One of the best boba drinks I ever had! This spot is in the Japanese food court in the mall downtown Honolulu! There are tons of food to choose from but if you crave some boba, this is the spot! I ordered a half strawberry and half mango float which means frozen yogurt topped off! Amazing drink and the flavor bursts strawberry and mango! Fresh fruits equals a better drink! The boba and frozen yogurt add fun to the drink… The yogurt adds creaminess and the boba adds texture to the drink! Must try place!

It’s my first time here and I was very disappointed in the customer service. I asked the cashier if they’re able to make a mocha milk tea. She paused for a moment to think and said, «yes, we can.» As I was waiting, the girl who was making the drinks said loudly and with an attitude, «mocha? Why don’t they just order chocolate?» So I said, «Fine, chocolate, whatever.» It’s obvious she didn’t know the difference between chocolate and mocha so I had to tell her.(Despite the fact that there’s a picture of what mocha is on their smoothie menu.) I should’ve just walked to Taste Tea’s. Costs about the same and you get it exactly how you want it.

Some days you just crave frozen yogurt and for that, I go to 5&2. The location is favorable, given that it’s in Ala Moana… which is also reflected in their high prices. I almost always walk away with $ 5+ worth of yogurt and that’s without toppings. Occasionally it’s hard to find seating, but aside from that I think this place is awesome!

Does 5+2 stand for the number of days the froyo is kept in the machines?. Because my green tea froyo tasted fermented(a little sour and carbonated). Yuck! My son said his lychee froyo«had a kick.» not a good sign in any dairy product. The chocolate and honeydew were okay, but I won’t be eating here again anytime soon. Very sad that the crêpe lady is gone.

I expected more from this place. If you want frozen yogurt and happen to already be inside the mall you might as well. I paid 17 bucks for two cups which I thought was not even ¼ full… Go across the street to tutti fruitti instead and pay 7 bucks for the same amount of product. It’s near wal mart. Sure they have li hing mui, but I liked the plain tart better with the powder added on myself. The girl behind the counter didn’t trust us with sample cups, she had to come to the machine and fill up the tiny sample cup herself… I’m 29 years old I know how to fill up a sample cup. I will not return.

I got the li hing mui flavor and I liked it a lot. After a while, it gets too sweet though, but that’s how I tend to think of most flavors anyway. They have your usual topping selections like lychee and other flavored poppers, nuts, etc. Pricing is average. The reason why this gets 2 stars is because of the service. I’m not sure she’s the owner, but there’s an older asian lady who works there. There’s a younger girl up front at the register, but the older lady walks around. While looking at the flavors with my wife, the older lady approaches us and asks if we want samples. We say yes and point to the flavors, and she takes 2 tiny paper cups from her pocket and puts a tiny amount of yogurt inside and hands it to us. From there, she walks away without saying anything else or offering more samples. We end up buying our flavors and sit down. What really dropped the star level down was how this old asian lady treated someone sitting down. A very very old cute japanese lady(looked in her 90’s) was eating with her family and needed a bowl or something. So she walks to the yogurt machine where the large yogurt cups are and takes one. The«owner» runs up to her and starts scolding her about not taking it and stuff. I understand it costs money, but there’s no need to publicly embarrass a cute old lady in the middle of the food court area. Overall: your usual yogurt and pricing. Mean owner”. Nice cashier.

My kids begged for frozen yogurt and being the guilt ridden workaholic parent that I am, I of course gave in. It’s Fall break and an excellent time to spend some much needed quality time together! There’s 8 flavors to choose from at the self-serve station and they both got vanilla yogurt. My son opted to top his off with m&ms and chocolate chips. My daughter showered her treat with rainbow sprinkles. Man, they really get you at the register because its $.67 per ounce. Holy smokes, $ 5+ each for yogurt?! I need to open me a froyo stand! Pricey yogurt but it made my children really happy and that to me is priceless. Plus the rent at the mall must be insane. The girl working the counter was really sweet and let them choose which color spoon they wanted. I asked my daughter what star rating we should give them and she said. «4-stars because they don’t have my favorite flavor… Mango!» Holler, she’s got a legitimate point here people. This is our next generation of Unilocal Elite 2027!

