They SCAMMED & STOLE money from my grandma!
My grandmother went to the Upnext cultural Plaza a few days ago to get her phone fixed. The person took he phone and immediately charged her $ 25 after telling my grandmother that they were able to fix it and to come back the next day. She then returned the very next day and the person at Upnext wireless told her that her phone could not be fixed and that they did not have cash to refund her $ 25. They then told her to come back the following day to get her money back. Again my grandmother went back and this time they told her they it was against their policy to give her $ 25 back. On top of that they called the police on my grandmother and had her escorted out of their store. And she was defenseless and confused because she couldn’t speak English. The main reason she went to this location was because they spoke Chinese but they took advantage of her. They never gave her any proof of payment such as a receipt. I expected them to act professionally but instead they kept making my grandmother bus down only to be told to come back and at the very end they stole her money.
Can I give negative stars? That should really be an option.

The owner of the store said that they unlocked the personal pass code and said my grandmas phone was stolen and that they told her to return it to its owner. THE PHONE WAS HERS!
First off, they didn’t unlock anything. They returned the phone and said that they couldn’t fix it.
Second, they told her to come back tomorrow for her $ 25. She did that for 3 days and then they called HPD when she wasn’t about to leave without her $ 25.
This shows how a story can be altered when a grandma can’t speak English and is taken advantage of.
FINAL UPDATE***
About 2 weeks later, moms friend was able to get grandma’s money back. & a few days after I posted this review on Unilocal and on their FB page… Then they took down their FB page. If this isn’t an admission of guilt idk what is. Hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else. But Cultural Plaza called me as well to let me know they’re making sure they talk to the managers of this store and then the representative actually got me mixed up with another case of fraud and scam… So this proves there are more out there who have been victims.

Extremely bad customer service. Went into on a Sunday to pay for phone bill. Time was about 1250pm. Never got greeted. Sat down next to the worker. He was eating and speaking now Chinese with other Chinese people. Waited for a few minutes. Still no acknowledge. I asked if I can pay my phone bill. Got ignored. Asked again and he said to wait cause he’s eating. He looked pissed cause I couldn’t wait for him to finish eating. I left. Probably will never return. Is this behavior normal with Chinese people???
