Came in on a Sunday morning at 7:30 am and waited 25 minutes for two take out coffee. Would appreciate if you can put a sign of the waiting time for the coffee similar to the 30 – 40 waiting time for the food

When my boyfriend and I first walked in, we weren’t completely sure on what to do. We were told that we could seat ourselves and then order at the counter. So, we picked a small two-​top and perused the menu. We were brought waters, but if you want anything else beverage-​wise, you have to order at the counter, just like the food.
My boyfriend picked this restaurant out, so I wasn’t aware that there was Asian influence until I got here. You can’t really tell immediately with most of the dishes they offer. It wasn’t until I saw that the menu had Chinese on it, that I realized this was my kind of restaurant. I’m a huge fan of mixing Asian and American foods I like, and Egghead does just that. Usually, places that try to do this end up really far on one end of the spectrum or the other.
I ordered a blended Thai tea, which tasted like what you would get at a bubble tea place. My boyfriend went with a latte of some sorts and liked it.
As for food, I went with the Porky Bowl and a side of Portuguese sausage. Just writing about the Porky Bowl is making me crave it now. It was delicious. I have an affinity for pork belly, and it was sooooo good here. The sausage was cooked nicely as well. My boyfriend got the Tiramisu pancakes and loved them. He said they weren’t overpowering, like other places tend to do with their flavored pancakes.
Egghead is a great place to get brunch, and it also gets you out of Waikiki, which is nice. The only part that sucks is that the tables are close together, so you get to hear all about some dude’s wife the whole time you’re trying to enjoy your food. Anywho, the little service we did get was good, but it’s pretty much self-​service. All they do is deliver your food, take away your plates, and refill waters. And oh, the tables are small, if you’re sitting at a two-​top. If you order a lot, good luck trying to fit them on a two-​top.
I’d definitely come back here if I were in Oahu again. The Porky Bowl is calling my name.

FOOD: I ordered the TARO PANCAKES. Stack of 3, came with a sweet white syrup and coconut shavings. There’s diced up taro on top and inside the pancakes. The pancakes were cooked nicely and the coconut and taro went well together. They were pretty good ! I also ordered the BEEF BAO and it was so good. I love buns and bao and this thing was good. Big cut of juicy meat and had thin slices of cucumber & carrot. Delicious. My cousin ordered a SALMON EGGS BENEDICT and he said it was good.
DRINKS: I had a large iced latte which was good, and really strong .
SEATING: at this place there’s menus somewhere at the front, you order at the register and they will give you a number. You then seat yourself and they will bring your food to you. They take the number off your table after all the food has been delivered. However if you order a beverage, you have to wait at the counter for it before you sit.
PRICING: so I didn’t think it was that expensive but I’ve heard other people say it is. Around $ 20 per person if u get a drink
SERVICE: no servers but all the food runners and cashiers were nice.
The only reason why i take a star off is because it seemed a little dirty in there. As soon as I sat at the table my hand and phone got syrup on it. It was most likely that they were busy and I had sat before they had a chance to buss the table but I mean if you’re gonna have a seat yourself set up then you gotta be on top of cleaning tables.
A good experience overall & can’t wait to go back & try other stuff.

Heard many bad things about this place, but I still wanted to give them a chance. Came here on a Sunday around 830am… They have plenty parking outside. Inside was empty. No one really tells you what to do.
Concept: You order, pay up front and then get your number, find a seat. I usually never tip beforehand on service I haven’t received yet.
After finding my seats, they have preset napkins, fork and knife on the table. Chairs and table are wooden theme. If you order drinks, They will call your name and you’ll go up to the drink pick up area to grab it. They don’t deliver to your table.
I got the crab meat eggs Benedict, with fried rice (read Mel review on being charged extra $ 1 and not being told) they did the same thing to me.
The fried rice tasted salty in some parts, some parts were bland and then some parts were COLD! ugh! inconsistent! no no! The crab meat eggs Benedict was ok, there was some real crab meat, some fake omelette crab meat taste thing. The eggs was over cooked not gooey dripping. Salad was kinda sour, maybe was the dressing. Disappointed.
Service: The guy who did come by to pick up our plate was nice.
Friend got California eggs Benedict: He liked it.
He also got single stack ube pancake and said has more coconut then ube taste. State he could just make it at home himself. From looking at it, looked dry to me not moist like most pancakes.
Had to atleast try this place once… won’t be coming back.
Personal note: 20 mins after I left, my face started getting itchy. I noticed red spots and a rash. I am shocked. I’m not one who is allergic anything or much things but when I saw this I knew, They were a bad idea.

Was excited by a friends instagram about their porky bowl but it very lacking in person. :(it cost $ 8.50 plus the 40 minute wait for a porkless bowl! (Yeah I went there). When I asked if that was the normal size portion I was met with a «yeah…(blank stare)…sorry». :/​. After that the waiter didn’t bother to come and check to see if we were ok or needed anything. Which was a little weird because he was all over the table in front of us.
The only good thing was their macnut latte.
For the same price I’d rather go to Your Kitchen in Kaimuki and get a nice big and tasty Porky bowl!

Food: Wow. The food here is amazingly delicious, if you’re hangry and in need of a big brunch — this is the place to go, the crab omelette serving is plentiful and tasty. It came with a delicious surprise of garlic and parmesan cheese toast/​bread and that was a delight! I had the classic french toast, Portuguese sausages and an egg sunny side up — heaps to eat but very satisfying. Looking around at other’s dishes, you can see the presentation marries the food’s tastes & satisfaction impeccably.
Service: You need to order at the counter and fingers crossed there’s an empty seat! The staff are super friendly and pleasant. You’ll have to self service your own water and condiments.
Ambience: Very trendy lighting and décor, there is indoor and outdoor seating. Not good for large groups (6+). Best for 1 – 4 people groups. There is seating along both windows too.
Parking: There is a parking lot right infront of it. It is 2 – 3 buildings to the right of American Savings bank.

very hidden! you need to carefully look because the place is super in there driveway. it’s before american savings.
SERVICE:
the service there is super good. right when we entered, the waiter told us to get a menu and choose any seat we wanted :) he was cool and friendly. very hyper too haha thats good! so you get your menu and once you know what you want, you go to the front to order & pay for it right away. get the craziness done with first before you enjoy your meal i guess haha the counter girl was super friendly and waited patiently while i was confused on what to get.
FOOD:
i got the crème brûlée. its 2 french toast pieces covered in chocolate and bananas with whipped cream on the side. YUM! i lovvvved it! im such a sweet tooth person so this hit the spot! i didnt know wether to eat it with syrup because it was already so sweet and good so i skipped the syrup. my bf got their california benedict which had avocados, bacon, salsa and eggs. he loved the toppings but disliked the bread it was on. it was like a garlic bread which did not match because it was hard and just overall did not go well with the whole meal. he got side links and loved that because it was farmer johns, which is like the best ever! lol cant wait to go back and try the smores pancakes.
SETTING:
the have indoor AND outdoor seating. you choose where you wanna sit and just make yourselves comfortable :) you also make your own water. its right by the counter. i love the setting of this place, its so cute! with their egghead sign on the wall, i just HAD to take a picture by it! lol there’s AC so dont worry about the heat during summer!

Small brunch spot in the Ward Area, with limited parking spots. Got one a few blocks away with a meter. They had a variety of breakfast omelettes and pancakes. We ended up getting two of their omelettes– the crab (pretty flavorful) and the pork belly (not a lot of meat, and a bit too much going on to really focus on the pork).
The thing we really enjoyed was their Li hing Mui sweet potato fries— so good!!! The sweet and saltiness blended perfectly. Highly recommend.
Overall a good breakfast place, however given difficult parking and quite pricy dishes ($ 15 for omelette), it stands out less.

Honey Latte!!! Order it.
Came w/​all the gf’s and ordered everything. We got the tiramisu and the s’mores pancakes. So good for that morning sugar high. Sounds too sweet? Well, it’s not. It’s creamy and perfect in sweetness. Trust me.
We also tried the cream brûlée French toast, that you can live without… nothin special.
Crab Benny– A little messy. A good portion, worth a try.
Chorizo omelette– I’m not a chorizo fan but the friends did enjoy it. They liked that it was a great savory dish n every bite they got chorizo. They finished that w/​out a problem.

