Really good the people are very nice I order rib tips and they were good I didn’t even need sauce and the sauces they had was good the hot sauce they offered could be hotter

I have never been greeted so warmly and genuinely. Wonderful lady at the counter, wonderful smells inside and crazy good bbq in my belly. I will definitely be back soon for more hot links, rib tips and brisket.

Ribs! Overall I was impressed. I got the mini tip lunch special. Nice sized portion, ribs were smoked well, and fresh. They go a little heavy on the sauce, but I sure you can request easy sauce or sauce on the side, etc. very professional, and lots of options. The pit is official, and they were tending to the meat. I’ll be back, next time I’ll try chicken and a link as well. Uncle Johns!

i was a regular at Uncle John on 69^th St. here the price is too high for the amount you get and the sauce is not Uncle john’s the owner told me he was his nephew well you need to go get the recipe for his sauce. I got the mixed it tasted like hot sauce. The hot Links do taste the same but the cuts of the tips were a lot of bones nothing like what you got from the original uncle John’s. need to get better cuts of meat and bigger sizes for the price i paid 17.00 and some change for a combo which had about 15 tips in it never again!

This is an update to a prior posting that I did. Since my last posting I’ve tried the grilled turkey leg & turkey tips which I thought were both good. I ordered the small turkey tip one time and the large turkey tip another time. I noticed that from all my experience there so far that the barbecue sauce is never consistent. I always order the mix and it’s very hot sometimes to kind of plain the next. Since opening up last month the prices went up a buck or so on a few items. Why raise your prices when you give so little, are not consistent with your barbecue sauce, and just opened up?! Why is your large turkey tip just a tad bigger then your small turkey tip and like $ 3.00 — $ 4.00 bucks more? The menu is missing a lot of the items that are sold at the Richton Park location. Homewood location doesn’t take phone orders. Wait time varies, depending on how busy they are and they will tell you it will take 15 minutes but you end up waiting 45 minutes. There was only one time that they were actually finished at the time they said it would take. With all these negatives I’m going to have to change my star rating from 4 star to 1. I am sure I won’t be back again even if they add more items to the menu and perfect their barbecue sauce. They just don’t give you much for the amount you spend there! I’m just going to have to take that extra 15 minute drive to the better barbecue place that actually taste great all the time and doesn’t charge you and arm and a leg for their products. Sorry but I did really want to like this place.

This was very good BBQ, cooked right and the sauce is rich and hearty. Tender and smoky, fall off the bone meat.

I have visited this place in Chicago. It was marvelous! Sad to see the original owner step down, however. Good to know another place to go when in need of some Q.!!
