Guerric and the Guru team are excellent. The thing I appreciate most about them is their honesty. Guerric is a straight shooter and doesn’t bullshit or try to swindle you. If you like their product, great, if not don’t buy it. He is not pushy, it is what it is.
We got aluminum sliding doors and picture frame windows for our house and holy cow did it turn out great! Good value and excellent service!

This is an update to my previous review. After reading my Unilocal review while on the mainland over Thanksgiving week, Guerric sent me an apology via email and then followed up to make an appointment to come give me a quote after his return. He made an appointment for a site visit for a specific time (NOT a two hour window) and even showed up early! I received the formal quote via email within a couple of days, but due to having a full house over the holidays I have not had time to decide how much if any of the work (window and door replacements) I will ask them to do for me. I do appreciate the apology and multiple follow-​up texts/​emails since the initial appointment. (One side note: I was disappointed to discover that not all the products shown on their website are available in Hawaii — they are affiliated with a mainland company, and the shipping costs of some of the doors make it prohibitively expensive to sell the products locally.)

We first called Screens and Things for a quote as we saw the company at the BIA show in Blaisdell last August. However, I found The Glass Guru’s website and reviewed some of the reviews the customers made so I suggested to my husband to check them out. We scheduled for someone to come out and give us a quote. Guerric, the owner, came over. His quote was way better than the first company, and patching and caulking is included in their service. In short, we paid the deposit and waited. Today, our Breezeway Louvre windows got installed and we are very pleased with it. Although the job is still not 100% done as we still have one more window to be replaced, we are very happy and satisfied with their service so far. Guerric’s crew is very polite, fast, and did a pretty good job. We won’t hesitate to refer them to someone who’s in need of windows.

Logan was awesome. Came to my place early and changed out my cracked window glass in about an hour. He even helped me unstuck a window free of charge.

I am updating my review to inform you that my installation was completed this morning, by Logan of The Glass Guru of Honolulu, and it looks spectacular. Both his work and demeanor were incredibly professional. Only the center portion of the window was broken, leaving behind large glass shards still connected to the frame. Logan expertly cut and removed the large shards of glass without shattering them (which was important for us because the window is between our living room and front porch where the kids play and everyone leaves their slippers). Clean up was done very well and he cleaned the glass so well that I think a pigeon might fly into it. Aside from his excellent work, I was very impressed with how polite and cordial Logan was with my elderly grandmother and Uncle. He was professional, but also showed the aloha spirit.
I am in the process of buying a new home and I’m very glad to have found my glass guys should I need any glass or window work completed. Thank you Kelly, Logan, and Guerric! Aces on aces.

I needed 2 table tops, one of which was an odd shape. I took my cut out with dimensions. They finished the work in 2 days. They even placed the glass on my cut out, and it was perfect. Not only was the price very reasonable, they were also professional.

The Glass Guru is by far the best glass shop on the island. Their staff is amazing, their prices are reasonable, and the quality of their products and attention to detail is impeccable.

Guerric and his crew did a fantastic job replacing all of our windows after the seals broke and we got foggy windows in our Ewa by Gentry home. The price was right and they told me exactly how the process would work– including timeline for delivery– and they delivered just like they said they would. After numerous quotes from a various window replacement companies, Glass Guru was not only the best price, but the best service hands down. Installed with little downtime and did an amazing job. Don’t waste time, call them first.

Just had glass shower door installed by The Glass Guru and we are loving it! What a terrific, professional-​looking job! I had Glenn from Ace Glass and Metals come to the house to measure for a piece of glass for a small desk. The glass required was 38 ¾ «x 18 7÷8» (with two 1 ½″ holes cut for cords).
Glenn said that he sent me a quote but I did not receive it until the third attempt — three days after he delivered the glass and a bill to my place of employment.
The bill was a whopping $ 495.00!!!
I emailed the dimensions to the Glass Guru. They got it first try. They quoted $ 67.85 but said they did not do the holes but they could send it out for an additional $ 40.00. I said it was okay, no holes needed. The glass was ready less than a week later and I picked it up.
The only difference between the two is that I picked the glass up. That said if I had the holes done it would have only cost me $ 107.85.
That means Ace Glass was charging me $ 387.15 for an initial consultation and delivery (sort of)!

The Glass Guru EASILY earns five stars. I wish I could give a sixth star.
TGG installed several new Breezway louver windows throughout our house. The new windows look and work great.
From initial contact, to the estimate, to the actual installation, to follow up, TGG was outstanding. Professional, pro-​active, knowledgable, friendly, and responsive at every step.
The owner/​CEO is a guy named Guerric (like Eric with a G on the front). The foreman is named Michael. Both are very cool dudes.
I got a competing bid from another company. This other company took a very long time to get the estimate to me, and then it was insanely expensive — way, way out of our budget.
In comparison, Guerric got the estimate to me within three days of his visit. He demonstrated a clear understanding of what we wanted and what it would take to install our windows. And in the end his price was less than half of the other bid! This brought the price just within our budget, which is the only reason we were able to proceed at all.
Guerric is one of those rare business people who earnestly wants to make his customers happy, and will strive to make sure he doesn’t let you down. Very professional. He’s also an incredibly nice guy.
As a side note:
If you’re thinking about replacing your windows, check out Breezway louver windows. After exhaustive research spanning many months, we decided these are the best. You get the main benefits of traditional jalousie windows, like almost 100% air flow and no horizontal bars blocking your light/​view. But unlike traditional jalousie windows, the Breezways lock tight, blocking out noise and dust. And if you ask for Breezway’s «Stronghold system,» the panes of glass are tempered and are fastened in place with pins, so your windows are secured against break-​ins.
TGG did an excellent job of installing these high-​end Breezway windows for us. When the manufacturer made a mistake with our windows, TGG went to bat for us to convince the manufacturer to give us a free upgrade.

We had an appointment at 11am today and because he was early and didn’t want to wait because «his time is valuable» he left. When we called 5 minutes later to say we were there he was offended because we said «come back» not «please come back» so he refused to do business with our company. Be warned not to say anything that might offend Guerric if you want to get an estimate. He DID give referrals to other companies, though, so that was nice. Hopefully they will be able to wait the extra 5 minutes so I can buy some glass from them!

I had a very nice Home Office desk with a glass tabletop that broke. Rather than buy a nw desk I contacted Ashley at the Glass Guru and asked if she could help. She asked for the specifics (Size, type corners, tempered glass, etc) and gave me an estimate over the phone. As any good shopper would do, I called as many glass companies on island to compare rates and no one compared (not to mention, many did not even offer tempered glass).
I called Ashley back and placed my order (which had to come from mainland). Within a few short weeks, the tabletop was delivered and I had my desk back.

I broke my window with a batarang (yes, a batarang from batman) and the job was going to be a bit nuts. I called the glass guru and got a pretty good estimate compared to the competition around town.
The glass was ordered and I got a call a couple of days later that I could come and pick it up. The receptionist was very nice and one of the employees that was working there was nice enough to give me some small metal tabs for my wood framed window… for free.
I just finished the job this morning (after a not so great glass scoring job), and it turned out great thanks to some help from a friend and the Glass Guru.

They were so kind and understanding. They are affordable and we received our order in a timely manner. Our glass didn’t fit the table and the owner reordered the glass free of charge. If you ever need glass for anything these guys are the absolute best. I have a china hutch that needs a piece of glass and I will be bringing it here next week!