Just had a lovely girls Sunday brunch at Egghead. Arrived around 9:45, parking lot was full and there was a line of people milling around inside and outside (waiting for tables). No one seemed to be leaving. Fortunately, the manager (owner?) came outside and saw me waiting, and informed me that on Sunday’s their customers are allowed to park against the wall of one of the neighboring businesses. First crisis averted. Second crisis: too hot a day to sit at outdoor tables (had my baby in-​tow). That crisis was also averted as my friend ran into one of her friends while we were in line to order. Her friend was sitting at a large table with a big group and they were almost done. So they allowed us to come over, sit with them and then gave us their seats. Whew. Score!
So you stand in line (it was long) to place your order and pay. Get your number, try to find a seat, and they will bring your food order to you. The barista will call out your name when your drink orders are ready.
Here’s what I got:
~Iced honey latte (soy) — hallelujah. Loved this. Snuck a sip of my friends Vietnamese iced coffee… I also give that a big two thumbs up.
~Avo-​corn sandwich w/​sweet potato fries: amazing. I inhaled this. The aioli drizzle ties everything together, and the fries were hot and crispy! It came open-​faced, one side with the avo-​corn guac, the other with eggs scrambled eggs that were light and fluffy. The multigrain bread that everything sat upon was just the perfect height and consistency. Easy to cut with a knife, as this is a messy (but oh-​so tasty) sandwich.
~Cranberry almond scone — this was ok. Nothing special.
~Tried a bite of the Cali Benedict, and that was super yummy as well.
There was one tall gentleman who was totally hustling… bussing and wiping tables, checking how tables were doing, and running food. Really hard working guy, props to him.
Overall, we really enjoyed our brunch and I can’t wait to come back again!!!
*When I go back to try the pancakes… if they blow my mind, then Egghead def deserves 5 stars!

This is a 4.5 stars rating but rounded up for the great service that followed our food.
So a few down sides…
1) parking is few when they are super busy being the new hot place to eat at.
2) seating is limited if they are super busy after you park. Hopefully someone is finished by the time you make your order… Otherwise plan for take out.
3) they are currently running a skeleton crew and you’ll see the same person doing multiple jobs except for the cashier!
If you don’t mind what I just mentioned then the rest is cake… Enjoy!
We ordered Mac Nut Latte, Shrimp n Bacon Omelette, Chorizo Omelette and Strawberry Shortcake Pancakes!
Water is self served and located by the cashier as well as the condiments!
Our Omelettes were both done well and each plate came with nalo greens and we choose parm. garlic toast. The Chorizo was unique in that it was like sausage with Chorizo sauce on it… The Chorizo was soo soft… I’ve never had Chorizo that soft before. The Shrimp and Bacon was good… Most of the shrimp was on one side of the omelette as the bacon was mostly in the middle and the salsa was on the opposite end. The cheese was on the outside in the middle with their unique sauce over it. The Strawberry Shortcake Pancakes came with 3 dollops of whipped cream and their house made strawberry sauce… BRAH… No syrup needed for these cakes… That was a winnah… Will try the French Toast next time.
The servers were working feverishly to do everything and make everyone’s experience great… Honestly they are too popular and don’t have the room to seat everyone… Our busy boy was a also our server and kept a smile on his face even though he was asked take several pictures for a group in the middle of the madness. The girl that did our Mac Nut Latte also made our latte and cleaned up a table for us to sit at… She even designed a heart on the top of our latte. Another lady came by and asked how we were doing and if we need a box for take out… The place was constantly busy as we ate and as we left…
If they stay this way, pack some patience with you… The experience is worth the wait! Grind On! Pau!!!

the food is great, the service is fast, and the place is nice and clean. only thing that’s hard is the parking, but if your timing is right you can get a space in the small lot. I’d suggest carpooling if possible.
I’ve been here a couple of times and the omelettes are amazing! I got mine with the parmesan toast and it comes with a small salad too. the coffee and tea lattes are wonderful.
service is very good. you order at the counter from the laminated menus available at the front door, pay and sit down with a number on your table. the food comes relatively quickly and the staff is always very friendly and patient.
if you’re ono for a good breakfast in town, I highly recommend Egghead Café. I’ll definitely be back for more.

I had a chance to visit Egghead Café on a weekday since I was off from work, helping a visiting friend with errands. I’ve heard that it’s packed on weekends & they have a small lot with about 10 designated spots so the first opportunity I had on a weekday, I took it.
Upon entry, you pick up a food menu & go to the counter to place your order, given a number & find seating. Since I went on a weekday, there was plentiful seating & we sat at the counter in front of the window.
I ordered a large chai tea latte & crab Benedict & my friend ordered the traditional eggs Benedict with a single s’more pancake to share for dessert.
The egg Benedicts were good but the bread that was used wasn’t as crispy as I’m accustomed to, so it became soggy under the Hollandaise sauce. The flavors were good though & Benedicts were accompanied by a small green salad & your choice of rice, wheat bread or garlic Parmesan bread.
The star of our meal was the s’more pancake. The pancake was fluffy & the s’more sauce was amazing!
The have some outdoor seating so you can bring your furry friend to brunch.
Service is quick & friendly.

Cute little restaurant where you order first at the cashier and then sit to eat. If you come here with a buddy, I suggest one of you save your seats and the other place your order since the space can fill up quickly.
Classic Benedict with fries: the 2 eggs were poached to perfection and oh man that hollandaise sauce can holla at me anytime because it was absolutely perfect. The fries with some ketchup and pepper was delish and was the perfect thing to mop up all the juicy juices.
As a sweet addition, we ordered the S’more pancakes. Yup, its pretty much diabetes on a plate but to die for. When we cut into the pancakes every inch of surface area was covered in gooey tantalizing sauce.
Parking is small and cramped, get here early or park down the street and enjoy the walk.

I love breakfast food any time of the day! When my friend suggested I check out this hipster spot, I book marked it. So far I’ve been here about three times, and I still love it! Every time I’ve been here has been after a Sunday workout with my swolemates around noon. This place is small and parking can be challenging. I highly suggest to carpool.
When you walk in, you grab a menu near the door, look for the clipboards. Order and tip at the counter. Coffee will be made behind the counter on the left and that’s where you also pick it up. Pay attention or it might get snaked. Place is usually packed when we get there and have to wait for a table, but the turn over isn’t too bad. We usually get our table before the food comes out. You’re given a number, and they bring your food to your table and also clear the table when you’re done.
There’s a pretty good menu selection. I have only stuck to the omelettes, and they are good! I’ve tried bites of my friend’s pancakes and they’re also very good if you’re into pancakes. At first glance, to me they looked dense and dry, but they’re really not! Coffee is good too! My favorite so far has been the honey latte (plus fifty cents for almond milk).
Whenever someone ask «Egghead?» my eyes will light up «yes please!»

Our first time here last week with my son and its in the old location of I love country café used to be. Love what they have done to the place, it’s nice and inviting!
Okay, so here’s the Spill of this restaurant. As you enter the menus are on right hand side. You need to look at what you wanna order, then go to the cashier and place your order and pay for it. They will give you a number and if you are lucky and theirs open table and chairs you go and seat yourself wherever!
There are some long tables available if there are seats open on that table and people are sitting on it. Just ask politely if the seats that are open are available and if it is you lucked out. Hooray for you!!! Lol

They clean up as fast as they can when someone leaves so you are bound to get some open seating just have to be patient!
Parking can be tight but, at least they have a parking lot!

They should seriously place some signs up so people especially first timer as myself know what to do upon entering! When you enter you automatically think you have to put your name down and wait to be called… No they kinda leave you clueless
The WAIT time –okay I get that they are super busy on the weekends, totally get it but, if your gonna make us wait at least 40minutes for our food it better be worth the wait. Although my son enjoyed his pancakes he still left a little hungry not, sure if it’s because we had to wait so long or it was just soooo little serving
My crab Benedict was delicious but, come on 4 pieces of green leaves for my side salad! Seriously what a joke. That would be an embarrassment to serve me my plate especially if your gonna spend $ 10-​$ 15 a plate… SMH
Okay done gripping. It was a one time experience and not so sure if I’ll return to eat there maybe come in too grab their coffee to go!

Oh Egghead… How I love thee. Egghead is my newest brunch obsession! Despite how many popular brunch spots, for me, it is hard find one that I love so much that I could consider being a loyal customer. Egghead is a café that hits all the right notes. The inside has plenty of seating for a small restaurant, and there is even outdoor seating, which is where I sat. The décor is cute and trendy as well.
My dining partner and I ordered two dishes, the S’mores pancake and the special which was a park bowl with a fried egg over rice. Both of these were extremely tasty! The s’mores pancake sounds like it would be something found in a Candyland game, so sweet that your teeth would dissolve on contact. This was not the case. Though very sweet, I didn’t find it sickening. The pork bowl had deliciously fatty pieces of porky goodness and popping that egg yolk and smearing it over my rice is what dreams are made of. The items on the menu were affordable and creative. I can’t wait to go back and try the omelettes!

