Sweet E’s I am so glad you moved to a bigger location! This new location is right around the corner from the old location. Look for it on the corner of Kapahulu across Crane Park.
Parking can be a bit of a hassle since there are only a few stalls in the front & street parking can be tough. I highly recommend searching for parking because this place is so worth it!
My friend & I came around 9:45 on a Tuesday morning & were seated right away. We chose to sit inside because it was much cooler & we wanted to stay away from the muggy weather. The atmosphere is very relaxing & beachy. I love the light blue with the grey & white accents!
We shared an order of blueberry cream cheese stuffed French toast topped with fruits & their Kalua Pig omelette. Everything was amazing! Like I couldn’t stop eating because everything tasted so good. The fried rice was so flavorful, def get it! The 3 massive French toast are so rich & delicious, my friend had to take the last one home because we just couldn’t finish it.
The service was top notch! All the guys were super nice & checked in on us to refill our waters & coffee.
Come for a breakfast date with your SO or your girls! Such a relaxing & fun place to grab breakfast!

Sweet E’s new location is a big improvement and it’s much easier to get a table now; especially on busy days. The menu is the same and is your usual breakfast favorites like French Toast, Eggs Benedict and Eggs and Bacon. I don’t know why all the servers are guys; it’s unusual. If the valet parking is full there are some street parking spots on Kapahulu on the same side as Sweet E’s and you just have to go mauka to find them. If you’re really desperate you can park at Safeway a couple blocks away as they never tow.

Omgahhh!!! How did I not write a review about this place!!! ALL I CAN SAY IS DELISH = BLUEBERRY FRENCH TOAST…
Okay, so I wanted to try some really good breakfast and found this place. Unfortunately, parking is behind the location, on the left, limited parking, so it was really hard to get a parking spot. Just keep that in mind. We also went on a Sun morning, so it was a little crowded, but only like 5 people ahead of us, though we were there at like 10am.
We waited about 30−40mins, and once we were seated, we were so ready to eat, we were hungry! The place has a cute environment on the inside, but it is small, which is probably why it took a little while. My hubby ordered the kalua pork eggs benedict and I ordered the blueberry cream cheese stuffed french toast, but I LOVE french toast. When our order came out and I tried the french toast, ohh my gahhh… It was so heavenly and tasted amazing… Now maybe it was extra amazing cause I was starving, but my hubby tried some and said it was delish as well. He tried to eat all my food, greedy~~ His kalua pork benedict was pretty good too though, so I will say this place did not disappoint.
The service was good. No complaints here. This is my favorite breakfast place so far. I have tried a decent amount of breakfast places, but this one is still #1 right now…

It’s unfortunate that they don’t pick up their phones. I’ve been trying to call for 15−20mins to put in a take-​out order. The phone keeps ringing and ringing with no answer. How can any business lack this type of customer service? I’ve been to their restaurant many times, in the old location as well as new — they’ve got good food, decent service… Which is why I am so disappointed on their lack of service for take-​outs. They may not have answered because it’s crazy busy… Well they should consider having a phone system in place that will help alleviate the traffic and have the ability to service ALL customers (dining in or take out).
I’m just so disappointed. I hope they seriously look into improving on this aspect of service. Quite frankly, restaurants are so much more profitable with take out orders than dine in.

We stumbled upon this sweet (pun intended) café thanks to Unilocal.
We’ve tried Café Kaila (love) and Scratch (love) but we wanted something different and I was too hungry to deal with the wait time at either of those breakfast spots. We pulled up to Sweet E’s to find a decent sized group of people waiting outside for a table. (We went on a Friday morning)
Much to my surprise, the wait time wasn’t that long despite the crowd. This café appears to be bigger than some of the others we’ve tried, so while many people were waiting, they were able to move through the list pretty quickly.
I ordered the All American Omelette sans bacon and with a side of potatoes. My husband had The Extreme Mess with toast. Both were fairly delicious and well prepared and seasoned.
Overall, I’m a fan. Not sure I’d say it’s one of the best breakfasts I’ve had here… but it was decent and worthy of four stars!

This is my first time being at their new location and all I can say is «what an upgrade!»
More parking selections, bigger restaurant space (in and out), a nice shaded waiting area, and food is still amazing!
Came here on a Friday morning around 11 am. I guess you can say I scored parking right in front. When I was writing down our reservation, there was literally 10 people ahead of us that I thought it was going to be a long wait. Fortunately that wait became tops 20 minutes. I guess you can say we came at a good time when people were actually leaving although it seemed super busy.
We got to sit outside which wasn’t so bad! It’s a nice shaded area and they have fans which makes the area seem cool on a hot day! Staff was great and very friendly with great Aloha attitudes.
Food wise! I basically ordered with my eyes! I ordered the corn beef hash Benedict with a side of has Browns. The cornbeef hash looked a little burnt but it actually tasted nice and crispy. Couldn’t resist the enchanted stuffed French toast with blueberries and crème and it topped off the sweet tooth craving. My other half decided to get the every day breakfast with eggs, bacon, and rice and I have to say everything was cooked to perfection even though it was a simple breakfast fix. The bacon was very crispy and tasty and eggs were very fluffy! Now that’s what you call «BAE»
He also ordered the waffle with fruits and even that is amazing! Orders are big portion which would leave you satisfied or even full! Food might be kind of pricey but it’s worth it! I would definitely come back for that important meal of the day!

