Joyce Shih has been teaching piano to all ages of students in East Oahu since 1964. For fifty years, the music lessons she provided have help to shape the character and intelligent development of present day community leaders. These students who are now doctors, professors, pharmacists, and musicians benefited from her love and appreciation of classical music. Joyce earned her classical piano degree from Taiwan National University. She has constantly upgrade her formal piano teaching skills by attending international festivals, such as Summer Academy at Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. Her philosophy for teaching is through the joy of learning classical piano to inspire creative thinking both for young and matured students, repetition of work of genius from the great masters creates a happy lifelong learning in whatever successful career one chooses.
