Tea at 1024

My first time here and it was great. I came here for a birthday party and we all decided to be all fancy :)
Tea at 1024 is located in downtown! I worked in downtown for over a year and never knew this place existed!
Its a small, cute place located next to kan zamen.
When you walk into this place, its cute and very colorful. They have hats that you can wear during your tea time.
You have to make reservations and give them a head count because this place fills up fast
How it works: you pick your own teacup from selves and there’s a lot of cute ones to choose from and then you pick the tea you want. There’s a lot to choose from so I ended up picking the gauva black tea. It was yummy! And they have different colored teapots!
Food: they start you off with a salad which I really liked, with strawberries and blueberries.
Then they give you finger sandwiches and scones. They were delicious! Different types of sandwiches. Egg salad, cucumber, salmon and pesto, crab and olives, chicken curry. The scones were mango and pineapple! We ate as much as we could and we were so full and we had leftovers!
Dessert: wow just wow on the desserts! Chocolate sandwich, lilkoi lemon bars, and red velvet cupcakes! Omg! We were so full from sandwiches and scones but we had to try the desserts!
Overall: this place is great and worth it. If you want to have a fancy girls day then check this place out :)

Been seeing this place around on the website awhile back and been wanting to try it out for quite some time. Fortunately, i got a friend who happened to be coming to town and we decided to take on an adventure to the colorful Rococo style of boutique restaurant where everything seems to be like a dream and extravagance was just something meant for a romantic despair. Besides the conglomerate on the menu, many of us were sidetracked and nearly submerged into the fantasy world of fairy wings, feather swings, and magical hats of the Renaissance enchantment.
There were festive Mardi Gras frog, the Harry Potter sorting hat, the Hula girl floral wreath, and many other high fashion prestige style of hats that just may stun the pedestrians away. In the world of wonderland where I lost track of time for meter parking and reluctantly to wake myself up to head back to the reality.
We both had a combo of a sandwich, a house salad, and a tea. My friend ordered the Pita tea which was very good and I ordered peppermint it was just as cool. Time went by super fast and before we realized it, it was time to go on and I definitely look forward to the next visit to try the rest of other floats.

Just got done having tea for a fairly large party. It seems that the business is having its 17^th anniversary. When we didn’t get our tea for over an hour into the service I wondered why there wasn’t a better system in place to serve the customers. Food was delicious though. Just hard to swallow when we didn’t get water until after the tea.

I had the pleasure of attending a private baby shower here this past weekend and highly enjoyed myself.
The décor was just as I pictured it would be in my head. The staff was pleasant, attentive, and accommodating.
The food was delicious. Honestly, I’m not a big fan of sandwiches or tea, but I was pleasantly surprised. Their scones & strawberry green tea were addicting. I also loved the mint brownies (?) and pumpkin spice mini cupcakes. I also liked their egg salad sandwiches. All of the sandwiches and desserts that we could not finish were packed up and sent home with us which was a plus.
I would definitely come back for another ladies day out with our ohana in the near future!

No. No… No…
That’s the response for everything at this place. What’s the soup of the day? «No soup today» almost everything on the menu has with soup… Umm… Okay… Okay I’ll get a salad… Is it possible to get a different dressing than the onion based one? «No we don’t have any other dressings» so I asked what about Olive oil? «No we don’t have»… That’s a little weird but okay… How about a lemon? «No we don’t have lemons» you don’t have lemons and your a tea place? WTF! Alright what about some SALT & PEPPER? «No we don’t have» YOU DONT have S&P what kind of place is this? How can you be a restaurant with no S&P. Ordered a quiche and it never came until the rest of my family was done eating, asked 3 times… Wow… The server also had the nerve to come up to my mother and ask her where her father went? You mean her partner? WTF I don’t know how this place even has more than one star. Horrible experience.

Love love love this tea party experience! If you are looking for a cute way to spend a Saturday morning with girlfriends, look no further. For just $ 20 you can pick your own exotic tea and enjoy finger sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats, and MOST importantly, dress up! Don’t be mistaken and try on the hats for sale, but there is a wide selection of hats to choose from to liven up your tea party and take that awesome selfie. You also get to choose your tea set/​china and there are so many gorgeous options. From an eternal clumsy, be very careful! Pinkys up ladies!

This tea room is so fun and adorable! I went with my daughter after seeing her pics when she had went with a few friends. On their visit, they’d sat in the window seat and each worn one of the hats you can choose to wear during your visit. Their pics were totally instagram-​worthy!
When we went, we didn’t wear hats and we sat at a regular table but we had such a good time. You get to choose your tea cup from the shelf, which is so neat! There are many teas to choose from and when they bring the pot of tea, they also bring a cool little tea timer. We enjoyed our sandwiches, scones, and especially the delicious raspberry and spinach salad.
It also looks like there is a little section of the store with cute items for sale, like a gift shop.
I definitely want to return with my mom, as well as my mother-​in-​law. Next time, I’ll probably get the quiche too, since I’m all about stuffing myself, haha. Still, even though the sandwiches and desserts look small, they’re pretty filling, even for someone like me.

