AFC Urgent Care

Update: Received a voicemail from the office manager. I called her back. She said that the owner had told her to offer me a full refund if I took down this review. Hmm…

The staff at Doctors Express acted quickly and professionally to prevent serious damage when infection swelled my hand like a balloon after a dog bite. I got topical, oral and injectable antibiotics and a tetanus booster. Everything was billed to insurance, I was in and out in 45 minutes, and I’m on the mend. We even shared a laugh or two. The office is a hole in the wall by Randall’s, but there’s nothing small about the service.

Son injured his wrist, which turned out to be a bubble fracture. AFC put on the worst cast that I have ever seen on a child. Fortunately, my son had an appointment the next day with his podiatrist, who saw the cast and immediately commented that it looked painful, which my son totally agreed. My son had a nice fiberglass waterproof cast put on at TCH, for less than the $ 50 AFC charged us. These doctors have no empathy at all, as they seem to have a different view of patient service that we take for granted here in the States. It’s all about the money.

The service was excellent and the office was clean. I was able to actually come in on short notice and fill my prescriptions at the nearby Randalls.

Went in for coughing and severe joint/​body pain. Was seen by a doctor within 30 min (there were several people in the waiting room). #1

I received great service and care here. I have been to local pharmacy physicians before and chose to try this instead. I walked in and was seen by a doctor within 20 minutes.
Everyone was friendly and I felt like I was in good hands.
I went in because of a sore throat. #2

Today was my second visit to this clinic and the staff was great. I was there just a little over an hour. The doctor was very thorough and kind. This place is a great alternative whenever I can’t get into see my regular doctor.

I specifically called to check pricing. The lady confirmed the price and once I arrived, she tacked on 20 dollars more. Very disappointed the price quoted on the phone was not honored. Its not my fault their employees don’t know what they charge

Great job! Little wait and the doctor was clear about medicine and shots. I had her research them because I am nursing. Had my best interest in mind and jump started me getting well with 2 shots. Thanks a million Dr Lomeda and the staff!

«I think the issue is x, but if it’s not better in a week, you have a serious problem.» No solution offered, no referral. A waste of time and money. And when I declined the pain prescription because it makes me ill, was treated like I was lying.

This location was most expensive of locations I’ve visited throughout U.S. including California. Front office staff very formal and stiff, almost like she was being inconvenienced to check me in. Back office staff was great, very friendly and welcoming.

Great place, friendly staff and knowledgeable physicians. I always go here when I have minor stuff going on and I can get in with my PCP. They accept most insurances and the price for service is totally reasonable. Keep up the great work. Would totally recommend to anyone who needs to see a doctor, but can’t get into theirs. Just amazed with the great service I recieved.

So the staff was friendly and the office was very clean. I would’ve given them 4 stars if the doctor that saw me would’ve taken a septum test or any type of test. I understand that some things can be diagnosed without testing but a week after I left here with Bronchitis I got the Flu which all could’ve been a coincidence but it was too close in proximity for me. With it being Flu season I would think anyone that presents with «Flu like symptoms» would be tested accordingly. Again service was prompt, place was clean, staff was friendly. Just ask for them to actually run test on you before they prescribe you medicine. 7

This place is clean, organized, and I have never waited very long to see a doctor. The front staff and medical staff were all friendly, and the doctors listened to me and helped me get over the flu, ear infection, and bronchitis. It was easy to pick up my prescriptions right away next door at Walgreens. I have visited this location three times. #3

My husband has been here a few times for different reasons and has always had a positive experience, but it was my first time to go this week. We both got very sick this week with coughs, fevers, etc. Our personal doctor could not get us in, so we both went to Doctors Express on Weslayan. We were the only ones there, and were helped right away. Everyone from the front desk, the the triage person, nurse, and doctor were wonderful, professional, and helpful. The facility is clean, and set up well. I’m glad it is available when our doctor’s office is not!

Fast and great caring service you see a real Board Certified doctor. Cane in with a bad sinus infection that has been bothering me for 10 day now and the doctor seemed very knowledgable, I got a shot and I should be better faster. Its better than waiting at a hospital ER.

I went to Doctor’s Express (#7) on December 26. I unfortunately got sick during Christmas and did not want to pay Emergency Room prices so waited until the day after and I was so happy and relieved that Doctor’s Express was open and close to the Galleria area where i live. I ended up having Strep and a Sinus Infection and was able to get antibiotics prescribed. I am so grateful that they saw me so quickly and called in the antibiotics prescription. By the time i got to CVS (10 min drive) my meds were ready! I would definitely go see them again and recommend to anyone looking for an Urgent Care doctor.

Today I went into Doctors Express, location # 7 because my cold and cough had gotten worse and was keeping me up all night. I had been to this location earlier in the year when I had strep throat and they were so quick to get me in and checked out, that I immediately thought of them when I wasn’t able to get into my primary care physician.
From the moment I arrived (earlier than they opened) they let me in, greeted my very kindly and right in. Saw a very nice and concerned dr named Dr. Singh, she assessed me, looked me over and saw to my needs. The nurse went over my prognosis and explained what I needed to do and gave me my shot very easily! It didn’t even hurt.
I wouldn’t hesitate to come here again and my even come here before trying to get in at my drs office.

July 4^th 2014 I slipped on a soapy surface in 3 inch platform shoes. I knew when I looked down at my ankle that I had to crack it back into place. The pain was excruciating. I waited until the morning so that I could verify my benefits and make sure I was making a smart financial decision when it came to this emergency. If I would have gone to and ER I would have received the same service with and ER Co-​pay.
I was carried into the clinic because there was no hoping or limping. From the front desk, to the nurse to the Doctor, they were kind and handled my pain with compassion. I was x-​rayed then my ankle was secured and I was written a prescription for the pain. Unfortunately, the prognosis was bleak and I was referred to Fondren Orthopedics which pinned and plated me back together.
The most important thing to consider when it comes to your health and money is to choose the appropriate facility for issue at hand. I would recommend Doctors Express to friends and family for urgent needs. Doctors Express, thank you for your compassion, every time I pass by the location I think, they were so nice to me when I got hurt.
