FYI they only do sales by order. Don’t plan on going there and purchasing something without ordering it first. Wish I had known that before taking 20 minutes to find it then calling and finding out.

Paradise pastries did our 3 tier wedding cake that had 3 different flavors, Guava Guava, Guava Lilikoi, and Chocolate Raspberry. The cake was amazing and we had a custom design with fondant with each tier a skyline of a different city which we both lived in together Seattle, San Fran, and Hawaii. All our guests loved the design and the taste was even better than I expected. The guava lilikoi was everyone’s favorite and even after being in the freezer for a few months it was still moist. I recommend getting extra buttercream frosting on the side for a small extra fee because with fondant there isn’t as much buttercream frosting and you will definitely want more because it is so good. Thank you so much for such a great cake!

Honestly I picked this place to do my daughters birthday cake because I read a lot of good reviews but I regret picking this place. the taste testing was good, I picked the red velvet flavor because it tasted good. The cake came out nothing like I tasted on the day of taste testing. The cake looked really cute and nice but the frosting was so thick and cake was kind of dry. And it just really didn’t taste like the cupcake we had when we went taste testing, so I spent 230 $ for a horrible tasting cake when I could’ve spent a quarter of that for a waaaay better tasting cake at sams club.

This review is best on the design. I ordered the cake for my daughters cake smash photoshoot. It was exactly what I asked for with great price! Thank you

This is long overdue but I attended a wedding a few months ago and the cake was from this bakery. The cake was absolutely stunning. It was so beautiful that we felt bad eating it. But when we finally did, it was delicious. The perfect blend of coconut and pineapple in an airy, light, delicious, melt in your mouth, fantastic cake. I actually picked up this cake for a friend of mine due to an error but the owner of the establishment was so absolutely professional and so kind that I wanted to write this review.
I know it is hard to plan a wedding from afar. There are so many details and it is hard to do. However, if you are looking for a bakery, and you run across this site, you are done. You will not be disappointed, and neither will your guests.

Came here over the weekend to taste test several different wedding cake flavors and fillings. Your first taste test is free and you get to choose up to 5 combinations though I only tried 4. The location is difficult to find, it’s on the 3^rd floor of an older building behind Panda Express on S King st. I scored free parking on the street since it was a Saturday and walked over. I walked up the 3 flights of stairs but there’s an elevator I learned!
We knocked on the glass door and Bethany let us in a small, colorful room where she explained the taste testing process and gave us albums to look through of previous wedding cake designs the had done. We were able to taste each cake and discuss our opinions privately. 15 minutes later she returned and answered any questions we had. Bethany seemed very flexible in the services they could offer. I liked that their prices and samples are available on their website and they are very straight forward & honest when sharing their knowledge about cakes. We received a quote, left a deposit and will be back with a design to finalize our order.
So glad I found this place through Unilocal and will definitely update after the Big Day!

Paradise Pastries did the cake for my recent wedding! It was some of the best wedding cake I’ve ever had! We chose three layers: guava lilikoi, vanilla haupia, and double chocolate. I tried all three and they were all great. I did have a wedding planner to coordinate the details, but as far as I could tell, they arrived on time, the cake looked perfect, and I couldn’t have been happier!

I chose Paradise Pastries for my beau’s birthday cake because they were the most honest in my opinion. They have their price list on their website and you can already have an idea of what you’ll be spending based on the number of people you will be serving and/​or how many tiers (and how large) you want your cake to be. Beau never had a themed birthday party before, so it was very important for me to find someone who could accommodate all my requests. The theme was 80’s– so I wanted it to be silly and fun and nostalgic and bright and colorful and Paradise Pastries delivered.
The cake was a 3-​tier masterpiece with three different flavors and fillings. Top tier was pineapple cream and coconut, middle was chocolate with ganache and bottom (my favorite) was vanilla cake with guava cream. Now, she had an amazing red velvet that I wanted but beau preferred the other flavors as his top choices… I was disappointed in not forcing my hand on this one– but every time I plead my red velvet case, he goes off on this spiel how «red velvet should taste like cherries since it’s red– it’s a LYING cake– LIES LIES»… and that, my friends, is when you hold your tongue since you can’t reason with the crazy. When you make an appointment with her, she asks which flavors you’d like to try AHEAD of time so that those samples are ready for you at the meet. The office is in sort of a sketchy building but that matters very little. The room was nice and filled with books of pics of her work where you can get inspiration from. She presents the samples to you with a couple of forks and a bottle of water and leaves you to browse sans pressure. I saw most of those pics on the website but since I needed something random and specific amd unique at the same time, I didn’t dilly dally long.
I told her how many tiers I wanted, showed her examples from online that I liked and told her which elements were most important for me that she include. I told her my color preferences and characters that I wanted incorporated into the cake and i (along with birthday beau and his guests) were stunned at the end product. I was soooo happy at the reaction it got from beau and the guests. The tiers had the ninja turtles popping out of a manhole and batman logo with marshmallow man and stars and star wars, Thundercats and he man and boomboxes and cassette players and Simon says and care bear and rainbow and cloud and bright vivid colors and back to the future– all sitting on an edible original nintendo game console system. GO TO PARADISE PASTRIES IF YOU WANT AN AWESOME CAKE. Don’t be shy about telling them what you want– that makes it easier for them to know what feel you’re going for. Great service and communication. I paid via PayPal and my masterpiece came out to $ 315 with all the decorations, tiers and tax and delivery. It was worth every penny. Had I been less elaborate, it would have been nearly $ 80 less… but I could not have been happier. Thank you, paradise pastries!

