This place claims to have the best acai bowl on the whole island… I’m not sure if I can agree with that claim. I strongly believe that a bowl of fruit and granola is not worth $ 9, but it was still good. It was like eating a smoothie topped with fresh fruit and granola. I wish there were more granola though to add more texture.

The Acai bowls here are totally delicious, despite being in the mall this is totally worth checking out. The size is great for the price, the freshness is evident and the bowl is delicious. The shop has really neat other local products worth checking out too! Definitely try.

I have always wanted to try there Acai bowl and now I finally had the chance too. It definitely has a great flavor to it not a lot of places you can taste the Acai but this place puts a good amount of ingredients that you can still taste the Acai. Not a lot of blue berries though. But otherwise than that everything was great. Acai bowls are perfect for those hot days at the beach or after dance practice snack. Love this place and will come back.

Hands down, BEST acai bowl! We came twice during our stay in Hawaii. We tried (Simply Blue and Kaiser) The taste and texture trumps Lanikai Juice. Even though this is in a mall, something about the shop makes it feel more authentic then sterile Lanikai Juice. Maybe because they serve it in a bowl if you eat in? There was a line the second time we showed up but the line moved quickly, in and out within 10 minutes. I also tried their Turkey Pesto panini which was pretty good and the Kahlua pork breakfast burrito was good but not what I expected size wise. Size matters! The breakfast burrito is very small compared to the ones I’m used to in NY.
There are also cute Made in Hawaii knick knacks if you need to pick up souvenirs. If you are visiting Ala Moana center, do yourself a favor and try the Acai bowl here!

FOOD:
While Blue Hawaii LifeStyle has a number of food options (soups, salads, sandwiches, poke bowls) I only come here for the acai bowl, which is pretty tasty! I think they do a good job with the blend of acai and berries — it is not too bitter, but you still taste a lot of the acai. The blend is creamy, and stays frozen! They also include just the right amount of fresh fruit and granola. YUM!
SERVICE & SPACE:
You order at the counter and wait for your name to be called, but the service is alright. Everyone is nice enough and the orders come out quickly.
The space is unusual because it is ½ restaurant, ½ gift shop. But, it works. I enjoy poking around the candles and lotions while waiting for my order. There isn’t a whole bunch of seating, but I’ve never been without a seat.
PRICE:
I think the $ 9 for a regular (not Large) acai bowl is about what I would expect to pay. I think they could charge more, being located in a busy mall, but I’m glad they don’t.

I had spent a few days in Hawaii by the time I visited BHL and their tag line was «best acai bowl on Oahu!» or something like that, so I went for it! Passing by BHL in the Ala Moana center was convenient and no line, so we ordered their acai bowl — cost us about $ 10 which is pretty normal for a bowl in any area, and they had it ready in less than 5 minutes. It was good, but I wasn’t blown away. The ingredients didn’t strike me as insanely fresh and they skimped a little on the granola (as you can see in the picture). The employees weren’t too friendly either which kind of threw us off, but went with it anyway!
Worth a visit if you’re crazily craving an acai bowl during your shopping experience at the Ala Moana, but there are definitely better spots on the Island.

One of the best places to get an Acai Bowl. Don’t be fooled. Many people say there’s better places but I’ll stick to my one-​and-​only true place of getting a Blue Hawaii Classic Acai Bowl loaded with fruits, honey, and oats. For less than $ 10 you can get a regular sized bowl (for here or to go) that will satisfy your tummy good enough to possibly miss lunch or dinner. The fruits are fresh, perfectly ripen and compliments the Acai mix perfectly. The Store is usually crowded with many tourists from all over the world especially Japan. Tons of selfies and pictures taken with Blue Hawai‘i’s famous Acai Bowls. Staff are friendly, young, and energetic ready and willing to help you with your order. Give this place a try… you won’t regret it!

Recently, we’ve been on sort of a health kick and have been trying several establishments that serve açai bowls. While roaming about Ala Moana Center, we have passed this establishment and often thought it was JUST a touristy-​store. Gosh, we were wrong!
We were drawn in by a lovely advertisement for their açai bowls, smoothies, panini sandwiches and fresh squeezed juices. The décor was sort of «surf shop» looking. On one wall, there was a lot of curved glasswork resembling our great Hawaiian waves. While a curved countertop with seating divided the store into two (local apparel, music and home décor on one side and the other side featured nutritional or food) sections. At the back of the store was an open kitchen with large menu boards posted. The young female workers were all very friendly and helpful. We took a few moments to decide on WHICH flavor profile (there were 7 options) of açai bowl that we wanted. Açai bowl portions are available in small or regular sizes and are priced from $ 4.50 up to $ 10.35, dependent upon toppings and size ordered.
This was our first dine so we selected the regular sized Blue Hawaii Classic priced at $ 9.85. The açai was blended with organic soy milk, strawberries, apple juice and bananas. It was topped with sliced fresh strawberries, bananas, granola and organic honey. We could have requested additional toppings such as bee pollen or additional honey but we just wanted to try this basic bowl. For the flavors, price, portion size and location convenience, I dare say that this shop offers up an açai bowl as good as our other top-​rated and authentic café, Tropical Tribe.
We’ll be back and now know that we shouldn’t have snubbed this store!

