just like all the other L & S BBQ, dirty, rude service and bad food!

My co-workers and I were driving around in search of lunch, when I spied L & S BBQ’s grand opening 20% off special in it’s window. L & S is just another plate lunch place, with the usual BBQ chicken, fried shrimp, beef stew, and other local plate lunch standards. I went for the garlic shrimp because they had a huge picture of it up on the wall and on their sign outside, and it looked great. For $ 8.50, you get two scoops of rice, mediocre mac salad, and about 10 large headless shrimp with the shell on, sauteed in lots of garlic butter. It was delicious, and I was very happy with my choice. During lunch, the owner’s toddler son decided he was in love with me, and hugged my leg while making goo-goo eyes at me throughout my meal. It was very cute. Good to know I can still get the young ones. Back at the office after lunch, I was making a presentation(yes, with garlic breath, I know, I know) to a roomful of people, when my face began to itch. Then my neck started to itch, and then my scalp, arms, and torso. I felt little red, raised bumps pop up like mushrooms after a rain all over my face and neck. It was getting itchy! One of the attendees raised her hand and asked, «Uh, did you have shrimp for lunch?» «Why do you ask?» Everyone in unison: «You have hives!» I hadn’t had hives since I was a little kid, and I am not allergic to shrimp, or anything else. So I don’t know what to say about what happened that day. Was there something wrong with the shrimp? Was I allergic to something they added to the shrimp? I ate shrimp again(elsewhere) the next week and I was just fine, so I don’t know. Do I recommend L & S? Only if you don’t have to engage in public speaking immediately after eating there, just to be safe.
