Helping out with the rummage sale @ Kuhio school was A blast. all the volunteer and staff was crazy fun laughter that I almost peed my pant’s. This rummage sale started off a little quiet but once I got to know everyone it was off the hook lol
At the end of the day I was ask if I would like to help out with the Multicultural Arts and wellness fair that was at the end of May so I said sure with all the fun I had i’m sure it would be a blast again.
As the end of the month got closer I got more excited about the fair because of all the fun i had the last time I got all my thing ready for that day.
The day of the multicultural arts and wellness fair I got there and everyone was setting up so many different cultural it was so crazy but organize pretty awesome lol
as I started to set up all the volunteer and staff came by to help me set up my tent and table’s and made sure all my things was set up before they went to help out the others. when the event started all the friendly volunteer and staff came by to help out with my tent because it was busy. The volunteer made sure I was staying hydrated because it was a really hot day. they also made use I had something to eat. wow what a friendly atmosphere .
If I was living in the area I’m sure that I would love for my daughter to attend Kuhio school. know that they have friendly volunteer and staff

UGH… I have so many bad experiences with this school, where do I start???
First of all, my son just started Kindergarten here in August ’11 and I had high hopes and great expectations (being that my child will be attending this school). From the beginning, things have been out of order!!! My son started off the FIRST SCHOOL YEAR OF HIS LIFE WITHOUT A KINDERGARTEN TEACHER. The school had NO answers for any of the parents and kind of just left us hanging for days. Their excuse was that there were too many students enrolling into Kindergarten this year. my thought was DONT YOU HAVE ENROLLEMENT AND HEAD COUNT HOW MANY INCOMING STUDENTS THERE WILL BE??? After over a month, we finally get word that our 20 something kids will finally have a permanent teacher. Talk about having to re adjust our kids to a NEW teacher and starting all over with the learning and lesson plans.(Keep in mind we are talking about Kindergarteners).
Second, they are quick to start fundraisers that is a total sham!!! September 2011 they have a fundraiser that we purchase things from a catalogue. These were things that were mostly Christmas related like (gift tags, wrapping papers, christmas cookie cutters etc etc) and I had made a couple purchases totaling over $ 50 worth. Lets see… September ends and im still waiting for my purchases, October ends and nothing yet, November approaches and nothing… But the first week of December comes and I finally get word that our items are in!!! I go to pick them up and all i receive is the prize toys (1 silly putty and a red laser light). I ask where are my items that i purchased??? My answer is «oh no, it happened to you too». I guess they forgot to send my items but remembered to cash my check. So i was told that they were gonna contact the company to have my items shipped 2 day air. I said ok. just enough time for christmas… Well christmas passes and I still havent gotten anything. I am thinking to myself what idiots!!! I called and called over christmas break for some kind of answer and i was told i would get a refund… January starts and I finally get my things… ONLY TO RECOGNIZE THAT I WAS MISSING ITEMS PURCHASED! «OMG» So over it already. So I let the school know my problem and they say just bring everything back and we will refund your $$$. Long story short, IT DOES NOT TAKE 3+ WEEKS TO CHECK TO SEE THAT YOU MADE A MISTAKE. IT DOES NOT TAKE 3+ WEEKS TO REFUND MY $ THAT YOU WERE SOOOO QUICK TO WITHDRAWL FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT! IT DOES NOT TAKE 3+ WEEKS TO GIVE ME A DAMN STRAIGHT ANSWER!
Come on Kuhio school… Snap out of it and realize you guys have screwed with my $$$ on more than one occasion. I am so frustrated with this school, I am reconsidering transferring my child to Hokulani.