My husband and I were looking forward to trying out the new location on Kapahulu. We came on a weekend and weren’t aware that valet is used during this time ($ 3).
Environment: Nice space, not too small or big. Fresh décor and option of covered outside seating area.
Food: I got the Hawaiian omelette which what I was craving due to the different tasty meats inside. My husband got the Denver omelette and said it was «ok,» mostly lacking flavor.
Service: So this is where things went bad, and I was surprised that there were so many great reviews on this topic, as we had quite the different experience.
In short, we had no service. A guy with a mohawk took our order while leaning over the wall next to us. No introduction, and he looked at my husband like he was dumb when he tried to clarify the amount of pancakes given in a side order (sometimes sides come with more than one item). We never saw him again. Nobody checked on how we were doing, or how the food was or refilled water, etc. Someone did come by at the end asking if we needed the check and a take away box, but when he/​someone else returned they left it on the wall without a word. It would be nice if waiters hand you things or talk to you without a wall in between, it’s rude.
We ate at the smaller location and the service was not that good, but not as bad as this time. In any case, even if food in a restaurant is delicious, bad service ruins everything. So it is definitely not worth paying for «ok» food with bad service and an extra $ 3 for valet. Sadly won’t be returning.

Love! We came here around 10am on Tuesday. We waited about 20 minutes for a table for 2. Coming from California, the service at this restaurant (and a few others) is amazing! They’re really on top of it (Californians should take note haha). They immediately gave us waters and asked us what we would like to drink. We both ordered two coffees. We needed a bit to decide what we wanted. They came while we were unsure, so I’m guessing there are a majority of locals/​regulars that come here (always a good sign!). I decided to get the kahlua pork eggs benedict and my bf got the blueberry cream cheese stuffed french toast. The eggs benedict was so savory and delicious! I couldn’t eat it all. I have never had such flavorful pork before. My bf was afraid of the cream cheese, but he loved his french toast! They were very attentive, however not overly attentive. Will definitely come back next time I’m visiting Oahu ;).
One thing to note is that there is a small parking lot, but gets filled up quickly. There are one hour parking meters near the café as well.

My first time trying their new location, which is much more spacious with a lot more seating (indoors and patio)! Eating on a weekday, there was no wait to be seated (score!). Parking is limited to a handful of stalls in the lot outside the restaurant but there’s free or metered street parking along Kapahulu and Kaimuki high school.
The food is still delicious and portions are large! I had the denver omelette filled with onions, bell pepper, tomato, ham, and cheese. Probably the best omelette I’ve had at a restaurant. The eggs were fluffy and veggies nicely sautéed. It came with toast and choice country-​style potatoes, hash brown, or rice. I opted to upgrade to fried rice for $ 0.75 more. My friend had the eggs benedict w/​spinach and tomatoes, she said it wasn’t anything «special» but at least on par with other places. The stuffed french toast is killer! I love cream cheese anything so the blueberry filling is pure decadence. You can even opt for a single piece for $ 4.25, if you just want to sample.
The only bummer was service was a little of a let down. They overlooked our order, which happens. But the two tables next to us got their food first (although they came later) and it wasn’t until we flagged down a waiter was the oversight noticed. Our water was consistently refilled though!

Drove by this place many times and kept seeing people waiting outside so I finally decided to come in. The place is sure cute and homey and the food is delicious.
My mom and I ordered two plates to split: blueberry Cream cheese stuffed French toast & Kalua pig eggs Benedict.
The kalua pig was was a little smoky and very filling (especially since we got a side of fried rice too). My favorite was the French toast though. It was so filling and was so sweet it was like eating dessert for breakfast. They used Hawaiian sweet bread which also made it super delicious.
Would definitely recommend! Just make sure you get here early on the weekend or try to come in on a weekday when it is less crowded.

Love their new location! They now have $ 3 valet or street parking (we parked on the street, which had some openings, even for a Sunday!)
Wait was about 30 mins, not too bad. The sun is blazing at 9am, so there are picnic tables and tents outside so you can sit while you wait to get called. There’s also menus outside so you can read while you wait: D
Got the Corned Beef Hash Benedicts w/​Hashbrowns. Hashbrowns were nice and crispy. You cannot beat homemade corned beef hash! Also got a cup of coffee.
Staff made sure our waters and coffees were filled. However, it was busy so we had to hunt someone down to get our bill.
One of our go-​to spots in town. Will try the blueberry cream cheese French toast next! Cheers!

Best breakfast in Honolulu, and you can stop by Leonard’s afterwards to pick up some delicious malasadas to take home. But back to the breakfast, we had omelettes with hash browns and a side of the blueberry/​cream cheese stuffed french toast. And it was good, excellent in fact. The hash browns were cooked to perfection: crispy on the outside, but still cooked on the inside (not mushy and cold like some places). And the french toast was out of this world, I might have to get a full order the next time I am back.
It is a bit of a trek to get out here, but get in a taxi and do it. You will not regret it.

We took a long taxi ride here from our hotel because of the high ratings on Unilocal.I’m starting to wonder about those high ratings because lately more often than not, they’ve been wrong. It was a huge wasted trip.
Don’t get me wrong, the food and service were both fine, but was it worth the $ 20 cab ride? Absolutely not. The blueberry stuffed french toast is GOOD, but it’s not to die for. The pancakes are GOOD, but they’re nothing special. There was nothing special at all. It’s just a good restaurant with good food and good service. If you’re nearby, sure, I recommend it, but if you are making a special trip to find something amazing, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Maybe the problem is that there is just SO MUCH great food everywhere in Waikiki that making a special trip anywhere for a specific restaurant just isn’t worth it?

