Hands down my favorite Starbucks that I’ve ever been too. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Not even the Starbucks in my hometown was this friendly. Service is pretty snappy here. No more than 3 – 5 minutes at max. The quality of the drinks here are top notch and that gets me coming back almost every single day now. Gold card here I come ;)

Hands down my favorite Starbucks!!! I come here almost everyday and everyone knows me by name. As soon as I walk through the doors I’m instantly greeted. Everyone is so friendly and efficient. I always order the same drink but if I feel like trying something different, they are so patient to accommodate me. If you want to sit and enjoy your Starbucks you can also go outside where there is an amazing view of the water. Win win!!!

Okay, I’m breaking my own rule and giving large corporation a review! A decent review to boot, too! How’s that? Yup, «Mr. Radical– livin’ la vida loca– independent– locomoco bruddah– champion of small business– RL Dylan McKay– pretty woman’s other brother– small wave surfer– renaissance da man– yada yada– da mista who loves your sista…» Ahem. I, Eric Robert, did not sellout, however I’m still giving a decent review to a mega-large mainland corporation… STARBUCKS @ HAWAIIKAITOWNECENTER! So, ummm, why? Well, for one I’ve been here maybe a dozen times(secretly) and not once have I been rudely treated. I’ve read the latest reviews and simply had to interject some positivity to this location! Is it the best Starbucks I’ve been to? Nope. Not close. Is it the biggest Starbuck’s I’ve been to? Nope. Quite tiny. Is it the fanciest Starbuck’s I’ve been to? Nope. Average. So, ummm, why the good review? Well, let me ask you this… What do YOU expect every-time you walk into a Starbuck’s? Ass kissing? The best coffee evar? Expecting the baristas to craft something especially for you… Because you’re beyond special? If you expect«that» and feel you should be the next Starbucks Prom Queen then well… Keep on walking because you’ll get the typical Starbucks stuff here… Coffee, Teas, baked bites, service with/without a smile, but when all is said and done it’s usually efficient enough and okay. It’s smaller, but café tables are usually available inside, or outdoor tables just outside — that’s if you don’t mind walking six steps. Not sure why this location gets a bad rap with some. Well, I guess I don’t expect much when I walk in. It’s just me. My approach to life. Be positive, be happy, and get off that high«Maka Maka» pedestal… You ain’t all that! *slap* STARBUCKS @ HAWAIIKAITOWNECENTER! I’m usually here if meeting my BFF who lives up the road. We used to meet at Island Brew Coffeehouse quite a bit, but lately the consistency has been going down hill, and quite frankly the dude with the curly hair is a pervert! Ew. So, by default, this location became our rendezvous spot to catch-up on life and stuff… She drinking her standard unsweetened green tea latte and me whatever I fancy. Sometimes we’ll grab some baked goods too. Hey, it’s a corporate coffee shop. Stop expecting to be ass-kissed, yo! Sadly, I haven’t been here in awhile due to my BFF being so busy with life, work, and her lovely family, but when she needs me… She’ll call… She knows. And of course, I’ll be there for her, livin’ la vida loca lifestyle put on hold, sipping my secret corporate Starbucks drink, saving our favorite table, but shhhh… Starbucks ain’t perfect, but we should all know what to expect when we walk in, right?! A liberal coffee shop that offers tasty drinks & bites. Don’t expect the world here — If so, run for office! Keep calm. Gosh I miss my BFF and that’s RL… *tear* OVERALLGRADE: 4.0-STARS! Breakfast sandwich was not heated through! Ever ate a muffin sandwich that was half hot and the other half cold? Also, no sauce, no cheese, no taste! MacDonalds and Burger King need not worry about Starbucks food offerings. Perhaps Starbucks should stick to coffee, like offering their Clover brew at all of their location”

This Starbucks is pretty standard… came in for an extra hot venti Tirmasu latte… which I usually get at Kahala. Just came from Costco — actually bribed myself to go to costco with a tiramisu latte reward after the shopping trip. It was super hot today, so I was tempted to grab an iced teavana tea when I stepped in… but gotta stick to my regular deliciousness that I had been thinking about the whole time I was in Costco. I was not disappointed. It was hot, slightly sweet, topped with whip and cocoa powder. Baristas were nice and sweet girls, moving the line and pushing out the drinks. Cashier even suggested I try the coconut milk — hmmm, she may just tempt this creature of habit to try something new. I really wanted an iced tea after! BYOC: Didn’t know that they give you 10 cents off if you bring in your cup…

Two stars due to my basic requirements not being met consistently at this particular store. How hard is it to keep raw sugar and regular milk(i hate half n half and skim) stocked at the table thing. Also, teavana teas suck compared to tazo! Would be nice if the tea flavors were clearly in view for non coffee drinkers to see, but alas, not at this store. Its about time starbucks serves small, medium, and large drinks. I never have and never will use those pompous names they use for drink sizes!

I love coming to this Starbucks when I’m in the area because it hardly ever has a line and the baristas are always so friendly and quick about getting their thirsty patrons’ orders out. If you come by often enough the baristas are also quick to remember you and your order, especially if you tend to order the same thing all the time like I do — there’s definitely no shame in my Starbucks game. My favorite is an iced green tea lemonade which is both refreshing and gives me that caffeine kick I need in the afternoon. I can almost always find seating both inside and outside of this location and the strong wifi signal is a definite plus!

This store suffers by comparison to Aina Haina and Koko Marina. If you can, go to one of those instead.