We had the Sofi afternoon tea, and it was fantastic!
We added the quiche, and were pleasantly surprised by the robust flavor and serving sizes.
Tisha was an amazing server as well!

LOVELY… would by my choice of word to describe my afternoon tea experiences. The teas were lovely, the sandwiches were lovely, the scones were lovely, the décor was lovely, and the staff too was lovely.
I love how you can choose your teacup and I love the vast selection of teas and sandwiches. All the teas I got to try tasted as good as they smelt, which is a big deal for me because I’ve tried so many teas elsewhere where the aroma was strong but unfortunately lacked in taste.
If you come with 3 or more people, you’ll get to taste all of the different sandwiches (unless requested otherwise). My favorites are 1) the cheese and tomato sandwich: such an unlikely combo, but works so well, 2) egg sandwich: can’t put my finger on it, but it’s not your typical egg sandwich, and 3) chicken curry sandwich: not a favorite among others, but I’m not complaining because more for me lol.
Their desserts may change from time to time, but no matter what we are served, they are always so scrumptious. My absolute favorite are the scones and the clotted cream. Oh my that clotted cream! It’s so good! I always bypass the preserves and cover my scones with just clotted cream.
Each visit were literally so lovely that I have since started collecting tea cups. I’m also on a mission to try other tea rooms while on my travels. So far, other than the US, I’ve had afternoon tea in Canada and New Zealand.

I’ve been dying to have a cute little tea party so I took my friend and my boyfriend to try this place out. It’s a cute little tea place off of Nimitz and you can either street park or pay to park in one of those parking lots. The prices are pretty fair for the amount you receive. All three of us ordered the Afternoon Tea ($ 20) which comes with an assortment of sandwiches, little desserts, a refreshing spinach and berry salad, and your choice of tea. Since we all ordered this, we were able to try every sandwich and dessert they had. Some were better than others but I like how light and little they were.
It was also a very entertaining experience. You’re able to choose your own tea cup and saucer that’s displayed on the wall and you’re able to dress up! This place is perfect for any age really, whether you’re young or mature you’ll definitely enjoy your time here with some girlfriends. (Or you can be like me and drag your boyfriend here too… He admits that he had a good time though)

I reached out to Tea at 1024 to host our local Lolita comm for an international Lolita Day celebration. The staff was super helpful with the reservation process and had everything ready when we arrived, so even though we had about 12 girls with us, service was speedy and efficient.
They had a huge assortment of teas to choose from, and the food was delicious. I like that you get to pick your own tea cup and saucer from the wall, so everyone gets to show off a bit of their personality.
Tea service included a seasonal salad with strawberries and feta, various finger sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream, and adorable tiny pastries. There was plenty of food for everyone.
Parking is a bit of an adventure, and the location would surprise you along a busy Chinatown street. But Tea at 1024 was a lovely experience and I thank them for hosting our group and being so friendly. They even helped us take group pictures.
Major plus: They have air conditioning. When you’re wearing three layers and two petticoats, you have no idea how important that is!

Came here to celebrate my cousin’s 7^th birthday! She is a little tomboy and her grandmother wanted to throw her a girly party — they asked me for ideas and Tea 1024 came to mind as, 1) I have always heard great things about it, 2) Whenever I am on Nuuanu, I see their window seating and its adorable and utterly girly, 3) No one in our party has ever gone, so it’d be a great experience for us all! We are so glad we came, our birthday girl had a great time! We had a great time too! It was so much fun that we weren’t even done with lunch yet and were talking about planning the time we all could come.
Well, we called ahead and made reservations for a party of 7! Reservations are really needed! Its small and not a lot of room, so if you are hoping to get some tea on the weekend, call ahead.
The food was great! We had afternoon low tea — we had a nice salad first, then the sandwiches came — my faves were the olive and crab and smoked salmon. It also came with a tray of different desserts. Also, after choosing your hat and tea cup, you choose your tea flavor!
Absolutely delightful time! We shall be back! :)

High tea without high prices!
First off the portions are quite big. It’s not your typical, I’ll eat like a bird meal like some other high tea places. We had a lot of leftovers.
For the tea set, don’t get the soup unless you really really really need it because the salad was AMAZING! With blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, all on a bed of spinach, sprinkled with feta & tossed with a sweet onion dressing? YES! For sandwiches, we got an assorted set, but the cucumber avocado and chicken curry made our tummies happy. And if you don’t want dessert, there are other tea sets without it.
Overall staff is really nice and genuine for making your time special. This atmosphere is girly, PINK, and fun. For a girls day out or mother and daughter bondingi, this is a place for you without breaking your wallet! So put your fancy hats on and pinkies up!

I absolutely love coming here for afternoon low tea with my girlfriends. This place is totally adorable. You go in, pick a hat, and pick your own teacup set. I always go with the Sofie’s Afternoon Tea option. It comes with a wide array of sandwiches, pastries, and a QUICHE! If you’re having tea with two or more friends, I recommend allowing them to give you all of the sandwiches instead of picking a certain type. You can all just share various flavors, and I promise that’s the best selection, and the best way to experience it all.
My favorite tea, although I always try something new, always comes down to the house tea, which I think is raspberry and rose. Floral, fruity, and refreshing! I highly recommend this place for a quaint time with the ladies. Pinkies up!