After a sunrise hike, you’re hungry… Its a debate on where to go… We decided to come here after hiking Makapuu light house. I love breakfast and I’m a huge EGGS BENEDICTS fan!
It was my first time coming here after they moved down the road. They usually have a ridiculously long wait but when we got there around 830ish, wasn’t to bad. Ok the big seller… all the servers are MEN! O_​o What a way to start my day, good looking men and my eggs benedict. HAHAH! Serious now, my kalua pork eggs Benedict was delicious! My friend got a loco moco, he then regretted it later cause the sauce was a little weird, it’s like gravy taste.
Parking: They have valet, but I actually parked at market city by Ben franklins and walked it. The valet line was to crazy.

Really high prices for breakfast food, is it worth it? Unfortunately, Sweet E’s comes up a bit short of the hype. For visitors to Hawaii, think of this place like a Hash House A Go — Go but not as good execution and almost the same portions.
First of all, we ordered the chicken «pesto» omelet for $ 13.25, about $ 4 more than other breakfast places like Pancakes and Waffles. Generous portion and the omelet was neat with the ingredients placed inside, lots of spinach and mozzarella cheese. But where is the «pesto»? This was completely missing and the chicken was dry. The hash browns were nice and crispy. Somewhat disappointing dish for the price.
My wife ordered the eggs benedict with home made corned beef hash and roasted red herb potatoes for $ 14.50. This was better and I don’t have much complaints here.
For the weekends, the parking valet (if available) and you should look for street parking. Expect a 15 minute or longer wait.
The customer service is efficient but not very friendly unless you are one of the «bros» of the wait staff. I noticed that they would go out of their way to greet their friends and «talk story» with them. It’s like I needed to give them a secret handshake to part of their clique. One of the staff had enough time to give a massage to one their customers/​friend. A sign in the restaurant says to make yourself at home and they will take care of you… add in only if you are their friend. The wait staff didn’t even bother how was the food or if we needed anything and was given a lukewarm «thank you» when we left.
We are not coming back, very high prices, unfriendly atmosphere, bad parking and ok food. I was considering them to cater several business luncheons but with this experience, forget about it.
Be forewarned to temper your expectations. If you want to see how breakfast should be done for the right prices with friendly service, check out Egg Works in Las Vegas or Pancakes and Waffles in Kalihi.

I already liked Sweet E’s Café, but I really love them now that they’ve moved to their new location on the corner of Kapahulu Ave. and Kaimuki Ave. Entrance to the parking lot is on Kapahulu, and they do offer valet service. Fortunately however, i’ve been able to find street parking most of the time, or have been able to park in the lot if I’m here on a weekday later in the morning.
The inside seating area is alot more spacious now, and with the addition of the outside seating area, even more so. I personally like sitting outside better because the inside seems noisier.
The portions here are very generous. My favorites are the traditional eggs benedict with herb roasted potatoes and the blueberry cream cheese stuffed french toast. The hollandaise sauce is nice and creamy, and the potatoes are never overdone and dried out. The stuffed french toast is perfect just the way it is, and I like it without any syrup.
Service is good, and the 5^th star is because they now have restrooms inside, as opposed to the old location where it was outside.

good service in all. there were 2 waiters who immediately served us as soon as we got in & took our orders real quick! they kept asking us how we were doing and if we were comfortable. thats a plus for me! but, they dont have a personality because they literally dont smile lol guys right? hahahaha but still, in the morning people need smiles!!!
FOOD:
i had the stuffed banana french toast. it was good!!! there was a creamy texture with banana slices inside of 2 breads. with sugar on top & a strawberry. altogether 3 portions. a good amount :) there was alot of taste each bite i took haha my bf got the everyday breakfast with scrambled eggs, corned beef hash & fried rice. he said the corned beef hash was too salty. everything else was good.
PRICES: super pricey! my stuffed french toast was almost $ 10 & my bfs everyday breakfast was $ 14 omg! and mind you, the fried rice he got with his plate was an extra $ 3. they give good portions i must say but not worth that price. i guess its because of the area they’re in. but still!
PARKING:
they have valet parking for $ 4. i wouldnt because we found an easy street parking close by. they have such a small parking its crazy! and we had a big truck so there was no way we couldve fit in there!
overall i wouldnt go back unless someone treats me.

Brah if it’s breakfast on your mind and da time is right, dis is da place!!! Mean kine taste and just right portions and da new location helps with da wait unlike da ada where da wait was 45 to an hr.
Anyhow, da stuffed french toast wit blueberries and cream cheese is a MUST have! Anything else you see or want in your breakfast dey get. Da home style hash browns is winnahs and da pancakes too. Service is gud too… Ladies got eye candy if you wit da girls… sorry fellahs but keep your focus on da grindz! Brahdas dere working hard and as fast as they can so keep your patience handy and you’ll leave rewarded!
Also, if you in the mood with non breakfast stuff dey got dat too but I’ve only gone here for breakfast! K shoots, grind on! Pau!

I came here 3 – 4 times leaving disappointed that I couldn’t try it because the parking lot was so full and there was no street parking. Finally got a spot a little later in the day on a weekday and was stoked.
I tried their waffles without fruit because I don’t really care for fruit. The waffles were delicious and had a hint of a cinnamon flavor to its batter. I loved it so much I finished my whole plate, and usually I don’t.
The bacon on the side was nice and crisp and were big pieces.
The hot mess also looked great, and was HUGE.
Service was friendly and fast. Coffee and waters were always refilled.
Inside was a little bit hot though. Not sure what was up with their air conditioner.

