Great service very friendly staff. Small little deli on the side of south street next to the sheep. I always try a different sandwich, and finally got some homemade jerky. The sandwiches are great and come with a nice cold pickle, in the best lunch pale ever a simple paper bag, and if your lucky or their not too busy a nice little picture to join you for lunch.
It’s always yummy yummy!

Very friendly. Small place but has a small area behind shop with chair and table. My sandwich was awesome I built my own salami italian style and my niece had Jamie’s favorite which is rotisserie chicken. We both got slice key lime pie very yummy… I recommend you try I’ll definitely be back.

Having eaten our way through almost all of the sandwiches, we can really say «Yum yum, Good Eats!» Every sub is an interesting combination of ingredients. My personal fav: TT, add pepperoncini please!

The sandwiches here aren’t bad. I’d rather go for the cheaper option of Subway though.

If you’re looking for a great Ruben this is your final stop! Literally nine out of 10 people in line for ordering the Ruben, I have to admit it is excellent.
This is hole in the wall dive shop located on South Street and if you blink you will drive right past it.
In my opinion real Unilocalers are looking for great places this is a must try.

Went there on a friends recommendation. Service was good and the people there are really nice. But as far as my sandwich went it was ok. The bread was from Costco and the meat was Boars Head brand. I could have made my own sandwich at home lol. I didn’t get anything fancy so my sandwich was just ok. Paying $ 9 for a plain and simple sandwich? I think I’ll settle on a plate lunch or a bowl of ramen next time.

Nice little Deli across if the fire station in Kaka’ako. The layout is very hipster and reminiscent of a something you’d find in SF. The girl who seems to manage the place was hella nice. Lastly, they use Boars head deli meat which means they are in it for the love.
Here’s the rundown:
1. You write your order on a ticket and clip it to a line above the counter (hipster)
2. Staff makes your sandwich and asks if you want a free pickle (say yes!)
3. You pay with cash or card and you have a sandwich made with love in your hands.
I got the vegetarian «Freshie» and the misses got «Dabomb». Both were solid sandwiches with appropriate amounts of meats and veggies. My only critique for my sandwich would have been a tad more humus. None the less a very filling vegetarian sandwich.

As you can tell I’ve been on a sandwich kick lately. Sandwiches and salads always taste better when someone else is making it for you. I came here on my «Mommy break» while my daughter was in her 2 hour preschool. I didn’t realize the parking was so limited. There is a tiny parking lot to the right of the building between this place and some auto place. Very limited spots. There is a small amount of street parking. The parking lot to the left of this place doesn’t have 1 hour parking which blows. However the sandwich I had was fantastic. I had the Mozzachio which had pesto, peppers, mozzarella, bacon, chicken and spinach on a ciabatta. Everything flowed well together. I wanted to try their sides like their Mac and Cheese, but they were out of everything. I tried to order their jerky too and it was out until the following week. When you walk in fill out the sandwich form even if you are ordering off the menu. They will take your ticket and this way they make sure to make the sandwiches in the order which they were taken. Good system. Super nice people. They are definitely busy. It was worth the wait. When I come back I will call before and make sure they have certain items before I brave the parking arrangement.

Saw the reviews on Unilocal,and decided to try it out for lunch. Just a word of advice. .get there early because they do sell out of things early. .it’s a small front lobby area and can get kind of crowded…
However. .I got The Fat Greek… ADDICTIVE! it was so good, and the tomatoes bisque soup delish! Service was great… very friendly. There is seating in the back if you want to stay and eat. A little expensive, but we’ll worth the cost. Will definitely go again.

Not that good experience in my first visit.
I wanted some turkey sandwich and been offered one of people’s favorite and was very basic turkey, mayonnaise, letter, tomatoes and cranberry jelly. Nothing to cheer about. Also I ordered a $ 6 green smoothie and the cup was not even full plus there were big chunks of mango seed that will not pass thru the straw. I told them if possible can blend it some more, they did and still did not help, lots of hard mango seed were in the cup.
Hopefully they read this review and are a little more careful on what goes into the smoothies. Great staff though.

I ate there today with my son, wife and sister in law, service was great and the food was delicious. We all had different sandwiches and they were all great. The pickles are awesome, if I knew they were that good i would have bought extra. If I am in town I will eat their again.

Wow I haven’t written a review for Good Eats yet?! Probably because I’ve been too damn busy putting delicious sammiches in my face!
Thank goodness for Good Eats… there is a distinct lack of awesome delis here for some reason or another, but this makes up for it! The sandwiches are derishious. The pickles are derishious. The homemade beef jerky is derishious. EVERYTHING IS BLOODY DERISHIOUS! If you go with more than 1 person, order 2 different things so you can taste more sammich goodness!
The service is always super welcoming and friendly as well. From the first time I went here they’ve always treated everyone like a regular. Now that i’m a regular, it’s always a pleasure to see everyone working here.
My recommendations for today are Da Bomb, Keri’s Kreation, and that portabello one I can’t quite recall the name for but I remember its REALLY good!

