they don’t have good chicken? Sorta… I’m still kind of torn on the issue. On one hand, if an establishment puts it on the menu, it’s fair game to criticize. But on the other hand, it’s clearly a pancake joint right? I mean it’s sort of known for that.
But I’m a tourist and I don’t actually know what’s good there. So tacos it is! And they were okay I guess. A pretty good size, but it was also two tacos for what turned out to be fifteen dollars. They were kind of bland, but the avocado was nice. The refried beans on the side were okay, but needed some flavor.
I’ve only visited the greater West Hollywood area once, but Unilocal said that this was the only place nearby that had breakfast tacos. So maybe there isn’t much demand. Or maybe there is a demand and nobody knows it. Time will tell.

There’s always a wait at this place. All the items that we ordered were really good and we left so full. I had French Toast, which was just the right amount of food. My friend who ordered the pancakes, was more overwhelmed than anything else with the plate. The 3 large pancakes are just MASSIVE. It can easily be shared between 3 – 4 people. It was a huge waste. She ended up throwing away 2 of the pancakes. So sad! One of my friends had a sandwich with fries. I tried the fries and they’re delicious. Love the seasoning that’s used for the fries.
Of course we went here on a Sunday without knowing their hours. It was shortly before closing, and the guy seating us was pissy about it. Thank god he didn’t wait on us. Our food came out quickly after ordering.
Plenty of street parking at the meters.
A must try place! Order the pancakes, have a piece and send the rest to all the starving kids around the world. Trust me, it’s enough.

After hearing about this for years from frequent LA visitors from Chicago, with me now living here and them visiting, we went together. I tried to keep my carb intake in check so I knew my meal wouldn’t be the enormous pancakes. In fact, all three of us ordered egg dishes and got a pancake to share.
EGGS: Tequila Sunrise, their version of Huevos Rancheros, was delicious. The ranchero sauce was great, the eggs were cooked perfectly, the tortillas and beans and cheese and everything just mashed up together into goodness. I added an avocado and you should too.
PANCAKE: I guess normal orders come with three (three!!) of these creations that are too big to fit on a plate. My veteran companions knew that one would be enough for the three of us to share as a side, and they were right. We ordered the Scotch on the Rocks, which is butterscotch chips, coconut, pecans and oats, topped with whipped cream. It seemed like the oats/​nuts/​chips weren’t evenly distributed. If you got a bite with them, it all tasted great. If you just got pancake, it wasn’t anything interesting. The pancake, on its own, was fairly bland.
At 8 am on a Wednesday morning, we were seated with no wait and had prompt service. I’ll be back for the eggs!

Finally got a chance to try it out. I loved it!
It started with a 20 minute wait, which is apparently good, and it just opened. We all ordered a couple of plates to share.
Ordered a Crème DE LA Crème, Baked Potatoes Omelet, and a Mixed Veggies Omelette. They were all delicious.
So to the best part, the food. The mixed veggies omelette was okay. It was a custom made omelette. It was just okay.
Baked potato omelette. Was delicious. They ingredients were super good and the egg part was super thick. It was a great combination. Should have gave the chef a hug after that.
The best part for me was the crème de la crème. I was crying the entire time while eating it. It was French toast covered in like a cheesecake type crème. It was amazing. I should have high fived the chef and then give him a hug and a selfie. I was amazed.
They sat us in a VIP room. I think this happened because they were running out of space. The whole room was lit with a red light. Everything in there was red and kind of hard to see and take good pictures of the food.
Try it out if your in Hollywood. You will not be disappointed.
Get there early to try and avoid a long wait.

Giant delicious pancakes! One can probably feed 5ppl. Loved ‘Here Me Roar’ — frosted flakes strawberry! Great place to take breakfast diner lovers! More causal than a diner.
Super busy joint. Full of people! If a weekday was that crowded, I can’t imagine how a weekend will be. Limited but there are meter street parking.
For such a gigantic pancake, it was actually very very delicious. You’d think the quality would get diluted but it was perfect.

