For months I was fed up with the dermatologist I had. He couldn’t specifically diagnosed my skin condition and kept prescribing me ointments that didn’t work. I went to Unilocal and looked up dermatologists and found Dr. Sakamoto. Although it took over a month to see him, from reading his reviews, he was well worth it. The first day I went to see him, his staff was professional and friendly. Dr. Sakamoto asked me a few questions and examined the affected areas and diagnosed me. He gave me samples of the medication and referrals to another specialist. Imagine that, all within an hour. I appreciate your expertise and professionalism Dr. Sakamoto!

Most professional office I’ve been to in Honolulu! At first impression, office was quite, clean, and the staff members were all extremely professional and friendly as well. Dr. Sakamoto and resident doctor Dr. Brooks were knowledgable and friendly. They really made me feel comfortable and not awkward. The mole removal procedure was quick and nearly painless. I would recommend anyone looking for a dermatologist to come to Dr. Sakamoto’s office. Thanks so much for the wonderful experience! :)

I am glad to see Dr. Sakamoto is getting such high ratings. He is a very personable and competent doctor.
I have been to see him now three years for skin cancer screenings because I am in a high risk category and my mother has had a few scares. I have not had to wait long for any of my appointments, I am in and out quickly, and he is generally a nice guy.
Only complaint could be that the wait for an appointment is long. But that is a problem with most doctors on the island. And he looks like he could be 12. :) He has a good sense of humor when I joke with him about that.

While it is difficult to get an appointment, I have to say that Dr. Sakamoto is well worth the wait. My husband, daughters and I see Dr. Sakamoto once in a while when we have skin issues. Recently, I took my baby in for eczema. Although there’s not much we can do about the problem, he took the time to explain what it is and the best thing we can do for it. Sometimes, that’s all we really need; someone that takes the time to explain things to «regular people». He is very personable… easy to talk to.

This Doctor makes you feel like he cares! I didn’t feel rushed and he took the time to ask if I had any other skin concerns. #Geniune

Dr. Sakamoto is friendly, caring, detail oriented and informative. I recommend him to all my family and friends. His office is really busy, so book in advance. I had to schedule my appointment about a month and half ahead of time, but it was worth it.

OMG! Dr. Sakamoto was recommended by 3 of my co-​workers. Yep, now I’m #4. Before making my first appointment I googled. After I read his short and sweet bio, I was sold. He is young, professional, patient and soft spoken. On select weekdays, the office opens at 7 am. They are closed on the weekends and most holidays. I would definitely recommend Dr
Sakamoto for your skin concerns.

Ok so I almost didn’t want to write about Dr. Sakamoto since I didn’t want him to gain any more popularity than he already does. But that would be selfish of me! Honestly he probably is like the best dermatologist ever! Thankfully my other doctor recommended him when I was looking for a dermatologist. He gets pretty booked fast so be warned that you might not get an appt as soon as you’d like. The staff is extremely friendly and so accommodating. Dr. Sakamoto himself is seriously one of the nicest doctors I’ve ever met! He makes you feel at ease and answers any questions or concerns. He totally relieved my stresses for what I thought was something serious. He also has helped with my past skin problems that are no longer a problem! Thank you Dr. Sakamoto!

I can totally see why there are so many great reviews for this Doctor. He is super down to earth, talks to you like he knew you for years and makes you feel super comfortable. After seeing another well known Dermatologist in Kailua for YEARS, I decided to try out this Dermatologist based on his reviews. His staff is awesome as well. I’m so glad I decided to go and see Dr. Greg Sakamoto!

Dr. Sakamoto is everything I wish every doctor could and should be. Coming from Maui, I had no idea what dermatologist to go to for a dark lump that was under my arm, so I jumped on Unilocal and of course chose a doctor that had 5 star reviews. Dr. Sakamoto and his staff deserve far more than 5 stars, they made me feel comfortable and genuinely cared about my experience at their office, I swear I never saw a smile come off their faces. I went in for one thing that ended up only taking 5 min and Dr. Sakamoto took the time to ask me if I had any other problems that I wanted him to look at. I’ve been telling everyone I know how amazing my experience was and to fly up to oahu if they ever need to go see a dermatologist!

I think I finally found a great dermatologist. Thanks to the great reviews on Unilocal!Dr. Sakamoto’s office is located in the physicians office building (POB) III at Queens suite 603. There’s validated parking in the structure which comes out to about $ 2 – 3.
Appointments fill up fast. I had to book a couple months in advance. The staff is really nice and makes you feel welcomed. I only had to wait about 5 minutes in the waiting room. Dr. Sakamoto is great, he listens to any concerns/​questions that you may have, and is really knowledgeable. He provided the best treatment for my skin.

10 stars this guy is da bomb dot com. He is so down to earth, its like talking to a friend vs a stuffy doc. He is very knowledgeable. The only sad part is he is like super man you in and out in 5 minutes, surgeries and all, so if you are like me and hate work and no like go back work right away then find another doctor with no personality and a long waiting room.