Ah, the memories. I had my first acai bowl from Blue Hawaii Lifestyle. They are the one that I compare all acai bowls since. A very high bar has been set.
Blue Hawaii Lifestyle is located in the Nordstrom Wing of Ala Moana Shopping Center on the 1^st floor. There is ample parking, but it does fill up as the day goes by.
The store is small and crowded. There is a long counter that goes down the middle of the store (front the entrance to the food counter in the back). The stools are on both sides of the counter. There are tables and shelves that display a variety of local goodies — honey, facial products, clothing to name a few.
The menu is large enough to read and behind the counter. There area acai bowls, drinks/​smoothies, sandwiches. The acai bowls are what usually brings the crowds. You can get them in different sizes and for here or to go. I love the drinks/​smoothies. My favorite is the lava flow. My children enjoy the turkey pesto sandwich. Hubby gets the spirulina acai bowl. All of these things are good, just a little pricey. I get it! They are located in the mall, but still! I have a feeling that it’s not just that they put out a quality product, it might be all the tourists that frequent the place to try the acai bowls. It seems to be a crowd favorite for the tourists that seek out this place.
Because of the bunch of new places putting out their own version of acai bowls, paying the high price from here isn’t appealing anymore. There are places that put out better acai bowls for a better price. But, when I am shopping an craving something fresh, I will definitely come here!

My favorite place to get acai bowls.
I always order the lemi fresh one. The lime juice adds such a nice and refreshing touch to an already delicious acai bowl. The prices are pretty average for an acai bowl. It’s nice that they have different sizes available. I believe there are three sizes, and I usually get the middle size which is the perfect amount for me.
It’s also conveniently located at Ala Moana Shopping Center.

I love this place! They have excellent acai bowls! Their Lemi fresh is yummers! And my favorite sandy here is the tomato pesto melt on a bagel! I usually always pair it with the Yerba mate canned drinks they sell here :) I’ve also tried their jasmine acai bowl, but couldn’t really taste the jasmine. It was still refreshing.

I love love love the honey they use on their acai bowl. I was suppose to ask them which honey is it from the jars/​bottles they are selling in their store but there is no one available to talk to. There’s this Japanese lady whom I’m not even sure if she works there or not, but she has only been assisting the Japanese tourists customer but is also eating a bowl of acai. My guess is that she’s just a Japanese-​friendly customer.
I only order the acai bowls here. So far I have only tried Blue Hawaii and Jamine one. Both of which are very good.

Poke Bowls are the best here pair it up with one of their many shakes (lava flow is delicious) and you have the perfect meal. I think they are well known for their acai bowls, I’ve tried one before and it really is good, fresh fruits and honestly I’m not of healthy eater so I don’t think I’m the best person to vouched for these.
Their poke bowls are really my comfort food, spicy tuna is just right not to spicy and overwhelming. You can choose what flavor rice, the garlic is the best seller and an topping (try the taegu, add additional .50 for another topping of furikake). The mix of cold spicy tuna on a bed of warm garlic rice is a winner. The bowl is filling and I can never finish them myself.
The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, I forgot her name but she seems like she is there everyday, very friendly and outgoing. If you want a quick bite and something refreshing I suggest you make it out here. They are in the Nordstrom Wing a few stores down GUESS and Pandora.
They have outdoor seating and indoor bar seating, it’s nice to enjoy your meal there and see all the other products they carry. They have Hawaii made products, jams, honey, shirts and cute souvenirs.
The missing star is just the pricing, it is a bit on the pricey side so my wallet cant afford to come here 2x a week which I usually spend over $ 20 for my meal.

Love the BlueHawaii Classic acai bowl! I’m obsessed! The poke is also great. The people behind the counter have always been courteous and get the orders out quickly. I have a new favorite place to eat when I work at Ala Moana!

