High Octane Saloon

A great place for bikers to hang out, get something cool to drink and listen to a great band. And it’s a beautiful ride though the nature coast!

Pretty cool biker bar in Homosassa that I’ve been anxious to go to. Located right on busy Hwy 19, we decided to pull in for a cold beer.
We were in town for the Leesburg Bike Fest and getting our share of riding in and decided to take a break from the rally. We love Central Florida for the back country winding roads and there’s plenty of good bars along the way, High Octane now being one of them.
We parked the bikes and wandered inside. Huge bar right inside the door and across from the stage where a band was setting up for the afternoon. We grabbed a couple beers and wandered around to find an inside store with biker jewelry and shirts, of course we had to look and ended up buying stuff.
Stroll a little further and you’ll be discover the humongous inside bar room for a couple hundred bikers. Back out to the inside open air bar to listen to the band and take a break from the road. in the back of the parking lot there’s even a bikini bike wash to get your scooter cleaned up and looking good to hit the open road.
Bar tenders were super nice, there was plenty of scantily dressed biker babes walking around and the beer was plenty cold while we listened to the band and caught up with our group of 20+ friends from Jacksonville and Ft Lauderdale that were all in town for the bike fest.

We rolled into town looking for trouble!(Nah) Ready to kick some butt!(Nah) Just itching for someone, anyone to look at us and say something!(What’ll ya have?) Yeah!
I wore my new black boots. Lookin’ good! In my right hand? I carried a 38 special. That’d be the hand of my lady. My main squeeze. My babe! She’s looking all HOT and sexy. Just one look… at her… dang!
Human High Octane! But that’s another story.
Fellas, you can look, but damn sure don’t touch! My ride or my babe.
We’d heard tell of a group of traveling musicians, call themselves ‘Undercover Betty’. We tracked them down to this watering hole. Sure enough, as we sidled up to the high top table, there they were! Four fine looking honeys strutting their musical stuff on stage! Blonde Rebby slinging hot notes off her guitar like fiery comets erupting from a blast furnace! Connie thump plucking banging bass notes, Carol tickling the tuneful ivories, and Kana keeping the beat with a flurry of feet and hand syncopation. The chicks can rock!
Our guide through the maze of food, frolic and adult beverage was the lovely and talented Ashley! A lot of wisdom and joy of life packed into this young lady with the baseball cap, short shorts and quick wit! Every time we needed anything, Ashley would appear, ready and eager to help us. She even showed me how to make a Homosassa-​Koozie for my draft beer.(See photo). We liked her alot.
What I felt as we strolled around looking at the 5 full liquor bars, the gift shop/​store and the rest of the saloon spread? Quality! Someone really did their homework when they planned this place. Right down to the tire/​wheel table bases, the diamond plate metal everywhere, the Harley décor including H-​D engine beer taps (photo) and full sized choppers lurking on narrow ledges. Enter the domain of men’s relief and there are beer keg urinals!(Yeah, see photo). The keg giveth… and…taketh away!
Oh! The food was outstanding! We each had the rib specials, including a half slab of delectable ribs, tater tots and cole slaw, all for just $ 8.95! What? Dang!
We also had the Jalapeño Crab Poppers. We ate ‘em all…
Let me tell you honestly. Come closer. Listen. High Octane Saloon is a whole lot of horsepower, hogs, hormones (be nice), hospitality, happiness and high energy hot licks!
If you can’t fill up, fire up and go flat out at High Octane… check your pulse.

I’m only give this place two stars cause the bartender in the front bar was amazing. If it wasn’t for her I would have rated this place a 1. The service in the back bar was absolutely horrible. There were 3 girls running around but not one stopped at our table. They looked at is and walked right by. I finally flagged someone over to get drinks for us and the table behind us because they had been sitting there for 25 minutes without being acknowledge. I would have understood if it was busy but it wasn’t. First time and last time I will go there.

First time there this past Saturday. We utilized their trolly bus to pick us up and bring us back to the campground we were staying at. It was great to drink, eat and listen to the Bearded Brothers and not have to worry about getting in a car.
The place is huge, with several buildings and different shops on the grounds. We got a heads up from our bus driver on what we should eat if we were hungry. So we got a Philly Cheese Wrap. I think it was at least 12 inches long. :) The Philly meat was tender and tasty. The fries were large cut spiral potatoes. I thought everything was really good. I only wish this place was a little closer to where I lived.

A few Sunday’s ago, I rode up to High Octane on my Triumph. It was a real nice ride to get to the saloon. It was my first time there and may not go back. It had nothing to do with the band (The Bearded Brothers from Tampa were getting ready to play), but everything to do with the food. Ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The cheeseburger was pretty big, a shame it was pretty bland. The fries were gigantic spirals that weren’t cooked/​fried all the way through. But, I imagine if they were done all the way through, they would be delicious!
The place was pretty large. The stage area is in one area (warehouse) and therefore, is an area where you can smoke.. they opened up the «garage door» for ventilation and had fans going, so there was no issue with inhaling smoke. There is another large room with a bar for non-​smokers. But we did not go in there, for no other reason than when we entered and sat, we didn’t know there was a separate area.
All in all, I suppose that the place is great if you are a local.

Used to be good, but now caters basically to bikers. Can’t eat up front anymore in the smoke free enviornment before 6:00 p.m. All signs say bikes only. The menu for Tuesdays has beef and chicken tacos, they never have chicken tacos. Since you can’t sit up front before 6:00, we went out back outside. Can’t order softdrinks there on Tuesdays. Self serve at food counter, since there were no servers in sight, except for the one socializing at the bar.

We had a great time. Not just a biker bar (there were maybe 2 bikes in the parking lot). We went for the regular dualing pianos show (once a month). We had appetizers which were all good (except the sauce for the mozzarella sticks was cold). You need a knife and fork to eat the fries with chili and cheese (more like big huge potato wedges than fries).