Since our office moved from Manoa to Town, I’ve been missing Andy’s sandwiches so much and yearned for an authentic deli. I noticed this place one day when walking to the monthly Eat the Street. I walked in and you see the breads on the counter and big brownies with lots of nuts, fudge and I was like YES!
Let me say, I’ve found my new favorite deli shop! I decided to create my own sandwich, I chose sour dough bread, pepper jack cheese, salami, chipotle mayo (gotta have some sort of spice) dijon mustard, lettuce, spinach, sprouts and onion for the veggies. Wow, wow, WOW! Everything was fresh, the sour dough was soft and so was the crust! One bite and I did the yummy «closed eye, eye roll while lifting your head towards the heavens» oh my goodness just hit the jack pot, it’s so tasty face! With the «other» popular sandwich chain, I find myself having to mentally tell myself, you can finish it, it is healthy and have to little fight through finishing the six inch. No problem here at Good Eats!
The cashier was super friendly, conversation came easy and naturally. Fast, great service and fantastic FRESH food. I definitely recommend this spot!

I went around lunch time today to try this place out, only a couple people came by so there was no wait. The staff was very friendly in explaining the huge (and glorious) menu, and I decided to go with the Mozzachio. To make things short, it was an awesome sandwich that I feel was worth the price I paid for it. (you can also get a drink/​chips combo for under $ 10). Despite what your eyes may precieve as just a normal sized sandwich (compared to something like subway), there is in fact quite a bit of ingredients packed away and pressed into them. I felt pretty full just after one half but I labored on, not wanting my toasty sandwich to become cold. I’ll definitely be back to try more types!
I don’t think the hours on this Unilocal site are correct so call them first. I also think they are closed on Sunday?

I often deliberately don’t remember to pack lunch for work, and the most convenient places to my office are plate lunches and Subway, which gets old after a while.
Last week, while in the area my boss asked to stop for a sandwich before coming back to the office to which I replied «there’s a sandwich place?» and wandered in behind him.
The menu here is rather expansive offering everything from paninis to sandwiches on regular bread to sandwiches that can be turned into a salad. Needless to say, I was a little bit overwhelmed with options.
I decided to go with The Gobbler which was turkey, cream cheese, homemade cranberry sauce, sweet onion, lettuce and tomato on toasted sourdough bread. The sandwich came with a pickle spear, and in a brown paper bag with a smiley face and the name of my sandwich on it.
The staff was super friendly and helpful.
The sandwich was really good and beats Subway any day.
They offer call ahead and delivery as well.
I will definitely be headed back for more.

Want a good deli/​sandwich joint? This is your place! They offer plenty of gourmet fixed sandwich options, but you’re always free to create your own. All the bread is fresh and they offer many types. To go with the sandwiches, there are chips and snacks. I love the brown paper wrapping and the bonus pickle.
The deli counter is cute, everything is clean and smells fresh. This is a good takeout place. There is a small counter to eat inside, and tables out back. They try to be as nice as possible, but you’re better off taking it elsewhere.
My favorite sandwich is the Reuben, or anything with tuna. My only negative is that value for the money is low, the sandwiches are small for the cost.

My husband and I are always on the lookout for good quality sandwiches. Honolulu does plate lunches well, but sandwiches (like regular not banh mi sandwiches), not so much. I’ve driven past Good Eats a few times and made a mental note to tell my husband. Unfortunately, I forgot and he found out about it when he was hunting for lunch on Unilocal!
First of all, I LOVE that this place is very local (Eat & Shop LOCAL!). The owner was very nice greeting us when we walked in and gave us the run down on how to order. They’re very flexible with you customizing your order (hold the mayo please!). Then our sandwich artist completely takes the cake. Amazing upbeat and friendly service and we couldn’t help but talk a little story with her. You could tell she was proud of the place and really actually enjoyed what she did and it was infectious!
I can’t remember what sandwich my husband had but he thought it was great! I had a Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato and Avocado sandwich was also very tasty! They’ll also have mac & cheese and other sides (if they don’t run out by the time you get there!). They also recently started opening early for breakfast.
FINAL VERDICT:
If you’re in the area, definitely give it a try! Especially if you enjoy thoughtfully made sandwiches!

HEARTY SANDWICHES MADE AND SERVED WITH ALOHA! This place has so many different types of sandwiches, it blows subway out of the park!

1) Da Bomb — Rotisserie Chicken, Bacon, Arugula, Red peppers, Pepperoncini, sweet onion, chipotle mayo, toasted on a ciabatta roll. This would have been perfect minus the red peppers!
2) The Reuben — Pastrami, Sauerkraut, thousand island, swiss, on Rye bread. Surprisingly good!

