Okay… Well let’s begin with the fact that I’ve been über-​frustrated with my the very nice Pioneer car stereo that was in my FJ, which was actually TOO fancy for me. DVD player. Navigation. Etc. All I wanted was something that worked well and had dependable Bluetooth technology and was easy to use without reading a thick manual. I was referred to this amazing place and I’ll tell you I’m so glad I acted on my instinct to head over there immediately. I spoke with Kent & Ward and they were both so helpful while also not being pushy at all. Just super knowledgeable and friendly. I like that. I left and thought about what I wanted and returned on Friday 30 Oct and they had the Pioneer App Play in stock that I wanted! They were able install it 24 hours later and I must say my sound in the car has never been better. My phone connects immediately and I can listen to my iTunes and make calls in a pinch. And it’s really clean looking. This place is the BOMB. THANK YOU KENT!!!

Brought in my old subwoofer/​amplifier from my old car to see if they can install them into my new car for me. Labor was higher due to not buying products from there but price was still acceptable. I didn’t make an appointment I just went in and talked to Kent and he was able to squeeze my job in and get it done that day. I went to the shop at around 10am and got the car done by 4:30pm. (without an appointment or reservation so that was pretty impressive) Kent also gave me a ride to work and that was great too. I decided to also install reverse cameras from here since my deck had that function. The job was done professionally, cables are neatly organized and hidden.

I bought a car stereo speaker package from Kent last October (Focal speakers, Pioneer Carplay unit, JL Audio Subwoofer, Viper security system) and it hasn’t disappointed me one bit. Although I went over my budget, I have not regretted it as Kent gave me a great needs assessment and the installation/​service was excellent. I will definitely recommend this establishment to my friends and family. Thanks Kent for the great car audio system!

When you’re a senior citizen driver, sometimes you need a little technology to assist you… So I brought my Dad to see Kent at Security & Sound Systems. We explored options with assistive parking devices such as a rear view camera system or beeping sensors. Kent was super patient with my Dad, showing him camera options and letting him listen to the backup sensors’ beeping sounds to be sure he could hear them. He then took a look at my Dad’s car, and was more patient while we found the manuals (hiding in a secret compartment) and figured out the password for the existing stereo system. Password? Who knew it even had one!!!
It took a while for Kent to do the research to see if the car was able to accommodate a rear-​view camera system. Darn, it was one year too old. So we chose the next best option – both back up and front beeping sensors. It didn’t sound like that was going to be terribly easy, either, due to there being a trailer hitch on the rear bumper. Never mind, Kent & his guys took care of it.
Kent went above & beyond the call of duty when working on Dad’s car, too. I might get in trouble if I tell you what he did, but let me just say, best customer service ever! If you need stereo or security work done on your car, check out the S & S website:
I’ve seen some pretty fancy cars go into Kent’s shop… but he’s not above working on my cheap American car either (yes, you CAN get Apple CarPlay from S & S :-)).
It’s easy to support local small business when I can’t think of anyone nicer than Kent!

They are not available during working hours. I called when they opened and no answer. I visited the shop at 9 am on Saturday and no one was there. I waited for 20 minutes and called several times before finally leaving. Oh well, I will take my business elsewhere.

I have a mobile personal training business so my car is basically my office. I was thinking of upgrading my stereo, so I can talk on the phone while driving and of course I wanted a nicer updated stereo since my current system was a little outdated. I checked out Security and Sound Systems because of a word of mouth referral from another member of a networking group I belong to. I drove to the location and spoke to owner Kent Izuka, checked out the installers, and noticed that their work area was clean and organized (those were all selling points… I now knew I wanted them to do the work for me). I currently live off of my iPhone6 for business and personal reasons and Kent recommended a new Alpine that was specifically compatible with an Apple phone. I also added a carriage holder that holds my phone… while all the functions on my phone is accessible on the touchscreen Alpine stereo on my dash. I love it!!! Now I enjoy driving my office daily and the music is so clear and sharp. Also, talking on the bluetooth phone is so clear and functional too. The quality of the product is exceptional, the professional installation was so AWESOME, and their CUSTOMER SERVICE is second to none. When you meet the whole staff, you just know they are professionals of their trade.
My first experience was so GREAT, I went back and added a laser jammer in my sports car… so far no speeding tickets! Installation again looks amazing and clean.
I would highly recommend Security & Sound Systems to work on your car!

To me, the time I know when a shop has a good customer service or not is when I have something to complain. I had a complaint about something that most of the people would not even notice. Kent handled it so well. He didn’t argue with me at all. He did exactly what I asked for. I actually was surprised how much of a good customer service this shop has, I had to think of anything else I can buy from them.
Some of my friends tell me that this place sets the appointment kind of far away and the price is high compared to the other places they know, but I’d rather wait longer and pay more for their service. I will have the piece of mind that they’ll take care of everything if I ever have a problem.

Great store. gotten alarms for all my cars here. Owner Kent always has great prices on alarm and stereos. Installers are also very professional, clean, and know how to work on even the newest cars. Highly recommend.

They have great customer service and are very knowledgeable in everything they sell. They were able to answer all of our questions and made us confident in their abilities to do the job. We had a DVD system and backup camera installed in one day and our kids could not be happier!

Kent and his crew did a fantastic job getting me set up with the right sound system for me. They worked with me until I was completely satisfied. The system is fantastic, really enjoying it!

Updating my review because I went in after a couple of years after my initial stereo installation and these guys are as awesome as I remember! They were able to fit me in the same day I called, was very PATIENT and KNOWLEDGEABLE about my situation, and got it solved that same day! Cant thank them enough!