I came here before the lunch rush. Although they had technical difficulties with power outage we had to wait to order.
Parking: row of parking reserved. First come first serve
Atmosphere: your typical hipster café. Pretty chill. Have indoor and outdoor seating. Big menu boards with a list of beverages. You pretty much find a seat and walk to the register to order. They give you a number and just wait for your food.
Customer service: staff had great outgoing personalities.
Food: I ordered the strawberry shortcake pancakes (stack) very fulfilling, warm, fluffy, and moist. Since they had a power outage we had to wait almost an hour especially for their grill took some time to warm up.
Other than that this place is great place to eat for breakfast and would definitely come back to order more of there Benedict or omelette.

Really like this breakfast café in Kaka’ako. Sleek, modern, and industrial. You order at the counter, and the food is delivered to your table. Friendly staff.
Had the Ube Pancakes with a side of bacon. The portion was massive (good for two to share.) The quality was very high. There was ube in the batter itself, as well as in the garnish. It was just a little too rich and sweet for me.
Had to change my seating as the morning sun came in through the window. Free Wi-​Fi. Nice website. A little pricy for me, but the portions are large and the quality is good.

Cute little café located in kakaako. Came here on a weekend, early enough to get seating. Yes, you choose your seating. When you first walk in at egghead café, you go straight to the counter to order your meal. There is a menu on the wall as well as some clipboards with paper menus if you are standing in line. It is not the biggest café so if you spot an open table have someone in your party save it while you order!
For brunch I got the California benedict. You can choose your side (Parmesan toast, fries, or salad. I think there is more) The hollandaise sauce for the Benedict was so buttery and savory! I probably could have had that served on toast lol. The bacon was cook perfectly, not too chewy which is always difficult to eat. To fuel my coffee addiction I tried their iced mocha. It was served on a mason glass jar.
You will get a number at the counter when you order your food and someone will bring it to your table. However, if you order any other drinks besides water you have to pick it up at the counter next to the cashier. Good thing we sat inside or else I wouldn’t be able to get my coffee.
There are only a few stalls reserved for eggheads during the week, but on weekends feel free to park in other stalls designated to the other stores!
And yes there is a private bathroom located inside!

Let me start with the awesomeness of this new restaurant. The interior is cute, with some small tables, a couple big (for people to share), a few seats on a window bar, and three tables outside. The workers are friendly and cheerful even while constantly on the go (must give kudos to the barista and the food server — they were both really nice and helpful). The food was so very delectable.
It was on a mid-​Sunday morning that I arrived here and found parking right away!!! Yay!!! There were people milling around outside holding numbers so I knew the wait would be longer than I had hoped. Once inside, I saw all the tables were filled with about half of the people with food and half still waiting. Waiting in line to order was no problem, it gave us more time to decide on what we were going to try. It was decided — buttermilk pancakes, 2 eggs/​bacon/​waffle cut fries/​parmesan toast, and the mexican benedict. For drinks we ordered an iced coffee and iced vanilla latte. Before ordering, the cashier did tell us that it would be at least 20 minutes before our food would be ready — and we were fine with that because it gave us time to find a table.
Our coffees were ready within 10 minutes and my vanilla latte was just what I needed to push through the last fogginess of waking up. We got lucky and within the next five minutes, two guests left and we snagged seats on the window bar. As we waited for our food, we noticed that a few people were getting upset at the wait. I think maybe on the weekends when it is busier they might want to think about being more like a restaurant (having a host seat people). Our food came out within 30 minutes, so we weren’t upset at all.
The first bite of my mexican benedict was very yummo!!! Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors came together like a symphony in my mouth. I could taste the crème fraîche, chorizo, mozzarella and verde hollandaise. No flavor over powered the other, the poached egg was runny but not uncooked — YUM. It was so very wonderful that I used the parmesan garlic toast to make sure to mop up every last bit of food on my plate. The pancakes were fluffy and light — so good!!! Waffle cut fries are my favorite — but I was held down to eating only a few. LOL.

This is a runner up for best breakfast on the island for me! I visited egghead about a month ago after church on a Sunday, about half an hour Before closing. Placed my order at the counter and found my own seat. I was surprised that so close to closing there were at least 4 other tables still occupied.
My hubby and I decided on the chorizo eggs Benedict and tiramisu pancakes. The chorizo Benedict was so good, creamy, a bit of a kick from the chorizo and I just kept wanting to eat more. It’s served with salad cause «everyone needs their veggies». The pancakes were pretty good, especially the top one, and it was more the powder (cocoa/​coffee) that gave it the tiramisu flavor than the two sauces. Once I got to the pancakes beneath the top though, they were flavorless and dry. They were plain pancakes and not enough sauce for all three. So I asked for more (which they were happy to being me).
Next time I come I would like to try another chorizo dish and maybe a different pancake set. Maybe the ube haupia?

Oh Egghead, I so would have given you that last star if you only offered refills on your highly priced $ 3.50 coffee. C’est la vie! Prior to coming here, I read all the reviews and noted the that slow service was a common complaint. We arrived here on a late Saturday morning around 11ish. From order time to receiving our food, it took approximately 25 minutes. That’s not too bad. It would have been nice to sip my coffee during that wait time and not worry about drinking it all before my meal came out, but anyways, on to the food.
I absolutely loved that they serve the eggs Benedict on a thick cut french loaf. It’s perfect for sopping up the yolk and Hollandaise (although not enough Hollandaise.) The eggs were perfectly poached. The crab cake was okay, some what of a let down because there wasn’t enough crab in the cake; especially since they cost a whopping $ 15! (It might be nice if they offered a half order for those of us with smaller appetites or smaller pocketbooks!) I also ordered a matcha chocolate chip scone to nosh on prior to my main meal and although very rich with chocolate, I wouldn’t have guessed there was matcha to flavor it except for the fact that it was green. The ube pancakes weren’t ube flavored pancakes, but buttermilk pancakes with chunks of purple sweet potato inside. They were drizzled in a coconut flavored syrup, but disappointingly, the pancakes were cold. Boo.
It’s wonderful that you can choose from sweet potato fries, waffle fries, or greens as your side. The greens are dressed lightly with lilikoi flavored dressing. The sweet potato fries are cut thin and are crispy. The coffee was really good, bold and smokey. It’s too bad I didn’t feel like shelling out another $ 3.50 for another cup. Ok, ok my cheap butt will stop complaining about the lack of coffee refills.
Niceties included a place to grab water on your own and a small table with condiments. Wi fi is available and there are a couple of tables outside. The parking lot is super small and they have designated stalls labeled «Egghead» and you can park in the «Merry Maid» stalls as well. No tacky large key chain attached to a key is needed for the bathrooms and they are located right in the restaurant. All in all, I really enjoyed brunch here and will be back. Hopefully they change their minds on offering coffee refills before I return!

I read the reviews but wanted to try anyways. Maybe things improved.
Got here about 10:30am on a weekday after a doctor’s appointment at Queen’s. It was easy to get to but parking was getting a little tight. There were no tables left to sit at. We decided to choose the counter by the window in front of the register.
I knew what I wanted and went up to the register to order as another customer got done ordering. The wait person walked away to talk to another girl. I waited a little while before I got recognized. Then I was asked if I was ready to order.

Came in a good size cup. This was a very light, milky, not too sweet. Was this whipped? Maybe whipped too much. It was okay.

Not bad. Wished there were a little more blueberries to get one in every bite.

I really don’t like it when options are asked about and you are not told there is a charge with that. I would have taken the fried rice with the price stated but puts a bad taste in my mouth when it’s not stated. The benedict was a good size. Quite large actually. Glad mom was here to share this with along with the green salad. Although there was crab in there it was light and not chunky. You could taste it but it wasn’t a good crab. If I’m paying that kind of price for this size then let’s have some chunkiness and be able to taste the featured meat.
As I was ordering I was asked if I wanted the scone to be heated. That was nice. I did. It took awhile for the lattes to be brought out to us as I watched 2 staffers talking while standing doing nothing. They were actually brought out right before the main course came out. When the main course was brought out, I asked about the scone. Said it was coming and had not forgotten about it. I guess timing in this place has no meaning. Is it just me? It would have been nice to get the lattes much earlier than the main course. And, nice to have the scone about the same time as the lattes too. There is lots of room for improvement here.

