I absolutely love this place. Came in 3 times during my 1 week vacation in honolulu. They have a different band playing every night of the week and the bands were all consistently good. I would definitely order the ahi poke nachos if you are looking for some finger foods. It is off the beaten path, and the only reason i came here was because its right behind my hotel at the ala moana. A great find.

This is a great jazz club! Great, live music, and great food. If you like sashimi and/or poke, you MUST order their poke nachos. The nachos are made from fried wonton skins, topped with a mound of fresh, chopped ahi, drizzled in spicy, sriracha mayo and a sweet teriyaki sauce. It’s AMAZING!!!

we were here one foggy night(brain fog) — and we had a ball ! great music. fantastic atmosphere. AND, very, very delish martini’s. I tried one of every kind they make ! we danced our shorts right off– literally.(some cougar, pulled my shorts down on the dance floor) it was way too much fun. can’t wait to go back. sure NOT a typical tourist attraction !!!

The band playing and the drink make this place a go to if you want to listen to jazz and just relax.

Great location, clean, nice ambiance. A little warm when we initially arrived but it started to cool off quickly. Willow and her band the Hotclub Of Hula villa was fabulous. Drinks were delicious and refreshing!

The atmosphere was fantastic. It’s a very cull place. I went on the first Wednesday for Latin night and had a blast! The live band was great. I can’t wait to go back for a jazz band. This is a place where you can hang with friends and enjoy the music and vibe.

What a great crowd, drinks and food are delicious and the music and entertainment are just some of the reasons why I would go back here! If you have the cravings and you’re looking for a place to get a bite to eat, early or later in the evening, definitely this is the place to be. They have everything you crave for, they carry all the leading vodka brands, so you might as well go somewhere with great live entertainment with great service and full bar!

A buy me drinky bar masquerading as a jazz club. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes there is excellent live music. But the bar itself leaves something to be desired.

The only Jazz Club in Honolulu Hawaii, with the best of local & international musicians. by far the coolest, cozy, and classic place to go. Gotta Check it out, worthwhile.

I’m not a fan of this place maybe because it’s small, dark, poor taste of décor, limited drink selection and extremely limited parking space. I know they’re trying to help out the band that was playing that Friday night we went, but that $ 7.00 cover charge was totally not worth it. The $ 30 pitcher of lemon soju we had was basically a $ 5 bottle of soju mixed with some lemony juice and tons of ice. Service was slow although the place was not even packed. The night we went, there was a girl making out with a guy in the women’s room and the ladies in our group were not able to use the lady’s room for almost a straight 30mn. They should make sure stuff like that don’t happen. Despite all the negative, there was the fun part at the end of the night when Mama, who I assume is the owner of the business, went up on stage and brought down the house with her version of the Godfather song. She was good and the fact that she sang in her Korean accent English made it better. But if you’re looking for a small place to chill without a lot of drinking while listening to some live band playing(I don’t even know if the music they’re playing constitutes jazz. Maybe my kind of jazz is different.), I think this is prolly the place for you. There’s not a lot of places you could go for jazz music in Honolulu anyway.

Came here with 9 other people. Mama and the other people had to put some tables and chairs together so we could sit together. Cover charge on Friday’s are 7.00. Maybe it’s not just Fridays, maybe it’s everyday, I honestly don’t know. But I do know that it was 7 bucks on the friday night that I went. SPEAKINGOFCHAIRSANDTABLES. OMG. THEBIGROUNDCHAIRSARESOFT. It cradled my butt, I could’ve fallen asleep… .if it wasn’t for the bomb@ss music going on! I don’t remember who was playing the night I went, but I enjoyed it. The Mama let people sing, too. That was really cute! There’s a 2 drink minimum. I like their drinks, they weren’t too strong.(Still, alcohol does not sit well with me and on top of that I am a lightweight. I was definitely feeling it lol) If you want to go somewhere dark and comfortable and want to listen to some jazz music, you should come here. We caught a cab here so I don’t know how the parking is D: SO sorry guys!

