This store looked interesting, so I decided to go inside to have a look around. Half way through my visit I realized that I was being followed by one of the workers. At first I thought it was just a coincidence that she was literally 5 feet away from me every time I looked up, but it was quite clear that she was following me. The only reason I could come up with as to why she was following me was because of my skin color. I am a well dressed, average looking guy and I was just minding my business and looking around. I work retail and I am fully aware that shoplifters are not easily recognizable and that employees are trained to keep a close eye on all customers that enter their store, but I really could not understand why she would target me and follow just me around the store. With a store full of caucasian customers, why was she only following the one brown customer? What decade is this? I did not expect to be subject to such blatant racism in a city like Honolulu that is so ethnically and culturally diverse. Not shopping in this store ever again.

I don’t claim to be a golfer. I try to, but I can’t even last a round. Or even 9 holes. So most times, I end up just sitting cute in the golf cart. Or I attempt to look cute. Golf is one of the few sports where wearing bright colors or prints are totally acceptable. I attribute this to the fact that you have to be a little nuts to be chasing around a little ball into a little hole. Anyway, that’s what I feel like when I come here. I feel like I’m being chased around the store. Mind you I know they are being vigilant on shoplifters, but they followed me almost everywhere. And most often, they speak to me in Japanese. My Japanese is really bad, so of course I answer back in English. Sales lady, I can’t speak Japanese, did you not get it? So after getting chased around while I shopped, I thanked them and asked what their hold policy is. Whatever they have on the floor is all they have. They don’t have back stock and they don’t order more. Their hold policy is one week. That’s pretty good. Other stores, or regular stores, I should say, only hold for one day. So you can shop and put items on hold and go shop elsewhere if needed. Despite following me around, there wasn’t any do or die pressure to buy. I appreciate that. The products they have is pretty pricey, but when you’re in Ala Moana, rents tend to run high so you are paying for the location. They had the items I was looking for, which for some reason are hard to find. I was looking for cute golf clothes. I’m not sure if I would buy a golf club here, but I have bought other accessories like gloves and hats. And cute clothes. I like the clothes here because of the fact they don’t carry much and I feel like I can be unique. The prints are disgusting and are tolerable. And also cute. Because if you can’t play golf well, you might as well look good trying to.

Basically everything is 20% dearer than most golf shops, most clothes are sized to fit very small people and generally are on the outlandish style of golf style, it’s only redeeming feature is the interesting knick knacks that you really don’t see anywhere else

A cool little golf shop that has some cute Hawaiian golf polos and club covers. I really like the shop and the products. Really liked it. However, an annoying sales women wouldn’t leave me alone pushing every product I touched or looked at. Stuck on me like a leech and would have sucked my blood if I let her. She chased me out of the store and didn’t even realize it. This tactic works for the Japanese clients, but is wrong for the American ones. I guess I’m half Japanese, so I got the Japanese treatment. I have walked by this store numerous times on my trip to Ala Moana. I’m not gonna lie, its flashy appearance always caught my eye so I decided to stop in one day. Let’s start with the items. They are decent at best. Yes, they do have some name-brand items but overall, their stock is mediocre… and not to mention over-priced. Their customer service is below par. They barely glanced my direction and only one out of the four employees even acknowledged my presence. No, it wasn’t busy. I believe I was one of three customers. Bottom line, you’re better off shopping for good golf equipment/apparel elsewhere. I think even pro shops have a better selection and prices… and probably better customer service.

It was just your typical golf shop in the Ala Moana shopping mall. Everything is overpriced. The only reason people would go their is for the convenience and the fact its in a good location. Roger Dunn is so much better.

Rating: 4⁄5 Date(s) visited: many times. Products: 5⁄5 Service: 4⁄5 Atmosphere: 3⁄5 Price: 2⁄5 Parking: 3⁄5 I’ve never bought from here, because it’s pretty expensive. But they do carry some items that other golf shops don’t. It’s a kinda«I wish I had» store. Products: They carry hard to find items. Service: I’ve never been hassled to purchase anything. So that’s good. Atmosphere: It’s a fairly medium to large shop with a lot of inventory, but it feels very crampped int there. No access for a wheelchair. Price: Can you say, «Holy Sh**!» Ya it’s pretty pricey. Parking: Mall parking. Hit or miss depending on the time of day you decide to shop.

One of the nicer golf stores on the island, especially when it comes to golf apparel. They have plenty of different fashions to look good while chunking your swing or massively hooking the ball. It’s expensive though. I think over the years, I’ve probably only bought one thing from here and it was a very small purchase. They don’t really talk too much and seems like they cater to a certain group of people. As with any golf store, it’s always cool to look at all the different doodads. It’s located on the basement level toward the middle(near the bathrooms) on the mountain side of the mall.