Eggheads Café, what an original name for breakfast joint! I did some research on «eggheads» in Taiwanese and I think it translates to nerd. Nerd Café it is. I love their modern decorations. There’s a cute doggy bowl outside. I didn’t see any four legged animal nearby.
I read some Unilocal reviews and I expected this place to be full service. But when I got there, the friendly lady told me to order first and they’ll bring the food out to me. She showed me the menu on a clipboard. I wasn’t fully hungry so I chose porky bowl. I’m guessing it’s Taiwanese hardy breakfast. It reminded me of loco moco. It’s a big bowl of rice covered with egg over medium, pickled vegetables (cucumber & carrot), and juicy, roasted, brown pork. The pork taste like kau yuk. It was $ 8 something.
I do want to return again to try their other breakfast entrees and sandwiches.

Friendly and fast service. As you enter, located to the right are the menus (there’s also some by the cash register). I went on a Wednesday around 11am, there was a short line, but it moved quickly. After we ordered and got seated, a lady came by to set up the napkins and utensils. They also have a water dispenser if you opt out of purchasing a drink. The décor has a rustic/​industrial feel, wooden table tops with metal stands. It also has pops of black and plants around some of the tables.
The food came out promptly, about 5 – 10 minutes for a group of three. My meal was the Avocado Sandwich with a salad (you can choose between salad, waffle fries, sweet potato fries, and I believe there was another choice) for $ 9.25. The bread on the bottom was cheese-​y and very delicious. The avocado was mixed with sweet corn and surprisingly went really well together. The eggs was pretty good too.
I really enjoyed this sandwich, it felt light (and somewhat healthy) and I was full after eating the entire thing. Yumm! By the time we finished our lunch around 12 pm all of the indoor tables were full. But there was still open tables on the outside. Overall I really enjoyed this restaurant, the food is very tasty and the service was great.

My first time to egghead. When you walk in you get a clipboard with the menu on it and wait in line to put in your order. After you order at the 1 register they have, they give you a number and you find a seat. I thought it was strange that they have a «tip guide» on the bottom of the receipt. I ended up tipping bc the server brings your food to you, but if you order a drink, you have to pick it up at the counter. Also, if you need any condiments or water or a take out container you have to go up and ask for it yourself. After that I thought I shouldn’t have tipped. But it’s ok. I’ll know next time.
The food was great! I had a shrimp bacon omlette and it had crispy bacon, but not very many pieces of the shrimp. My friend had the California Benedict and she liked it. The eggs were cooked perfectly. We both got the mixed greens and it was good. The dressing was light.
Overall, good place to eat. A little pricey but food tastes good.

Egghead Café is adorable; I had seen many photos of the breakfast spot when it first opened, but I waited about a month after its launch before actually going for breakfast with a friend.
The parking lot outside Egghead is small, but if you go early, you won’t have a problem grabbing a spot. My friend and I were both able to get parking inside the tiny lot outside the restaurant, but street parking is also available.
On an early Wednesday morning, Egghead provided the perfect safe haven to enjoy delicious breakfast fare and wonderful conversation. The workers were really friendly, helpful and great at making recommendations for first-​timers like us. Plus, since it was early and uncrowded, my friend and I had our prime choice of seating and didn’t feel rushed during our time at the café.
I loved the cute décor and vibe of the eatery. Egghead isn’t super big, but you also don’t feel claustrophobic while you’re there. I noticed the menu prices went up a bit since the eatery first opened, but I felt like I got what I paid for the and food was delicious.
I will definitely be back; best to go early in the morning during the week when hardly anyone’s there. Here’s what my friend and I got:
«Classic Benedict»: My friend prefers savory items over sweet items when it comes to breakfast, so she got this classic eggs benedict. It came with sliced ham, two poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. All benedicts come with a mini mixed greens salad – which is the eatery’s attempt to put something green/​healthy on the breakfast plates – but I prefer savory roasted potatoes or hashed browns if I’m getting eggs benedicts. My friend enjoyed the taste of the fresh eggs, which were served on French bread and topped with rich hollandaise sauce. I had a bite of her entrée and it was definitely good. If I wanted to try one of their eggs benedicts, I would probably go for the «Crab Meat Benedict» or one of the other options that are fancier. But, my friend’s breakfast choice was a classic and great if you want something more traditional.
«S’mores Pancakes»: Pancakes are my go-​to when it comes to sweet breakfast items; I normally go for something sweet if I’m going out for breakfast. This short stack of three pancakes come with ganache, marshmallow and graham crackers. Now, I was a bit wary because I don’t like a lot of marshmallow (in hot chocolate, with dessert, with anything); I like s’mores because of the rich chocolate flavor and graham crackers that usually accompany it. But, the girl at the counter highly recommended these pancakes (along with the «Tiramisu» flavor, which I want to get next time), so I went with my gut. I wasn’t disappointed. The pancakes were light, fluffy and soft, and they weren’t huge. I definitely got what I paid for, since the entrée was $ 11.50 but it came with three pancakes. Much to my delight, the marshmallow flavor wasn’t overwhelming. There was quite a bit of it, but it didn’t overpower the rest of the flavors (ganache and graham crackers). These pancakes were definitely sweet, so if you don’t have a huge sweet tooth, I wouldn’t recommend these. But, being that I have a high tolerance for sweets, these were right up my alley. I would gladly order them again; though I would have preferred more chocolate, these pancakes sported a great chocolate consistency and satisfied my craving for something sweet.
«Mocha»: This is my go-​to when it comes to ordering coffee. You can’t go wrong with a basic mocha, especially when soy or almond milk is available (which, thank goodness, it was at Egghead). I loved the rich, chocolaty flavor of this drink (I ordered it hot, since it was a cooler morning) and liked how they even did latte art (I was told before it’s too hard to do latte art with soy milk, but the staff at Egghead made it happen).
«Tiramisu»: The next time I visit Egghead, I’m getting these pancakes. They feature mascarpone cream, cocoa powder and shaved chocolate and espresso sauce. I don’t order tiramisu too often as a dessert, simply because I don’t love custardy textures and desserts. But, being that all the components of a traditional tiramisu are in pancake form, I’m sure I would love this version.

Finally had a free morning to check out this place. Located on queen street a few doors down from Fresh café. Came at 1030am on a Saturday by myself. Circled the block once and luckily found parking in the front.
Tip: If youre coming with 2 or more people, as soon as you enter 1 person gotta sit somewhere and save the table and the other people gotta stand in line to order the food. Once you order they will give you a number and bring the food to your table.
I ordered a classic eggs benedict ($ 9.25) poached egg, Canadian bacon over toasted sour dough bread with hollandaise sauce. This was one of the better Eggs Benedicts that I’ve had, the Canadian bacon they use is really tender and tasty. It came with a side of mixed greens and the salad was really good the dressing they use is Ono. 4 stars
–Macadamia Nut latte– Came in a large Mug with cute artwork on it and the taste was fabulous! The latte was Bomb 5 stars!
I would come here again just for the Latte! Overall, I think it’s a pretty solid breakfast place but i wouldn’t recommend this place if you have a large party because it’s small. Parking can be challenging. It’s also Loud! Voices are really amplified so don’t expect to be reading a book enjoying a latte. Also they are still a bit unorganized and calling out your name carrying the food to the tables. They don’t have a wait list so it’s find a table and grab it! They have about 34 seats total (7 tables and 2 counters) And free wifi is cool!
Not bad at all I’ll come back and try their pancakes next!

Located where I Love Country Café used to be in Queen St. He place has ten tables with two of them being 6 tops for big parties.
The menu is mostly breakfast items consisting of omelettes, pancake, cereals and Acai bowl dishes. But they also have a variety of sandwiches, salads and deserts.
We came in at 2:30 pm and there was only one other table there. We were greeted right away by the waiter and cashier. We ordered and paid at the front then they brought the food to our table.
We had the:
Chorizo Omellete– You get a choice of salad, sweet potato fries or pancake fries. We chose the salad with the dressing on the side. The egg itself was good, moist and cooked to perfection. The chorizo tasted dry and rubbery. The salsa wasn’t fresh and had a metallic taste. The salad was very fresh.
The Turkey Havarti– Turkey with caramelized onions, cranberry sauce and Havarti cheese. We chose the sweet potato fries for the side option. The bread was very good. Could have used a bit more turkey and the cranberry sauce came from a can. The caramelized onions added a good sweet onion flavor to the sandwich.
The food came out within 6 – 7 minutes from ordering. The service was friendly. Lots of parking in front.