Visiting Oahu with my sister and decided to come see what all the fuss is about at Sweet E’s. We came in on a Tuesday at around 9 and we were seated immediately. I really like the space and the décor, very chill and relaxing. The wait staff was fast and polite.
We made our own omelette and ordered a side order of the blueberry cream cheese stuffed french toast. Everything was really great and tasty. The side order of the french toast was pretty small but was a perfectly balanced dish. Creamy cream cheese, sweet french toast and syrup but the sweetness was cut by the tartness of the blueberries. A real treat!
Parking was really bad though even when they were not busy. Had to park like 3 blocks away. However it’s right across the street from Leonard’s Bakery so it’s TOO convenient to drop by there right after.
Pro travelers tip: Save some stomach for Leonard’s Bakery after breakfast!

Four stars for service, Five stars for the food! It really all comes down to the food!
I had came with my boyfriend on a Saturday morning. We parked on Kapahulu Ave. but didn’t know valet was $ 3 (not bad).
When entering the vibe felt so welcoming and home like. There’s a sign in sheet inside and a wait area outside with benches, free iced water, and the menu. I guess because there was only two of us, the wait wasn’t long.
THE FOOD:
+Kalua Omelette w/​Fried Rice ($ 0.75 more): Each bite was amazing! There was so much flavor from the pork to the fried rice. Oh and it comes with toast too!
+Blueberry Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast: MOUTHGASM! It’s not even that sweet even when adding syrup. The French toasts compliments the stuffing very well.
+Iced Coffee (FREE refills): Very smooth, kinda like a cold brew.
I want to come back to try their other sweet breakfast treats like pancakes and also try their eggs Benedict! The only thing that bothered me was their server, it took them a very long time to give us our check and also to process it. But it’s okay, I enjoyed the vibe! Oh and their female restroom is so nice!

I had heard about Sweet E’s but never even knew where it was. So, After their recent move onto Kapahulu Avenue — you can’t miss it!
So happy we stopped by and had breakfast.
This place is a cozy lil breakfast joint — love the design and layout. Service was awesome and the food was Ono!

I really like this place! Not the best in the world, I don’t give out 5 stars to just anything. But this is a really sweet, cute breakfast spot. I could imagine it being great for a small date. It is visually appealing and their food is tasty. Expect to pay about 15 $ a person with tip. Hardly a wait. Customer service is average, a little lethargic but does not impact experience much. Parking is limited and crammed, look for street parking. Portions are great size and again, the food is pretty good :) definitely will come back and I would recommend!

Sweet E’s is simply DA BOMB!!! New place but, still the same. Wonderful, Awesome, delicious breakfast & lunch. You know they take pride in what they serve. The place is very clean & full of Family photos which makes you feel at home. Never will you sit with your glass half full. The service is class A! You don’t ever have to ask for more water. The guys are right there! There are ALL young local guys there & their ALL on it! You look at them & their right there asking you if your ok or if you need anything. It’s really nice to be treated like you matter. I can tell their ALL Luvin their jobs & what they love to do. Hats off to the Owner because your Employees look Happy all the time! I recommend Sweet E’s all the time to my Guest & Friends. Thank you Sweet E’s!!!

Weekend mornings are super busy and the wait is long so I came back on a weekday morning and it wasn’t too bad. Didn’t even have to wait, we just sat ourselves down to a table of our choice.
Customer service was on point, considering most of them, if not all of them were local handsome waiters with great smiles. They were super friendly and attentive to us during our dine in experience.
My friend and I ordered what we usually crave for at breakfast time. Traditional Benedict, Hawaiian Omelette and Banana pancakes to share. I was pretty impressed with the option to have an Egg White omelette, because I didn’t even know that was possible.
Of it all, I was delighted most with their pancake. After one bite, I was immediately sold! Something about them definitely made them stand out compared with IHOP or Denny’s or even Boots and Kimos. Try their pancakes! i

Today I spent the morning being adventurous with the BF. We rarely spend time together as a couple so I had our whole morning planned out: Hike and brekky!
After our quick hike (see review for Koko Crater Arch), we decided to visit the new Sweet E’s location on Kapahulu Ave. Excited about the great reviews I read, I couldn’t wait to dive into a big breakfast as a reward for our exercise. Here are some notes on today’s visit:
PARKING: The new location seemed promising for parking, but with only about 12 stalls (All valet $ 3), we were left searching for street stalls. Directly up the road on Kaimuki Ave, there were several marked stalls that did not have a meter so we parked there and walked to the restaurant.
FOOD: I ordered the chicken pesto omelette and my boyfriend chose the corned beef hash eggs benedict. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that the omelette came with tomatoes! ARGH! I guess the last time I was here I ordered it without so when it came out with tomatoes I was surprised! The server overheard me and quickly asked if I wanted the item replaced. Not wanting to be pain in the butt, I assured him that it was okay. Overall the omelette lacked the pesto and cheese flavor I remembered. Maybe being disappointed with my oversight tainted my experience, but I felt like it was more of a spinach omelette than a pesto omelette. My BF’s bene was amazing. The corned beef was nice and crispy and his eggs were perfectly poached. Next time I’m going to have that instead!
SERVICE: As I mentioned, the server was super apologetic even though it was my own fault that I ordered my omelette with tomatoes. He didn’t need to offer to fix it, but he did, which was thoughtful. Service was quick, and I like the fact that the dining room is so much larger than their former location.
Overall, I’m sure we will be back — Sweet E’s is a staple for breakfast in town. I love the quaint feel of the restaurant, and normally the food is on point. Today’s experience was just OK.

