Aqua Zone Scuba Diving & Snorkeling

Just what we needed!

I went on a snorkel with turtle adventure with Tyler this week and had a GREAT time! :) I saw many turtles and fish, they are just so adorable! Tyler dove down multiple times and took lots of great close-​up photos of the turtles for us. Really enjoyed the trip and I would highly recommend it to everybody who wants to have some fun time swimming with the turtles!

Snorkeling with the turtles in Hawaii was an amazing experience! I didn’t expect to see so many just chilling out! :) Christina, our instructor, was great! Super friendly and knowledgeable! She made the trip effortless and fun~ She took tons of photos so that all you have to do is enjoy your experience without the worry of capturing it all on film! Definitely recommend~

Bought their Travel Zoo Snorkel rental package and boy do you get what you pay for. Buyer beware. Horrible customer service. Shop attendant went out to lunch and came back 40 minutes after the «will return» time posted. Gear in poor condition and some of the items included were not available at time of rental. I should have stuck with Snorkel Bob’s.

So I went scuba for the first time with this place, Christina was the instructor she was great and very thorough. The experience was really amazing but I have some constructive criticism: our group was too big, there were 8 or 9 people in my group and it was a bit crammed and hectic. The boat felt crammed to me and I really do love the way Christina taught the course and conducted Herself she was so professional and great but if you are going to take that many people on a dive you need to make sure people are using common sense like don’t step on the persons head below you when you get out of the water or wait patiently for the person above you to continue pulling rope out of water bf rudely taking rope for oneself. I had a great time I just wish a rule in such a big group would have been mandatory. I also felt like I had no personal space in the water! And was continually being pushed in front of the instructor when we were down there and she would tell me to get behind her but that was hard to do when I kept getting trampled on by other people so personal space and respect others should be a rule they enforce in the water as well as limit the people per group bc mine was way too large and it hindered my experience.

Amazing amazing experience and would do it over and over again! The team here is awesome and we all had a great time. Christina was our scuba instructor who was freakin amazing-it’s definitely her calling because she led the group gracefully and flawlessly. They prep us really well with prior instructions in the pool, so I felt ready and confident to dive in the ocean when it was time. We saw amazing marine life such as a white tip shark and many turtles, which was my favorite! We saw about 7 of them; it was incredible and I can’t stop thinking about it. It’s a great experience and would definitely recommend it to everyone!

The people at Aqua Zone Scuba Diving were awesome. Very professional and well prepared. They knew reefs and where the fish we wanted to see were at. I will definitely use them again. Their prices were very competitive with other dive operators.” This was my daughter’s first time Scuba and they handled it awesome in the learn to dive program, she has since become certified and we will return to dive with Aqua Zone Scuba Diving.

Scuba diving was the ONE thing I really wanted to try in Hawaii, and I’m so glad my first experience was with Aqua Zone. My friend and I called around to a few places before deciding on Aqua Zone. Our main deciding factor was availability because we did not book way ahead of time so other places were already filled up.
Since we were staying in Kailua, trying to find parking in Waikiki was a huge pain. Fortunately Aqua Zone gave us a good tip of parking at the zoo and walking over to the Marriott shopping center where they are located. Once we arrived (few minutes late) our instructor Greg turned out to be one of the chillest and most awesome people I met during my week in Hawaii. He made us feel relaxed as first-​timers and went through exactly what we needed to know when diving without sounding like a monotone college professor. Super engaging! For some reason, my friend and I were the only two people in the class (usually there are more) so it was great to have personal attention while learning.
We spent a few hours in the hotel pool to practice basic scuba diving techniques before heading out to Ala Wai Boat Harbor for the real deal. Unfortunately the swell was too strong for the boat to sail out that day, and my only complaint is how long we had to wait until receiving that news from the captain. We were able to reschedule for the following day (good thing we did not have anything else planned) and before we knew it, I was diving in the ocean for the first time.
Breanna was the instructor that took us on our dive, and she was absolutely wonderful. She made me feel safe, and we had so much fun checking out the giant turtles and schools of colorful fish! During the second dive, I felt super exhausted so she even strung me along and helped me make it back to the boat. How kind of her to help a weakling like me! Ha. Anyways you can purchase photos of your scuba diving adventures afterwards for $ 35 and though I would have liked more, some of them were pretty good. Yes, Facebook worthy.
Overall I would recommend Aqua Zone to anyone looking for an exceptional scuba diving adventure, whether you are taking an introductory lesson or just joining the crew for an outing as a certified diver. Everyone is very friendly and all about having a good time!