The entire experience at Dr. Sakamoto’s is second to none. From his front office to his assistants and last but not least Dr. Sakamoto himself. He is very genuine, caring, and able to resolve your problems and help you have the skin you want. his office is very easy to find, parking is no problem and his office is immaculate. I have been recommending him to all my friends and colleagues. you will too.

I’ve been extremely lucky this year in finding some outstanding Dr’s. I’ve never been to a Dermatologist before, my skin was always clear and even toned, and then BAM! just like that, I turned 27 and my skin decided to look like Crater Face from Grease :(not to mention, I had a skin tag on my neck and eczema on my thigh. It was a triple threat of tom foolery happening on my body. Staff was extremely pleasant on the phone and in person. Dr. Sakamoto himself was super nice and I felt extremely calm around him (dr’s normally freak me out). Really listened to why I was there and diagnosed me with Rosacea (got me some meds for it). I love how they open super early to! it just works well with my schedule. Highly recommend.

Why don’t we just throw the next Unilocal party here? It seems like everyone and their mommas come to see Dr Sakamoto! And I can see why!
I’ve had bad acne for years starting from when I was in 5^th grade. My thinking process over the past several years went a little like this:
10 years old: Pimple! My first pimple! Ah puberty!
13 years old: Gahh I hate my face! Whoaaa, at least my face isn’t as bad as that guy’s…
16 years old: My face is on fire. Mini volcanoes of pain. Kill me now. I need to vent on Myspace
18 years old: Time to learn photoshop. I look like a pizza face in these grad pictures
21 years old: When will all these spots go AWAY!!! I thought I was done with puberty!
23 years old: Crap. Adult acne. I need to vent on Facebook
And after trying all those over the counter things (Neutrogena, Clean and Clear, Clearasil, you name it, I tried it), I decided to finally see a dermatologist. I saw that Dr Sakamoto had amazing reviews so I booked an appointment online. Technology, how convenient.
Dr Sakamoto put me on some medications for my acne for several months and I have to say the side effects aren’t pretty (at least they’re temporary) but the results are showing. I’ve never been happier! It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to go out and not put makeup on my face to cover these ugly spots and it feels AMAZING. He’s attentive and patient as well, taking the time to answer any questions or concerns you might have. None of this «hi, bye, next in line» nonsense most other doctors tend to follow. While he was evaluating my acne, he also noticed a pigmented spot on my lip that he quickly checked (not cancerous thank god).
His staff is friendly as well. They’ll seat you on time 99% of the time. They sat me late once by 5 minutes and they apologized so much that I felt bad instead!
Thank you Dr Sakamoto! You might just be the only guy I will let touch my naked face. Don’t worry, I’ll make up an excuse for my future husband…

I was looking for a dermatologist while on vacation. Thanks to Unilocal,I found Dr. Sakamoto due to his high ratings and reviews.
Dr. Sakamoto and his staff were friendly, informative, and professional. He is very personable with a great sense of humor. He also gave me a list of great recommendations on where to eat along with a box of chocolates! :)

Awesome to be seen by a physician ON TIME! Dr. Sakamoto and his staff are personable and professional. Even though you know you’re coming in for a dermatological «issue», Dr. Sakamoto’s personable demeanor and medical/​artistic expertise immediately puts you at ease.

So it seems every few years, I have a devastating skin issue, lol (not really, but lol). This time I had a pretty severe allergic reaction to my seemingly harmless red hair dye. Called the office and they squeezed me in the next day. Once again, I didn’t wait long at all to see Dr. Sakamoto. He answered all of my questions x2 haha. The staff members are so warm and welcoming, making for a pleasurable, comfortable, and stress-​free visit.
I believe I was one of the handful of early reviewers on here. It’s nice to see that many of you were prompted to make an appointment based on Unilocal,and have had the same wonderful experience! A testament to how amazing Dr. Sakamoto and his staff are!

5-​STARS ALL THE WAY!!!
I have to admit, I’ve anxiously been waiting for my appointment with Dr. Sakamoto for weeks simply because of all the amazing things people have said about him on Unilocal!I’d never been to a dermatologist but decided it was high time that I start taking care of my skin before I end up looking like the Crypt Keeper. After having three children, my body has gone a hormonal roller coaster ride which has done little to improve the clarity of my skin.
The office is located on the 6^th floor of Queen’s Physicians Bulding III which is directly across from the Board of Water Supply building. The parking lot is a breeze to deal with as there are always plenty of open stalls. The office is comfy, yet modern and you’ll fill out the usual paperwork which takes about 10 minutes. My appointment was scheduled for 11:15 am and at 11:10 am I was escorted into the waiting room by a delightful woman named May. She was unbelievably pleasant and even offered me a glass of water while I waited for the doctor.
Dr. Sakamoto came in soon after May left and he was AMAZING! So personable, genuine, knowledgable and dare I say it… happy! We talked about my skin issues and he intelligently presented his diagnosis and solutions. He graciously answered my million and one questions:

Question #69, 622) How do you stop me from aging?

Question: #999,748) What SPF should I be wearing?

We talked through the pros/​cons of the treatment and came up with a happy solution. I can’t wait to see what happens to my skin in the next two months and hopefully I’ll be acne free!!!
