Hawaiian Tel Federal Credit Union

I don’t like anything about this bank. Their hours, tellers and services are horrible. Their procedures on depositing checks are the worse. You have to jump through hoops to get it done. And I’ve been banking with them for years. Teller like Carley at the Kaimuki branch not very helpful and needs some training in customer service. This banking intuition is the worse if not the worst on this island. I’m taking my money elsewhere.

Who knew? Such a small branch tucked hidden away but service here is spectacular. There is never a line and when there is it moves quickly.
Carla and Steve are awesome and are always so welcoming and helpful. I love that they always have something nice and positive to say to me. They both make me glad I’m a member here and use them as my main bank. Everyone at this branch has been wonderful.
Parking can be tight but since their service is so quick I never wait long. This is my preferred branch but usually do share branching or go to the Kalihi location since it’s on my way home.

This place is the randomest location ever. Located across of the park you’ll find this little gem.
The staff are friendly and efficient and I’m glad I found my bank close to my campus where I attend school at.
The parking lot is small, but good enough for in and out transactions.
The inside is clean and bank-​esk. I will be returning here to do my banking.

Not crazy about my first experience here. My original credit union merged with this one and they were not aware of the changes. I have been at the window waiting for over 10 – 15 minutes while they verify the changes. Not cool.
They did take care of me in the end, but it was a frustrating experience.

One word: convenience! I am a member of Hickam FCU. Living in Kaimuki & having to drive to Pearl Ridge just to go the bank is out of the question so when I heard about shared branching with HawaiianTel FCU, I was ecstatic!
The workers here aren’t always the friendliest/​chattiest but they’re quick & get the job done. I’m normally here just to deposit & I want to just get in & get out so limited conversation doesn’t bother me. I have never had anyone who was straight out rude.
As another Unilocaler mentioned, this branch is tiny with a parking lot to match. There are reserved stalls for each business in the structure but HawaiianTel’s always seem to be filled up even though they are no customers in the bank (go figure). I usually end up parking further down, in Kaimuki Dry Goods’ stalls, & I’ve never had a problem. There are also signs not to reverse park & there is an attendant. However, I ALWAYS reverse & again, have never had a problem.

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I’ve always liked this bank because a family friend of ours worked here until she recently quit. However, when I went today there was a girl in training. One would assume that if you’re in training, you should be nice… WRONG! This girl was so rude! She asked me a question and I didn’t quite hear her so she rephrases her question and I answered it and she was like «Yeah that’s what I was asking» with a stupid look in her face. Then when I asked her a question she repeated my question like it was a stupid one. And when I was finished, out of common courtesy I said thank you. She just ignored me and went about her business. So I guess you can say that this bank SUCKS and so does their customer service.

Talk about a tiny bank. I’ve only been to this location a hand full of times, and I’ve had pretty friendly service.
When you walk in, the entrance has a sliding door, and for me, I saw that but I wasn’t sure what side was going to slide open because theres no sign or anything. It never fails that every time that i go I feel confused. On top of that, the parking lot is really small and they don’t allow you to reverse park. I personally don’t lose that because I’m a reverser. Now some of you may be thinking, why don’t I just reverse any way? Well… there’s a parking attendant who watches you to make sure that you don’t reverse and then if you do, he’ll ask you in a semi nice way to park facing forward. I think this is my biggest issue along with the sliding door.
All in all, I still like the credit union :)

I like this HI Tel FCU better than the N. King Street location because it’s in a convenient part of town, and parking is easy and right next to the building. The people are friendly and when I go during the early afternoon there never really is a line.
