Dinner service at the bar is the best, especially if Rocky or Edy are working. They have a great sense of humor and provide excellent recommendations customer service. The food is great, best items were the kalua pork nachos, coconut shrimp, miso butter fish and the Hula Girl omelette for breakfast.

Ate here several times during our stay at HHV. I would say the best restaurant on the property. Breakfast — nice selection, decent prices, and who doesnt enjoy breakfast at the beach? Cocktails — pre-dinner drinks and apps around 5pm one night, even watched the sunset. Pork nachos were great. Friday night fireworks — bring your patience. If you want a patio seat for the 7:45 fireworks, you gotta get there by 5. I think we checked in at 5:30, were told an hour, and it was more like 1.5 hrs. My kids were dying. Food was great tho. Margherita pizza, calamari, coffee rubbed steak, all great. Ribs i would prob not recommend.

Went two different times — once for dinner then the next day to watch a football game at the bar… While my salad was amazing, we were a little put off by the restaurant closing seemingly early at 10:30pm and feeling rushed to leave — and it was the first night of our vacation. We were dining on the outdoor patio — very nice, loved the fire feature and view of the beach. My salad was the Kale, Quinoa & Blueberry Salad with Seared Ahi, Strawberry, Feta, Toasted Almonds, Acai Berry Vinaigrette — spectacular! Our second visit was to the bar, as we wanted to watch a football game and have some food and beer. I’m not usually a fan of nachos, but several people recommended the Kalua Pork Nachos — and my goodness they were AWESOME! It came with Guacamole, Pineapple Salsa, Sour Cream, Chipotle Queso Sauce… Other than our rushed feeling the night before, the overall impression is definitely 4-star!

My family and I stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village the last time we were in Hawaii, and this restaurant is right in all of the resort action. We decided to dine here twice, once for dinner and a second time during lunch. During our dinner meal here, we were told the wait would be about 45 minutes. We decided to walk around the resort while we waited, however, the wait actually ended up being about 15 – 20 minutes and were on the other side of the resort when the buzzer went off. *Nice to know that the buzzer has that far of a reach ;). Anyways, we were seated indoors but I would definitely recommend outdoor seating instead — that way you can get a view of the beach and also be closer to the live entertainment! The lady that was singing the night that we dined here was really good! I wish that I got to hear her perform again. We decided to order the Island Ceviche to start with. I will say that their take on ceviche is quite interesting and is paired with taro chips — Not really what I had expected and would not order it again. My sister and I shared the B&B Burger. That was cooked well and tasted good. My mom got the Seafood pasta. She didn’t really like this one and the entrée left her with a bad impression of the restaurant for the second time we decided to dine here. My dad ordered the BBQ Ribs. He had been craving ribs for awhile now but also didn’t like how they came out. They were a bit too dry. We decided to dine here a second time, this time during lunch since we were at the resort beach. This second time I think my family had a better experience overall. First, we got seated outdoors, which my dad really liked so that we could enjoy the sunshine and the beach views. My sister, mom, and I shared the Tropics burger and the Diamond Head Cobb. I definitely recommend the cobb salad. Really tasty and fresh. The burger, like the one I had eaten at dinner was also good too. Nice to know they’re consistent with their burgers. My dad also opted for a burger which he enjoyed as well. If you’re staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, this restaurant is definitely a convenient place to dine at.

We ate here 2x because it was convenient. The food was really good, just had to wait for a long time to be seated both times. Also, the second time, we were not tended to quickly. We actually waitied for about 10 minutes before my husband got up and addressed someone. The live music was great and the atmosphere was great too. We ate the green beans and pizza(the sausage pizza & the Margherita pizza).

Once we checked into the Hilton, it was time to find a place to eat! Looking out of my balcony, I saw Tropics in the distance. My sister also told me they’ve been there a few time for the sunsets, so I thought why not?! It’s super convenient. We got sat immediately and in the outside patio(I used Open Table to book the reservations). Our server was nice but interesting. She was definitely a chatty Cathy, especially when she found out that my mom was local and that I was from Hawaii. It was nice but a little lengthy in conversation. No worries though, it didn’t ruin my time at all. The outside seating is super awesome. Great views of the beach and it’s enclosed with a large net to keep the birds out. Super awesome. At night, we were treated to live music which was the cherry on top of the cake! Here’s what I had for dinner: –Island Caesar for $ 16. Hearts of Romaine, Parmesan, Smoked Bacon, Caesar dressing, croutons, taro chips and I added chicken for another $ 4. Just your typical caesar salad, nothing really special. I didn’t have any taro chips so that’s bumming. The chicken was a little rubbery as well, so I have a feeling it was previously frozen. –Tropics Burger for $ 17. Certified Angus Beef Patty, Lettuce, Tomato, Onions, Pickles, choice of cheese. I liked how they cut it in half so my mother and I could share. Honestly, I’m going to have to be consistent and say it was just your average burger. Nothing really stood out; kind of expected it with a personalized name like the Tropics Burger. I did like the crispiness of the fries though. All in all, I really enjoyed the view and the ambiance. Next time I go, I’ll try something out of the ordinary. It’s definitely worth it if you’re intentions are to see the sunset!