This place has recently moved from a little back alley right out onto Kapahulu on a corner. Parking is worse than ever, but they offer valet for $ 3, and while I’ve never valeted for breakfast before, it seems worth it here.
The coffee is pretty good (but nothing remarkable.) However the blueberry & cream cheese stuffed french toast is out of this world. It’s tough to finish an entire order, so I’d recommend splitting it with someone ordering a less carb-​heavy dish. I split mine with the Kalua Pork Egg’s Benedict which were also spectacular. Service is handled in a team manner, and I’ve never had a problem waiting for more coffee or water in all the time’s I’ve come.
This is in the top 5 breakfast places on Oahu, so check it out, but get there early before it fills up. The patio at the new location is absolutely perfect!

Their new location is heavenly considering the last location could only seat a few customers.
However I don’t know what has changed in their eggs and French toast, but it was «meh.» Went to relive my first experience of dining there but now will probably not return.

I love this new location! It is much bigger with more tables and I’m not feeling like I’m cramped anymore! Décor is gorgeous and I love how they have indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is prompt and friendly as usual despite the higher volume of customers they are serving at a time now.
Parking is alright, would’ve been much nicer if they used their own lot for customer parking and not for valet… If you don’t want to pay $ 3 for valet, you will need to hunt around for parking. I didn’t find free street parking, but I paid $ 1 at a metered stall in front of Calvin & Suzie’s.
We got seated right away for a table of two, which never happened at their old location for me. However, our table was outside which I didn’t mind. It had a nice atmosphere, it is covered and they did have fans circulating back there. Although there were fans, it still got toasty. So for those who despise the heat, definitely request an indoor table!
Food is delicious as usual! My favorite of course is the blueberry stuffed french toast and corn beef hash benedict. I’m glad that with a new and bigger location, their food and service was not jeopardized.

Hands down one of my favorite breakfast/​brunch places yet. The new location offers $ 3 valet parking ($ 3 valet fee is included in your bill) and a new updated spacious dining area. The prices range between $ 10 – 15 per dish and food portions are big and taste as delicious as they look. Some of my favorite dishes include the Blueberry Stuffed French Toast, Kalua Pig Eggs Benedict, herb roasted potatoes, & the Extreme Mess scrambler. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves breakfast food as much as I do!

Joined Sweet E’s Café for brunch on Valentines day and this café may be a new personal favorite! I’ve been to sweet E’s prior to them moving to their new location and had a good experience but nothing memorable. Eating in their new café seemed different! The service and food was amazing and very memorable this time around :)
The interior resembled their original location, just a little more spacious and brighter than before! The waiting list on valentines day was long with many customers waiting outside but the staff worked so quickly with getting tables situated that my boyfriend and I barely noticed the wait!
The menu is sweet and simple, making it very easy to make a choice. I had corned beef hash and egg whites while my boyfriend had eggs Benedict and has browns for our mains. The food was delicious, warm, savory, and a crisp/​crunchy… just the way a breakfast should be! We topped off our meal with their special red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing. amazing ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would recommend.
The servers were very friendly and tentative. They checked in on us and our meals regularly. They all had smiles on their faces and kept busy around all customers. They created a lovely atmosphere for the restaurant.

The Sweet E’s Café you know and love has a new location. On the corner of Kapahulu and Kaimuki Ave, with more parking, more seating and the same great menu.
Couldn’t think of anyplace better for Valentine’s Day breakfast than Sweet E’s, I mean heck the name says it all. Signed in and waited about 15 – 20 min for a table (not a bad wait given the holiday). Once inside the vibe was just as homey as the old location but with lots more room.
I ordered my usual Corned Beef Hash Eggs Benedict with avocado and as usual it was awesome. No matter when I’ve come for breakfast or how busy they are, the food is ALWAYS good and ALWAYS consistent. Can’t go wrong at Sweet E’s!

I can remember years ago when this place was a hidden gem back in the corner of Kilohana Square. Then came the name recognition and the appearances in the Japanese tourist magazines. Along with the influx of customers came the 30 – 40 minute waits to get in. The new, larger location managed to cut down on some of the wait time, but now the challenge is parking.
I only ever order one thing here– the corned beef eggs benedict but switch it up between the hash browns, the herb roasted potatoes, or the fried rice. The menu is pretty simple, but everything is done right so there’s really no need to change anything about the place.

This place just reopened in a new location. Holy moly it was delicious! I love the feel of the place — like having breakfast at your aunty’s house.
BLUEBERRY STUFFED FRENCH TOAST. In a word… HEAVENLY. Fresh blueberries with cream cheese between two pieces of wonderfully sweet and pillowy french toast. Add some syrup and its amazing.
THE SLEEPER. It was a special that day, but it should be on the menu always. A mountain of food with kalua pig omelette, homemade hash browns & goulash all on top of white rice. Kanak attack! It’s amazingly perfect. I love you Sleeper. I wish I could have you all the time.
Only down side is the small parking lot. We parked in the in neighborhood and walked over, which ended up being a good thing since we ate sooooooo much and could use the walk.