This past Sunday I met up with some Yeeps for Valentine’s breakfast… and Egghead Café was the place of choice.
Egghead Café is located in the Ward/​Kakaako area… just a few blocks down (going west) from the American Savings Bank on Ward Ave.
I came here to eat breakfast at 8 AM, and I felt very fortunate that when I came down here… there were two open parking spaces in the private parking lot.
As we walked into the restaurant, I could see that there was a very long line to order your food. Upon waiting approximately 15 minutes or so, we finally go to the ordering counter, & we proceeded to order our breakfast.
We ordered the following items —
1. Buttermilk Pancakes with a side order of scrambled eggs
2. Crab Omelette with greens
3. Ube Pancakes
4. Coffee
I basically had the buttermilk pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs, & coffee, and the gf ate the Crab Omelette with greens. She also wanted to try the Ube Pancakes.
What can I say about the pancakes? Not bad at all… it was fluffy, but a tad bit dry. Butter came with the pancakes on the side (which I liked), and you had to get your own condiments (like pancake syrup) from the designated condiment table. The coffee was good, but it was a little expensive at $ 3.25 per cup, and they did not offer any free refills. For me, that is a big «NO NO!», and is a big deterrent from me ever coming back here to eat again.
You can get a coffee refill for a $ 1.00, but when I was dining with my friends here that Sunday, I saw one of the waitresses try to over charge my friend by telling him that a coffee refill was $ 2.00. My friend tactfully reminded her that there was a sign posted, and it clearly stated that the coffee refills are $ 1.00. Geeez! You’re already charging $ 3.25 for a cup of coffee, and you want to over charge someone for an additional $ 2.00 for a refill? Come on man! Get with the program!!!
The gf had the Crab Omelette… and she gave me a little taste of it. I thought it was pretty good, and I could see a lot of crab meat loaded inside the omelette.
As for the Ube pancake, I took a small piece just to taste… and to me, it was more like a coconut pancake. The Japanese potato chunks was mixed within the pancakes, and it was topped with haupia (coconut) syrup. Upon looking at the Ube pancakes, we did notice that they did not layer the coconut syrup. They only stacked the Ube pancakes then poured the coconut syrup on top, leaving the other pancake layers tasteless from syrup. The gf had to go up to the counter ask for more haupia syrup.
Overall Egghead Café was just okay… I think they were a bit pricey for what you got, and the food was just average tasting at best. There are a lot of other breakfast places that serve better breakfast food like this, with a better value than Egghead Café.

Egghead Café is a cute breakfast and lunch restaurant serving eggs, pancakes, sandwiches, and sides. If you stop by on a busy weekend morning be prepared for the long waits. First, the wait line to order was slow, with 5 or so tables ahead of us, we waited 15 – 20 minutes just to get to the cashier to order and pay. Then if you didn’t grab a table on the way in you’ll need to wait to one clears. There is a mis-​mash of seating: a couple of communal tables, mostly 2-​tops, and a few bar seats. From time of order, 2 eggs benedicts took another 30 minutes or so to arrive.
So was the wait worth it? The Crab Benedict was very crabby, like how some fish is very fishy. It had a strong smell and flavor, like frozen crab that’s been heated, I wouldn’t get this one again. The Mexican Benedict featured a patty that was made with chorizo, sour cream, and a verde hollandaise. I liked the Mexican Benedict better, it was a more unique benedict and the flavors worked well with each other. I also liked the salad dressing on the mixed greens that come with the benedicts, it has a tangy fruit base.
Egghead Café’s prices and slow service will turn some folks off, but I would be willing to try them again when they’re not so busy.

A) Well sort of, more like a Eggbod. Until he fell and eventually became a Crackhead.

Now that I have answered the important questions that everyone has been wanting to ask, on to the review. lol!
Egghead is basically a self serve Café, grab your menu from the counter, self seating and order at the counter. A number is given to you after ordering to be displayed on your table. The waitresses brings your dishes over when it ready. I’ve read a lot of reviews about long food waiting times, but this morning with our party of three there wasn’t a problem and this food came out in a timely manner. What I did notice was that the waitresses were confused at times with which table ordered certain plates coming out of the kitchen, I’m sure eventually they’ll workout a better system. The manager I assume did help with the service and checked on us, very friendly and professional.
Ordered:
Crab Omelette with Hollandaise Sauce. I found a nice amount of crab in the Omelette, I like a Hollandaise with a slight twang, but it was lacking in their sauce. Overall it was a very filling and good Omelette.
Strawberry ShortCake Pancakes. Three fluffy pancakes topped with Strawberry syrup and Whipped cream on the sides. This dish is a Winner! Not overly sweet and a great dish to share.
Crab Benedict. This was a dish that I was going to order, but my brekkie friend had this and said it was pretty good. Also agreed with me about the Hollandaise sauce. All I could do is watch #Yokeporn, oh ya baby!
Egghead is located Kakaako, about a block Ewa from Ward Ave on Queen St, Ewa bound it’s on your left. Parking is eight assigned stalls with the Egghead name.

Thank goodness we are able to walk here because that parking lot is not very conducive to patrons at all as it is shared with other businesses.
It was a little confusing as to the sequence of ordering and seating but I recommend getting seated first because its first come first serve. You kinda have to stand close to those who are close to leaving to grab the open seats quick. Ordering was quick but the food came out one by one… better if you do family style to try each item. We ordered the California Benedict which was delicious! The kids ordered 3 pancakes with a side of bacon and hubby had the chorizo omelet. My Benedict was the best, others were just OK.
I would like to try the pork belly Bao next time but didn’t feel like something that oily for breakfast. Will be back once the hype settles a bit.

I met up with some Yeeps for Valentine’s Day breakfast. The food was terrible. They raised the prices on everything, everything has an upcharge, no free coffee refills, and they no longer give 10% off when you check in on Unilocal.I don’t mind paying a little more for quality food. This place seems to care more about the money than the food that they’re putting out.
It was packed today around 8am. When we got there, luckily we found a table. We were just sitting there because we didn’t know that there wasn’t table service. We saw people standing in line and ordering their food from the cashier, so that’s what we did. There’s a huge chalkboard by the cashier listing the entrees and prices. I noticed the Crab Meat Benedict was no longer $ 13.50 and is now $ 15.95. I told her that instead of the salad that it came with, I wanted Sweet Potato Fries. It was going to be $ 2 more, which was fine. I spent $ 37 on breakfast for two and that’s before tip. I also got the Papaya Smoothie for me. My husband wanted the Classic Pancakes and a large Hot Honey Latte.
The food finally comes out and his pancakes are burnt. It didn’t come with butter. He had to chase the server down to get it. They don’t have condiments on the tables. They have a little table set up with condiments, so it’s a pain. Every time, someone needed something, they would have to get up and go to the table.
My Crab Meat Benedict was trash. There was hardly any crab meat in there. My two poached eggs were overcooked. Instead of English Muffins, they use Baguettes as the bread. Needless to say the bread was hard.
Someone on our table ordered the Ube Pancakes. The pancakes were good but they were stingy on the haupia syrup. Instead of putting the syrup on layer by layer, they just put it on the top layer, which left the pancakes on the inside dry.
My friends wanted coffee refills and were told that it would be $ 1.04 more per cup. The initial price of the coffee was over $ 3 per cup.
There are a plethora of breakfast joints around town that I love. This was not one of them. I will be frequenting other breakfast places instead.

Ok. Now, secondly smile, be an egghead. I am now an official egghead. How did I become one? I ate at this place and I had eggs here of course. So let me give you the egg-​act details about what I thought about this place and egg-​plain. They take credit cards and have a bathroom (two important details for me when I eat out).
This place is located in Kakaako on Queen Street. If you’re going Ewa, then it’s on the left side. They have their own parking lot and on the weekends you can use the other businesses’ parking stalls. We came on a Sunday and it wasn’t too crazy. First you go to the counter to order, they give you a number and then you seat yourself. They (similar to Nordstrom Café) bring you your food when it’s ready. There are tables inside and outside and community tables.
Ok, so the menu. They have your typical breakfast here: omelettes, pancakes, Benedicts, sandwiches, salads, acai bowls and smoothies, coffee drinks. We chose to try a pancake and an omelette, sweet and savory. Entrees range from $ 8.50 to $ 15.95 so pretty standard breakfast pieces.
We got the crab omelette which comes with Parmesan garlic toast, rice or mixed greens. We chose mixed greens which had a nice light house dressing. The crab omelette had real lumps of crab in it and the omelette was fluffy and not greasy. It had a good amount of filling in it. There was a right amount of Hollandaise sauce on top. It was worth $ 15.95 IMO (in my opinion).
The pancakes all sounded like they would be very sweet and we didn’t want something overly sweet. We ended up choosing the Macadamia nut pancake ($ 11.95) with macadamia nut ganache and haupia sauce. You get three pancakes and the sauce ratio was on point, at least for me. The pancakes were very fluffy and luckily the sauce wasn’t too sweet. I enjoyed it, not like Scratch milk and cereal pancakes but still very good.
I’m an eggs girl for breakfast so it was a lot of pancake for me so I suggest if you go with someone or in a group, have someone get an egg dish and someone get a pancake dish to share. Or you both could get an egg entrée and get pancakes to share if you’re feeling hangry. Next time we will be more daring and try the tiramisu or ube pancakes.
I also got an iced vanilla latte which was very sweet and way more vanilla than coffee. I thought it was good but just depends how you like your coffee drinks.
A lot people warned me about the service but I thought they had better service than I egg-​pected. The servers were friendly and checked on us and they also went to tables who were waiting for their food and gave them updates.
I’m egg-​cited to come back to try more things and will check in to get my egg-​cellent discount.