This place is amazing. I have a 2002 Toyota Solara and a CD got stuck in the original CD player. I removed the old CD player with cassette attached and bought a new one. Sadly, I decided to buy the new one from Walmart. The radio quality with the original Toyota deck was great and this one has far less quality, even though its Sony.
I needed an adapter to connect the wires from my car to the new CD deck, and Walmart carried several different ones except the one I needed. I called Security & Sound and Kent checked their stock and they had what I needed.
I rushed down there the next day and bought it, and Kent mentioned since they tried the adapter for another car but it was the wrong one, the bag was opened so he gave it to me for a discount. Great customer service… but after an hour of wrestling with all the connections and having a friend check it out, it still wouldn’t work. I went back to S&S and eventually the employees realized what happened. The specific wires were moved to different locations so after the employee (sorry, forgot his name) helping me put the wires back in the correct spots, the radio worked!
After I drove home I finished putting everything into place and putting the dashboard back on. Security & Sound also sells CD players, dash dvd players, speakers and subwoofers. If I could change time, I would definitely buy a CD player from S&S instead. Even though its a bit more, I could tell they carry quality products.
Their selection of speakers is also amazing. They have different sizes/​shapes to fit any trunk or truck cab. While I was there, a customer actually pulled his car in to their shop area and Kent brought out 4 different subs. The customer tried each one and narrowed it down then Kent suggested 2 or 3 other ones.
Great products, great customer service and a convenient location. Overall, this is my go-​to shop anytime I have audio or alarm needs.

I would highly recommend that before you choose any company to install a security alarm or sound system you meet with the guys at Security & Sound Systems. I had the pleasure working with Kent. Kent was able to help me understand my options and what I needed with my sound system. They customized a system made for my car and also enhanced any existing technology that my car already had. With the amount of drive time I have each day, it makes it more enjoyable with my custom sound system.

I stopped by after work, around 4:30, just to check out the prices of some of the recievers because I wanted to get something in the future. Kent was extremely helpful and explained the differences in all of the products they carried by what I was looking for. He literally broke it down Barney style for me.
They ended up having an opening to do an install right before they closed so I jumped on it. They knocked everything out in about half an hour. It was past closing time by the time everything was finished but Kent stayed around to walk me through each and every control and setting. On top of that he recoded my Viper alarm for me so it locks automatically when I forget to do it myself.
I spent a lot more than I had budgeted but I am extrememly satisfied with the product and the customer service that was provided.
If you need anything that has to do with car audio or security, this is the place!

Kent is an honest and sincere man. He explains what you need to know, and his team completes the job in less time then mentioned. He was nice enough to adjust the price slightly because I had all the accessories from Crutchfield included.
Personally, I feel that there should be consideration for a very modest discount for those installing two pairs of speakers, rather than one pair. However, I paid for quality work, and I received it. I’m definitely a satisfied customer.

They were recommended by a good friend. I called and they were able to get me in the same day, even though it would take me a hour to get there from the west side.
Presented me with several options and didn’t try to push high price items only. The service and installation quality was superb! When finished, I learned about the operation and unit settings.
This is a top notch installation, you would never know it was a replacement or upgraded system. I would highly recommend them for quality and quick service.
You can always find something cheaper, but you get what you pay for and if looking for highly professional service and treatment, this is the place to go !!

Kent is one of the most up-​and-​up guys around. Got my Viper installed there a few months back. Kent went through all of the options (and there are a lot!) as well as pricing and basically trying to understand what you, as the customer, want/​need in your system… and then recommending the system that gives you the best bang for your buck, based on your wants/​needs.
He’s a straight-​shooter… as many people in other reviews will attest to, he doesn’t pitch you on things you don’t need or try to upsell you everything on his pricelist. In fact, quite the opposite — he’ll tell you which things aren’t the best deal and explain why he typically wouldn’t recommend them. He simply provides the knowledge and expertise to help you make the most informed decision possible.
At the end of it all, I did spend more than I originally budgeted. I got the Viper alarm w/​remote start w/​SmartStart (mobile app) and w/​GPS. I have not been so pleased going OVER BUDGET on a large expense before. And I couldn’t be happier with the system.
Trust all the 5-​star reviews… they don’t lie! Hands down… best on the island!!!

Had a great experience with this place from beginning to end. Bought a new car, and I wanted an alarm system installed. Found this place on Unilocal and the reviews were a hit. Called in around 4:30, and Kent was able to take me even though they close at 6:00pm. I run on a tight schedule, so I’m happy when a shop is able to take last minute walk ins. The customer service here was awesome, Kent’s a really cool guy, and kept me pretty entertained for the two hours that the techs were working on it.
He was very knowledgeable, explained the different types of alarms and options available. Gave honest feedback as to what I needed and didn’t need. I liked that. After the technicians were done, he spent a good 20 minutes explaining how the alarm works… for beginners like me. Outstanding customer service and loving my alarm till this day.

Girlfriend bought me a $ 500 Viper alarm system plus installation for my birthday. Setting up an appointment was a breeze. Kent overcharged her credit card by mistake but offered to hook up our alarm system to our car horn (to make the alarm even more obnoxious — I’m ’bout it — don’t gotta ask me twice) for free as an apology. Wasn’t too surprised as I already knew Kent gives wonderful customer service.
Car was ready to pick-​up in the afternoon after dropping it off the morning of the appointment and the crew explained thoroughly all the functions and features upon arrival.
