Owners Tracey Shingledecker and Kelly O’Donnell search the Euopean country side and antique fairs for pieces to add to their collection of 18^th and 19^th century antiques. Add in a mix of industial and mid century modern pieces and what you have is the amazing collection that the 2 Lucy’s have assembled. Their motto is «we only buy what we love».

History

Established in 2006.

In 2004, Tracey was building a new home in the Memorial area of Houston. Among design features planned was a dramatic, «old’ fireplace for the home’s great room. A search locally and regionally was unproductive which led her to consider a European source. Before she set out for France, Tracey invited a friend Kelly to accompany her. They toured the fairs and byways, and small towns throughout France.

In the process they learned a great deal about sourcing antiques, negotiating purchases and dealing with the red tape of shipping goods from French coastal ports to the Port of Houston. The experience led them to discussion on creating a business to import European antiques and accessories to Houston and in 2005 the company named 2 Lucy’s was formed. The name reflects the founders’ similarity to the «Lucy» character created by Lucille Ball in «I love Lucy».
