This event was held at the Honolulu Museum of Art School. Parking for the event was a flat $ 5.00. You could get street parking after 6pm for free. The event was held on the second floor in two rooms, across from each other. It was a very interesting and educational show. Talking to the exhibitors we found out many things about what we were looking at like where they came from, the process that made the gemstone, why they were rare, why they cracked, why they are soft, how they were hardened, etc. I didn’t expect to buy anything. One dealer carried meteorites. Many were flat, rectangular slices made into pendants. Another dealer had what looked like clear marbles, then when a UV flashlight was turned on them they glowed iridescently. There were opals, garnets I didn’t know came in many other colors, turquoise, agates, fossils and so much more just look at the pics. Oh, they accept cash only so bring your stash. M did all the purchasing. Aquamarine, Ethiopian Fire Opal, Azurite-Malachite and Sleeping Beauty Turquoise. I didn’t buy anything. However, I did walk out of there with 3 megadon shark fossil tooths. They’re not complete but I like how they had a good serration on them. One is large that I plan to make a hand blade out of to hang in the car. The other 2 will become chokers for G and I to wear. I am impressed with the amount of people that showed filling the rooms up making it a little difficult to walk through. However, the vibe was good, people were friiendly and my pocket was much lighter. Now I was hungry. Good thing I hid a $ 20 bill from M.
