Canterbury Farm & Nursery

This is a working wholesale or retail nursery in the heart of the farming area of the Redland. They have a great selection at really good prices. Basically, at other nurseries, you are paying for the luxury of not having to drive very far. However, we needed to make a mass purchase and knew exactly what we wanted, so driving out there was perfect for us for the discount we could get. Besides, I’m always ready for any excuse to drive out to the Redland. I love it out there in the peaceful country.
The customer service was excellent. They quickly assisted us in finding what we needed and had a supplier bring out more of what we needed when we found out that even though we had called ahead, they didn’t have enough of what we needed. They helped us somehow fit all of the items into our tiny car. The workers seemed knowledgeable. We couldn’t have asked for better assistance.
However, I would say if you don’t know what you want, it might not be a good place for you. This is a working farm. They don’t have pretty name tags on everything. They don’t have easily organization for a layman. It is HUGE. They probably don’t have time to spend a ton of time on you. However, their selection is really good for your basic South Florida plants, so if you know exactly what you are looking for, you can get what you need quickly and cheaply… if you drive out there of course.
I would highly suggest calling before driving out there as we were the only visitor on the property. Not getting a lot of traffic, they might close early for rain, etc. Besides, it is better to have an idea if they have your item before driving all the way out there.
Oh, another bonus is they did take credit cards (not just cash).
