I wonder if there’s a way to opt out of getting this «paper» just for the environment’s sake. In fact, I rarely ever open this. If the girlfriend didn’t want it to read the few sparse ads, it would go right into recycling or on to H-​Power. Additionally, it’s now about as thick as the Star-​Bulletin, but is almost unreadable. I think the best thing it may be good for is stuffing the packages I send to the mainland or putting it under my cooked bacon and chicken katsu to soak up the oil. I do have to say that I’m digital media guy, but unfortunately I don’t find much value in this specific paper beyond the advertising dollars it’s generating to keep my free internet versions of the newspapers afloat.

The best part about this weekly newspaper? Columns from both Michelle Malkin and Arianna Huffington, the hated queens of conservative and liberal media.
The worst part about this weekly newspaper? We don’t get to see Michelle and Arianna get into a real cat fight cage match! (That would almost be as good as Bill O’Reilly and Keith Olbermann in a mud wrestling match… uh, on second thought, scratch that thought.)
I realize it’s only a weekly, but despite all the op-​eds from various people around the nation and islands from both sides of the political spectrum (something the dailies in Honolulu lack), this paper lacks any real investigative journalism.
For unfulfilled potential, Midweek gets 2 stars!