Three years ago I dove with Aqua Zone and they were great. When I booked my vacation to Hawaii this year I made my reservation with Aqua Zone again. They have gotten better!
Our dive master Christina was excellent. A true professional and a great photographer.
We had an awesome shipwreck dive and a good reef dive. Aqua Zone is a great dive company.

Aqua Zone was great! I was able to experience the Rusty Divers class a couple hours before I dove and am so glad I did. Both dives were at my comfort level (30 — 40 feet) and Lindsay and Bree were very helpful and great instructors. Bree took great photos of both dives and led us around the Turtle Canyon and Nautilus sites safely under the water. The boat ride was comfortable and convenient with Captain Greg, too. Thanks to everyone for keeping me safe and showing us a good time!

The training session was a lot of fun in the Marriott’s pool. Bree did a great job explaining what we needed to do. She could have made it more fun, but she was patient and caring when two of our people freaked out. It really is pretty gross to see pubes floating around in a pool, but what do you expect? My partner was one of the people who couldn’t hang, but they were cool and gave us a partial refund and let him snorkel with us.
The drive over to the boat was fun. We were joined by the other instructor who seems to get a lot of great reviews here on Unilocal.We loaded up and went to the dive site. Halfway through the first dive the old guy of our group freaked out and we had to cut the first dive short. You really should expect people to punk out when they’re trying something for the first time as bizarre as scuba diving. It’s part of it, and I don’t dock them for that. They also had Rx goggles which was great since I wear glasses.
The second dive site wasn’t as much fun as the first, but it was still really amazing. People were getting sea sick left and right on the boat, and I feel like a rec of some dramamine might be worthwhile.
Okay, so everything’s pretty much a 5-​star rating until now. My experience to this point was seriously one of the most fun things I’ve ever done. If what happened next, never happened, I’d gladly send everyone I know to this place.
Our fearless leader Bree kept fumbling with the camera after the first dive. She told us in the van that she was discounting our $ 35 picture fee to $ 20 because she didn’t take as many pictures as she’d like. The pictures are half the fun, right? Well, almost all of the pictures she emailed were not from our dive. The people were definitely not our group. I think maybe 2 or 3 of the set were actually from our dive. You can see the date stamps on the pictures, and they’re all over the place.
I feel like that money is really just a way for the instructors to make extra money, which is fine, but it feels unethical to sell me pictures of other people’s dives. There was a dude who looked enough like me and the setting was basically the same, that it may well have just been me, so I got my humble brag Facebook pic. But, seriously. Why be dishonest? Really worth the $ 60 you got from our group that day to have people think you’re cheating them? And, really, $ 20 and $ 60 is nothing. It’s the deception that’s the problem.
Overall, the camera probably isn’t going to malfunction during your dive and you probably won’t be cheated out of $ 20, so go with this place an have a great time.

I’ve been meaning to write a review for Aqua Zone for awhile. A few weeks ago, my boyfriend, him mom, and myself became scuba certified through Aqua Zone. Overall we had a fantastic experience and I would recommend to anyone. Most notably are the individuals who work there. We had a misunderstanding at one point in the process and Jenn, the manager, was extremely accommodating and willing to work things out with us. We are so thankful; the world needs more managers like her who put the customer first and isn’t just interested in profit.
Next, the crew/​instructors were great. Christina, our instructor was incredibly patient and fun to be around. She will also ensure that you walk out of there knowing everything you need to know! We didn’t spend much time with Lindsey or the other instructors (Devin, Jason?) but they were helpful and enthusiastic from the small interactions we had with them.
Everyone we spoke to on the phone (notably Alexis) was really helpful and kind. Ben was very patient and kind as well.
Lastly, we loved Randy! What an awesome captain! He was there to help when I was confused or unsure of something, and he really contributed to a fun/​positive atmosphere.

This was the first time my husband and I scuba dived, and it was by far the best experience ever! Christina was so patient on explaining what we needed to know, and her personality just made everything so comfortable. Definitely doing this again!

Came in for Rx Goggles — and the gal working was super friendly and even offered us some brochures on great snorkeling spots. Great, friendly, and knowledgable customer service!