I admit I’ll miss «my» old location a block up the road, but at least «my» new location is lots bigger, and if you’ve ever been to «my» old location… Today you don’t have to worry about walking into «my» mirror! Eh, the mirror you thought was another room! I’m talking «my» breakfast restaurant…

Get it yet? Oh nvm. And ignore the mirror joke, since it’s not applicable now. Today, there’s more room, still with that «country-​beachy» vibe, funny signs décor, plus an outdoor area, and of course even more room! I think with the outside area the restaurant itself is twice the size.
I came to the new location with a bunch of friends who so happen to Unilocal too, who btw, also love breakfast! After waiting for the entire group to arrive, and being seated, we peruse the menu, but I pretty much have it memorized so I lean towards the legendary stuffed blueberry cream-​cheese French toast, but at the very last nanosecond change it to the Hawaiian omelette ($ 12.50), which of course is stuffed w/​Portuguese sausage, spam, scallions, onions, cheddar cheese. The dish also came with toast, and I chose the hash browns as my side (other choices include, herb roasted potatoes, steamed white or brown rice, or homemade fries). Fruit garnish comes with the dish for color. I order a glass of of guava juice ($ 3.75) & kapahulu tap water (free) as my wash down. My table mates order a bunch of the other stuff including benes, breakfast croissants, pancakes and the legendary dish!
The omelette was literally stuffed with. well the stuffings! Seasoned perfectly, as I didn’t need to add anything else, and cooked perfectly too. The hash browns here might be the best in the state — that’s if you love if it’s made of real potatoes (not from a can or whatever) and cooked crisp on the outside, yet tender on the inside. I didn’t order any coffee or iced tea, but I do know that it’s bottomless for those that can drink like a thirsty camel. Did that make any sense?

SWEET E’s CAFE!
A café that is rumored named after yours truly. Kidding aside, well maybe, maybe not, hey maybe. This is one of the most consistent and top places for a delicious breaky with a warm inviting local vibe. Yet, if it is your first time here get the legendary stuffed blueberry cream-​cheese French toast! This is DA SIGNATURE dish and #FOODPORN is automatically *hash-​tagged* on it! It’s also my favorite dish if I’m in the mood for sweet over savory. Hence, my sweet name… Oh nvm.
I guess the only negative is the valet parking for $ 3, but there’s parking options on the street, if you know the area… You should know where to park! It can get crowded during peak hours too. Yet, you control your own destiny in life, so really no complaints! Just ask me… I AM SWEET E! Go ask my RL friends, but shhhh…

I love the new location of Sweet E’s! It’s located on the corner of Kaimuki Ave and Kapahulu Ave. Now they have their own private parking lot and a lot more space to dine in. They even have valet! You have the choice to dine inside or outside. The menu is the same as before and you see some familiar faces from the old location.
My friends haven’t been here before so we scheduled a brunch. They were excited to try out Sweet E’s and I was excited to check out this new location. The food and customer service is the same. I’m so happy because I was afraid that the quality of food or customer service might be affected with the move.
My friends relied on me to order since it was their first time. I told them what my favorite menu item is and they said they would order the same. We all ordered the Blueberry Stuffed French Toast and they loved it! Our brunch ended up 3 hours plus and the staff didn’t kick us out which is so nice. 5 stars still so go eat there if you haven’t already!

White wood trim with glass doors and shiny knobs welcome visitors into a place of brunch. The graceful sunlight shines through larger windows towards the elegant gray scale photos that populate these newly painted walls. Numerous typography of sweet words as an addition makes dining that much more pleasant. Onyx, smooth matte hardwood floors accent it’s new leather chairs and black finished tables with contemporary glass tops. While seats for two are plenty, Tables are also easily rearranged to fit large parties. Coming from a 950 square foot space at Kilohana Square to a more spacious home, this is a definite upgrade not only for Sweet E’s but for their patrons.
$ 3 valet is now an option or street parking. Upon walking inside, a pad of paper is available to write your name on (if there’s a wait). This is located on the table to your left after the first pillar. Guests on the wait list are able to wait outside under the awning provided with a picnic table, water pitcher and cups. My companion and I waited not more than 10 minutes on a Sunday morning. An enjoyable additional to their larger space is covered outdoor seating. Bathrooms are located to your right upon entering the restaurant. A nice station for preparing virgin drinks are located on this part of the vicinity, so BYOB to enjoy with friends and family. I couldn’t help but fathom the similarities from the previous location and I’m glad they kept this same theme.
Our server was prompt with the drinks and order taking. The menu is fairly the same with choices on extraordinary omelets for the omelet lovers. For the eggs benedict fanatics, there are still 4 to choose from. The second page are more choices for eggs, pancakes, french toasts, waffles, breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches. The third page are for sides and beverages. For guests arriving at 11, soup is avail along with flat bread pizza, salads and wonderful sandwiches. Since brunch was the ultimate goal for the morning, I ordered the first item that caught my eye. Corned Beef Hash Benedict with my side of rice, onions and avocado. Any of the benedicts can be ordered with either a choice of herb roasted potatoes, hash-​browns steamed white or brown rice or fried rice (for an extra .75c). I relished and savored every bite of my en pointe dish. The hollandaise sauce was perfectly creamy on my wonderfully made eggs benedict. The yolk dispersed evenly on the protein. The corned beef was pleasantly crunchy on the outside and nicely soft on the inside with just the right touch for its seasonings over the english muffin. This is an exemplary breakfast for anyone with an enormous appetite as I’ve had to take mine to go.
Customer service was exceptional. We’ve not had to flag anyone for waters, checks or to go boxes. To be honest? Everyone helped on all areas for the entire duration of our dining experience. Sweet E’s is now located on the cross streets of Kapahulu Ave and Kaimuki Ave. A large sign can’t be missed when driving through this new location. Sweet E’s is operating 7 days a week from 7am to 2pm.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the deal, and by far the most fun one to eat out! I’ve been a fan of Sweet E’s at their old location for a few months and was so happy with the food. I was thrilled to learn about the new location and happy my dining companion and I could try it shortly after opening! We both loved it; the food is still great quality, staff is amazing, but the dining experience has become even more comfortable and fun!
Located at the corner of Kapahulu and Kaimuki, it’s centrally located and close to Diamond Head, UH, and Waikiki. The only perceived negative of this location is no free parking lot– they offer valet service in their small lot; however, free street parking is available and ample if you can get lucky. There is a sign-​in sheet to be seated, but unlike the old location, you will be led to your table with minimal wait. They have a tent with water outside for those times that do require more patience.
The restaurant has low ceilings, white walls, and black & white photos everywhere. The new outside dining area adds to the comfort as gentle breezes blew through all morning. Their door also opens to sunrise, so it provided a pleasant light in which to eat. The black tables and springy chairs were so comfortable as well. The staff is always amazing; they have serving down to an art and help each other with customers’ needs.
As memory serves, the menu offered the same fare as the old location. I of course went to the eggs benedict and went with the always delicious classic variety. With a larger kitchen, the food arrived quickly as well. It tasted better than I remembered, which is always a happy surprise. Iced tea was strong and bottomless. The only negative is the portion size for the price, but it’s worth paying a premium for the experience and quality. I’m excited to try more dishes and spend some lazy mornings here.

