Hawaii Pacific Neuroscience (HPN) is the leading and largest provider of neuroscience care in the state of Hawaii serving patients from Oahu, Maui, Big Island, Kauai, Molokai, Guam and other Pacific Islands. HPN is committed to patients from all corners of the Pacific Rim to seek the most advance care and research treatments in neuroscience provided by Hawaii’s top specialists working in a fully integrated multidisciplinary patient centered care model.

Our patient centered care model allows our patients to access care through a variety of specialized, disease specific centers including Aging, Memory and Brain Health Center, Center for Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders, Headache and Facial Pain Center, Center for Stroke and Neurologic Restoration, Center for Behavioral Health, Center for Geriatric Medicine, Hawaii Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, Center for Brain Tumor and Neuro-​oncology, Center for Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Center for Spine Health, Center for Neuromuscular Disorders, Center for Neuroscience Clinical Trials, Center for Brain Science Research, Center for Neural Engineering and Innovation, Wellness Center for Mind Body Medicine.

HPN also leads the state in bringing neuroscience research and clinical trials to the islands and is also Hawaii’s largest neuroscience academic and teaching program attracting over 30 residents, medical students, post doctorate, graduate and research students

History

Established in 2009.

Hawaii Pacific Neuroscience began in 2009 with one provider and in a short 6 years has grown to 10 providers, a staff of 16, 40 Medical Students, residents and research students working out of 2 locations. This type of success only comes from demand of need as we have worked closely to fulfill the needs accordingly. We now have 2 locations one in Kailua at Castle Medical Center and one in Honolulu at St. Francis on Liliha Street.

Dr. Liow is the director of Hawaii Pacific Neuroscience, Hawaii’s leading and first multidisciplinary Neuroscience Center where he leads a team of neuroscience physicians and researchers in serving over 12,000 patient visits from Oahu, Maui, Big island and Kauai in 2013.

He is the Director of Neuroscience, Chair of the Dept. of Medicine at Castle Medical Center and Clinical Professor of Neurology at the University of Hawaii John Burns School of Medicine. In 2013, the neuroscience center served as an educational and teaching site for over 30 residents, medical students, and graduate and research students from institutions in Hawaii where he served as director of neurology teaching program for the residency programs.