Located on South Street, near Eat the Street parking lot. Very small space. About 4 high bar stools in the store. 3 – 4 tables hidden outside in the back of the store. Parking is on the street or paid parking on your left.

1) Free Delivery for large orders at an office party or meetings! Call and check how far of a distance, probably within the confinements of the downtown area though.

Talk about a filling sandwich. Wait… let me rephrase that. Talk about a sammich. That’s what this place has, sammiches. They have other food items as well but mainly sandwiches. Some people at work compare this place to a subway. I say «Hello No!» not even close.
Location– (Convenient for punchbowl street workers)
First of all, I like eating here because it’s conveniently located on South Street (Between Halekawila and Queen street) in downtown which is close to where I work.
Food– (Fresh and filling)
Second, they have a huge menu of the many different types of sandwiches that they make. You can also customize your sandwich the way you want. Third, the veggies are fresh and they have many different types of breads to choose from. I mainly customize my sandwiches but I also got to try some from their menu. On my first visit I got the,
Kickin Chicken which is made with chicken, chipotle, mayo, avacado, provolone cheese, lettuce, and tomato on a chiabatta bread. I loved it. Only thing missing is bacon. On another visit, I got the
The Mumsey —
which is made with turkey, ham, havarti cheese, dijon mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion and alfalfa sprouts on a hoagie bread. This was good as well but I forgot that i’m not a fan of sprouts and they do use a lot.
Service — (Quick and Friendly)
On my first visit here, I came with two of my friends. Upon entering, one of my friends yells out really loud, «Is this place supposed to be a subway?» The look on their faces was priceless and it seemed everyone stopped dead in their tracks, including the people across the street to just stare at us. When I made my order, I apologized and told them he is slightly retarded and has been sexually deprived. Fortunately, they were really nice about it and laughed. Just thought I’d share that story to show how nice they are. Since they assemble your sandwich directly in front of you (like subway hahah), I could see how quickly they work to get out everyone’s order on time. Most people here do phone orders and I would recommend you do the same if you are in a hurry because if you make an order during lunch then you are competing with the people who made phone orders as well and you could end up waiting.
Environment– (Small, mainly take out)
They actually have a counter with a few seats if you decide to eat there. However, everyone uses those seats to wait for their food. I would recommend take out. They also used to have one table on the outside but last time I went it wasn’t there anymore.
Price– Average is around 7 to 9 dollars per sandwich, which is very reasonable for the size of and quality.
Parking– I think you can park in the back, but if not, good luck.
Overall, one of my favorite work lunch spots.

Someone on the talk board was looking for ideas in L.A. and I wound up recommending some delis like Canter’s, pastrami sammie places like Langer’s and The Hat, as well as french dip like Philippe’s. That got me thinking about sammies here and I had a chance to stop by Good Eats Deli. It pretty much replicates what a decent, basic, deli should be. It’s nothing fancy and it does not try to be. You have to write your order on a form and then clip it onto a mini-​zip line for your «order in.» When I got there today, that would have been a little excessive since no one else was there, but I should have done it anyway for formality’s sake.
I ordered the turkey pastrami on rye which was one of the too-​numerous-​to-​count specialty sandwiches. You can just order whatever you want a la carte as well by checking off boxes. I like that they use high quality Boar’s Head meats and have good dressing like Grey Poupon available. The pastrami was fresh, as well as the veggies. The Grey Poupon also makes the sammie kick. It was a nice touch on toasted rye bread. You would think this would be such an easy thing that any sandwich place could do. I haven’t seen that to be the case. This is a solid if not unspectacular deli place, but it has a real authentic deli feel to it. Storto’s in Kaimuki is next up on my deli list.

I pass this little shop across the Kakaako Fire Station on South Street all the time, but only recently took notice of it when my bf pointed out the Boar’s Head sign on their window. He has pretty good sammich radar, and Good Eats was, well, good eats.
My bf and I ordered the Rosie’s Roast Beef and the Mozzachio, and both were delicious! For those of you with OCD, these sandwiches were made for you because if there’s such a thing as a well-​constructed sandwich, then Good Eats has it down. I really love how all of the sandwich fixings are layered and stacked so neatly and evenly between both slices of bread and the mayo/​pesto is spread across the entire slice of bread, so you get to taste everything in each bite.
We also tried the Mac and Cheese side, and it was mostly cheese with some macaroni. It was good, but it was rich and I’m not sure if I’d order it again.
The prices are a bit steep at $ 8-​$ 9 for a small sandwich, but this is a quality over quantity kind of place, so I thought it was worth the price. I think they slice their sandwich meat to order, which is cool. Expect to wait a while for your sandwiches, since constructing the perfectly anal OCD sandwich will take some some time.