Quality takes time… my fiancé and I stumbled upon this awesome little breakfast bar when we had to wait to get the glass fixed in my car.
We went there because it was an easy walk (almost right across the street), although it was an accident the first time, we’ll definitely be back! I saw a couple of reviews talking about the wait time, etc so I’d like to start by addressing that, because I chatted with Cary (one of the owners about it).
This is a brand new restaurant, owned by a very nice couple and like all new establishments, finding reliable and consistent staff is a problem in the beginning. If even one staff member calls in sick, it’s very hard for a small place like this to absorb it not have added stress or wait times during the service.
So please, go here with a bit of patience and understanding in mind while they get their feet under them.
I can assure you, it’s worth the wait! The food and beverage is excellent! My fiancé had an omelet with the Honey Latte and I had the Acai Bowl with a Chai Latte. Both were excellent! The price is good, the food great, the service is friendly and the options are plentiful. Do yourself a favor and go check this place out, you’ll be happy you did!
Parking is tight and service may be a little slow if they’re under staffed the day you visit. Know this going in and you’ll be fine.

Here I go again, another breakfast joint. I’ve said it before it’s the most important meal of the day.
The place is on Queen street, look for the white, nicer looking building on the block. The staff is very nice. The ambiance is country style and cute. I ordered the classic eggs Benedict $ 9.25 a hot chocolate $ 3.25 and the popular honey latte $ 3.75 for dine in and to go: the mexican eggs benedict $ 10.25 with chorizo sausage, mozzarella, cream fraise and verde hollandaise.
Well I got the traditional eggs Benedict and drinks to go and the Mexican was never rang up. The traditional Benedict is not anything to rave about. Thin slice of ham and the hollandaise is on the bland side. I am intrigued with the other Benedicts so I will be back to try them.

I wanted to go to my favorite pancake house, but my bf wanted to try something new so we ended up here due to the great reviews.
First of all, parking is very limited. On the weekend, you can use the stalls marked for merry maids, orthopedic and vape (the sign for this is inside the restaurant which is not very helpful after stressing out finding parking). You also get a 10% Unilocal discount for checking in.
This is a «self service» restaurant according to the sign. Similar to Koa Pancake House, you order at the counter and have a seat, someone will bring your food over.
There is indoor dining that is very limited. There were only a few tables inside. The space can be utilized much much better to accommodate more tables. There are also three tables outside. Don’t sit by the table closest to the door because it slams shut very loud and gets super annoying after a few times.
This place needs to stick by it’s name and just make egg dishes. My bf tried the porky bowl instead of his first choice of eggs Benedict. He is going through pork belly bowl withdrawals since Your Kitchen has been closed for a while now. The pork belly was very dry and the portion for the bowl was very small.
The pancake was also very dry. It was served with hard frozen butter that did not melt. The syrup wasn’t that great either.
I ordered the Popeye omelet with cheddar cheese instead of Swiss and it was very delicious. It comes with either toast, rice or salad. There was a perfect amount of spinach, mushrooms and onions inside. It’s also cooked with a ton of butter. I ordered the salad as a side and it was very tasty.
I also ordered the caramel latte. It came with a cute design. It was good after I added sugar.
Service is extremely slow. Long wait in line despite only two people in front of me. My omelet took 25 minutes to make. By the time the omelet arrived, my bf had already eaten his pork bowl and I was done with the pancake.
The omelet was the only good thing about this place, but with the super long wait and limited parking, I don’t think I will be back.

This place is off the beaten path but quite a gem!
We ordered the shrimp and bacon omelette and the Mexican eggs Benedict. I ordered the omelette, which was amazing; healthy portions of both shrimp and bacon! The Mexican Benedict did leave something to be desired. My husband saw a photo of the dish on Unilocal but it looked very different in reality. After asking, we learned that a change in vendor meant the chorizo came in patty form (and not very flavourful) instead of loose or crumbled. Despite the meat, the eggs were poached perfectly and the hollandaise was delish!
We did receive a free vanilla latte in exchange! The barista said, «I can make you whatever you want. I can’t fix sausage but I can do this!» Egghead makes their own fresh, vanilla bean syrup and the final product is amazing. I’ve never had any coffee, from a big chain to a local café, that does that!

SO bummed when I visited Egghead exactly one week after my first wonderful review to find that their seating/​ordering system has changed and their service has totally bombed!
Ok so, now instead of walking in, putting your name on a list, waiting for a table like any other brunch venue, you are prompted to stand in a long line, order your food, and hope you get a seat before your food is made! Weird. I also hate when people who walk in AFTER you nab a seat that just opened up and you miss it because you don’t want to lose your spot in the line you’re standing in to order. UGH, that’s the worst… and totally unfair! Annnd none of the workers stops them from doing so either. Boo.
Anyway, I asked one of the girls (there were literally like 4 girls standing around just running food and busing tables and I felt this was way too many for a small café, customer service would be better hmph) what happens if there’s no seats, do they keep taking orders? She simply said they don’t stop taking orders and shrugged her shoulders. As it got closer to my turn to order, I saw her huddle with 2 others near the counter and, to which a young, local girl, all sassy said «well that’s THEY’RE problem» [if we don’t get a seat]. WHOA, pump your brakes sister, first of all — that’s bad customer service, second, why would you even say such thing in earshot of customers? Really put a bad taste in my mouth before I even ordered! Ugh, gross!
Whatevs. I ordered, expressed my concern to the male cashier about the rude workers I overheard and said I wasn’t a fan of their new seating system. He apologized, but nothing was done about the rudeness of the staff. And just then, to my luck, a table opened up just as we finished ordering. Yes!
This time I only ordere:
Honey Latte — see prior review, YUM, just as good as last time, although a little sweet
Side order of bacon — 3 strips for about $ 4 I believe — VERY oily and fatty and «wiggly», overall disappointed, but eh, it’s bacon.
Single UBE pancake — supposed to be $ 5, got charged $ 10.25 or so I think…
[SO — my order was taken wrong. No wonder I was charged so much. Maybe the cashier was flustered about my «complaint» but I was brought out a 3-​stack of Ube Pancakes instead of a single.]
Ube Pancakes — Not the purple pancakes you’d expect like other breakfast places are known for — just plain panckaes with ube chunks. The batter was sticky and raw around the sweet potatoes, it totally wasn’t cooked all the way through but I said nothing and ate around it. I didn’t want to be «that» girl. LOL! The taste is very mediocre; it’s like plain boxed pancake with pieces of okinawan sweet potato in it. Wouldn’t order it again, not a fan.
Anyway, because there are people standing around waiting for tables after they ordered and the 4 girls busing tables kept giving us the eye as well, I felt VERY rushed eating here a second time. I was pretty disappointed with this second visit and I hope there are improvements made! I’d be willing to come back to see if they can get that 4 or even 5 star status back.

Color me impressed. I stopped in at the Egghead Café with my eating buddy a little after noon on a weekday. The menus are stationed by the door and written on the wall as well. We were told once we ordered at the counter, we could have a seat and the food would be brought to us.
I ordered the s’mores pancakes and she got the crab omelette. We also ordered some iced coffee and then we grabbed a table. I know a lot of previous reviews have complained and stated that the food takes really long to come out. Although I wasn’t timing it, the food came out really quick. I felt like maybe our food reached us in about 10 – 12 minutes. We got our drinks in probably less than 5. At the time of our visit, the place was at about 70% capacity, so obviously theres been a big improvement.
The s’mores pancakes were ridiculously good. There was the right amount of sweet in the dish. Maybe a little less marshmallow crème and a little more toasted marshmallow would have been perfect. I loved the texture of the pancakes. They were soft and pillowy and not doughy unlike some other breakfast places.
The crab omelette was incredible. The eggs were impossibly light. I don’t know what they did to make them so airy. The crab definitely had a presence in the dish without dominating the omelette. It was served with fried rice that had an incredible flavor. And one can always appreciate fried rice that isn’t too oily. I would not have changed a single thing about this dish.
I think the way to go here is to share your dishes. One person should order something savory, and the other something sweet. I definitely would not have been able to finish the pancakes if i tried to attack it alone. Life, like eating, is always about finding that balance. And I think I found the trick to eating at Egghead Café.
The service here was spot on. Everyone was very accommodating without being over bearing or annoying. I will definitely come back. They have many items that I want to try on the menu. Everything sounds so delicious and I want more.