The Griddle Café was packed when we got there at 10 am on Friday. Parking was a cinch as the lot in the back of the building was reserved for CVS and Griddle Café. There was a person handing a parking ticket which could be validated at either of those two establishments. Digression — when we left, there was no parking personnel in sight, and the exit was not staffed, so we drove away. Not sure what the use of the parking attendant was, if on the back end they do not check the parking ticket.
We ordered the Black Magic (Oreo Cookie) pancakes, and a breakfast taco. When the pancakes arrived, there was nothing to prepare us for the huge size of the pancakes. Easily, they could have fed a hungry table of three-​four, with possible left overs. It tasted great, and with all effort and might, less than a ¼ of the Black Magic order was consumed by our party of two — leaving a heaping mass of a to go order to be packed. Aside from the initial novelty of being surprised by the gigantic size of the order, I probably would prefer that they downsize the order — it still would be a great dish.
The breakfast tacos were spot on — scrambled eggs that were not overcooked, and a right balance of cheese, with avocados. Definitely a light meal order compared to the Black Magic (and their other pancake options).
Having commented that downsizing their pancake order above, if they don’t, I can seen the benefit of taking a friend their for the first time for them to be amazed and overwhelmed by their pancake order.

My first time in LA and I was recommended to eat here so I came and WOW!
We found parking right outside and there was no wait time. We sat and our waiter immediately welcomed us and offered suggestions.
I had the Grilled Chicken & avocado sandwich (with bacon) and French fries, which was absolutely phenomenal. The chicken was lean and juicy. There were three cheeses and you can taste each, and the bacon! The bacon was thick cut and perfectly crisp. The steak fries were lightly seasoned and so yummy!
My friend had the blueberry pancake which was bigger than the plate itself! It was covered in powdered sugar which was delectable. She also had Chicago Charlie’s Special Eggs which was a large serving and very well scrambled.
Our server checked on us a couple times and was very nice and helpful. It was a great time and I will definitely be back!

The best bang for your buck! It takes at least 3 people to eat one of their pancake stacks — which only costs $ 13. If you’re in Los Angeles, you have to go here. Worth the hour wait on the weekends!

First things first–
The wait is always, always long.
They won’t seat you unless your whole party is there.
The portions are huge… so share, if you can!
The servers are friendly and hilarious.
The portions are legitimately MASSIVE, and perhaps enough to feed a decent sized family if they’re looking for a snack. My sister and I shared the black magic pancakes and barely made a dent in them. In past visits, I’ve also had the breakfast burrito (also huge) and the red velvet pancakes (if I’m not mistaken, this is the only pancake you can get in a single portion instead of a stack of 3).

Let’s start with the two and half hour wait that my family and I waited. While waiting, I saw larger parties that arrived after us get sat before us. The host did not know how to seat a restaurant and his notepad was a complete disaster — I don’t even know how he understood how to seat someone with that mess.
Then we finally get our table– host just hands our menus to us and points in the direction of the table… customer service doesn’t exist here
The food is average, I used to think it tasted great but after all of the negative feels I got– it put a bad taste in my mouth.

Such a popular breakfast place! The location is prime, and the crowd is hippie. After all, this is the heart of Hollywood where hipsters do dream about becoming directors, writers, and actors while dinning right next to the Guild.
Our waiting time was well estimated (15 mins) according to the host. We were led to the interesting part of seats — a U-​shaped low bar with giant industrial range hoods above. There were about 20 seats around this bar and you can see the kitchen action. The empty center of the bar was a clever runway for the waiters and bus boys to hand out food directly from the kitchen. So efficient. However, for the whole time I was sitting, the wind blowing out of the range hood directly to my face was quite unpleasant. In addition, the chair was tiny and there was no place to hang my purse. So I held it on my knees the whole time like I was eating at a subway fast food station in Tokyo or Hong Kong. I can’t image if anyone came in with a backpack or a suitcase of electronics. I get when you are in a prime real estate location, every square inch means profit. But what about the basic comforts of dinning experience?
Food–
Beautiful presentation just like what you see in most LA breakfast places. My pesto shrimp scrambled eggs (Gone Shrimping) were «love-​at-​first-​sight.» However the taste was a bit too light. I was expecting a yummy sensation in the mouth. It wasn’t quite so.
My partner-​in-​crime had the French toast. It was fatty and huge. He enjoyed every bite of it.
Interesting note on the French pressed coffee– it’s endless refill and fairly decent. However the per person price was nowhere stated on the menu. Yeah, who has the nerve to ask how much coffee cost! But, don’t we deserve to know? When the bill came it was $ 4.50 per person. Not outrageous, definitely not cheap neither. I would only think that it was a clever way of earning profit through non-​disclosure of prices at a breakfast place. After all, how many people order breakfast without having coffee? And how many people really have the nerve to ask how much it is? Hmm, classic Seinfeld kinda real life tricks for sure.
And therefore, the three stars from me.

