Just had lunch here, and I really think this will be my last. The owner/manager that runs this place is miserable. He never greets you with a Hi or Welcome to Saladworks. The girl at the register is so nice, but she’s fighting an uphill battle because of the owner, who by the way is miserable. I’ve been coming here since they opened, and did I tell you the owner is miserable, because he is. If you’re in customer service, at least smile for crying out loud. Anyway, I ordered(2) salads and a Panini. The salads were cut by a third in terms of volume compared to the last time I was here. And yes, the manager was there at the register helping out, and god forbid he says welcome and how he appreciates your business. I’m done with this place. Small salads, slow service and it’s owned by somebody that doesn’t appreciate people coming in.

This was my first visit to this location and it will be my last. I have only been to one saladworks before, and that was in North Jersey. I had a pleasant experience there and thought«oh hey! there is one by my house, why not check it out.» I walked in on a Monday night with my boyfriend and the place was empty, with the exception of a few sitting customers. I was kind of confused as to how their whole system was set up in terms of ordering, but there wasn’t a line, so I bypassed the register area where a bored looking girl stood, and went straight for the display so I could actually see what salads I could order. Nobody said anything to me as I walked over. As I approached the display this blonde haired boy and some other dude in their late teens/early 20’s was behind the counter and they whispered something to each other and gave me a disgusted look. Ok, fine. whatever. I continue to browse to decide what I want and instead of greeting me and saying hello, the blonde haired douche behind the counter abruptly says«Do you know what you want? Because you have to order at the register.» I sarcastically responded«Oh, okay well I’m so glad that somebody told me where to order.» At this point my boyfriend said he could see the steam coming out from my ears, and I was already left with a bad taste in my mouth. I walk over to the counter, where the girl was much nicer but still seemed uninterested in her job. I tell her what I want and my one salad and a drink came out to a ridiculous $ 11. Unbelievable. Listen, I have worked in customer service and the food industry. I try not to write negative reviews about establishments unless they ABSOLUTELYDESERVE it. And this place was the worst. The staff looked so uninterested and were unbelievably rude. No «hello» «how are you today?» «What can I help you with?» The customer service in this place is non-existent. I learned from an early age from working in the food industry to treat others how you wish to be treated, and if it weren’t for my boyfriend I would have verbally tore that blonde hair kid a new one on my way out. Don’t even bother coming to this shit hole.

We stopped in for a quick bite while we were out and about in the area to try to get something healthy. Their options are plentiful and the menu looks appetizing, but unfortunately, for a salad, their portions are less than great. The salads are mostly lettuce(and a small amount of that to begin with) on an over-sized plate to make it look like more than is actually there. Their pricing for the area is pretty high. The ingredients were fresh though. Overall it was just ok, nothing special. It would do if we were back in the area and were desperate, but not somewhere I’d go out of my way for.

Overpriced. Salad was mostly lettuce and employees appear to be miserable. Hair nets would be a good addition as well. Overwhelming menu. Go to Panera Bread instead.

Ehhhhh. I used to swear by this place. Sadly, their salads have become more and more lettuce and less and less everything else. This location has you order at a register and then have no interaction with the salad makers and they scream a number you pick it up and go. I don’t like that you can’t look at the ingredients and determine if they’re fresh until after you order. The girl at the register appeared super young and was pretty annoying. I was reading the menu and she wouldn’t shut up about«we have this this this this» don’t tell me what you think MY mother would like… just tell me things if I ask you, how’s the dressing, what kind of chicken, are the tomatoes chopped… salad stuff. Also, 3.29 for a soup? That’s outrageous honestly. The workers were gossiping behind the counter. My salads were sloppy and dressing was all over the outside of the«side» cups. The male working threw bread in a bag and shoved the bag at me. No pleasantries at all. I’d rather go to shoprite salad bar and do it myself. Oh! And they have lunchtime delivery. 20 dollar minimum, and a delivery fee. NOTHANKS.

This place is going down the drain slowly. The staff seems like they don’t care. The wait is always long and people move so slow. My husband ordered a chicken panini which wasn’t even cooked through. The chicken was cold and disgusting. PLEASE someone else buy this place and turn it around. It’s one of the few healthy eating places around!

I just walked out of there and I will never be goin back I got the worst service no one even bother to offer to help me. The food was disgusting I got a panini that was ice cold in the center and the ham tasted bad and my boss got a turkey continental that he took a bite out of and throughout never again will we be going back there.

I like there wraps. Very good and healthy food. It is a bit on the pricy side. Needs a bigger crew to accomodate customer demands.