Dear 5&2 Frozen Yogurt, Plain tart! Perfect. The best. Ten thousand times better than Menchies. Even my «I don’t eat dessert cause BEER is my dessert cause I’m a masculine manly man» husband agreed that you are delicious. You look so understated, but are really quite wonderful. Lots of poppers, jellys, and more than enough topping choices for my four kids. Everything always seems fresh, which is awesome. We love you! Smiles, Angela

Thank you fellow Yeeps for the previous reviews. My other half and I were looking for a new«froyo» joint and your awesome reviews led us here! So 5&2 is located on the second floor of Shirokiya in the Ala Moana Center. They are just one of the many wonderful vendors in Shirokiya’s food court area. Their area is much smaller than your average froyo shop as their space is limited in the food court but you know what they say, «Good things come in small packages.» Totally on point with regards to 5&2! The employee that was working(an older Asian woman) was very friendly and offered samples as we stood there and tried to decide what flavors we wanted. They not only have frozen yogurt and a topping bar but they also serve smoothies, mochi ice cream, slush… aaaand waffles! Not waffle cones but a bag of waffles for $ 2.99. Oh, and before I forget, they also sell bags of mochi balls. The way they package them is really cute too. Their frozen yogurt was just what we were looking for on a warm night. Heck, on a cold night too! I would probably go there even in 60 degree weather. Seriously, this my new favorite froyo spot. Something about their yogurt tastes healthier and more delicious than your average Yogurtland, Menchies, Tutti Fruitti and Orange Grove. I think(and this is just my assumption and opinion) that they use more sugar or sweetener and 5&2’s yogurt just tastes more natural and refreshing without a lot of sugar. I could be wrong but either way, their yogurt is delicious. Yummy yogurt at 64 cents an ounce, good service, in one of my favorite Ala Moana stores??? Yes, yes, and YES!

On the second floor of Skirokiya is this small self-serve froyo counter that has many flavors both expected and unexpected. For those who like a plain or vanilla yogurt, to those who like a pineapple or li hing mui yogurt, this should definitely be your go-to spot! Price is not too bad, and the cashier is very personable and friendly! I will definitely be back to this yummy froyo!

I am a fan of froyo! This is by far the best on the island! Beats Mechies, Yogurtland and Orange Grove! My favorite froyo place in Cali would be Pinkberry though we don’t have that here. This place is located inside Shirokiya. My fave flavors would be Li Hing mui and the Coffee! The taste of the froyo here is very distinct and it’s so addicting! I keep coming back for more! The offer a stamp card as well and you get a stamp for every $ 5 spent.

MIL ordered the Li hing, pineapple, and melon. I thought the Li hing was the best, but all were good. They charge extra by the oz, which adds up quickly. Don’t remember how much extra, but thought it was more than pinkberry. Good dessert choice with friendly service.

We found this place in Shirokiya on the same floor as Yataimura! The staff is friendly and I guess it’s because their never busy… But because we’re on a «eating better» task, we thought we’d give this yogurt place a try. It was surprisingly pretty good. I had the mix of melon & strawberry. OH! very good. Kind of tasted or reminded be of cheesecake. There are a variety of toppings you can add and I always love«condensed milk». Reminds me of my childhood days of rubber pancakes and condensed milk poured all over it… Keep in mind though that you are paying by the weight and the more yogurt or toppings you add the more it’s gonna cost. Finally we were ready to pay and it was pretty stiff. What do you expect from a small spot in Shirokia right! But its worth a try, just serve yourself a little before you splurge. If you like it and you think you keep coming back then ask for a frequent punch card.