Standard Starbucks. Friendly staff. I ordered a tall iced coffee and raspberry crumble. There is limited seating but plenty of outlets for studying. Free wireless internet. The one issue I had was the bathroom was nowhere near, which was weird given that they serve caffeinated beverages. Caffeine=diuresis=lots of pee. Would come here again if I was in the Hawaii Kai area.

This Hawaii Kai Town Center location is a nice neighborhood shop. Although the area is busy with traffic from Costco and City Mill this shop is a little oasis of cool air conditioning. You can sit inside or outside watching the clouds drift over the back of Hahaione Valley and enjoy the nice trade breeze that flows off the neighboring ridge. Or, you can opt for a shaded table in the back right next to the water and relax you eyes at the sight of commercial recreational water vehicle, private boats, canoe paddlers, and even stand up board paddlers going in or out of the marina. The space is large enough to accommodate couples but not so large that groups take over the available seats. Being a smaller shop there is no private restroom. A lot of people opt to take out their beverage and enjoy the marina. Though the employees change regularly I have found them consistently courteous and welcoming. I would definitely choose to stop here instead of the busier store at Koko Marina — more parking nearby and less tourists.

Good little spot to meet friends. Usually there is a line but they are pretty efficient. Always get my order correct which is awesome. Friendly staff. Prices consistent with company and on the high side for everything but tastes great. Lots of parking and you can sit on the waterfront and relax sipping coffee. Great way to start a morning.

Don’t go here!!! there is another Starbucks at KoKo Marina!!! The staff at this Starbucks is unfriendly and does not speak up. The staff is incapable of making drinks in the order they are purchased. I know this is the case since I ordered a double espresso(which is in everything) and somehow 4 or 5 people get their drinks ahead of me who were standing behind me while in line. This has happened twice in a row.

Located hawaii Kai town center, came here for a refresher after our morning hike. It’s okay but it is pretty small and crowded. It has some tables and chairs and some outside as well. Overall, clean n fast service.

For: coffee in the morning. Not a morning person. Against: service is okay but looks worse under the Starbucks name. Other essentials: More: I come here almost every Tuesday and Thursday morning before class around 7:30am. The line is unpredictable. Can be no one, can be to the door. Their service is nowhere near the infamous Starbucks level. They don’t ask for names, no greetings, no drink memorization, nothing. Their coffee is standard — I get the Americano with vanilla so I imagine that’s difficult to mess up. They’re out of food products, specifically breakfast sandwiches, semi-consistently. Throws a wrench in your breakfast! They box you into a line with a product display on the other side of the counter. The product on display is always dusty and is super unappetizing to stare at before ordering food and coffee. There are a few seats, outside too, but no plushy comfy chairs.

It’s a typical Starbucks layout with the typical Starbucks menu and knick knacks to buy. Service? All I need to ask is: Would it kill you guys to smile once in a while and address the customer instead of standing there giving the feel of that we are interuppting your day?

This is a smaller than usual Starbucks with I think only 2 tables inside, but every time I have gone they are efficient with my order and get me out the door fast — I never seem to encounter a line but that maybe because I tend to go early in the mornings. You can sit outside as well and people and dog watch — that can be fun on a Sunday morning! I like that you get in and out quick and that you can go on with your day and check out Yogurtland or GNC etc.

I’m on a Starbucks review revolution… so I’m starting all of my reviews with this standard statement. If you’re stalking me(totally kidding… sort of) and reading these in order, skip to the next paragraph. Let me qualify my review by saying, I’m one of those Starbucks once daily(sometimes twice daily if I’m evil from being overly tired) people. I frequent many a Starbucks and completely disagree that all Starbucks are created equal. I’ll agree that the coffee is generally consistent, but the attention to detail(like 190 degrees), the cleanliness of the store, whether they can keep drip coffee made, how fast they can make drinks, ability to not lose drinks etc is all over the board. This is my favorite Hawaii Kai Starbucks(not saying much since there are only 2)…but really, I’m a fan of this BUX! The location is great, smack in the Hawaii Kai Town Center so LOTS of parking. The store itself is kind of small with just a few places to sit inside, but who needs to sit in the store when you can mosey down and ingest your caffeine from the little marina area benches/tables? There is nothing as relaxing as pouring down your throat a perfectly pulled espresso as the sun rises over the water and you can have that with just a few steps at this Starbucks. Or for additional entertainment, I like to eat a piece of coffee cake or a maple scone while tons of ladies zumba in the hallway just outside store(the center has Zumba every morning at 9). I’ve never had a problem with my order, the staff is always friendly and you can’t beat the location. That makes me a fan of this Hawaii Kai Starbucks!

I’ve been to this location once and that is one times too many. I usually get the iced venti Starbucks double shot. However for some reason I always forget how many shots of espresso are in that drink. Fortunately for me, I’ll never forget anymore thanks to the cashier with the stars tattooed on the right side of her neck. When I asked her how many came in the drink, she replied with a hand gesture raising all her fingers and her thumb. Okay, five shots. I get it. The gesture, plus the bland sarcastic look on her face told me her life’s story at a glance. She was probably one of those girls who got pushed in the mud every day in grade school and to spite the world. she gives poor service while cashiering. Yes, not selling. cashiering. She didn’t give me the chance to add anything on and she didn’t try to up sell me like every other location I’ve been to. All I got was a total. There are dozens of other locations on this island. Locations I’d love to return to. I’m never coming to this one again.