I went here a couple weeks ago for my BFF’s day. She had seen this place on Man Vs. Food or something like that and she was dying to go. «Shauncy the pancakes are bigger than you hand, and they give you more than 1!» Alright after she gave me the schpiel, I was down to go.
The layout of the place is super tight, and they are usually really packed. They have a bar area as well as tables and booths, but everything is really close together. While we were waiting for our table I had to use the restroom and walking to the bathroom was tough because it’s in the rear of the restaurant, because there’s one narrow walkway to get there. Once I made it to the bathroom I had to wait because there was only a single stall, but it was clean and spacious.
The menu is HUGE, and I really wish they had pictures lol. They have a really large variety of egg scrambles and large speciality pancakes. I ordered the «Chicago Charlie’s» Scramble Italian sausage, potatoes, bacon, bell peppers, mozzarella cheese, garlic, basil and lots of onions. served with garlic bread. I added cheddar cheese, tomatoes, jalapenos, and it was sooooooo delicious. They were really accommodating and they didn’t charge me an arm and a leg for the extra items. I also got one side of the House french toast which was the bomb! I ordered green tea for my drink and they brought it out in a cute clear tea kettle.
My friends ordered, the red velvet pancake, the golden ticket, and the cookie and cream waffle. The red velevet and the golden ticket were really good and the sweetness wasn’t too overwhelming. Now the cookies and cream pancakes were just a little too sweet for me, there were cooking in the pancake and the frosting was sweet like cake fristing, ugh not for me.
The food was amazing and the service was great! I just wish they’d move to a bigger location.

This is one of the best breakfast joints in LA. You will likely leave this place with a food coma. The menu here is extensive. You may need a good 5 minutes or so to go through it. This place is known for their pancakes. I would recommend getting a short stack pancake (one pancake), and trust me it’s plenty to share.
I came here on two different occasions. I’ve had the following:
Egg whites w/​turkey bacon, tomatoes and spinach– I modified this dish, since I was trying to eat clean.
French Toast– two HUGE french toast w/​powder sugar. It was fluffy and the portions were big enough to share.
Golden Ticket pancakes– These pancakes were ridiculously HUGE. Between 4 people, we were unable to finish it. The pancakes were delicious, but after a couple bites, you lose the flavor and the last thing I wanted to think about was pancakes.
Eggs Benedict– probably one of the best eggs benedict I’ve had. The eggs benedict was over a crispy potato, and their sauce was rich and we added extra avocados, which was delicious.
Also, I had their fresh squeezed orange juice and it was definitely fresh. You could taste the pulp.
The prices are reasonable here and if you’re lucky you may catch a celebrity there while you’re dining. I’ve seen Bruce Willis there, which I was literally sitting 2 seats away from him. We also saw the lead singer from LFMAO. The servers are good looking, since most of them are aspiring actresses/​actors, or models.
Parking– street parking or you can park at the parking lot of Rite Aid. There are parking allotted for the restaurant.

This place is AMAZING !

Come here during the week and skip the line. Mommas French Toast is the way to go.