I set up a tasting and we liked the flavors we tried so we ordered our wedding cake here. We had a three layer cake with 3 different flavors. All of it was popular at the wedding. I would suggest having someone who has cut a layered cake before slice up the servings. Paradise Pastries gave us a handout on how to slice it, but with the dowels in it, pulling it apart was a little messier than I expected. No big deal overall because it still taste the same.

I was flying to Hawaii from NY for my boyfriends birthday when I decided last minute I wanted to get him a nice custom cake to make his birthday that much more special. Five days before the big day, I searched all of Unilocal for the best cake bakeries in the area. I called multiple bakeries and this was the only bakery who was able to take my order since it was so last minute. Bethany responded immediately via phone and email. I told her what I wanted and she sent me something similar they made in the past. I told her what I wanted done differently and I was a little nervous to see the final result, since it was not only a surprise for my bf but for me as well! I originally told her to deliver the cake at 5pm. When I landed the day of the delivery, my bf informed me we were going to a luau at 4:30. I freaked out and emailed Bethany right away my situation and asked if I can get it delievered in her earlier delivery service at 2pm. She informed me that it was no problem and will be left at the concierge. When I got to the hotel, the conceige informed me the cake was there. They told me I had to take a peek at the cake and every worker at the resort was so blown away and asking where I got it from. The cake was absolutely PERFECT and they couldn’t have done a better job. She took every small detail I told her I wanted and delivered it exactly how I imagined it. I am a perfectionist and did not expect it to look so good. My entire experience with them from start to finish exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this bakery and can’t wait to order something else next time I’m in the Honolulu area!!!

Paradise Pastries made our wedding cake and a friend’s birthday cake. The flavors we had were red velvet with cream cheese filling; coconut cake with pineapple filling; guava cake with guava filling. All of them were so delicious! The fruit flavors were not too sweet which was our concern. They were so different from what you get on the mainland. I highly recommend this place. They delivered our cake early and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. So beautiful

I called them for my daughters first birthday cake. She was very easy to work with. I did a tasting and come to my surprise, it was free of charge. The cakes I tasted were AMAZING! I will definitely hire her again for any custom cakes.

Working with Paradise Pastries was so easy to do, even though I am from out of state. I sent them a photo of what I had envisioned my cake to look like, and they had duplicated the one I had in the photo! It was perfect! We were all stuffed from our reception dinner, but everyone in our party ate every last bite of the cake… yummm…

This was worst cake I’ve ever had at a wedding. This was my wedding in December 2014. The layer served at the reception was chocolate/​chocolate. The cake tasted like a Berry Crocker mix. The butter cream icing was no good… almost no flavor… tasted like artificial ingredients. The cake fell apart when serving. Not one single piece looked nice on the plate. No one at the reception wanted a second piece of cake. The day after the wedding, we tried the top layer of the cake, lemon/​lemon, but just three it in the garbage because it did not taste good. We payed $ 200 for about 10 real serving size pieces of cake. The cake looked nice but there is nothing else positive with my experience with Paradise Pastries.

It’s very convenient to communicate with Bethany via emails since day one. We had a destination wedding in Hawaii and live in California so contacting vendors via emails wasnt that easy with most vendors in Hawaii. However Bethany is really good at responding your emails back right away and she tried to accommodate me as much as she can. They offered free cake tasting which is a plus and the wedding cake turned out even better than our cake tasting samples. The guests kept talking about how our wedding cake was moist and delicious. I didn’t have a chance to eat my meal during my wedding reception but I got to try the cake and it tasted great and not too sweety as I wanted. Thanks so much Bethany for all your patience and help.

The BEST wedding cake I have ever had! I don’t usually eat cakes. But, I am currently at Brian and Katie’s wedding in Hau’ula and devouring the cream cheese cake and it is divine!