My boyfriend and I love coming to Sweet E’s Café. We drove past the old location and was so confused that they were gone. We checked Unilocal and easily found the new location. We Love their new location which is located a few shops down from the old location on kapahulu. There is a lot more space and seating. There is even an outside patio. There is limited parking so sometimes you may have to park on the street. Luckily we find a parking spot every time we’ve been here.
They have the same awesome food and vibe, just a different location! I really like getting their bagel sandwhich. You can also get it with a croissant instead of a bagel, which is also really yummy. I tend to get this often because 1. It’s fairly cheap, only $ 7.95 and 2. I love it so much. It comes with eggs, cheese, your choice of meat, tomatoes, and spinach.
I also really like getting the Elegant Waffles with additional fruits or the Enchanting French Toast. Get the French toast stuffed with blueberries and cream cheese. I promise, it’s SO GOOOD! I usually cant finish the whole portion so I always share it.
My boyfriend LOVES getting the eggs Benedict (of course). They have 4 different styles. Kalua, traditional, or corned beef hash, or veggie. So far he’s liked them all. However, he hasn’t gotten the chance to try the veggie eggs Benedict.
I can honestly say that Sweet E’s holds the key to my heart. With bottomless iced coffee, this is my official breakfast spot. and you know, i can never say no to a good thing. So I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

I’ve been coming to this place for awhile now and now that is moved to its new location, I got a chance to check it out. It’s a lot larger than previously, but with the same feel. They have the same menu with local style breakfast. The omelets are great as well as the benedicts.
The service was a little slow at the new location, with the kitchen being the limiting factor. Otherwise the staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is valet only in the lot for a few bucks. Otherwise, you can also park on the street.

Not bad for brunch! Sweet E’s was officially our last meal before we headed back to the cold and gloomy San Francisco :(I had a few other brunch places bookmarked and I was really craving for some macadamia nut pancakes but a friend found this place instead.
Solid brunch place, there was a wait when we arrived at 9:30am and we were seated about 20 min after arrival. Parking is a bit ridiculous which is why they have a valet for a 10 car parking lot. The valet is $ 4 and they add it to your bill if you choose to get your car valeted.
We were seated outside which was basically a seating area with a tarp over the roof and natural sunlight coming through the sides.
I decided to order the veggie eggs Benedict. I definitely lacked vegetables the entire trip so perhaps that’s what compelled me not to order meat… this review is solely based on my experience with the eggs Benedict which wasn’t great. My egg was undercooked and there was literally one slice of tomato instead of the big chunks I saw in Unilocal pictures. I also got the blueberry cream cheese French toast which sounded amazing but was less than great when I took a bite :(so sad.
Overall service was great but 3 stars are for the meal I ordered. My friends got different dishes including the omelette which was very flavorful and the burrito which looked small. Overall, it sufficed for breakfast but definitely wish we had a more memorable meal as our last meal.

Oh Sweet E’s… You have always and will always be my number one. Now you’ve gotten bigger but have still remained the best in my eyes. Your service is always 5 stars, your ambiance is always cute, modern, and clean, and as always, your food has me drooling all over myself!
Everything on the menu is the same as the old location and still as tasty as ever (croissant breakfast sandwich, omelets, eggs benny) but my faves are the banana stuffed french toast and fried rice. My mouth loves to combine sweet + savory at breakfast and Sweet E’s does it perfectly. Really, I’ve never had a bad meal or bad experience here ever! This new location also has a cute patio for outdoor seating!
Valet parking is offered for $ 3 (this charge will show up on your bill). I come mostly on weekends and street parking is available but sometimes hard in this area so I don’t mind the valet. This new location also has their own bathroom so that’s a plus.
Basically, if I had one last meal on this planet we call earth, it would be here at Sweet E’s! See you again soon!

