Aloha On The Rocks is Hawaii’s first and BEST professional bartending service! Beer, wine, martinis, champagne toasts, non-alcoholic drinks — no problem. We specialize in offering premier bartending and cocktail service at wedding receptions, grand openings, corporate events, private parties and any special occasion.

History

Established in 2006.

Aloha On The Rocks is Hawaii’s first and BEST professional bartending service. The idea to start Aloha On The Rocks came from a friend who owns a similar business in Colorado. Some research quickly revealed that there was no such business in Hawaii. Not yet. At the time, I was a freelance architectural draftsman looking for something a little less ofiice-y. A mobile bartending business seemed like a fun job, and the timing was perfect.

Since those early days, my business has grown and expanded (architectural what?). I have provided professional bartending services at a wide variety of exciting events, including the grand opening to the Nordstrom store at Ala Moana, several fundraiser events for the Honolulu Art Academy and Bishop Museum, an NFL Pro Bowl party with professional athletes in attendance, corporate events on the USS Missouri, as well as countless wedding receptions, private parties, corporate events, birthday parties and holiday parties.

As the owner of Aloha On The Rocks, I enjoy the many aspects of operating this exciting business. I now have a staff of professional bartenders, as well as other vendors in the event industry, whom I consider friends. When I’m not behind the bar (or my computer sending quotes), find me surfing the north shore, socializing with friends, or designing and building custom furniture in my wood shop.

One of the many things I’ve learned by being a business owner — it’s not enough to do a great job, you have to do a great job every single time! Consistency in service is crucial. And if you love your job as I do, consistency in providing a great service comes easily…

I hired Aloha on the Rocks one week before my event and they catered to me so well! They were very quick with their responses and made sure everything was taken care of. The specialty drinks added a good spin on everything. They provide all the garnishes, juices, mixers, etc. You just have to purchase all the alcohol. The tent set up looked very nice as well.

On August 3^rd, 2013 at the Polo Fields my staff and I did a «DAY OF COORDINATION,» event at the Polo Fields. This is where our Zenju team worked with Aloha on the Rocks. Shaun and his staff showed up on time, set up their bar station with in 30 minutes. He brought three bartenders with him who were well dressed and looked extremely professional.
Shaun and his staff took direction well and were extremely easy to work with. Unfortunately, this function was high stress but Shaun and his staff did not show any sign of pressure. Some one from the event left a negative comment on Unilocal regarding the work ethic of his staff, which completely shocks me. As a coordinator I appreciate any help the vendors can assist me with. This event was disorganized, there were more guests than what was stated, the electricity was not the best, guests showed up two hours early while the staff was setting up, the clients did not hire any servers, so Shaun and his staff took it upon themselves to slice and serve the cake to all the guests. This is not a part of their job description, but when I asked them to help serve the cake, Shaun more than obliged. He went over and beyond what his company was hired to do.
I am going to add Aloha on the Rocks to our preferred vendors list. This is the kind of company I like working with. They know how to adapt to inconceivable situations. They think on their feet and remain professional while doing so. I look forward to working with Shaun and his team on another event in the near future.

I would have given Aloha on the Rocks 5 stars except how can they run out of mixers, juices and etc for cocktails at an event? The service by the bartenders were great. Communication leading up to the event was superb. They set-up and broke down flawlessly BUT to run out of more than one product that was part of a package which we paid for is NOT acceptable.
Within the first half an hour they ran out ingredients for cocktail number 1, shortly after they ran out of ingredients for cocktail number 2 and as you imagined as the night progressed they ran out of more things before the event was even over. It was so bad that the groom ended up taking shots because they didnt have all the ingredients to make him a cocktail. Mind you these ingredients are not what we provided that ran out but its what you paid for to be provided at the event as part of their all inclusive bar package deal.
I wished they had estimated a bit better and accounted for garnishes, juices and mixers more accordingly. Finally, they did not display all the spirits that we had provided them. Perhaps we had quite a variety of spirits but what is an open bar if it aint a full bar? If you decide to book them, I would book cautiously or get it in writing that they have to guarantee to not run out of product (garnishes, mixers, juices, soda, ice and etc.) for the time frame you book them for. Their prices are in the middle so not super expensive like others but certainly not the cheapest either.

If you’re planning any kind of event where alcohol will be involved, definitely go with Aloha on the Rocks! We were planning a destination wedding from California and had NO idea on how much alcohol or what kind of alcohol we should buy. Then in came aloha on the rocks. They handled everything.
I found four specialty drink recipes I liked, gave them to Shaun and he made it happen! They provided all the garnishes, juices and mixers, and all I had to do was buy the actual alcohol. It made things SOOOOOO unbelievably easy. We had a really rowdy group and the bartenders were so nice the entire time!
At the end of the night, our group was a little too drunk to handle taking care of the alcohol so Shaun and his team were nice enough to store it for us! Then the next day, Shaun went out of his way to deliver the remaining alcohol to us in Waikiki (from Kailua) so that we could return the unused alcohol to Costco. This group is really awesome!