After their plumbing incident, we decided to wait a couple of weeks to check this place out. My boyfriend and I were a bit scared at first because of the ahh okay reviews but we’re so glad we decided to have brunch here today.
Once you walk through the doors, there’s a cashier and a line to order. You order first then find a seat and wait for your order. Simple right? I kind of wished they gave us directions in the beginning.
After contemplating we ordered the smoked salmon benedict, crab omelette, a strawberry banana smoothie, and a house coffee. Each entrée came with a mixed salad, which had a great tangy dressing. I have no idea what it is but I sure ate my veggies. The smoked salmon was great especially with the capers. Eggs were cooked perfectly. The omelette actually had a crab meat and we could actually taste it. Yum! Smoothie was alright. Wasn’t sweet surprisingly.

Super excited to try this place after all the rave on the Unilocal reviews. I’m sad to say that the experience was mediocre.
First off, my friend and I walk in and notice that there’s a sign that says «order here» at the register. A woman tells us that they just changed the process of ordering this week and they are testing out how efficient ordering at the register before sitting down would be. I told her there were four of us for lunch. Since there were no seats inside, we sat outside on a table to wait for inside seating.
As we took our menus outside to look at what we would like to order, the waitress (?) brought four waters to our outside table and silverware. We figured out what we wanted to order and noticed people leaving. Perfect! We jumped up, grabbed our water and went inside to sit.
As we ordered our food at the register, it felt like it took forever just to order two items off the menu. Granted this was a new process for them; to me it wasn’t efficient.
Food came out pretty quickly one by one. I ordered the Crab Benedict and for $ 14 I was hoping it was going to be a pretty good size. Sadly I was disappointed. The size of the bread it came on was «cute» and there was mostly bread and hardly any crab meat. I kept cutting into the bread thinking I was going to bite into crab some time soon, but it didn’t quite happen. It came with a side of salad, which was good but not filling either. My friends ordered the iced Vietnamese coffee which took quite a while to come out, but very tasty.
If you would like a light breakfast, this is the place to go. However the pancakes aren’t light, they give A LOT. The s’mores pancakes are what filled me up. Overall okay food, nothing that stood out that you can’t find anywhere else.

I bookmarked this restaurant and was out and about with my hubby and decided to give it a shot. I know that they are a new restaurant and I have read about hiccups they have had with their service but the pics on Unilocal looked sooooo good!
There was ample parking which was a bonus. Usually this part of town is short on spots. There were a few outdoor tables picnic bench style. Walking in the décor was clean and modern with edison light bulbs and concrete accent pillars. There is a chalk board of menu items and clip boards with the menu printed on natural fiber paper. The staff was warm and friendly explaining that they just recently changed their ordering process. They seated us and gave us a clipboard for the menu and stated we order at the counter and pay.
A girl came to our table and brought us water. We reviewed the menu and decided on the mac pancakes and classic eggs benedict. We had a large latte each also. I placed the order at the counter and paid via credit card. I checked in on Unilocal and got a 10% discount which was fantastic! The guy took my name and said someone would call when the order was ready to be picked up at the counter.
To our surprise one of the staff members brought out our lattes and then shortly after they brought our food, one entrée at a time a few minutes apart. No one called our name to pick up the order. The food was DELICIOUS and the latte was perfect.
We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere of egghead café. We had a great experience but I can see there are details still to be hammered out with their service and processes. We look forward to going back soon.

Since this place is fairly new and receiving all the buzz, I decided to come see what the hype was all about. We came in for a late brunch around noon. Lol All my fault because I slept in.
Found the location easily with the use of gps even though it was not needed as I am known for my good sense of direction. Hehe. It’s located in the nearby vicinity of Sports Authority in Ward, on Queen St. It was easy to spot, thanks to their big sign. There was ample parking which made it convenient.
Upon arrival, we were casually greeted, asked if we were dining in, and told we could sit anywhere. We were given clipboards that held the menu. Nice and simple.
Food:
Popeyes Omelette~ I was feeling healthy today so I ordered the omelette with spinach, mushroom, onions, garlic, and hollandaise sauce. All my favorite veggies! It was flavorful and satisfying. You can never go wrong with hollandaise sauce though. I usually love omelettes with some kind of meat whether it’s bacon or sausage, but clearly this one didn’t require it. This dish also came with a side mixed green salad and choice of rice or toast.
Ube Pancakes~ I’ve never been satisfied with anyone’s Ube pancakes and lost my liking for it which is why I usually stay away from ordering it anywhere but my friend wanted to try it. Unfortunately, looks are deceiving and this happens to be the case again. The presentation was lovely, but the taste, not so great. Plain pancakes with chopped up chunks of sweet potatoes cooked into the mix. Not so impressed, but that’s just me. It was a little bland and I was expecting more sweetness, the haupia syrup and coconut flakes didn’t help too much. It felt like I was eating pancakes with sweet potato, not an Ube pancake in one.
Macadamia Nut Latte~ I enjoyed this latte. Not too sweet or strong. Perfect sweetness and flavor. Yummy. Only negative is that I was expecting pretty latte art from photos I’ve seen from other Unilocalers, but I’ll live.
I say you should definitely try this place once then make your opinion of it from there.

Egghead Café is located on Queen street, not too far away from Fresh Café. There is some parking in the front or you might be able to score some street parking if it is completely full.
We came by on a Sunday morning, we arrived about 10:20 am. Lucky for us there was only one other couple waiting to be seated. So at least we didn’t have to wait long: D
After being seated, no one brought us a menu. We looked around and saw a board with the menu written on it. I ended up having to walk up to grab a clip board menu so we can see the description of the different omelets.
Shortly after a waitress took our order. Along with our food I also ordered a hot vanilla latte. It too them about 20 minutes before they brought me an iced vanilla late =_​_​_​= I kind of wanted to send it back, but then I thought to myself that I would have to wait another 20 minutes just to get a hot one. So I just took it.
As we were waiting for our food, we had nothing better to do but look around and observe our surroundings. I really don’t know what their food process is in the back, but I found it bizarre the order they chose to send food out. Cause I know there were tables seated before us and they were still waiting on food, but some guest who were seated after us got their food first. That makes absolutely no sense. I mean maybe if they ordered something like a fruit bowl, OK that I understand. But stuff like omelettes and pancakes?
The Grub.

This omelette is filled with Chorizo, tomato, onion, bell pepers, salsa, pepper jack cheese. I only had one bite, but I liked it! I thought it was yummy :3

The hollandaise sauce was good. The bread was a bit hard, maybe slightly over toasted. It was extremely hard to cut. And the egg was border line over cooked.
Overall — the food was good however the wait staff and food timeliness needs some improvement.

This little brunch café is great! I took the kids here specifically for the smores pancakes. I was very impressed how fluffy the pancakes were! Super good! My acai bowl wasn’t very good though. It was very soupy. I wouldn’t recommend it.
I’ll be back to try other menu items like their omelette or benedicts. The prices here are great. Seating here is a little tight. I think they could make better use of the space but I love the cozy feel of the restaurant.