What more can I say about this place other than the fact that I am completely in love with their froyo and came three times in one week! Yes I said three, and I’m not ashamed of it! The first time I was thinking to myself you know what, I’m going to play it safe and get vanilla with fruit. 5 stars The next day(yes next day!) I thought I’m going to venture out and get plain(this is a venture for me because plain tastes less like ice cream and more like yogurt). Plain with chocolate maddess, I made this up and just added Oreo crumbs, chocolate chips and cookie dough(what?! I know!) 5 stars Third time that week they were giving out free samples, I snagged the strawberry and guess what I got that day? Exactly! 5 stars again! I’m getting pineapple on my fourth journey and I can’t wait! My punch card is adding up! :)

Man, I love the korean shaved ice at this place! It really is amazingly tasty and I never get tired of it. There is a ton of fresh fruit, fruit jelly, red bean, condensed milk over the shaved ice, and mochi balls. If you’re at Ala Moana mall, stop into Shirokiya and look for 5&2 Frozen Yogurt. You’ll know you’re close when you hear that annoying Takoyaki place banging their drum and that damn video saying«Takoyaki» over and over and over.

My brother was craving frozen yogurt and this place was the first one to show up while we were in Ala Moana. I told my husband the reviews said there was li-hing and he was BEYOND excited to go! We booked it there! Thank the gods for the tip that this was located INSIDE shirokoya! If it wasn’t for that, we would have been lost forever! After navigating the crowded area that is shirokoya, we saw the little stand that is 5&2. We asked for sample cups and i’m not sure if its part of their gig but the lady wouldn’t let us do it on our own, she walked over and portioned the cups out for us. I thought it was delightful but my husband and brother who are very used to super self serve froyo were highly annoyed. After trying the li-hing yogurt my husband was hooked and didn’t even want to try anything else, he just rushed to get a cup! The taste is not an over powering sense of li-hing but it isn’t a touch, its just the right amount and it tastes delicious! My brother tried the melon and was SO pleased. It felt like a cross between yogurt and soft serve. He says it was so good that he didn’t even want to ruin the flavor with toppings! Speaking of toppings though, there weren’t many, and I would venture to say there were less than 10 yogurt flavors there. So this is nothing like yogurt mama or yogurt land. The flavors stand on their own and its a wonderful thing. I bet even though he has less than 48 hours left on the island with us and even though we live on the windward side that he is going to beg to go back here! Husband AND brother approved? I think we will be back very soon 5&2!

I was finally able to try this yogurt place out. I noticed that they not only have a different server now, but there’s also two of them. I went up to one of them and asked how to order. So, basically, it’s all up to you to choose what cup size, flavors and toppings you want and they’d just weight it. You can even mix in all the flavors all together if that’s what you like. If you don’t know which flavor to choose, you can ask for a tester. I got strawberry and honeydew. Honeydew is sweet while the strawberry is sour. I liked the strawberry a lot because I like my froyo sour. For the toppings, I really like the fruit pops, it’s a burst of flavor inside your mouth. I also like the jelly. It’s not the best frozen yogurt I tried but I’d still come back to this place if I want a cold treat.

It’s safe to say that the Li Hing Mui flavored Frozen Yogurt from 5&2 Frozen Yogurt has become my new addiction. I go through withdrawals if I go past 2 days of no Li Hing Mui yogurt. It’s that bad. First off, I’m not a big Li Hing Mui flavored fan. In my small kid times, I once tried shaved ice with Li Hing Mui flavored syrup and thought it was disgusting. It reminded me of Robitussin. For over 20 years, I swore I would never eat another Li Hing Mui flavored anything unless it was crack seed stuff or the real powdered stuff sprinkled on popcorn. Low and behold, I stumbled upon 5&2 Frozen Yogurt with some friends one day. The lady working the counter, the owner I presumed, recommended that I try the Li Hing Mui flavored yogurt. She told me how people come from as far as Kapolei just to eat it since this was the only place that served this flavor. I got suckered into getting it. I have this routine of always including either Vanilla or Cheesecake flavored yogurt with every cup I get. And boy, was the Li Hing Mui and Vanilla a killer combo. Topped that bad boy with condensed milk and I was on cloud nine. It’s official, this place and this Li Hing Mui flavor is the top of my frozen yogurt list, even though I refuse to get Li Hing Mui flavored anything else unless it’s the real deal. Go figure.
