Piano Lessons with Nanae

Thank you, Unilocal,for helping me find Nanae when I was looking for my first ever piano teacher! Nanae was my piano teacher for (only) 8 months (sad face). She is such a warm and nice person; I immediately felt relaxed and comfortable with her. I was heartbroken when she announced that she would be moving to another state!
I really appreciated that she pushed me to do my best, but not in an overwhelming way. She understood when I wasn’t able to practice as much as I usually do because of school, work, etc. She’s excellent at gauging how much you know about music. We quickly reviewed things I already knew due to previous musical experience and spent enough time on new things that I had to learn. Nanae even gave me tips on how to pick out my first piano and told me about some iPad apps that I could use to help practice reading music. She was very organized and knew her stuff.
I am SO glad that Nanae was my first piano teacher. I’m sad to be looking for another teacher but will forever carry what she taught me. Nanae inspired me to follow my passion for music. I’ll miss you, Nanae!

There are two kinds of teachers in this world:
1) Ones who teach to live
2) Ones who live to teach
Miss Nanae is the latter and someone I’ve really come to appreciate as my children’s piano teacher. A classically trained pianist, Miss Nanae is not only passionate about her instrument but she’s equally as devoted to her students. During our time with Miss Nanae she came to our house weekly for private lessons and I’ve been extremely happy with their progress. She challenges them while still making it fun via games and stickers. I WISH I had Miss Nanae as my piano teacher when I was growing up! My son is a very talented piano player but can become easily frustrated. Rather than push him so he doesn’t enjoy piano, she let him play easier pieces to help give him the confidence to move forward with joy.
In addition to our lessons, my children have recitals where they play their pieces in front of Miss Nanae’s other students and families. I think this is really important to a student’s progress because what’s the point of learning an instrument that you don’t play in front of others.
Unfortunately Miss Nanae is moving to San Diego so we won’t be able to take lessons with her. She’s probably more than the average teacher, but in this case you really do get what you pay for. I always tell my children that music is the gift you keep forever so do your children a favor and buy them the gift of lessons from Miss Nanae! She’s worth every penny!

I feel like I totally lucked out by finding Nanae. She is a WONDERFUL teacher. She creates a comfortable learning environment, is very positive and encouraging, and needless to say – a super talented pianist and musician. After every lesson, I definitely feel like I’ve progressed and motivated to practice. My lessons with Nanae are one of my favorite times of the week!

I looked on Craigslist for a piano teacher for my 8 year old daughter and came across Nanae. She has her own website detailing her experience and education and I was impressed. Also I found her rates to be reasonable. I chose Nanae because I could see that she sincerely enjoys piano and teaching piano to children and it shows each week during my daughter’s lessons. My daughter has taken piano from Nanae since August and from day 1, she hasn’t lost interest and she is showing improvement each week. At first her lessons were 30 minutes but she soon asked for longer sessions. My daughter absolutely loves Nanae and looks forward to her lessons!

When I started looking for a private instructor to teach my 4.5 year old daughter, I came across Nanae. I reviewed her website, watched her videos and determined that I liked what I saw. I emailed her that evening and she responded promptly. I liked that. We scheduled her lesson and Nanae even offered to help us pick out a piano; Which we took her up on and the piano guy even gave us a discount and delivered/​setup for free! Our daughter has only had 2 lessons with Nanae but in those 2 lessons, Nanae has managed to spark her interest in playing and kerp her interest in piano. My daughter does not «grumble» when I tell her that she has a lesson, in fact she starts asking me in the morning «when is my teacher coming?» And when her lesson is over, my daughter says «I wanted her to stay longer»
Nanae is very professional and knows how to teach a child to keep their interest and I hope my daughter will have the ability to play piano as she does!