I found this little gem in a online article on best brunch spots to eat at before or after a hike in California. We were getting ready to hike my boyfriends beloved Runyon Canyon so this spot sounded perfect based on location and reviews .
Upon arrival we saw there were two lines forming on either side of the building (It was a Saturday morning so that was expected (plus being a foodie it adds to the anticipation of whats to come: P Wait wasn’t that bad though .15 minutes for a party of 2 .
Upon entering we were seated at a cute U shaped communal table where the servers walk the inside to serve and take orders from. I love communal tables! You get to see everyone elses food and chat it up with people next to you if you feel like being chatty .If you order coffee they bring you out a cute french press for you to keep in front of you and serve yourself. Every brunch place should do this. I never had to wait to for my server to come around and pour me more coffee .
As far as the menu everything pretty much sounded and looked delicious. I was getting excited seeing food come out. Pancakes and waffles as big as your head! Amazing toppings and presentation.
!We decided on a cheesecake french toast (Yummmm !!) we added bananas to it and shared a veggie scramble since we always share sweet and savory brunch items to get the best of both worlds .WOW !! Seriously WOW! The cheesecake topping was magical. The veggie Scramble was delicious. Service was friendly .
This will definitely be one of my first stops next time I’m in LA.

Red velvet pancake was awesome. Could only eat half of it though as it’s definitely a dish for someone with a sweet tooth. If you enjoy red velvet anything then this is for you. Also got the French Press coffee which was great as well.

Drove from SB to Hollywood and to beat traffic I left nice and early. It worked too well and was down there in 69 minutes with more than an hour to kill. It was Martin Luther King Monday and the streets were pretty empty at 7:40 in the morning. Unilocal told me about the Griddle Café!
Wow! I had no idea as I walked in the door of the empty café that it was one of the toughest tables in town. I sat at the counter and the guy working helped me find an outlet. I ordered my omelet and read some of the reviews. Most people mentioned an hour wait. Still hard to imagine as I scanned the spacious interior with six or seven customers. The guy who served me looked real familiar, I think he was someone who used to be on the TV show The OC. Poor schmuck, time hasn’t served him well.
I started with coffee, an individual French Press. It was so good! What a great idea too. I’ll bet the guy who does the dishes doesn’t think so though.
The omelet was delicious and I was proud that I was able to finish about 60% of it! It was stuffed with very delicious sausage. As I looked around I noticed that most people were eating pancakes. They are on extra large dinner plates and the pancake would hang over about ¾ of in inch on all sides. Wow.
When I left around 8:30 the place was full and a line was starting to form, I realized how truly popular the place really is. I am sure by 10:00 the line would be around the block.

Not the largest place but worth the wait. Very casual and noisy ambiance.
Took my sister and we shared the bananana pancakes and a side order of potatoes. We didn’t even finish half of the pancakes! It’s THAT huge! Perfect proportions of bananas in the pancakes.
Parking is located behind in lot with Rite Aid and you can enter through the back.
Didn’t get to order from it but they have a «Liquid Diet» menu ;)

That line and wait! The hype of this place makes the waiting fun. It was a overcast, slightly drizzling Monday and yet a late lunch for a party of 6 was still quite a wait. Thank goodness it wasn’t a weekend. It was our first time here, but my sister and her hubby often frequent the place. They warned us that the portions are HUGE, yet we did not learn. Each couple shared a dessert (pancakes or waffle) and a savory dish. The «Some Like It Hot» looks like a chorizo scrambled eggs nachos because of the chips, but it was good. Only tried a little bit since it wasn’t our order. I ordered the Strawberries and Crème waffle, which was very good, but very heavy. The cream is a «sour cream/​brown sugar» cream, which was good, but interesting. Strawberries were sweetened, but delicious for not being in season. The waffle tasted healthy, like dense or wheat-​like. Overall good, but filling.
Hubby ordered the Potatoes Egg Benedict (I forgot the fancy name), which was HUGE and very savory. The potatoes made it very filling and the ham was good. Overall, both items were too much for the two of us. Come hungry, but order minimally. Coffee comes in a French press.
Overall, a good breakfast place in Hollywood. 1hr metered street parking ($ 1/​hr), and please park close to the curb. Saw a car parked too far from the curb and got swiped. Also, monitor the meter so you can go and put more money in (coins or card). Not sure if we would drive out from the West side for this place (esp with the wait), but will eat here again if we were going with others.
P. S. Apparently this place is also a good spot to spot local celebs.