Paradise Pastries did a wonderful job on our wedding cake and cupcakes. Working with Bethany and Charity was easy and efficient, and they provide good quality, value and customer service.
PP offers free tastings and lets you choose 5 combinations of cakes, fillings and flavors. I couldn’t understand why they offer free tastings but I’ve determined it’s because they focus on what they are good at — making delicious cakes. From what I’ve seen, they don’t advertise, and they don’t make money off of tastings — their cakes sell themselves. The samples were generous too — they were about the size of a cupcake, so you can truly try and enjoy each combination.
PP is located behind the Panda Express at the corner of King and Kaheka streets, in an unsuspecting building.
Choosing PP was easy for us after only one other (paid) tasting. We booked them a year before our wedding. When it came time to finalize our order a few months before the wedding, we worked over email to finalize the look of the cake (a small 2-​tier cake for my husband and I) and the full order itself (13-​dozen cupcakes). The vision for the cake was executed beautifully.
After we had made a final payment, PP told us know they were issuing us a small refund because they had charged us at the 2014 cupcake prices which had increased slightly since we booked in 2013. I would never have known we were overcharged, so I appreciated this.
Their prices are comparable to what you’d pay at a cupcake store or bakery. They are about $ 3.50 each. Another plus — PP takes credit cards, which I know sounds crazy to even have to mention that in 2014, but we had a few wedding vendors who only took cash or check.
The cake is moist and buttercream is light and fluffy. We chose these combos:
–Chocolate cupcakes, white chocolate cream cheese filling, vanilla buttercream icing
–Butter yellow cupcakes, chocolate ganache filling, chocolate buttercream icing
–White cupcakes, guava buttercream filling, vanilla buttercream icing
We have gotten RAVE reviews from our wedding guests. Everyone I talked to wishes they had taken more cupcakes (we had some leftover). In what might be the most telling review of all, one of my very particular relatives told me it was the best cupcake she had ever had in her life. To know this relative and hear this review is to know that these cupcakes were truly amazing!
If I ever need cupcakes or a small cake again, I’ll call PP first. In fact, I’ve already placed a cupcake order for a birthday in 2 weeks, and my mom has requested more guava cupcakes for her birthday in October.

Baby Einstein themed cake, some toppers were from another person but the actual cake, flowers, grass, balls and Lukas part is from here. From the taste sampling to the pick-​up, everything was done right. She gave us a wide variety of cakes and fillings to try which made our choosing very easy. I mean you just know when you’ve tasted something awesome. We went with a lilikoi (passion fruit) and Haupia (creamy coconut) filling w/​white cake. It was moist, tangy, creamy and not too sweet. I thought it was one of the best cakes I’ve ever eaten. The top layer we went with pineapple which I had too and was also super good but I just cant get my mind off the lilikoi/​haupia! Yes, that good! Anyway she did a good job in the consultation and accommodated our requests without attitude. My sons First Birthday Cake turned out fabulous it wasn’t just pretty to look at it was delicious too!

I just got married on Valentines day & had a nice small intimate wedding. We went around and got quotes for a 3 tier cake but weren’t satisfied. I found Paradise pasteries on Unilocal & saw that they had really good reviews. A month and a half before the wedding, I called them & made an appointment for a cake tasting. Which they do not charge for. I called another place that wanted to charge $ 25 for a cake tasting!
I spoke to Bethany over the phone & she was really helpful. She told me to choose 5 flavors. I tried Vanilla w/​Strawberry, Carrot w/​white choc cream cheese, Banana w/​Butter cream, Red velvet w/​ganache, & chocolate w/​buttercream. When I got there I was skeptical because it was a old apartment looking building, but when I got inside it was really nice & clean. Bethany had cup cake sized cakes ready in a take out box with the flavors written down, forks & water bottles ready. She gives you your own personal space & time & isn’t all up in your face while trying the cake. Bethany is wonderful! She’s easy to work with, professional, & gets back to you in a timely manner. After trying the cakes I knew they were the one! We got the 4,6,9 round 3 tier for $ 240! I told her how I wanted the cake & that I trusted her. I wanted a Dark purple, 3 tier, simple cake with peonies, roses, & butterflies since that was our theme. The cake was delivered to our reception. When we arrived to our reception, I saw the cake and was amazed. :)
Paradise Pastries makes beautiful, good tasting cakes and their prices are very reasonable! I was very happy with our cake & I highly recommend them!

One of the easiest and best decisions we made for our wedding was choosing this place for our cake. We looked at all the other local bakeries and this was by the far the best tasting cake we tested. Not to mention the most reasonably priced cake as well. We got a 4″, 6″, and 8″ round cake with buttercream frosting ad it was only $ 250! All our layers were different flavors and delicious! Everyone at the reception raved about the cake, and even took home leftovers.
For reference, we got red velvet for the top layer, butter cake with mango and passion fruit purée for the middle, and vanilla cake with strawberry cream & strawberry purée for the bottom. So yummy!