We love this place! It’s got a beautiful view, right on the beach. We went there twice, once for lunch and once for drinks and dessert. Awesome service both times! The wait was short and food was awesome! I recommend giving this place a visit.

Stayed at the Hilton for a few days and came here for breakfast a few times. The Mac Attack pancakes, buttermilk pancakes with macadamia nuts and white chocolate chips, was so delicious. Came with coconut syrup to top it off. I ate the entire stack the coffee here was also AMAZING. Finally, if you have Jessica as your server you are lucky. She took care of everything we needed(happily) and even remembered our order a few days later when we returned. Thank you Jessica!

We ate breakfast here 3 mornings during our 5-night stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki. Each day we were seated promptly and a server stopped by almost immediately offering coffee and juice(unfortunately not fresh squeezed). On several days we had the buffet which had an ample assortment of fresh fruit, breads, eggs and meats and was very good although at $ 25 was a bit pricy. The food arrives pretty quickly and the setting right on the beach is really nice.

We hit up happy hour. The bartender was Awesome. There Mai Tai’s were one of the choices. They were made way good! The Strawberry Daiquiri .mmm. and the Lava Flows were my favorite. We will come here again before we leave.

Eat, drink and enjoy the view! Tropics is located on the Hilton Village grounds. The view of the beach and sunsets are wonderful. They have quite a bit of patio seating so many can enjoy it. They also offer live music in the evenings. Definitely a great time. Service here was pretty good. Our waitresses were both friendly and very accommodating. There wasn’t a long wait for our food either. We were very happy with both meals enjoyed here. The Kalua pork nachos were great! Besides the flavorful pork, it’s topped with guacamole, pineapple salsa and a chipotle Queso sauce. Plus our waitress was very generous to bring a bowl of extra Queso in case we wanted it. The Island Fish tacos weren’t a slouch either. The corn tortillas are brought the table with the fish and cabbage inside. On the plate are 3 toppings of your choice to put on top — spicy mayo, pineapple salsa and edamame hummus. I will attest that all three are delicious on the tacos. It’s a casual setting with a large inside bar if you’d prefer. Tropics delivers a great meal & entertainment.

Mediocre food for ridiculous prices. Upon check in at the Hilton waikiki village beach resort, we decided to stop here for dinner since it was right on property. First mistake. Usually food right on property is bad, I learned this in Mexico but thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt. I had the shrimp burger with fries and it was so tiny for $ 20. It also didn’t have much flavor and was slathered with a mayo sauce, so much so that it was all I tasted. The mai tai was good though but for $ 15, it damn well better be. Should have been much bigger for the price. Then on a Sunday morning we went and had breakfast here cause it was close and they were playing the seahawks game. I ordered the hawaiian omelet for $ 23 and it was dry as crap. It was way overcooked, needed something with flavor besides the canned chopped pineapple they stuck in this. I wouldn’t have came back if it wasn’t for being close and starving with a small infant in tow. There are way better places off property.

Tropics is great, the highlighting casual restaurant of this hotel area. I highly recommend coming here if you are in need of an amazing, casual, tasty meal. Service: 5 stars, always attentive & fast service here. I think you just need to be careful during beak dinning hours but otherwise every time we came here we were sat quickly and our food was brought to us within 15 minutes tops. We were always sat right upon entering. The wait staff is very friendly attentive, great people who at least act like they enjoy their job. Food: the food here was above my initial expectation. I thought this would be a cheesy busy hotel restaurant that was an after thought but after eating here I can tell you the food is pretty darn good and inexpensive. What I tried & would recommend: *fish & chips– crispy, flavorful, and large pieces with great tartar sauce. *loco Moco– basic but tasty. A great Hawaiian breakfast staple that doesn’t disappoint.

Staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and hungry, I stopped in, reviewed the menu, nothing looked appealing(which doesn’t happen to me often) and I left. The location is prime, but lots of small birds flying around the tables and the things I mentioned above take away from what should be a great spot.

This place is seriously great. It has everything going for it. Great food(including generous portions and decent prices), friendly service, live music and not to mention beach front! The ambience this place carries is extremely inviting. Sit back, relax, have a drink and enjoy yourself. You’re in Hawaii.

I was kind of grossed out eating here. The food during this trip has been surprisingly affordable and delicious but this was ruined our streak. My husband got a bbq burger and I got the regular. It was a frozen beef patty and frozen fries — really? For a $ 20 burger I did not expect that at all. The drink I ordered(kona wave I believe) was okay but no where near worth $ 14. Service is slow and nothing to brag about. My warning? Just go find some cheaper lunch with an actual view of something other than a net.

This was the first place my boyfriend and I decided to eat at after arrived for our vacation and it was a HUGEMISTAKE. We thought since it was close to our hotel and we were hungry we would just try it out. When we got there it was about a 30 minute wait so we decided we would wait at the bar and just order a couple drinks. Well the bar was so busy with only 2 bartenders running around and we waited forever for our 2 drinks. As we finally sat down to our table outside we noticed that there are birds flying everywhere inside and outside of the restaurant trying to get the scraps of food. With that being said since there was birds everywhere then you can only imagine how much bird crap there was on the floors and chairs. Talk about not sanitary at all. I mean the outside seating did have a netting so the birds couldn’t come in and bother anyone but trust me they were everywhere! Now for the food… Where do I start? Ordered the loco moco and it was the most bland thing ever. I can get a better loco moco back at my home at L&L! We also ordered the tuna poki and I took a bite and it the so called«fresh tuna» was hard and chewy! It was gross so we sent it back with the quickness. I was not going to pay for something that I only took one bite out of and didn’t enjoy at all. If you’re visiting and are really hungry then don’t come here. I would suggest going somewhere that the locals go for some real good authentic food. This place just seemed to be convenient since it was close and walking distance to our hotel but it was a waste of our time and money.

Service was great. Food was just what you’d expect from a resort restaurant. My burger was pretty good. The accompanying fries were cold. Guess the food sat a while before being served. Our server, Luke, replaced them within 2 minutes. Dinner for 5 was $ 100. Coming from SF we thought this was a deal! This restaurant is beachfront. It has great views.

We originally had reservations for Benihana, but changed our mind last minute since we ate at Kobe a few days before. After walking around the Hilton Hawaiian Resort at 5:30pm on a Friday night, we came across Tropics which is a restaurant and bar that is situated right off of the pathway to the beach. For our party of 3, the wait time was about 15-mins for our outdoor seating request. We hoped to get seated where the live music was playing and we did. Score! Had a a great view of the sunset as well. Our server greeted us quickly, offered menus and asked for our drink order. The cocktail menu looked fabulous, so I ordered a Blue Hawaii and it was perfection on this beautiful warm day in Waikiki. You can never go wrong with a blue drink! It was my birthday, so I wanted to order something special. I selected the Roasted Opah«Dynamite» dish for $ 30. Presentation and flavors were classy and phenomenal. The fish sat on top of ginger and rice couscous, sautéed hamakura mushrooms and spinach, pickled ginger and scallions. The orange sauce was a fabulous mixture of a spicy mayonnaise and roe. I enjoyed every bite! For dessert, my hubs surprised me with a decadent brownie topped off with two scoops of ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce and cherries. I learned it was complimentary, so Thank You to Tropics! Another plus was they offer Kamaaina discount. Score! The live music was fun and most customers were having a blast dancing in their seats and singing a long. I always love this type of ambiance. 5 Stars!!! It was a wonderful birthday dinner!

This restaurant is on the hotel grounds of the Hilton Hawaiian village and had a Chili’s feel to it just from appearance. However, the atmosphere is much quieter and the service is mediocre at best. It took quite a while for our food and to receive our check to pay and sign after. The food was pretty good. The kalua pork and pineapple pizza was awesome and they mix up a pretty good adiós. Its on the beach so you have a pretty good view of the water and Diamond Head depending on where you’re seated. This restaurant is good for grabbing decent food if you’re not looking to venture outside of Hawaiian Village. Dinner 5÷7÷2014