On a Saturday morning at 9:30am, our party of 2 only waited 15 minutes. Inside, it’s cramped and very, very loud.
The GF and I decided to split the blueberry pancakes and muscle-​bound scramble.
Pancakes were great and humongous. Scramble not so much, but what do you expect from egg whites and minimal calories/​fats.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! The brunch here is amazing. I ordered the «Gone Shrimping» which consists of an egg whites scramble with some basil pesto, tomatoes, capers, and lots of succulent shrimp! It was simple yet sooo delicious and fluffy.
I think this place is famous for their HUGE pancakes so we ordered the blueberry one to share. it was good as well. But I mean, you can’t go wrong with blueberry pancakes!

Weekends are ridiculous for lines. You can’t miss it, the restaurant spot is in the middle of a busy blvd, there will be two lines to the left and right. I was first confused as to why there were two lines. When I went inside to put down my name of a party of 3, the guy was really nice and told me that the wait was about an hour. Also, that one line is for parties of 1 – 2 and the other is 3 or more. Which made sense, i guess. It was weird because it looked as if there was actually a line, but people were just hanging around until their names were called.
After being called, walked inside and sat at a booth. The server was really nice! We got the «Mounds of pleasure» Pancakes. Which consisted of chocolate chips and coconut shavings. I’m usually not a fan of coconut or chocolate in my pancakes, but these were a good change up! HUGE pancake. I think between the 3 of us, we barely ate half. so we all consumed ¹⁄₃ of a half each? or even less. Haha. Then we shared two egg dishes. The «Muscle Bound» scramble, which had egg whites, chicken breasts, tones of vegetables. (basically a «bro» food) hahaha. Exactly my type of meal. My friend’s were complaining as to how bland it was, but I’m so used to it that it didn’t matter. Hey! If you’re into fitness, this would be perfect. Aside from the huge pancakes. The last dish was a hash, it had potatoes, bell peppers, bacon, etc, two sunny side up eggs. It was actually really good. But, by the time we ate the pancakes we were pretty full and the hash just nearly killed us.
Overall, the service was really good! The food was delicious. The wait… was expected on a weekend. I’d come back! But, maybe skip on the pancakes or come with more people. haha

Came here on a Saturday morning. We came around 930am and our party of 5 waited about 20 minutes outside. But the line got longer as we waited. But it was definitely worth the wait!
The servings are huge. 5 of us split 3 dishes: blueberry pancakes (⁴⁄₅), chocolate chip French toast (5/​5, DELICIOUS!), and the hoagie omelette (3.5÷5, wasn’t the best omelette ever but still good). The French toast was definitely my favorite. I would love to come back and try another flavor. But maybe during a weekday– maybe the wait will be shorter.
Service was good, no complaints. And the price was great considering the portion sizes.

BLUEberry — delicious!

Brunch and dessert are my favorite meals of the day so what better than to combine it all in one! Although the lines can get long and the wait may seem horrendous, I’d pick this place over any other brunch places on a whim.
My most recent visit to this place was on a Saturday morning after a hike a Runyon Canyon with the BF. We arrived around 10 a.m. and waited about 40 minutes before getting seated. As a regular here, I always tend to order:
Mama’s French Toast ($ 11.95): If it’s your first time here and don’t know what to order, I’d highly recommend this. This is what Griddles was first known for so what better than to try what made them famous.
Omelette «My Soul» ($ 12.95): We always order this with steak and a side of sourdough bread and potatoes. Love their omelettes and their monstrous portions! This is always a go-​to dish especially because I love eggs, avocados, cheese, and steak! So what better than mix it all up and devour it.
Other dishes I’d recommend:
Crème de La Crème ($ 13.95)
Black Magic ($ 11.95)
With just these two orders, my bf and I barely finished it. I’d recommend you share EVERYTHING you order because I guarantee you that you won’t finish it.
Service: Very attentive and good looking staff. Yes, I said it. The servers here are all male and very attractive.
Parking: You’ll find parking right around back at the Rite Aid plaza. Yes you can get validation as well.
Venue: Although quite big, this place is always packed. Luckily there are also a few seats outside. It is a very casual and cozy spot. Not a romantic spot, but great for foodies!

