Hawaii Check Cashing

Came in to exchange Home Depot gift card. It had a $ 90 balance on it. The lady who helped me took about 30 minutes to verify it, something that would have took me 30 seconds. Then they offered me $ 45, half the balance. On their website it says they offer great rates for gift card, that was a lie. Is 50 percent what they consider great?
Don’t get a payday loan from here either. I’ve used them before, and they are the only place I know of that will call your employer every time you renew. And let’s be honest, getting a payday loan is just about the stupidest thing you can do.
Their western union service is all that they’re good for

An emergency came up where I needed to pay something, FAST!
I didn’t want to go in my savings account because that is for something I’m saving for… obviously. So I look around online and found this place which is right up the road from my job, and I decide to call them and apply over the phone for a payday loan!
The lady who assisted me, Karen, was such a great help. I told her I have never made a loan before and she was so happy to help me, I wish everyone was like her! happy to help! It’s so hard to find people like that now a days!
Despite it being my first time, she made me feel comfortable and I knew I could trust her because every question I get, she was able to answer it, with confidence! Not no «ummm.you SHOULD be able to…» or «yeah…I think I so…» She was giving me answers I wanted to hear!
She told me all the things I need to bring, SS card, pay stubs, pay statement, phone bill, ID, and a blank check. BUT, I didn’t hear blank check/​:
When I rolled up to this place I had all my documents ready! (well, at least I thought I did) She did her thing, and made sure I was qualified, and then she asks me to write a blank check for her of how much money I needed.
I nervously asked her «I need a blank check?» and she said «yes, a personal check» I told her I don’t have any and how do I get it? She said I can go to a bank and ask for a starters check or a «temp» check and she will wait for me to come back, and we can continue.
So I run to my bank up the road, and grab my personal checks and run back down!
There she is, waiting for me with all my documents ready so she can give me that loan. Everything was set and I got it!
I apologize for all the inconvenience I caused her, and she she told me I didn’t have to be sorry for anything! She gets lots of first timers and it’s nothing for her.
