Red River Brake & Muffler

I hope you don’t have car trouble while driving in East Texas, but if you do, by all means check in with the good folks at Red River Muffler and Brake. My wife and I were on the Hot Rod Power Tour last week, coming home from Memphis in our old 1942 Ford Panel Truck when the collector came lose from the passenger side header. I pulled off the Interstate at the Hooks exit and asked for a hardware store or if possible a muffler shop. I was directed to RR Muffler and Brake. I told the manager what had happened, really just wanting to use his lift, when he said, «Sure, pull it in here.» We visited about hot rods, the Power Tour, his 3 years in Afghanistan, and everything but the weather. He crawled underneath, fixed the problem and refused to take any payment for his efforts. Not saying he won’t charge you, it is a for profit business after all, but these people are golden in my books.