I came here from a recommendation and HOLY HELL was it ever good…
I am drooling just thinking about it… if the portions were not so HUGE I would have gone back everyday, but I didn’t for fear of diabetes in my short stay in LA.
I had the Chocolate coconut latte which I now dream of every night and wake up craving it… oh man, seriously delicious. and the peanut bubba french toast. The online menu needs to be updated, as I was so looking forward to the apple french toast but sadly it no longer exists.
The pancakes are MASSIVE as i watched them go by knowing I would barely make a dent in any… but i was really feeling the french toast that day and it came with a glowing recommendation… it did not dissapoint.
A beautiful snow-​covered MOUNTAIN of ooey gooey crunchy peanut-​buttery french toast arrived in front of me… the toast i do believe is coated in peanut butter cookies and topped with powdered sugar and whipped cream — Not that it needs it, but going off the tip from a friend I had a side of chocolate chips and cream cheese frosting to dip the pieces of toast into.
AHHHHHHHHHMAZING…
The lineup is the only downfall — quoted «20» minutes, which was really an hour and twenty minutes… but then again that is LA time…
If you don’t mind waiting with a big group I would recommend bringing a bunch of people ordering a few items and splitting the lot of them.
Also plan for a nap after you come down from the sugar high… you will not leave hungry, but you may leave buzzing on sugar.
Next time maybe I’ll try my hand at a pancake or two… As the Saturday Morning Fever and the Mounds of Pleasure sound like a party my stomach needs an invite to!

The Griddle Café is more than food. It is an experience. A girlfriend and I were celebrating the life of a friend who had recently passed away. She loved this place and so we had to go! The girlfriend I was visiting lives on Sunset and so we were able to walk the two blocks down. But there’s plenty of parking space. We went quite early about 7.30 am and we were lucky to be the second group waiting to get a place.
The pancakes were fluffy and tasty. I am not big on sweet breakfasts, but man, o, man, this was good stuff. Be prepared for a lot of leftovers or bring a bunch of friends and family and share so you can try different things. We ordered the Golden Ticket (banana walnut and whipped cream — my favorite combination), Red Velvet (a friend who likes Red Velvet preferred this one) and Kicking and Screaming Breakfast Tacos. The tacos were my favorite — that is mostly because I like spicy food, including for breakfast. The sauce they put on the tacos is magic. Decent coffee. Excellent service given how busy they are.
If you want a healthy breakfast, they have all kinds of egg dishes to order including omelets.
Is the food worth the wait in line etc. Of course not, which is why I said it is an experience. I am sure there is a terrific pancake place like this in every town in America. But this is on Sunset and there are all kinds of people who wait in line and so it can be an interesting addition to your LA experience if you are a visitor. Surprisingly, it is great value for money if you can eat the leftovers. If you are a tourist and don’t have access to a refrigerator/​microwave, remember you can order a single pancake instead of the stack of three.

I got a Nutella French toast. It was huge, loaded with Nutella, and delicious. I was expecting to pay a little more than what I did, given that this was LA, but I’d say it’s probably comparable to a nice café in other lest touristy cities and locations (this being in Hollywood). Also got a French press coffee. Pretty good.
My friend got some kind of «hoagie omelet» thing… that was ok tbh. It didn’t seem all that special or unique. After ordering our food, I was thinking I should have gotten the pancakes simply because I’d never seen any pancakes that GIANT before, woulda been a cool factor for sure.
Service was friendly. But seating is a mess since this place is soooo extremely popular. Unless you’re coming in after prime lunch time (like after 1pm), expect a HUGE crowd.

