Great find, staff so nice, ham n spinach bagel fantastic, available bowl outstanding. Cappaccino delicious. Cute décor. Have protein boxes like Starbucks but way better — contain celery n peanut butter, walnuts crackers cheese n grapes! Yummy! Definately will be back.

Love going to Coffee Talk. It’s such a relaxing atmosphere(read: not starbucks!) and people working there are very friendly. They don’t always have it, but if it’s there, try the banana bread. I know, everyone everywhere has banana bread, but this banana bread is da bomb!

It is still alive to this day and every time I come in this shop, I always feel positive energy and ready to have a nice coffee and sit down. There were never problems where you can sit because plenty of seats everywhere! The people who works there knows me and it is nice to come in and say hello. I am a deaf customer and they are always considerate. Parking can be hassles to find and usually a metered parking in the back behind coffee talk. I live very close and can walk over. Fun ways to walk with your friend or loved ones and enjoy coffee and muffins.

What a great café! Drinks are delicious, staff is very friendly, and the whole room is full of natural light. I go to work on my laptop and drink good brew and espresso drinks – so far, all very good. The shop is clean and well attended. My one complaint – and it’s minor – is that there is a HUGE piece of «artwork» overlooking the whole counter and lounge area that is Obama’s giant face. It’s rather creepy and eerie, and I am flummoxed that a small business owner would champion a President whose policies are so anti-business. Anyway, this does not affect the delicious drinks.

Christine L writes a good review(below). Its hit or miss with staff here. The women working the front(including the owner) are great. The younger staff can be a bit short and even a little rude. Maybe its a millennial-thing. The food is consistently above average for a coffee shop. Its real-restaurant quality for sandwiches. My kids like the smoothies, and $ 5 seems reasonable. Venue is great. They just installed new floors, and its very open and spacious. Natural lighting makes it pleasant.

I really do go back and forth on his place and have come to the realization that you just have to get the right people working to have a great experience here. Every time the owner is working(an older woman with short sandy hair) you will always get standup service from either her or the employees she has on that day. When she isn’t around I feel the service definitely slides downward. I now make it a point to always ask for my chai to be made extra hot or to have the syrup and milk steamed together. Sometimes they are happy to do this and sometimes I get the eye rolling. But if I’m going to pay $ 5 for a drink you better believe I want it made right. Recently they’ve had some really yummy baked goods available, including a bacon and cheese turnover type deal that rocks. And they’ve started serving pre-packaged sandwiches and protein boxes that sit on the counter ready to grab and go. A great idea for students, people on their way to work, or even the off tourist. All in all this place can be hit and miss but as long as you know that going in, you should have a decent time.

I’ve traveled past this place many times on the bus, and always wondered if it was good. After giving it a try, my only regret is not coming here sooner. The service was friendly, and were apologetic after a technical difficulty with the latte machine. Ordered the Black Forest Mocha, and it was very good. Thanks to elite coffee shops in California, I can’t say it’s the best I’ve had, but among Hawaii shops, it was terrific. The menu board said it was cherry, chocolate, hazelnut and coconut. I’m not a fan of coconut, but it wasn’t overwhelming, and you could pick up the subtle flavors of all the listed flavors. At $ 5.50, I probably can’t afford to come here often enough to be a regular. But whenever I have some cash to burn and a craving for a good cup of coffee, this place will certainly be on my short list.

So I waited in line… Then stood at the register for about 10 minutes while the baristas(and I use the term lightly, as it hardly applies) proceeded to make drinks and ignore me. The holy trinity of customer service is greet, help, thank– no one said«I’ll be with you in just a minute, hello welcome» they avoided eye contact. Then when they were finally ready, she looked past me to say«can I help who’s next?» I had to step into her line of vision to finally order. This is why people pay double the price at Starbucks.

Enjoy a retro vibe with some magical sorcery coffee that makes you feel possessed by Harry Potter. Drank an iced mocha and felt cross faded. Crazy strong, quality brew.

I recently came here for coffee with several friends, and I’ve been back every Sunday afternoon since. The cinnamon roll latte(hot!) is my favorite, and I’ve tried both the goat cheese sandwich and the mushroom melt. Both are really delicious, and the focaccia they’re served on is one of my favorite parts. I also had their banana white chocolate cinnamon scone the other week – that was amazing. I haven’t tried the banana bread or the cream cheese cookies, but they’re on my list of goodies that look amazing. I’ve always been able to get a lot of work done here, and the temperature helps immensely – you know how a lot of coffee shops are either too hot or freezing cold? Coffee Talk is a comfortable temperature, though I will admit that if I’ve been hunkered down in a corner for a few hours it does get a little warm, but never uncomfortably so. It’s a Sunday tradition now, between the church service I sing for and my afternoon rehearsals at Chaminade just down the street, to head to Coffee Talk, get a coffee and lunch, and if I’m still feeling hungry, a pastry, and I love it!