Okay… so I went to my relatives wedding on August 3^rd, and my auntie heard that this company was a great bartending service. She said that she went to another event and the bartenders were outgoing and helped set a mood… so my expectations were pretty high. Their set up was good and on time, and they had alot of staff (3 bartenders, & 3 cocktail servers and an Shave Ice machinist)…They were serving drinks at the beginning but I saw the cocktail servers sitting down for more than 10 minutes while guests were walking up to the bar to get their drinks. I also noticed that since there were 250 guests, the table maintenance was poor. I was definitley not impressed… I even took a picture of the servers sitting down which totally pissed me off since my auntie is paying for their so called services. Their service was more like the Titanic sinking the Rocks… not Aloha! If you’re going to have «Aloha» in your company name… make sure you bring it! I will not suggest these guys AT ALL!

Utilized Aloha on the Rocks for bartending services at our estate wedding on June 15, 2013. Was able to work within our budget for our budget friendly wedding that satisfied us both. Communication was a plus, never missed a heartbeat and kept up with eachother through emails and calls. Most convenient in pricing and accessiblity of all the bartending services we checked out. Set-up and service went without a hitch.
Guests loved the refreshment bar especially because we, the wedding couple, were able to suggest off the menu refreshments and Shaun delivered with some delicious specialty drinks. Guests also commented on how quick the bartending service was, especially because our guests were overworking them due to their drinking habits. haha for reals with shots, wines, bottles, and mixed drinks.
Will recommend Aloha on the rocks for anyone asking for great priced and reliable bartending services. My wife and I would like to say thanks Shaun for what you did. Our wedding was very memorable with your help.

We hired Aloha on the Rocks for my wedding. They came on time and the bartender was AMAZING. Since we had bought more alcohol than suggested, he was able to make other drinks than what we had on our signature list and they were so good (and I hate alcohol). He was very funny and lively. Large weddings are never easy; they are especially difficult from a distance of 2500 miles across the ocean.
We were extremely fortunate to have Shaun from Aloha on the Rocks to help us with the smooth set up and execution of the bar at our son’s wedding.
The first list of alcohol we received from the wedding planner seemed to be a bit excessive and when we forwarded it on to Shaun he was very quick to respond that this seemed to be more than a ‘bit’ excessive and that he would be happy to provide his input.
This seemed to be a great alternative but there was a slight problem. The bride to be, the wedding planner and Shaun were all on the island of Oahu while we were located on the mainland, a three hour time difference. Shaun graciously responded to the many changes in both the amount of alcohol, the types of drinks to be served and the number of staff and how they would be utilized. Not only gracious but with a measure of polite professionalism and a genuine desire to make the event as smooth and enjoyable as possible. This was accomplished!
We have nothing but high praise for Shaun and Aloha on the Rocks.
Although he had another function to attend, Shaun was able to schedule his time such that he was there for the set-up, and then was able to return halfway through the wedding and then again when the event was ending. His staff was wonderful, pleasant, accommodating and great mixologists! They came, set up, served and cleaned up and their great attitude contributed to making it a successful event. We loved the Ice teas and infused water set ups! They looked great and were an elegant touch for those that don’t drink, definitely worth the added cost. We wholeheartedly would recommend this service and use them for our next wedding.

After doing some research and receiving quotes from a few others, my husband and I initially hired Aloha on the Rocks to be our bartenders for our wedding at the Loulu Palm Estate. Not only did Aloha on the Rocks seem to be the most reasonable for what was provided, we were really happy about the quick responses to all of our questions through email.
We also were happy that Aloha on the Rocks provided additional staff to help us with our other needs during our wedding such as passing around pupus, refilling of water, clearing and rinsing of plates, and help in cleaning up.
Before our wedding, Shaun, the owner, called and made sure all of our questions were answered and was very pleasant to talk to.
During our wedding, Shaun and his staff were very helpful. According to our caterer and coordinator, the additional staff we hired for the extra help did need a bit of a push to help with certain things, but overall were really pleasant and helpful. My husband and I actually felt really bad because at one point, they even had to work in the darkness, rinsing dishes. They were troopers!
We’d like to thank Shaun and his staff for a job well done, and we would like to recommend his company for your upcoming events.

During the planning of my daughter’s outdoor wedding reception on the front lawn of our venue out in the country (Kaaawa), we were trying to think of ways to add little touches of ambiance to the reception that would WOW our guests and take away that feeling of a typical backyard barbeque wedding party… when they thought of having a couple of bars set-up w/a hired bartending service. And after emailing and talking to the very few bartending services that we have on our island decided to go with Aloha On The Rocks because they were the only service that had a review here on Unilocal!
We weren’t disappointed! They were a little pricey, but you pay for what you get right? And not only did they provide the ice, soda, juice & mixers, but they also brought their own tables, a tent & coolers for the ice too, (they provide everything, but the alcohol!) They also came with a full staff of at least 6 – 8 people that not only tended a bar set-up in our cocktail & pupu area, (which they quickly moved to the dinner area and right on schedule), but they picked up glasses, (which we rented from them), off the tables, cleared tables for us (we added this service), and also went around and made sure that our guests glasses were always filled with champagne! (And if champagne wasn’t your beverage of choice… they went and got for you whatever else that you preferred.)
They were all very professional, super nice & friendly, smiled through the entire event and of course tended bar like champs… making perfect drinks & concoctions! Our guests, the Bride & Groom and their huge 14 people wedding party totally enjoyed them and were super impressed! Having a bar service definitely added that little touch of ambiance & class to our outdoor wedding! It was truly a night to remember!