A bit melodramatic for a review, but that’s how it is when you arrive at this restaurant. Everything is a bit melodramatic when you find out that the usual 40 minute wait, is that there is no wait at all! Hurray! It’s like winning a lottery!
On my third visit I was so lucky to have come 5 minutes before a huge influx of people came and made the wait on a noon Saturday to it’s usual 40 minutes wait. What is there not to rejoice about?
I sat at the bar with 2 of my friends and we all literally ordered the same gosh darn thing. Not only that but the guy that sat at the bar next to me saw my plate and ordered the same gosh darn thing too, to which the waiter serving us remarked «that’s the same gosh darn thing they are eating too!»
What is this not-​so-​secret menu item we are eating you ask?
It’s the «Some like it HOT» Scramble. IT WAS AMAZZZZINGG!
But don’t take this as a reason to order it too. Almost everything served at this restaurant is good, and I say almost because I haven’t tried everything. There is way too much on the menu for me to explore in 15 visits. The portions are huge! I can at most only order 1 entrée for each visit, and if I had prayed hard enough the night before I would be able to finish the entrée the day I go.
Their pancakes are also really fluffy and delicious. Yum. Park in the back of Rite Aid, entrance on Fairfax. =]

Come hungry! Eat with friends cuz you’re gonna wanna order more than 1 thing and share.
Luckily we came on a sunny Tuesday morning. We were hungry! Ordered the sunset scramble and some Barry Yellow pancakes. We didn’t finish anything.
It gets crazy crowded and super long lines on the weekends. Save yourself the heartache, go have a great breakfast and go into work late instead.

Easiest way to wreck someone’s diet and solve global hunger in one meal. Even after looking at the pics and hearing about the pancakes, the pancakes are huge. It’s huge to the extent that you think you are in a pancake eating challenge. If you are borderline struggling with your sugar intake, this might tip the scale to early onset of diabetes II. You have been warned, but nevertheless I think you should order anyways or just try your friend’s pancake.
The pancakes are tasty. The sheer wow factor of the portion size influence my meal experience. I knew when the food arrived that it will be a struggle and that I won’t be able to finish this.
Since I only ate a quarter of it, I took the rest of it in a go box. Meals for days…

Do you like it big? And if so how big do you like it? I’m talking about pancakes of course! The Griddle Café gives a whole new meaning to big, and they aren’t messing around. Go big or go home!
We ordered the golden ticket which was Banana nana pancakes (brown– sugar baked bananas inside a buttermilk batter) filled with caramel, walnuts, and streusel. Topped with real whipped cream, caramel, and streusel. Do I need to say anymore? Four of us shared this pancake and there was still half left.
They had a lot of other choices of pancakes to choose from like the Black magic, Tis the season, Scotch on the rocks, Mounds of pleasure and a Time to love. I would like to try all of those, however I need a few buddies to do it with me! Any takers?
Apparently this place gets very busy during breakfast hours and on weekends however I came during the week at an off time so there was parking in the back which was fairly easy. I didn’t have to wait in line, but that’s because I have great friends that got there before me that did the hard work.
Prices are reasonable for the amount of food they provide. I suggest you come hungry! Rawr!

El lugar tiene mucha ondita, lugar repleto todo el tiempo, con mucha suerte nos dieron mesa en cuanto llegamos, pero es un lugar donde hay siempre linea de espera, pero vale muchisimo la pena la espera: D

J’ai adoré ce brunch c’était vraiment très bon, 35 $ pour deux avec deux jus d’orange, pancake, french toast. Les plats sont super copieux, les pancakes sont aussi grand qu’une pizza à 3 étages ! C’est dingue ! N’hésitez pas a vous y arrêter pour né regretterait pas !

Absolut unglaub. waren erst sonntags da und wollten dort frühstücken. Daraus wurde nichts, da der Herr an der Tür eine Liste von 50 reservierten Tischen hatte und noch locker 50 unangemeldete hungrige Esser vor der Tür standen. Also haben wir das Frühstück in dem Laden auf den nächsten Morgen verschoben, was eine gute Idee war, da wir lediglich 10 Minuten gewartet haben um einen Tisch zu bekommen. Die Portionen sind monströs und unschafbar bei den Pancakes