Opens at 12 on Sundays, but the whole staff is walking in at 12, nothing is ready, soup was cold. Obviously a poorly managed store, demotivated people working there(dude behind the counter had his ear buds in, wearing a white t-shirt prepping food, guy who looked like the manager was scrambling to set up — no communication with staff who seemed miserable). When you see that you start wondering about how well much they’re concerned with quality, food safety, that kinda stuff. Not going back to this one.

If you feel like waiting all day for a panini thats cold in the middle, then def come here. It’s like the people working there are in slow motion, the way they mope around.

I like this location — the produce they use in the salads seems nice and fresh, the roll that’s served with the salad is fresh, they offer real butter for the roll(not margarine) and they have fresh-brewed iced tea. Also, they have current magazines to read while you eat. The whole place is large and bright, and everything seems very clean. My last visit, the owner? manager? older gentleman that is usually at the register at lunch was not here, and instead, it was staffed by a supremely slow, clueless woman with some attitude. I hope this doesn’t signal a change for the worse. I’ve never tried anything besides the salads and maybe one soup, but they also offer soup and paninis, as well as «combo» plates with part of a salad and part of a sandwich. The price seems a bit high, but dealing with fresh produce and associated spoilage costs money.

Poor Service at the pick up counter — rude and lazy workers! Order taker pleasant and smiling, but makes mistakes and does not KNOWTHE menu. For example, ask her if the Caprese Panini is all vegetarian and she SAID — NO! As it was a special listed on the board at the entrance on Friday August 9th, I looked up the items in the menu and it WAS vegetarian. Went back to order and she just smiled when I told her tht it was vegetarian! Ok thus far! Then you go to pick up your order. A long wait though not too many people around. The guy hands me NO dressing. When asked for it, he looks over at the pay counter as though dressings are supposed to be charged for! and no apologies or a smile! Well, 2 of my friends asked for all the topping specials on their salads, and when they picked up, they saw nothing. They went to the pick up counter and asked and the lady was not interested in even addressing the issue or question! NOONE at the counter to keep her busy! On rechecking our bill, we did not see individual charges so let it go though we would have loved the add-ons on our salad! Poorly run! ISTHEOWNERABSENT? ISTHATIT? expensive place but we wished to eat healthy… wrong choice! not going there anymore… Chilis is conveniently close by and reasonably priced. ANDFINALLY, my Caprese was NOT made with Focaccia bread — how come? It was regular white(ugh!) bread!

Look at me eating healthy! This was my second lunch from Saladworks. I enjoy the convenience of ordering online and then going and picking up my order. It was ready and I was 10 earlier than the expected pickup time. This time I created my own salad. I selected a base of spinach and my five toppings were chickpeas, banana peppers, avocado, artichoke and cucumber. I passed on a roll. My dressing was a very thick Fat Free Balsamic Vinaigrette. I ended up using maybe 1⁄5 of it. My salad was very fresh and an ample portion. I agree with Patrick that the cost might be a bit high. My first lunch was the Greek salad and I liked it more than my own creation. They have fresh brewed iced tea too! I don’t think it specifically mentions that on their website menu. Saladworks also has some type of rewards program for frequent customers. The information about it on the corporate website is limited. I’ll be back!

One of my favorite budget meal destinations. The manager is always friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the corporate district manager is a bit of nazi and refuses to let individual stores customize their menus to suit customers needs and desires. An example is the popular turkey reuben which was an excellent sandwich seller in the holmdel market. Myself and several of my friends went out of the way to this location to pick up this sandwhich, only to be told it was discontinued by the corporate office. I asked if i could order off the menu with the ingredients readily available in other items? Unfortunately, I was told that the store had been threatened by corporate office with legal action if they deviated from the set menu??? This is a brilliant response to customer feedback in a stagnant economy. I can’t see Salwadworks making it beyond the few markets it controls now. If any of the fast food giants take an interest in salads they will soon be devoured but their competion.

I think the general feeling is that if it is green and leafy then it must be good for you. Saladworks seems to be very popular with the local middle school and high school girls. The High Schooler in my household seems to like it as well. I am always happy to see her eat something green and leafy. I tried Saladworks a couple years ago and I was disappointed by the quality and the cost. At the urging of my daughter I have tried it again. It is still a little costly but I think the quality has improved greatly. In addition to the obvious salads on the menu there is also sandwichs and soups. So far I have not been disappointed. Which is a good thing since everyone is so busy with work and school that cooking is not happening on a regular basis.
