As good as new! We inherited a dining room set that is over 50 years old. The foam in the seats was disintegrating and falling out of the bottom like sand. Bob took one look and knew exactly what needed to be done. Upon opening one chair up, he said that the webbing inside was still in good shape so it didn’t need replacing.
It took us about a month to decide on a fabric that we liked and Bob was very patient and helpful along the way. We settled on a trim similar to the original and he reupholstered all eight chairs. They also did some refinishing on the woodwork which had been chewed by a small dog.
Very professional and knowledgeable, we had total confidence in Bob and his crew. We are very happy customers! Excellent work!

We have a very nice queen-​size sofa sleeper in our rental condo in Waikiki and it is getting old and the foam seat cushions were breaking down and getting flat. I googled where to take foam cushions for re-​stuffing and made a few calls. It seemed like most places focused on vehicles and boats. Bob Arkus looked like he worked on vehicles, boats, and furniture.
Finding his shop on Sumner St near the K-​Mart on Nimitz was a little difficult. It’s in the very back of a business complex, and the signage isn’t very clear. You just have to go all the way to the very back and it’s back there. The Costco parking lot is over the back wall.
We brought in the two bottom seat cushions to be re-​stuffed with new foam. We were advised on the correct foam combination to use, given an estimate of $ 600, and given a finish date in 2 days. Sure enough, right on target, we got a call that the cushions were done. They are AMAZING, and just like new. It’s given our sofa a whole new life and it was absolutely worth it.

Definitely 5 stars! My mom just had a living room furniture set reupholstered by Bob Arkus. We have had the set for many years, and due to a cleaning accident the upholstery was ruined. Bob did a full reupholster with fabric we selected, and the set looks and feels brand new. More importantly Bob was a pleasure to work with, worked with her travel schedule, and finished way before time. Bob was completely trustworthy from the beginning, as were his staff members. We definitely recommend Bob for your upholstery needs!
