We hired Aaron’s band Smooth Remedy for our wedding in Sept. through our wedding planner Lauren Smith (L4Love). They were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Loved their music! And they were super nice, and gave us equipment for karaōke without any charge.
Aaron and his group are super NICE people. They were not business-​like at all! Most vendors I worked with ask for contract and deposit money up front, but Aaron was super relaxed about it. And at our wedding, they stayed longer than we originally booked them for, and were just super chilled about it. Having them there was like having friends who were willing to get up and perform at the wedding. They really gave us that personal touch to the wedding! I am a singer and I even got up to sing with them improv.!!

Island Event Logistics are the BEST! For everyone on a budget who thinks that lighting is only for rich people, you’re wrong! I highly recommend Aaron and Shane. I wanted chandeliers for my wedding and they made my dream come true. Aaron and Shane both have day jobs, so they really just do this on weekends as a hobby for the love. They don’t charge by string of lights or by the lantern like other companies. Island Event Logistics is a small, passionate company that will give your event or wedding that extra impressive touch. We just told them what we wanted and they made it happen within our budget.
I got married at Lanikuhonua and I had a tent (outdoor wedding). Not only did they spend all day setting up and hanging gorgeous string lights under the trees in the pupu area, but they also let us use their beautiful handmade ceremony archway for the altar area. I didn’t think I could afford one. We also paid for Aaron and Shane to play live music. To our surprise, they brought their whole band (Smooth Remedy!) We were so impressed and happy with the music. I didn’t think I could afford live music.
Lastly, when it came time to clean up, Aaron and Shane brought their family and friends to help break down. When we found out that we couldn’t leave the tables and chairs on the lawn (nobody told us when we were breaking down!), their crew pitched in without a hestitation and made it happen. They were also picking up small pieces of trash off of the ground. THAT is how great they are.
I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this business to anyone getting married or having an event, indoors or outdoors. They’re amazing!

We got married on New Year’s Eve. Aaron, Kingsley and Shayne didn’t even blink an eye at giving up their New Year’s Eve to celebrate with us and our family/​friends. Island Event Logistics were extremely accommodating, they responded quickly to our phone calls/​emails, they had every thing ready to go and on-​time for our big day, Aaron was fantastic emcing our event, and they brought the coolest light up bar I had ever seen (all of our guests commented). But most importantly, not only did they deliver on our lighting and music needs — they exceeded our expectations. They are a real down to earth group, good hearted, and passionate about what they do — and it shows in the end product. We recommend them for your lighting, music, emcing and other wedding needs. If you dream it, they can make it a reality.

So, I’ll first start out by saying that during our 3-​month wedding planning process, music and lighting was the furthest from my mind. I had 3 months and I was so caught up in the photog/​video vendors and venues and diy ideas and all the hoopla with planning a wedding that I hadn’t even considered doing lighting. The few minutes I had spent looking into lighting was when I was first considering doing a outdoor wedding and when that was out of reach (after we decided outdoor was out of our budget and time frame of planning in 3 months), I actually forgot about it…
Then our wedding planner (look up L-​4 Love; AWESOME planner/​coordinator-​extraordinaire Lauren) was going over our list of things we need to tie up in the last 3ish weeks in the wedding and we still hadn’t booked an acoustic vendor for our ceremony. She mentioned Smooth Remedy but I thought a band was just too much for just a simple walk down a itty-​bitty grassy aisle. So after some youtubing, I decided I wanted 2 of the guys from the group to do acoustic for the ceremony and low and behold, Shane and Aaron are THE GUYS from Island Event Logistics! They weren’t on Unilocal at the time and since I hadn’t heard of them before, I had to fb-​research/​stalk their company (they have LOTS of photos on fb for you to check out) to see what kind of events they did. I was pleasantly impressed with their work and even MORE surprised at how reasonably priced they are. All the things we wanted fit PERFECTLY into our budget (which was slim to none in the last 3 weeks). Boy, was I grateful that Lauren recommended them!
You want rustic country feel? They give you that homey-​cozy country feel. You want upscale extravaganza? They give you the holy-moly-I-think-we’re-underdressed-for-this-party-kind of feel. Their work speaks for themselves and they have gone above and beyond for us. We had 3 weeks to figure things out and honestly, a very limited budget by the time we got them on board. They gave us a custom monogram that included my last-​minute design to include our dogs silhouettes in the monogram, they did pink/​teal lighting (which had to be adjusted that day courtesy of my «groomzilla» changing his mind after seeing the lighting being set up, sorry guys!) ANDDDDDD they did perform at our ceremony and at our makeshift cocktail hour. We were so last minute and made alot of requests and they never skipped a beat and stayed on top of every request and made everything happened perfectly.
Had i know about them earlier (well if my mind wasn’t so stuck on DIY projects and making my now-​husband happy thru every decision process), I would’ve allowed for more of a budget to let them do their bright ideas. They were TRULY amazing! They learned a bunch of songs (just to keep my now-​husband happy since he was BIG on the ceremony/​reception music) for our ceremony and cocktail hour, worked with ease with our wedding coordinator and my husband on the day of, never complained, always responded quickly to any communications and had design ideas within a day of my requests.
And of course, after they came back at the end of the night to pack up the lights, we come to find out, they know my husband’s brothers ANDDDD a bunch of people that came to our wedding. In typical Hawaiian fashion! Everybody knows everybody around here. So on top of the compliments we got for our food and decorations, we got complimented on hiring such a great group of guys and their great singing voices. They really made our day (or I should say, my husband’s big day) EXTRA special. Even last week, I ran into someone that came to our wedding and they were asking about if they could a copy of the songs these guys sang at our ceremony and reception! True story! TOTALLY made my husband’s day knowing that he made a song list, Aaron and Shane learned them in 3 weeks, and performed them so perfectly that our guests appreciated it AND still remember it 9 months later! seriously, these guys are truly truly truly awesome.
We still get compliments all these months later on the food, decorations, the lighting, the video, the music. And honestly… at a wedding, most people only remember the food (my husband at most weddings: «oh the buffet was junk!!! like hotel-​seminar-​kine food»), but to have them remember the music and the decorations and the lighting, you know that you had some special people making your day awesomely memorable. So BIG KUDOS to these guys for making our day so memorable to so many of our guests.
I’m not going to lie… I’m already thinking of the next big party we could possibly have that we can hire these guys again. maybe a first birthday? maybe a wedding re-​do? How about you guys just come over and do the lighting in our house and make it pinterest/​diy awesome? Yah, that sounds like a good idea ;) Thanks again guys for making our day SOOOOOOO SPECIAL!!!