Even several years after, I am glad to find that the acai bowls at Blue Hawaii LifeStyle are still just as good — perhaps even better — than I remember.
Hawaii was where I lost my acai bowl virginity. And damn! how things have changed. The whole acai craze hit the mainland and now even Jamba Juice makes their own version of the acai bowl. I have since eaten my share of acai bowls and I always felt they never compared to what I had in Hawaii.
Thank god, my friend and I decided to take a break on our hot day shopping in the Ala Moana to frequent one of the places I tried the last time because my memory did not deceive me.
Here is what I ordered this time:
Blue Hawaii Classic– reminded me exactly why I fell in love with these in the first place! The ones I have tried in Los Angeles have their acai blends with a variety of different things to accomodate the health concious crowd. Here the acai blend is pretty simple and straightforward– berry goodness with a hint of tartness. On top are the strawberries, bananas, blueberries, granola, and honey. They provide the right amount of sweetness to counteract the tartness as well as crunch and texture. My friend and I got the regular size and this was really not enough. If you are going to share, make sure to at least get the large.
The store also has a more extensive menu including sandwiches and poke bowls if you are hungry. In addition to food items, the store has a variety of organic products on sale that are fun to peruse as you enjoy your food. Walking around may be preferable as the chairs are not super comfortable to sit in…
The service was pretty quick and friendly. Located in the Ala Moana on the Nordstrom wing, parking is available in the lots.
I just wanted to update on how happy I was to have had acai bowls again here and glad that I was not disappointed! :D

A perfect refueling stop at Ala Moana

I wish I lived nearby. I would be a regular.

My #1 acai bowl has been Salted Lemon, but I would now put Blue Hawaii at a close second!
The acai bowl here tastes so fresh! Their acai blend is perfect, not crazy sweet, just the right balance between sweet/​tart. Freshly cut fruit, and they’ve got the perfect granola to acai ratio. I usually order extra granola with all of my acai bowls, but that really isn’t necessary here. They put a layer of granola at the bottom of the bowl as well as at the top.
I like that there’s a little counter area where you can sit. The shop does sell other things like poke bowls and beverages (teas and smoothies), but I’d come back just for the acai bowl.
They do also sell a bunch of touristy looking gift items, even complete with little signs in Japanese to accompany each item. I’ll stick with the bowls.

Blue Hawaii Lifestyle is a combo retail store and snake shop. They sell T-​shirts with cute Hawaii themes, local made products, soup, sandwiches, poke bowls, and Acai bowls.
We popped in for a quick break/​fuel up while shopping and tried the Kaiser Acai Bowl – Acai blended with berries, soy milk and spirulina, topped with fruit, granola, and honey – except I ask for no honey on top otherwise it’s too sweet, the Turkey Pesto Panini – pretty standard, made with store bought ingredients, but still tasty with toasted bread, pesto, and melty cheese – and the Ahi Bowl – fresh and clean tasting with lots of Furukaki to season the rice.
It was a pricey snack for sure, but it’s in Ala Moana after all. Blue Hawaii Lifestyle is not a bad place to take a break during your shop-​a-​thon.

I’ve been coming here for a few years. It’s a nice place to stop by for a snack or something refreshing after shopping all day. The service here is as quick as possible with or without a crowd. The classic acai bowl is by far my favorite. Everything about it is very refreshing — the acai, bananas, strawberries, and granola. The touch of honey at the top is wonderful. There isn’t too much such that the entire bowl is too sweet.
The only caveat about this place is the price. One small acai bowl is roughly $ 8.50 + depending on what you get. The dish itself is tiny yet satisfying, but the $ 8.50+ price tag is a bit of a turn off, especially after shopping.
Overall, this place puts out great acai bowls if you can disregard the price.

…None other than Blue Hawaii!
It is the best when it comes to getting your acai bowl fix. Acai is made just right, not grainy or chunky, very smooth and not watery! The small is pretty big, and it’s enough for two.
They use a whole banana and strawberries, and the granola-​to-​acai ratio is juuuust right! Be careful though, you’re bound to get a brain freeze from scarfing their delicious acai down too quickly.
Their cheapest is just acai with granola, but their most popular is the Blue Hawaii, ($ 8.35) which also has bananas, honey, and strawberries. Their Kaiser is blended with spirulina (yum), and the jasmine, is blended with… Guess. Jasmine! One of my favourites to get~
You can choose to dine there with their cute coloured bowls, or get take out, which to me looks a lot less in quantity than the dine-​in bowls.
Along with acai bowls, they do sell poke bowls, which unfortunately, I can’t give them the gold for that. The poke are in large chunks (eek) and was very chewy. It wasn’t worth the price.
They also sell shirts, soaps, and a lot of Hawaii items which I haven’t bothered to look through. Whenever you’re shopping in Ala Moana, this place is conveniently located near Guess, nordstrom e-​bar, and Nordstrom gelato!
So when you’re opting for a healthy choice, head to Blue Hawaii! …and then get some gelato. :) Happy eating!