I had such an amazing experience with Christina. I was gifted a two tank dive trip for my Birthday! This was by far the best diving group I’ve been on in Hawaii! The staff was super friendly and helpful! They made me feel very comfortable and excited. The best part of the dive was the photos! Christina got some amazing shots of the trip with turtles, Sharks, shipwreck, reef etc. I will definitely be diving here again :)!!!

Consistent dives and friendly staff. Equipment is always ready to go and they do a good job of making sure everything is coordinated as schedule. I love the turtles spots they bring you to. So majestic. Highly recommend a dive with them if you are visiting Oahu.

this business deserves 10 stars!!! I found them through a deal on spreebird /​travel zoo… and I’m so glad we tried them out. there are SOOOOO many companies to choose from, so it was getting a bit overwhelming. The experience was by far the BEST thing we did on our first trip to hawaii. the boat leaves from a dock just north of the mall and we take it towards diamond head and get anchored in the middle of the ocean. the view is breathtaking. while on the boat, they give you all the background info and the awesome guide (Christina) and the captain are so informative and very funny.
Once in the water, there are fish and turtles swimming right by you and it’s incredible! they provide boogey boards for anyone who wants to just relax and look… or you can dive down if you want with the special snorkel they provide that doesn’t take in water.
all in all, myself, my husband and our three teenagers LOVED the the entire experience! don’t miss it!

My wife found this place on some online deal and I’m glad she did. I love getting surprised with a great experience when I’m not expecting it because I really didn’t know what to expect aside from we’re going snorkeling somewhere.
I’ll start from the beginning. Their marina where they load is pretty convenient to get to from any part of Waikiki and there was plenty of parking, just feed the pay stand and your set. We had to wait a bit for everyone to get there before loading on the boat but it gave us a chance to people watch and see other people doing diving tours and other ocean type stuff.
After a quick orientation you’re on your way. Keep your camera handy since you’ll have unique views of Waikiki from the boat as your taken out to what looks like the deep ocean, probably a mile out or more from the shore. After a short ride we were jumping into the water with our snorkel gear and hunting turtles.
This review wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t mention Christina, our guide and photographer. She got our group ready, was entertaining and did a great job trying to make everyone’s experience amazing! She was out in the water helping us find the turtles and we were able to find them within minutes.
There was probably about 7 – 10 of us in the water so it never felt overly crowded and we were for the most part spread out. There were divers from other companies (and our own boat) out there too but Christina just worked with us snorkelers.
The awesome part was she had her own waterproof camera and for only $ 20 will give you ALL of her photos from the trip. She encouraged us to get near the turtles so she could take photos of us with them but I think we were the only ones who remembered. She also dived down and took some great up close shots of the turtles that none of us novice snorkelers could pull off.
After what seemed like 5 minutes but was really much longer, we were loading back on the boat to get back to the marina. Going back we passed some dolphins and the captain drove the boat by and stopped so we were able to see the dolphins swimming next to the boat too, an added plus to the ride!
One last note for those who might be worried about their swimming ability. They have a long rope you can hang from out in the water and boogie boards that strap to your wrist so there shouldn’t be any issue if you are a weak swimmer or even can’t swim!
I would recommend this to anyone staying in Honolulu since it’s an experience of a lifetime and will cost less than what you spend on a day in food!

Hatte mir fuer 5 Tage ein Schnorchelset ausgeliehen. Das Equipment (hatte nur die einfache Variante) war spitze und nicht mit den Supersonderangeboten bzw. den kaufbaren in den ABC Stores zu vergleichen. 25 $ absolut in Ordnung.
Bei der Abholung war das Personal recht freundlich und bemueht. Wohingegen der anwesende Verkaeufer bei der Rueckgabe so unfreundlich war, wie ich es in 2 Wochen Hawaii nirgends sonst erlebt habe. So eine genervte Attituede vor Kunden an den Tag zu legen und ohne ein Wort die Quittung entgegenzuknallen geht nicht. Deshalb 2 Sterne Abzug. Es gibt wohl noch Alternativen (Snorkel Bob) aber ob die besser sind weiss ich nicht.
Im Grossen und Ganzen dennoch okay, weil die Ausruestung zu dem Preis einfach top ist und die Verkaeuferin am Abholungstag wirklich bemueht war.
