These guys are the best. I was hit on my moped and had two surgeries. Came to these guys and they took care of everything for me. John Yamane was my lawyer and him and his crew were awesome. Highly recommended!

Seriously, Debra and Leavitt was awesome! So I went in for a consultation and I was intimidated by Leavitt’s height but as we sat and he talked, he was nice but professional and most importantly straight! No sugar coat! By this time I saw them, I spoke to 3 other lawyers that would not even try to take my case!
He was straight and still sympathetic. I was in a car accident and was hit in the back. I totally went over my PIP coverage and was still getting treatment for my back. How was I going to afford this?

During my 5 year stay in Hawaii as a mainland transplant I have had the pleasure of experiencing being rear ended twice. Both times the perpetrators were complete douchebags, so I had contacted LYS law. The first time I had Mr. Yamane, he was extremely aggressive and he would not stop until the opposing insurance had agreed to what he felt was fair. (I think he did a counter 3 – 4 times, then told them that we were going to go to trial) Settlement went well and I was able to pay for the thousands of treatment and car damages. I wasn’t a big fan of his paralegal, and I spoke with Mr. Yamane a lot more than I spoke with his assistants.
The second time around I went with Mr. Leavitt, since I adored Lori Mr. Leavitt’s paralegal who was so calming and nurturing on the phone during my intake. All hell broke loose at my workplace and with my life during the second car accident and long story short it ended with me quitting my job who I believe was extremely unprofessional and illegal in the way they harassed me about my medical appointments. Lori would listen to me sob about my frustrations about wanting to take the time off to get better yet wanting to keep my job. She is truly a gift as she talked me through what is most important, which was to take care of myself so that I could care for my child. The case came to a close a couple of months ago and through it all Lori had been so wonderful in following up with me as she found out new developments in the case.

I can’t say enough great things about Mr. Leavitt and his team. Debra, Reece and Mr. Leavitt all worked extremely hard and got my case settled. At the time of my accident I was an out of state student at UH and had no family on the island. They were there to help find me doctors to see, and helped me schedule physical therapy and other appointments. They were very professional in that they never made any promises, and they were very realistic and honest with me about what to expect as my case progressed. They were even nice enough to occasionally update my family and fill them in on what was going on. The settlement that they got me was fantastic and I’d recommend them to anyone in a similar situation.

I was in a rear end accident 9/2011.i lost my job due to the injuries. I called their paralegal, she was very unhelpful. I went though all my savings. Don’t let the commercials about how «nice» they are fool you. These attorneys are like all others… they care only about the bottom line; how much money they can make for themselves. I called for help because I am now physically handicapped due to the callousness of an orthopedic surgeon. The intake person was really nice and spent more than an hour on the phone with me getting all the information. She called later that day to inform me that Mr. Leavitt looked at it and said they weren’t interested. From what I got, they couldn’t make enough money, so the case is not worth their while. There is nothing about «caring» except for how much money they could make out of this. Meanwhile, I will probably be handicapped for the rest of my life.
