Rest in peace Yokozuna. When I worked at Ala Moana back in 2006 I ate almost exclusively. They had the best spam and egg musubi. I loved their fried chicken and their teri chicken. They had great curry… hell. everything about this place was awesome… until that fateful day. The owner of Yokozuna fell very ill. His wife who worked there(the lady always calling out to the Japanese tourists) had to sell the place and she remained to work for the new owner. Eventually they closed it down and they opened up Da Hui’s Kitchen in it’s place. My heart broke that day. Unfortunately Da Hui could never live up to what Yokozuna used to provide for me… especially since Yokozuna would offer a 50% discount on anything in the cooling unit half an hour before they closed. Man those were some good times.

What?!? First to review? Cool. This is a great to-go place for Japanese food. They have sushi, soba noodles(tasted pretty good for being prepacked), musubi(salmon or the regular spam n egg), inari and other goodies packed for easy food on the go. Seriously, they are located right next to the entrance across from the Curry House. I tried the salmon musubi because they don’t have that here on the«mainland»; be careful with that wrapper though… I was so anxious I practically ripped the seaweed off the rice(believe it or not, there were directions on how to unwrap it). They also have a regular menu from which you could order from and the food is made fresh if you have that kind of time. But if you’re last day in Hawaii is spent here and if you have to be at the airport within a few hours, have dinner here.