The Story of the Lonely Coffee.
Sunday late morning, craving brunch food, we noticed a Hot and New brunch place on Unilocal that was nearby so wife and I head off to enjoy what we hope is a great new place. Took a while to locate, set back a little from the road, there were several people standing outside which is normally a good sign.
We park, sign in at 11 am, peruse the menu offering while we wait and check out the Unilocal reviews. Mostly stellar reviews… with a few 3 or 2 stars based on service. I normally expect new places to take a bit of time to work out the kinks so I went in with a patient mind set.
We were seated at 11:30 am.30 minute wait wasn’t too bad. Server took our order quickly, we had already decided outside what we wanted. Wife ordered a sandwich while I went with the Huevos Rancheros and a cup of coffee. time was approx 11:35. We sat, took in the décor, looked at our phones, admired the food arriving at tables around us, seemed like our order was taking a little longer as the 2 other tables that were seated at the same time had already received their meals.
At noon, I still hadn’t even gotten my cup of coffee yet, had to stand up and approach a server to ask if I can at least have my coffee while we waited. she apologized and brought the a cup over. No cream or sweeteners offered or on the table, the coffee though was tasty. And there the coffee sat, sad and lonely waiting for the rest his breakfast mates to join him on the barren table. By this time, tables that had been seated a good 20 minutes after us had started receiving their food. for us.just the lonely cup of coffee sat between the two of us.
At 12:15, one of the servers finally approached our table and asked what side dish I wanted with my Huevos Rancheros. uh oh.not a good sign. We finally decide we couldn’t wait anymore.45 minutes after placing our order we stood up, went to the counter and said cancel our order, we’ll just pay for the coffee. We were informed that they had just put our order into the kitchen 5 minutes ago. apparently our order was sitting around for 40+ minutes. We politely declined, had other places to be…75 minutes invested in this endeavor with nothing to show for it.
As we walked out, our Coffee cup sat lonely and sad in the center of our now empty table, destined never to be joined by his brunch buddies.
Dramatics aside, seriously, seated at the table and not once in the 45 minutes did someone come up and check on us. It’s not a huge place, maybe 10 or so tables. Had to physically go up to ask for my coffee, no one came by with water or to let us know that the food would be out shortly. I don’t blame the server personally, but the system broke down and could have been easily avoided with perhaps better training and a better process. We headed over to Big City Diner where the servers are trained to check on their tables every few minutes, the manager walks the restaurant asking patrons how everything is… makes instances like we experienced at Egghead easily avoidable. I know Egghead is new, maybe we’ll be back. maybe not. I noticed two other 1 star review posted around the time we were there today as well. maybe they just were not on their game today.

EdEating is a little uncomfortable, hard seats (I no more da natro cushion lidat), not somewhere id like to cruise and eat (which is usually my style). A little loud, blender goes off once in a while. The staff was nice, friendly, and not at all rushy. Mason jars for water. Huge coffee cups, perfect for bread dipping.
I had the eggs benedict with a side of toast. My benny didnt come with potatoes which I thought was unusual, but I enjoyed their substitute (salad) anyway. Their Hollandaise sauce wasnt consistent all the way through, but I kind of liked it. A little more buttery here a little more yolky there. The salad had a perfect amount of dressing on it.
Overall, this little breakfast place is a good blend of the classics like benedict, omelets, ect. and the new really sweet stuff like ube and s’mores pancakes.

Had to give this place a shot. Pictures look good but its more to it than meets the eye.
I ordered the crab omelette and Ahi eggs Benedict. The omelette came out first so I was able to dig in before my other dish. I really liked it. It’s not fake crab. It was real and it had flavor. Not a lot though but you could taste it. The melted cheese was nice and stretchy! The only thing about this I would change is order it without green bell peppers. There was a lot and I don’t care for them.
The Ahi Eggs Benedict was not what I expected. I didn’t expect the Ahi to be a slab. It was a thin slice but at least have some flavor. I actually had to look at it and wonder if it was Ahi. The bread was a baguette and it was hard. Like toasted hard. Would’ve been better it they left it as is.
The Hollindaise sauce was bland. No tangy flavor. The egg was perfect. Can’t make it any better than that.
The one thing I liked about both dishes is it came with a nice mix salad with some good dressing instead of some potato side.
Food didn’t take long to get to the table. Customer service was very friendly and not over attentive.
The set up in this place is decent. It’s not booth seating which I prefer but the seating in here is not TOO scrunched together where your conversation is the next persons entertainment.
Located in the old I Love Country Café on Queen St. We got there about 10:00 am and there was lots of parking. Definitely willing to try this place again and up the rating if it gets better.

Kaka’ako is a happening place! This little district in Honolulu is becoming a big deal as more construction and other improvements are happening! It reminds me of the Arts District of Los Angeles or the Container Park area of Downtown Las Vegas… crowded and revitalized with challenging parking, but popular and fun!
Driving along Queen Street, you’ll pass many businesses. Egghead is set back from the street, with the parking lot in front of it. There are designated stalls, marked for each company that shares this space. Park for free and enter a spacious warehouse type room where tables and chairs can be arranged to fit parties of various sizes.
I got the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict — yes! (I really wanted the Crab Meat Eggs Benedict or the Crab Omelette and the Ube pancakes, but I’m saving that for when our Breakfast Club meets.) The eggs and the salmon were yummy! The baguette was a bit hard and dry for me. Overall, the taste and presentation were great!
Our friend, Eric Robert aka ERR, ordered the Hawaiian Stack Pancakes for our table to share — this was the Winner! There is one pancake of each flavor: Haupia (coconut), macadamia nut, and pineapple. I liked them all because I like variety: sweet, savory, and fruity! Boring, it is not!

We are brunch junkies, Ok i said it. We are on the constant hunt for new breakfast places that have not opened franchises Japan and are already overrun with a 40 min wait of Japanese tourist. *cough* Kaila, Moena, Eggsnthings *cough*
So we found the new little gem in Kakaako. There are 4 stalls in the front otherwise Ward ave it will be.
Wive loves pancakes and I love eggs bene. So thats what we had, the strawberry shortcake pancake and Mexican eggs Benedict. It consisted of chorizo as the meat, topped with salsa verde. I think a dab of sour cream would have sealed the deal for this dish, but very good in any case.
The strawberry shortcake pancakes were not bad. It was a little spongy and the strawberry tastes only stays on the top pancake. You will still need syrup for the bottom two cakes as there is not enough sauce to go around. Overall a cute little place to have some good grinds.

Seeing several people check in here or post pictures on social media made me curious enough to mentally bookmark this place. Not even a few days have passed and I get an invite to have breakfast here so I was all for it. Little did I know that I was having breakfast here with the Duke, ERR!
We all planned to have breakfast at 9am but I arrived a little early not knowing how busy they would be. Luckily, they weren’t super busy yet and parking was available. There are many stalls allocated to Egghead Breakfast & Love. ERR was already there so we chilled outside talking story waiting for the rest of our party. Once everyone arrived, we went inside.
There are several tables that you can sit at for parties of 2 or 4 and a giant community type table in the middle that fits 6. We sat in the middle. It was spacious and our server greeted us with water and menus right away. I asked for coffee and she brought it shortly after. They do well at keeping your cup full. It did take us awhile to decide what to order but we finally managed to order before the place filled up.
I ordered the Huevos Rancheros with side of Salad and Parmesan Garlic Toast. The salad had a light dressing that gave the greens just enough taste to not overpower the meal. Chorizo Sausage was two very thin slices but it had a nice flavor to it. The Parmesan Garlic Toast was good and did well to absorb all the yolk from my eggs.
We all shared an order of the Hawaiian Stack Pancake thanks to ERR. It consisted of one Macadamia Nut pancake, one Pineapple pancake and one Haupia pancake. Personally I liked the Macadamia Nut pancake the most. After we finished our meal, we hung out a bit talking story and enjoying each other’s company.

«Smile, be an Egghead!» Stumbled upon this place on Unilocal.The name «egghead» was quite unique. It is hidden along Queen Street in Kakaako. We decided to go there on a Sunday brunch. It gets busy during peak hours. Parking is limited, about 6 stalls by the restaurant.
When we stepped in we weren’t quite sure if we order the food first or seat yourself. A few minutes later the worker behind the counter said you could sit anywhere. So we found two seats and waited for them to give us the menu. The place was quite loud and we can hardly hear what we were saying. The place was nicely decorated and only a couple of tables.
We decided to get the crab benedict with parmesan toast, ube pancakes and honey latte. The food took around 15 minutes. The honey latte tasted like any other latte at other places. The crab benedict was good because they used real crab meat. Instead of English muffin they used toast. The salad had a tangy taste from the dressing. The parmesan toast was okay. The ube pancake was okay. It’s way different from Yogur Story’s ube pancake which I love. They put little pieces of okinawan sweet potatoes and stuffed it inside a regular batter of pancakes. I don’t know if that’s unique or weird? I like that they put the haupia syrup in each layer of the pancakes, that way it doesn’t taste dry. I saw a photo of the ube pancake on Unilocal that got coconut flakes on theirs while we got a toothpick.
Service was good. I understand it’s still new and they’re still getting things organized and settled. At the end of the meal the server told us we get 20% of our total if we checked in on Unilocal or Facebook. Sweet deal for their grand opening.

We drove by this place and circled around. It’s hidden on queen street past Fresh Café, in front of Kiyo’s transmission service, with some free parking. The restaurant inside is decorated really nice and spaced out so your not rubbing elbows with everyone eating.
We got lucky as it happens to be their soft opening. The wait staff was extremely polite and their food was on point. The name egghead leads with high expectations and they did not disappoint.
I got the Classic Benedict and it was delicious. The poached eggs done just right. My wife got a crab omelette that was just outstanding. I wanted to order one after tasting her’s but didn’t to avoid looking like a fat boy.
This place is pretty good and if you’re in the area make it a stop.
