Their food is Horrible, Bland, dry, & over cooked!!. Their restroom is filthy… They will not go out of their way to make any changes to your order after it has been paid, IF you are unhappy/unsatisfied with it. I would not suggest going there to I Love Country Café at 885 Queen St Honolulu, HI96814. DONOT recommend this place to anyone!!.

I was pretty excited about the Ala Moana store opening. I Love Country Café is all about fresh food. I love that they serve breakfast all day. That alone will keep me coming back. The staff is nice and the time from ordering to getting my meal is reasonable. The only complaint is that there is a disconnect between the fresh food that they serve and the drinks that they serve. Your options are sugar water, imitation sugar water or imitation coffee(Nescafé). A restaurant that prides itself on serving«real» food should also serve real iced tea and real coffee. Go there for the food. Go somewhere else for your drink.

I was really looking forward to having I Love Country Café in Ala Moana’s food court. After the Kahala location closed I hadn’t eaten at an I Love Country Café. I ordered the teri-burger and the haupia sweet potato pie. I was extremely disappointed. First off I waited almost 20 minutes, then when I finally got the burger… It reminded me of the burgers I used to make in college. You know you give yourself a short break between hitting the books, thus there’s no time to spice the meat or put an egg in to hold it together. You need the food fast so you mash it into the pan, and burn it to make sure it’s cooked and you’re good to go. It falls apart and falls out of the bun, but it’s food. What I thought would be the saving grace was the pie, but even that wasn’t very good. Overall I was pretty sad, it killed my memory of what I loved about the Kahala location. I will say that they haven’t been open very long so they maybe still working out the kinks. I will go back just because I’m hoping to get the same good eats I got back in the day. Hopefully that happens, maybe next time I’ll get the Mochiko Chicken.

Wheeeeee! First to review the new I Love Country Café located in the Ala Moana food court. This new eatery is located in between Sbarro and Chinatown Express. I’m going to go out on a limb and take a wild guess that the same parent company owns both Chinatown Express and I Love Country Café. I guess the girls working in ILCC wearing the Chinatown Express uniforms was the dead giveaway. Anyways, so far I have tried the chicken katsu and the grilled mochiko chicken. The katsu isn’t really anything to write home about. It’s your standard katsu although a little lighter on the breading than most, but definitely deep fried longer. The breading was almost burnt. like right at the cusp of being burnt. The grilled mochiko chicken though! It was amazing. It was the perfect texture. They also serve it with this sauce that’s pretty bomb. Speaking of bomb, the potato mac salad is also quite good. Very fresh and tasty…