If you need jazz any given evening come thru here. They are right next to the dodgy sex store. The food is not good so save your money. Beer selection is average but the service is not so bad. Been a few times and the last was the fund raiser. The owner is really religious and even tho she is nice, she needs to slow down with the god stuff. You will not only hear it but you will see its presence in the bathroom. Don’t forget people«gods watching…» so on your best behavior

I’m from the mainland, a big city where jazz is abundant and GOOD. So I really don’t want to sound off like a jazz snob. But but but. .. In the 4 days that I’ve been in Honolulu, tonight is my second time here. It’s official, I won’t be coming back, unless my friend(who just moved to the state and I will be visiting again), can assure me that the talent is worth hearing. My first visit here: We stopped in late on the way home. It was a Wednesday, so I couldn’t expect much. It was dead and so was the music. Middle aged Asian ladies essentially singing karaōke jams. $ 5 cover. Beer was decently priced. Waitress with giant breasts kept kneeling gratuitously, I thought in an effort to ‘work us.’ It feels cheap. Don’t do it ladies. Keep your dignity. We’re gonna tip you right. So this same woman recognized me tonight. She said, «you came on a good night, this band is great.» Well, great if you like being stuck in an elevator at the hip-hop factory who smells like she just slept with the Latin rhythm cucuy. This ain’t jazz man! Soooo disappointing. One lame-@ss cover song after another. Good god, almost feels like it panders to Midwest classic rock sensibilities. Thing is, I like the vibe here, great space, intimate setting, cool décor, so much potential. Just a serious lack of talent. Is it a booking problem, or so few jazz musicians on the island? Next time I’m just gonna go the the fu**in’ luau. Because that’s what Hawaii knows how to do right.

I’ve seen the Bentos here a bunch of times. Soooo much fun!!! Paying the door fee is totally worth it and what pays the band. The place has tons of plush seats to sit in. There are cocktail waitresses that come around and they also have food-including late night! The owner is a Japanese lady who is quite quirky and always very present and a big drinker.

I have only been here on Fridays when the Subtronic orchestra is playing. Cover is $ 10 and there is a 2 drink minimum. Only places i know that require drink minimums are strip clubs which kind of makes sense since this place is sandwiched in between a few of them. Sit at bar and you see two shows jazz playing and strippers coming out for a smoke break. Seating is hard to find but if you do hold on to it. Drinks are moderately priced and food is okay.

I heard about how great Jazz Minds is from my friends, but never had the chance to set into Jazz Minds and experienced it. Recently, fortunate to stop by and catch the bentos play starting at 9p.m. First off, I must say the Bentos are extremely talented band. I loved how the atmosphere was lively and fresh with a dance floor, comfy chairs, sofas along with food and beer. Even though the service was slightly slow, I didn’t mind since I was focused on the band playing. I will definitely check out Jazz Minds when different bands play on other nights. All in all, Jazz Minds is a perfect place for people who live in town and want to do something chill at night with friends. :)

Ok, stop what your doing because I am about to break it down. This place is awesome. the owners are adorable, the drinks are stiff, the food looks yummy, and the music… well it made my heart melt. Ususally, I am a dance machine/mover — jazz for some reason stops me in my tracks and I obcerve in awwwww. Amazing — enjoy.

One of the few places on the island where Jazz is alive and well! Beer = good. Mixed drinks = eh. Wine = no. But you will have a great time here. Check their schedule online for band performances! Door entry is $ 5-$ 10, varies per night. Be sure to stay a few hours to make your money worthwhile. :)

I’m gonna say this… the only reason I come back here every week is to see the band. R-U-N, who plays every Wednesday, is amazing. Everything else over here is overpriced, I’d say pregame if anything. The couches are comfortable, which is nice. Most of the waitresses are nice, my favorites are Felicia & this tall blonde bombshell(I don’t know her name), they really go out of their way to make you comfy! Mama San is… something else. Most of the time nobody understands what she’s saying and she’s very unpredictable. She likes to scold people with her Christian ways and she hates swearing. Whatever I guess.