Yesterday a few of us from the Hawaii Lolita community celebrated our International Lolita Day event here! Everything was perfect. So relaxing and food was delicious. It was Saturday so we couldn’t get the quiche but instead we got a spinach and fruit salad with feta, an assortment of tea sandwiches, scones and sweets, and a pot of tea for each of us. It was so hot and muggy outside but thankfully Tea at 1024 has amazing ac! XD
Cons: chairs are a little wobbly though, so be cautious. They’re plastic and I notice that one leg of my chair kept dipping. That was really the only bad thing about this place.

I had afternoon tea with two of my good friends, on a weekday. We chose the Afternoon Tea set, and chose our own tea (I got the pomegranate and guava white tea) and two kinds of sandwiches (smoked salmon and chicken curry). I used a darling little floral tea cup and saucer chosen from their collection.
The ambiance is very calm and sweet. We sat in the window area (and got our photos taken by two different tourist groups, lol). Two of us wore fancy hats, chosen from the hat rack near the door. I purchased a little tea strainer that’s shaped like a little man– you put the loose leaf tea in his pants and he holds onto the side of the tea cup to steep your tea. So cute!
The food was delicious– especially the scones, tiny chocolate muffin, cheesecake cupcake, and lilikoi bar! I think their desserts are seasonal. We all had a great time.

Went to 1024 some time ago and had a pretty good time. Yes, I am a guy. Yes, I went to afternoon tea. No, I was not the only guy there.
Food was solid. Décor and environment was definitely on the fluffy princess side of things. Hats adorn walls and can be picked to wear throughout your tea service. I, elected to not wear one. You also choose your teaware.
As for the food, I loved the spinach salad and enjoyed the sandwiches, pastries and desserts.
I’m usually drinking Assam tea and I found the sugar cubes to be convenient and fit with my preferences (just the right size w/​a cup). Service for the amount of people was quick and the price point was definitely the biggest plus, IMO.

I love the idea of tea and little sandwiches. I always go here with my boyfriend when we have the time. It is a great place for a DATE if she is into this kind of thing or you are trying to spice things up. V-​day here is packed and you need a reservation.
The hours are from 11 – 2 T-​Saturday. No reservation needed unless there is an event like V-​day. They will be close @ 2pm if no one is there. But if you call ahead and let them know your are coming @ 1:30pm they are okay with that (no last calls). I’m still wishing they had longer hours so I can eat there after school and work.
The service is great! They always give a great presentation and description of the tea, desserts, and sandwiches. They sometimes switch up the desserts which is nice. And they accommodate you if you don’t like a particular dessert. I personally don’t like cupcakes but they switched it out with a brownie for me (which was amazing it’s a chewy but crunchy on outside little brownie).
The food and tea is affordable. It is $ 25 for a salad, tea, mini desserts (scones, lemon bar, brownies) and 2 sandwiches (the salmon and the egg is the best). It doesn’t seem like you will get full from what you get but you do. I’m full the whole day after eating here. I always alternate in eating the sandwiches and desserts so I’m able to eat everything.
OVERALL its great place you should go just to try it out.

My friend and I went in here today for the experience and seeing as most people on Unilocal love it here we figured, why not give it a try?
First of all, street parking… We were lucky to have found one as soon as we got there. But I think a quarter gave you 7 mins. We put in an hour but that wasn’t enough so we had to add half an hour.
When you enter they ask if you have a reservation. You don’t really need it though. There are hats for you to wear while you’re there. I didn’t put and on just because I’m not sure when (if the do) wash and sanitize them.
Once we ordered. I’d have to say, the tea was the best part of our entire meal. I did enjoy the house salad as well. The sandwiches… I’d have to say some were ok and some weren’t. The ones that were funky would be the tomatoes and cheddar and the egg salad was too sweet, too much sugar I guess. Um the chicken curry was alright but I couldn’t figure out what was the crunchy part in the sandwich. We would prefer napkins over the towel to clean our hands though.
Overall everything was nice. The girls there were really sweet as well. Its a good experience to try it out but I don’t think I would be returning. Its one of those things for fun with your girl friends.
I gave this place 3 stars because the food was average. The price range I felt was alright too. It was salad, tea, 2 sandwiches and a few pieces of dessert for $ 20.95. I liked how the workers were really nice and its just a good not loud environment to talk with your friends on your day off. I felt this place could have gotten a 4 with more selections on the food. But I must say, I love the tea… I wish Starbucks made them as good as this place.

I had high tea with my coworkers. You can pick your own tea cup and tea. The food entrée came with spinach and berries salad, quiche, platter of tea sandwichs, scones with clotted cream and jam and mini desserts. My favorite tea was the lilikoi and the promegrante and guava.
I think this is a great place to hangout with friends. You can a dressed up with hats and fluffy boa! The only thing is this place is its small/​tight. My party was 12 people. Definitely not a place for baby/​children!!!