Sweet E’s has recently relocated to the corner of Kapahulu and Kaimuki Ave. This is a much better location for them because its larger on the inside, easier to find and they have more parking available. They offer valet parking in font, or you can look for street parking close by.
The Grub.
[[ BREAKFAST SANDWICH $ 7.95 ]] This sandwich is stuffed with cheese, egg, tomato, spinach and your choice of meat (bacon, spam, portuguese sausage, sausage patty, corned beef hash, ham, shredded chicken or kalua pork). I personally thought this sandwich was ok. It wasn’t that great and I don’t think I would order it again.
[[ EGGS BENEDICT $ 12.95 ]] The benedict was cooked to perfection! Perfectly cooked egg and delish hollandaise sauce. I was very happy with this dish. My only complaint would be the potatoes. I personally like mine cut more thin so they come out more on the crispy side.

Loving this new location Sweet E’s! I can eat without feeling rushed, there’s a nice waiting area with water, and even valet (for $ 3…no thank you I’ll find street parking).
Your menu still has all my faves… the dessert like blueberry french toast, and how do you make that corned beef hash eggs Benny taste so awesome? I seriously go to heaven with every bite. Unfortunately on the last trip my eggs were a little too cooked and missed that signature Benedict runniness. That’s ok, the flavor was on point so I’ll forgive you… this time.
One day I’ll try and branch out to different menu items. And as Avril Lavigne says «I don’t know how I’ll feel. …tomorrow. …is a different day. »

Sweet E’s moved right down the road on the corner of Kapahulu Ave & Kaimuki Ave (across from the gas station). The new location has a private parking lot of about 8 stalls which is Valet. There are TONS of non-​metered (FREE!) street parking available on Kaimuki Ave though. Seating is now available indoors and outdoors, and the décor feels just like the old location– comfortable and homey.
My boyfriend and I visited this location on a Thursday for brunch and they were relatively slow. Not sure how the wait is on the weekends… We ordered our usual dishes… Kalua Pork Eggs Benedict for me, Corned Beef Eggs Benedict for my bf, and an order of Blueberry Stuffed French Toast to share. The menu hasn’t changed, and neither has the quality!!! So delicious.
Overall, imagine the old Sweet E’s magically transported to a larger & more convenient location! Even the servers were the same!

The corn beef hash eggs benedict and stuffed french toast is the bomb. Freaking amazing and usually I am not that big of a breakfast person. The way the eggs benedicts are cooked so perfectly is some sort of wizardry. The corn beef hash tastes home made and not the weird colored canned stuff that you see at other breakfast joints. The hash brown is fried to a wonderful crispiness without being dry or overcooked. And the french toast has fresh blueberries and so good. My only complain is I wish I had two stomachs to take in all this delicious food! Oh yeah the wait and parking is a pain but well worth it!

My quest continues to try out all the different breakfast spots on Oahu. I met up with a few Unilocalers to have breakfast at Sweet E’s Café on a Saturday morning around 8:30. They are now at their new location fronting Kapahulu Blvd. It’s right around the corner from where they used to be.
I knew parking was going to be a pain so I got dropped off. They do offer valet for $ 3. When I arrived, there already was a wait so early in the morning. Luckily, some Yeeps got there early and had gotten a table. The décor is chic and comforting. The whole restaurant is done in a white scheme with dark wood flooring.
I ordered the Traditional Eggs Benedict, which is made with Canadian bacon. It came with a choice of herb roasted potatoes, hash browns, steamed white/​brown rice, or fried rice (for $.75 more). That was a no brainer. Of course I went with the hash browns.
This place knows how to do breakfast right. My entrée was delicious. The eggs were poached just right. The hollandaise sauce didn’t separate and was very creamy. It was buttery with a touch of citrus. I was doing the happy dance when I ate the hash browns. It was a thin, huge piece of hash that was pan fried crispy on both sides. Inside, the potatoes were light and fluffy, not greasy at all.
Thanks to Lori L. for sharing her Blueberries and Cream Cheese Enchanting French Toast with the table. It was made with thick slices of Hawaiian Sweet Bread and sprinkled with powdered sugar. I took a bite and it was yummy.
Everyone at the table enjoyed what they were having. I can’t wait to come back and try the different items on the menu. Hmmm, then again I might just have to go for the eggs benedict.

I had brunch here on Sunday, 1.10.16 with a bunch of other Unilocalers & earned our Breakfast Badge. I ordered the traditional eggs Benedict with hash browns. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the Hollandaise sauce had a good flavor and a nice, smooth consistency & didn’t slide off the eggs.
I was offered a slice of the stuffed blueberry cream cheese French toast from Lori L. (Thanks for sharing Lori!). The stuffed French toast was the perfect little sweet bite to end our brunch.
Service is quick, friendly & attentive. Their new location has a beautiful bright, cheery dining area with comfortable seating, hardwood floors and also features an outdoor patio for dining alfresco.
Parking is valet only for $ 3, which will appear on your bill when you validate your ticket. Try to find street parking unless you want to chance it at Safeway or Market City.

Congratulations Sweet E’s on your new home! Don’t worry, they still have the same favorites, but now they have an outdoor seating area and $ 3 valet parking.
This new space is open and airy with the same local, beachy, ohana theme and there are an army of staff tag teaming to speed up service.
I’m an Egg Benny nut, I like the Traditional then I add extra tomato and spinach. If you are hungry, get the Extreme Mess, thus is a huge scramble with potatoes, meat and cheese. And save room for dessert! They make a cream cheese Stuffed French Toast, I like the blueberry. Covered with syrup, this is how I want to finish my meal.
Come with friends for a hearty breakfast or lunch. Relax and enjoy!