Rainy days and lattes always make me smile. Couldn’t think of a better place to be than snuggled up next to a dreamy cup of my favorite latte than Coffee Talk. The line wasn’t long today which made it that much nicer to walk in to. The baked goods were sitting there so cute like little minions all jumping and waving their arms asking to be picked. But I chose to compliment my mug of love with a fresh made bacon & Swiss croissant. I was in the mood for a savory bite today. Ahh, flaky buttery perfection. Maxi Priest’s «I just wanna be close to you» is dancing out of the speakers singing nothing but the truth of my love for a good latte and some QT at Coffee Talk.

I’ve always loved Coffee Talk and their funky independent coffee shop vibe. The homemade pastries are really delicious. But what keeps me coming back like an addict on the regular is their iced toddy. Apparently in other places toddy is an alcoholic beverage however at Coffee Talk it is a deliciously smooth cold brew coffee. I suggest getting it with some vanilla syrup and a splash of half-and-half but really you could have it black and it’s just as delicious. The cheese cake cookies are also to die for. When I was around 17 my brother and I bought out their supply they had for the day and immediately got sick from overindulging after having had probably about 10 each and finally nine years later I was able to have one again and they’re just as delicious as I remember originally. If you plan on hanging out while enjoying your delicious coffee and treats remember to tell them it’s for here so you can have your drink in a mug and your treat on a plate! The sandwiches are also delicious and filled with yummy delicious sprouts. I recently became a vegetarian but I used to get their tuna avocado or their turkey avocado at least once a week.

The coffee is not as good as Brue Bar or my favorite place Glazer’s, but it’ll do when you’re in a hurry and can’t drink another McStarbucks. Service is pretty good and they do have sandwiches and a bit more food than the usual pastries you find at other coffee shops.

Coffee Talk is a neighborhood hangout selling espresso and other drinks, baked goods, sandwiches and salads. This is a place where you can settle in to catch up with friends, work; or grab a flavored iced latte to go and sip on it while walking around Kaimuki. They have a large variety of flavored syrups and a list of combo flavor suggestions like the Thai-Dee Haupia, Turtle Toffee, and Nutella to get you going. I love the hot Creamy Caramel Latte, it’s sweet and rich, perfect for dessert. Stop by the next time you need your caffeine fix.

My parents don’t like their coffee the way I do… strong! So on one of my excursions, I searched for a place to camp out for a couple of hours, and I found Coffee Talk. Nice chill vibe when I walked in. Quite a number of people working or studying… the wifi comes in handy. But they serve really good coffee… and I felt wide awake as I worked. The only thing is that they close early, but for a late afternoon, it’s purrrrfect!

I’ve been coming here for over 13 years and I love that Coffee Talk has stayed true to itself. The staff is always great. I love the friendliness of the owner and the sweet cook who’s familiar faces make me happy to keep coming back. My go to is the breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel and an Americano. Their coffee is butt kickin’ and kicks me into high gear when I need to get work done. Do yourself a favor and support your friendly local Kaimuki business. Their menu is great and parking is easy. U.S. They always have flyers of what’s happening around the island. That’s it. I love Coffee Talk

Drinking Java with the locals makes me feel at home, it reminds me of my graduate years at University of Hawaii. With so much art around you along with the Java, I think I might just paint the next Mona Lisa. Great prices and just the place to catch breakfast or brunch. My only complaint is parking but don’t worry you might have to walk 3 min. Not to worry with all the pastries, you feel the need to walk it off

Great place to come for coffee! I ordered an ice coffee latte and wow it was in a huge beer mug glass! It was so yummy too! The décor in here is cute too and staff very friendly! I love supporting other local cafes vs Starbucks. Great place to come to study or for meetings.

Coffee Talk is a good place for studying but has a frighteningly limited number of outlets for computers. The coffee is good, as are the pastries. I like the Black Forest Mocha. Staff is friendly.

I am the first to admit that I am a victim of consumerism. Starbucks has a hold on me, most often not because they’re the best, but because they’re the easiest. Easy to locate, easiest to find parking, and easiest to jump in and out of during a busy work day. Yesterday when I found myself with some time to spare after a much needed acupuncture session, I decided to take this place off of my «must try» Unilocal bookmark list and treat myself to a non trademarked cup of coffee. Immediately walking in, I loved the vibe of the place. It had a cozy neighborhood feeling and reminded me a lot of places I used to frequent when I lived in Brooklyn. The baked goods on the counter top also had that homemade touch to them that didn’t look like everything tasted the same and everything was perfect. It looked homey and delicious, the type of thing you yearned for while ordering your coffee and really had to argue with your inner fat kid about the fact that«no in fact, you did not need to eat that.» Coffee Talk has a huge selection of latte flavors which was overwhelming at first, so I did what any rational coffee lover would do and ordered two. I ordered the red velvet latte and the marbled latte both made with soy, and both unbelievably delicious. If Coffee Talk was closer to my house, this place hands down would be my go to coffee place forever, and I would be a reformed Starbucks drinker and never be victim of consumerism again. I can say that on the weekends from now on, this is where I will be spending my hard earned money. Take advantage of their stamp cards too! Service was friendly and the drinks are great. A wonderful local find!
