Reason: UYE Pitch Perfect 2 Part Deux
Some of us could not make the Unilocal Movie Club UYE screening of Pitch Perfect 2 at Regal Dole Theaters on Sunday May, 17, 2015. When I found out my work schedule on Friday night I noticed that I was scheduled to work on Sunday night but I have a night off from work on Tuesday night. I had messaged Jules to see if she and Nadine were planning on a Pitch Perfect 2 viewing. She had informed me to be on the lookout for another UYE scheduled for Tuesday night. I checked the events page on Sunday night and quickly said «I’m In!»
Tuesday arrives. I arrive at the Consolidated Ward Theaters around 5:30pm and noticed the long line. I checked the movie schedules and noticed there was a showing for 6:30pm and another for 7:15pm.
Almost approaching the 6pm hour and I see Terrance approaching. Cencia comes afterwards. I had to message Nadine to find out if we were watching the 7:15pm showing. Nadine messages me back YES. Cencia goes in line ahead of Terrance and myself.
As soon as we got our tickets we waited for other Unilocal members who signed up for the movie. I see Kristine and Nadine. Kristine then introduce us to Matt (a friend of Alex). Nadine says «Go inside and save us seats. I have to wait for Jules and Victoria to give them their tickets.»
We head inside and stand in line at the food concession. I opted to have a medium size popcorn to munch on. No drinks… trying to cut down on drinking carbonated sodas.
Theater 9 is where we plan on watching the movie. Ushers warning people that there is a line starting near the men’s restroom. We make our way to the line and chitchat until the rest of the group arrives.
Gradually the line starts to get longer behind of us. We see Nadine, Victoria, Jules, and two of Jules guests. They got in line with us. We got the okay from the ushers to proceed to enter the theater. Now where to sit? It looks like our group of 10 people will be seating in the same row.
Last minute arrival was one guest of Jules. Once everyone got situated in their seats it was time to watch the previews and Pitch Perfect 2. The movie was hilarious. Makes me wonder if a Pitch Perfect 3 will be in the works in the future.
Big mahalos to Nadine and Kristine for co-​hosting this UYE Pitch Perfect 2 Part Deux event. Good seeing fellow Unilocalers for a night out at the movies. Also good in meeting new people for the first time.

Unilocal Hawaii has some of the cutest, sweetest gals ever — really! I want to hang out with them all of the time! We always have fun and laugh a lot!
BACKGROUND INFO
This UYE started because we saw a free screening of «Pitch Perfect Singalong», sponsored by the Hawaii International Film Festival at the Ward Courtyard this past Thursday. We weren’t able to go with the Unilocal Hawaii Movie Club on Sunday to see Pitch Perfect 2, so Kristine C. & I volunteered to cohost this UYE.
LOGISTICS
We anticipated a large crowd because it was $ 6 movie night at Ward Theater. Some of us parked «far away» at TJ Maxx and in the warehouse areas, but it was worth it! We all came out of the theater feeling inspired and happy! It’s such a great story about individual talents joining together to conquer seemingly impossible feats! It reminded me of Unilocal Hawaii — each of us have different interests and strengths, but we have so many other things in common — especially teamwork and positive attitudes!
A LESSON LEARNED
We were debating about seating arrangements: should we split up into 2 groups of 5 or all sit in the same row? Turns out that we sat together, side-​by-​side, — as if we wanted to stay together — very interesting!

As I walked up the stairs to the theater on a Tuesday evening, I told myself «What?! How?!» While I stood there looking at the view of the line for Tuesdays cheap night ($ 6). Yes it was packed! My Aunties nephews and their cousins and their aunties son and their second cousins were present at the theater, eager to watch Pitch Perfect 2. I kid, I kid. The line was long enough but it also went fast. Thank goodness I met Nadine before hand to get my tickets. Auntie Nadine knows how to make magic and gather everyone. She even brought Garlic Salmon Sushi from Jay’s Bakery & Sushi (in Kaneohe) and they just happened to be a brand new business. Check them out! I know I will. Terrance Y., thank you for our bottomless pit of popcorn. Very smart!
Pitch Perfect 2, (I call it PP2 for short) was a funny and hilarious movie. Lots of adult humor and the perfect movie to see with a group of friends. Our fun group consisted of not only Auntie Nadine and I, also Jeana P., Jules Y., Terrance Y, Cencia C., Victoria M. and our guest Matt H. (Alexander G.‘s good friend) and others I may have missed. Thank you for attending the UYE everyone! Thank you for being so much fun. Looking forward to another gathering.
